The race is on for the all time record for the most passing yards in a career with 11,924 which is held by Sam Metcalf of Farmersville from 2011-14.
Can one of these Quarterbacks PASS Metcalf? (Get it …Pass!)

No 1 Alec Trujillo Memorial Panthers, 8,110 yards (74 TD passes)
No 2 Nathan Lamb Tulare Union Tribes, 7,489 yards (75 TD passes
No 3 Trent Tompkins Central Grizzlies, 7,306 yards (82 TD passes)

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WEEK 3

Orosi Cardinals (2-0) at Granite Hills Grizzlies (0-3)
Pag Meter Line Orosi -22
The Cardinals come off a bye and ready to battle for a division 6 section Championship. In week 1, the Cardinals beat Coalinga in a shootout 52-45. Evan Lara hit Aidan Rodriguez for a 40 yard TD pass. Ismael Perez scored on a 10 yard TD run. Chris Huerta scored on a 5 yard TD run and Jerry Huerta had 39 carries, rushed 285 yards, and scored 4 TD’s.
For the Grizzlies they have played a tough schedule in their first two games. They come off a loss to a very good Porterville team.
The X factor is the Cardinals defense and if they start stepping up then the Cards will make a run. Can the Grizzlies slow down Jerry Huerta? Nope Huerta with 4 TD’s and now have scored 8 TD’s on the year.
Pag Meter Prediction Orosi 44 Granite Hills 22 (FINAL OROSI 28 Granite Hills 20)

Riverdale Cowboys (2-1) vs Sierra Pacific Golden Bears (0-2)
Pag Meter Line Riverdale -5
The Cowboys put it all together in a win over Sierra 42-0. The Golden Bears lost to Reedley 21-12.
This is a good Thursday night division 6 seeding game.
The X factor can the Cowboys play another outstanding 4 quarters on the road?
Pag Meter Prediction Riverdale 25 Sierra Pacific 20 (FINAL RIVERDALE 21 SP 7)

No 21 Lemoore Tigers (2-1) vs No 9 Tulare Western Mustangs (3-0)
Pag Meter Line Tulare Western -7
A huge division 2 battle of 2-0 teams. The Tigers come off a win over Chowchilla 43-18. QB Justin Holaday had a break game going 14-31 for 272 yards and 4 TD passes.
Tulare Western comes off a win over Mt Whitney 35-28. Tairyn Johnson rushed for a career-high 307 yards and scored 4 TDs. In two games, TJ has rushed for 479 yards and has scored 7 TD’s.
The X factor is the Tigers are playing much better this year against the run and they will have to because Tairyn Johnson will be coming right the Tigers defense. The Mustangs have a zero passing game and it has to get better if the Mustangs want to win the Bell game and the division 2 section championship. It will help the Mustangs when outstanding senior receiver Keshon Butler comes back in about 4-6 weeks and into league play. Keshon can practice but no games until the next grading period comes out. Last year Butler caught 57 passes for 1,341 yards and scored 13 TD’s.
This will be a very good game and if Holaday goes off along with Johnson……Shootout!
Pag Meter Prediction Tulare Western 39 Lemoore 32 (FINAL TW 35 LEMOORE 0)

California City Ravens (1-2) at Riverside Prep Silver Knights (0-3)
Pag Meter Line Cal City -7
The X factor is the Ravens have played in two tough games and should be ready for a win.
Pag Meter Prediction Cal City 27 Riverside Prep 20 (FINAL CAL CITY 35 RIVERSIDE 0)

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS WEEK 3
Independence Falcons (2-1) at No 18 Arroyo Grande Eagles (2-1)
Pag Meter Line Arroyo Grande -9
The Falcons will get a big test on the road this week against a very good Eagles team. Senior QB Sergio Borreli leads the Falcons. Last week the Falcons kept their starters in almost the entire game in the blowout win over Selma 47-0 and the Falcons will find out in a hurry that the Eagles are light years better than the Bears.
For the Eagles they come in off a loss to Helix 34-3. Eagles were without their best running back James Gilmet and they had no answers against the Helix defense.
The X factor is the Falcons defense because the Eagles are big and physical up front.
Pag Meter Prediction Arroyo Grande 36 Independence 25 (FINAL AG 28 INDY 14)

Stockdale Mustangs (1-2) at Atascadero Greyhounds (0-2)
Pag Meter Line Atascadero -8
The Mustangs defense has been getting torched to start the year.
The Greyhounds comes in losing to San Luis Obispo 21-14. Penalties and turnovers killed the Hounds all night long.
The X factor if the Greyhounds can clean up the offense…they will win at home.
Pag Meter Prediction Atascadero 25 Stockdale 17 (FINAL STOCKDALE 46 ATASCADERO 20)

No 7 Edison Tigers (1-2) at No 2 Buchanan Bears (3-0)
Pag Meter Line Buchanan -14
The Tigers finally played Tigers football in the 2nd half in the win over Clovis West 41-35. The Pag Meter X factor for the Tigers is RUN THE BALL WITH MCKINLEY LEE! Lee rushed for 243 yards and scored 2 TD’s and most of it came in the 2nd half. The Tigers passing attack is just not good enough to beat anybody but it’s getting better. The Tigers defense was blown up vs Clovis West and against a bunch of young Golden Eagles and now they get the Bears stars.
The Bears come in and dangerous on both sides of the ball. They beat up Bullard on Friday 31-0. Linebacker Steven Scheidt led the defense with 14 tackles and Michael Mertens with 10 tackles. Kendall Milton with TD runs of 1, 14 and 13 yards. Levi Willems 44-yard TD run.
The X factor is the Tigers and if they can’t slow down Kendall and the Bears offense….this will be a blow out. The Bears passing attack was shut down against the Knights and if the speedy Tigers DB’s can play much better than they did against Clovis West, we might have a ball game. Edison’s front seven is much better than the Knights front seven.
Pag Meter Prediction Buchanan 35 Edison 21 (FINAL BUCHANAN 45 EDISON 6)

Woodlake Tigers (2-1) at Caruthers Blue Raiders (3-0)
Pag Meter Line Caruthers-2
What a division 5 matchup!
The Tigers come off a big win over Exeter 28-15. QB Damian Hernandez is off to great start for the Tigers. Damian’s favorite receiver is Bryan Cuevas who already has 21 catches for 265 yards.
For the defending division 5 Champion Blue Raiders they come in beating up Coalinga 43-7. Chris Puga has now rushed for 309 yards with 7 TD’s.
The X factor is the defensive side of the ball and both are good. Can the Blue Raiders match up with the Tigers passing attack? Can the Tigers slow down Puga?
Pag Meter Prediction Caruthers 29 Woodlake 27 (FINAL CARUTHERS 21 WOODLAKE 6)

Immanuel Eagles (1-2) at Chowchilla Tribe (2-1)
Pag Meter Line Chowchilla -17
The X factor is the Eagles defensive front and can they slow down QB Cody Woolsey?
Pag Meter Meter Chowchilla 34 Immanuel 17 (FINAL CHOWCHILLA 38 IMMANUEL 14)

No 25 Bullard Knights (0-2) at No 6 Clovis Cougars (3-0)
Pag Meter Line Clovis -4
I would love to broadcast this one on 940 ESPN but the best stadium in the valley (Lamonica) is not set up for a radio broadcast. How is that possible??
One of the greatest rivalries dating back to the 1960’s with two outstanding alumni will have a big crowd.
The Knights come in after getting smashed 31-0 to the Buchanan Bears. The Knights were not ready in week 2 to play the No 2 team in the valley.
The Cougars crushed Modesto and Stockdale with the same 42-14 score.
Last year’s Knights backup QB Isaiah Robles is now a star QB for the Cougars throwing 10 TD passes. I’m thinking Robles will be fired up to play his former teammates and the Knights defense will be fired up to go after Robles. Robles threw for 299 yards on 13-18 for the game and receiver Matt Sanchez caught 5 passes for 188 yards and scored 3 TD’s.
Are the Knights going to be better this week after a horrible showing along with a ton of personal foul penalties? The Pag Meter is a former Knight and I have never seen a Knights team with so many stupid penalties!
Are the Cougars for real? Modesto and Stockdale are not good football teams.
The X factor is Clovis can’t run the ball with a zero running game and the Knights did not do a good job last week against the run but the the Knights have the potential to get better.
The strength for the Cougars is the passing attack and the strength of the Knights is the defensive secondary. Something has to give!
The Cougars offense is a spread it out with a dink and dunk attack. It’s kind of like the Clovis West offense without the running QB. The Cougars will throw it all over the yard. The Knights did a nice job against the pass but the Bears didn’t have to pass when they ran the ball so well.
The Knights have one of the top backs in the valley with Marcus Fulcher and the Cougars have a tremendous defensive line. The Bears shutdown Fulcher all night long. Can the Knights get back at pounding the football? The Knights have to step up because they have the talent to win at Lamonica but they have to play SMART for 48 minutes.
There are so many X factors in this one…I can see this thing going in so many ways!!
Just can’t tell if the Cougars are real good and will the real Knights team show up?
If Fulcher has a big KNIGHT……..the Knights will win!
This should be the Radio game of the week. Come on Clovis and get Lamonica up to speed!
Pag Meter Prediction Clovis 28 Bullard 24 (FINAL CLOVIS 17 BULLARD 14)

Corcoran Panthers (3-0) at Avenal Buccaneers (0-3)
Pag Meter Line Corcoran -35+
The X factor is the Panthers running attack with Julian Escalante and Yovany Del Angel will be too much for the Bucs. Senior running back Julian Escalante of Corcoran rushed for a season high rushing for 221 yards on 26 carries and scored 3 touchdowns in a 55-45 win over Hanford West. This is the Prison Bowl!
Pag Meter Prediction Corcoran 48 Avenal 6 (FINAL CORCORAN 42 AVENAL 7)

No 28 Dinuba Emperors (2-1) at Reedley Pirates (1-2)
Pag Meter Line Dinuba -35
Have the Emperors turned the corner after shutting out the Redwood Rangers 35-0? Josh Martinez rushed for 188 yards and the defense did the rest.
The Pirates beat Sierra Pacific 21-12 and the Pirated snapped their 33 game non league losing streak. The last non league win was on Sept 23, 2011 when the Pirates beat Golden West.
The X factor is the Dinuba defense against the run is very good and the Pirates love to run the ball.
Pag Meter Prediction Dinuba 42 Reedley 7 (FINAL DINUBA 52 REEDLEY 7)

Washington Union Panthers (1-2) at Dos Palos Broncos (0-3)
Pag Meter Line Washington Union -3
This should be a real good game with two improving football teams.
The Panthers are 0-2 but has played tough and against a couple of very good teams with Madera and Kingsburg.
Dos Palos has also played tough and comes off a loss to Roosevelt 16-13 in 5 overtimes.
The X factor is the Broncos offense needs to have a night at home to beat the speedy Panthers.
Pag Meter Prediction Washington Union 25 Dos Palos 22 (FINAL WU 20 DP 19)

Delano Tigers (2-1) at East Bakersfield Blades (1-2)
Pag Meter Line East Bakersfield -7
The X factor is the Tigers have not put it together yet and the Blades are playing better defense.
Pag Meter Prediction East 27 Delano 20 (FINAL DELANO 14 EAST 14)

Sierra Chieftains (0-3) at Fowler Redcats (1-2)
Pag Meter Line Fowler -27
The X factor is the Redcats will get their first win but needs to play well on both sides of the ball in the same game to compete in division 5. Sierra’s numbers are down and it’s time to put the Chieftains in division 6.
Pag Meter Prediction Fowler 40 Sierra 13 (FINAL FOWLER 62 SIERRA 0)

No 14 Ridgeview Wolf Pack (2-1) at No 29 Frontier Titans (1-2)
Pag Meter Line Ridgeview -10
The Pack this year could be streaky again. That means they will beat the teams below them in the rankings but can’t beat the teams above them. The Pack will feast on weaker defenses and will struggle against good defenses. The Pack were completely stuffed in the loss to Liberty 38-0. The Pack played a very sloppy game with a ton of penalties.
The Titans got down 17-0 to Paso Robles before storming back and running out of time in the loss 17-14.
The X factor and for the Titans to win at home is they have to pound the ball with Ernest Jackson and avoid the big play by the Wolf Pack because they don’t have the Pack speed. Can the Titans play good enough defense? Can the Wolf Pack get back playing speedy Pack football?
Pag Meter Ridgeview 33 Frontier 23 (FINAL RIDEGVIEW 35 FRONTIER 14)

Fresno Warriors (0-3) at Hanford Bullpups (2-1)
Pag Meter Line Hanford -16
The Warriors will be ready for the NYL but still trying to find what works on both sides of the ball.
The Bullpups thought they had the team to beat the Sanger Apaches but got blown up at home in a 48-28 loss.
The X factor will be the Bullpups defensive front seven and if they want to compete for a WYL title, it has to improve.
Pag Meter Prediction Hanford 37 Fresno High 21 (FINAL HANFORD 34 FRESNO HIGH 13)

Kennedy Thunderbirds (3-0) at Highland Scots (1-2)
Pag Meter Line Kennedy -12
The Thunderbirds rushed for 430 yards in the win over Mira Monte 69-6. Yocanni Sandoval rushed for 110 yards on 5 carries and scored 3 TD’s. Tyreak Walker rushed for 130 yards and scored 2 TD’s on 9 carries.
The Scots battled the Shafter Generals but got worn down in the loss 40-27.
The X factor is the Birds season starts on friday night at Highland after two easy games on the schedule.
The Scots were run over by the Generals offense and now they face a team that is running down hill. Can the Birds control the line of scrimmage?
Pag Meter Prediction Kennedy 38 Highland 26 (FINAL KENNEDY 41 HIGHLAND 19)

Kerman Lions (2-1) at No 13 Madera Coyotes (3-0)
Pag Meter Line Madera -17
The Lions season starts on Friday after crushing 2 struggling teams. Are the Lions a contender in division 4? Stay tuned. The Lions beat up Madera South 35-7. QB Gavin Layton went 13-20 for 212 yards and 2 TD passes. Colton Smith rushed for 138 yards and scored 3 TD’s.
The Coyotes have yet to play 4 straight good quarters in a row. In the win over Washington Union in week 1, Madera trailed 14-13 in the 3rd quarter before scoring 42 2nd half points. In the win over Mission Oak, they jumped out big before taking their foot off the pedal and winning 31-21. QB Colton Nelson threw for 213 yards on 21-34 with 4 touchdowns and scored a TD.
For the Lions to compete on the Madera field turf they have to slow down the game and pound the ball and keep the clock ticking with long drives. The Coyotes are a quick striking team that will score many touchdowns with a blink of an eye.
If QB Colton Nelson gets going and starts playing catch with Joshua jj Espinoza and Joziah Velasquez then the Lions will be in for a long night. Can the Lions defense stay with the best offense they will see all year?
Pag Meter Prediction Madera 37 Kerman 20 (FINAL MADERA 48 KERMAN 30)

Kingsburg Vikings (2-1) vs No 26 Monache Marauders (2-1)
Pag Meter Line Kingsburg -7
The Vikings played the best team in division 3 tough in the loss 42-28 to Memorial. Last week they crushed the WU Panthers 48-14.
The Maruaders beat Golden West 32-21 in week 1 and come off a win over Chavez 25-8. Aidan Galvan rushed for 254 yards and scored 4 TD’s.
Monache played last Friday with either a Golden West hangover of they were looking ahead to Kingsburg.
The X factor is the Monache defense because the Vikings have a very good offense. This has the makings to be a very good game. The Marauder fans need to step up and pack the stadium, fire up the team to pull off a home win.
Pag Meter Prediction Kingsburg 34 Monache 27 (FINAL KINGSBURG 45 MONACHE 28)

No 23 Clovis West Golden Eagles (0-3) at No 4 Liberty Patriots (2-1)
Pag Meter Line Liberty -16
The Golden Eagles come off a loss to Edison 41-35. QB Dante Chachere threw for 361 yards with 4 TD passes, rushed for 101 yards, with a 50 Yard TD run and the CW defense got run over….The Clovis West defense fooled me because I really thought they were the strength of the team. The defense got beat up vs the run and pass. Dante had a great night and CW lost.
The Patriots beat up Ridgeview 38-0 and it wasn’t that close. It was a good old fashion beat down and if it was an MMA fight….the Pack would have tapped out at the coin flip.
The Kriptnyte of the Golden Eagles is a team that runs down hill and nobody does it better than the Pates and Sammy Stewart who rushed for 134 yards and scored 2 TD’s in the win over Ridgeview. I am so glad that the Patriots silly QB rotation experiment is over. Hector Gonzalez is real good and the guy that can get the Patriots to championship Friday.
The X factor this a bad matchup for the Golden Eagles. The Patriots can’t look ahead to next week when they host No 2 Buchanan or Clovis West could pull the shocker.
Pag Meter Prediction Liberty 36 Clovis West 20 (FINAL LIBERTY 47 CW 14)

Chavez Titans (0-3) at Liberty Madera Hawks (3-0)
Pag Meter Line Liberty Madera -34
The X factor is the Hawks will take care of business at home. Next week is the showdown at Kennedy!!! The Titans have lost 12 in a row and it will be 13 in a row after this game.
Pag Meter Prediction Liberty Madera 47 Chavez 13 (FINAL LIBERTY 49 CHAVEZ 8)

Morro Bay Pirates (0-3) at Lindsay Cardinals (2-0)
Pag Meter Line Lindsay -19
The Cardinals come off a bye and the Pirates come off a loss to Gonzales 50-7.
The X factor is the Pirates defense hanging with the Cardinals offense.
Pag Meter Prediction Lindsay 37 Morro Bay 18 (FINAL LINDSAY 48 MORRO BAY 0)

Coalinga Horned Toads (0-3) at McFarland Cougars (3-0)
Pag Meter Line McFarland -7
The X factor is the Toads defense and they need to step up. The Toads have played a much tougher schedule and the Cougars have played a very soft 2 games.
The X factor is the Toads defense and can they slow down the Cougars offense?
Pag Meter Prediction (UPSET SPECIAL) Coalinga 30 McFarland 23 (FINAL MCFARLAND 20 COALINGA 0)

Hanford West Huskies (0-3) at McLane Highlanders (2-0)
Pag Meter Line McLane -1
This is a tough one to figure out. The Huskies are fast but the defense is struggling.
The Highlanders beat Mendota in week 1 and come off a bye.
The X factor is the Huskies defense and they have to improve or the Highlanders will be 2-0.
Pag Meter McLane 33 Hanford West 32 (FINAL MCLANE 65 HW 14)

Mt. Whitney Pioneers (1-2) vs Hoover Patriots (0-2)
Pag Meter Line Mt Whitney -31
The Pioneers are the best 0-2 team in the valley with 2 tough losses to Tulare Union and Tulare Western. QB Jayden Pineda is off to great start throwing for 459 yards with 6 TD passes.
The Patriots started the year losing to Golden Valley of Merced 36-0. The Pates are a work in progress.
The X factor is the Pioneers are just too dangerous on offense.
Pag Meter Prediction Mt Whitney 44 Hoover 13 (FINAL MW 58 HOOVER 16)

Golden West Trailblazers (1-2) at Nipomo Titans (3-0)
Pag Meter Line Nipomo -7
This will be a hard hitting game.
The Titans will get the defending division 4 section champion Blazers Wing T offense. GW will want to play keep away all night long with running the football. GW wants to take away the Titans chances of touching the football and shorten the game and they do such a great job at doing that. GW comes off a win over El Capitan-Merced 46-6. GW rushed for 366 yards on the ground. The Trailblazers had 7 players rush for at least 32 yards, led by Christian Ortiz with 92 yards rushing on 17 carries. Jesse Lopez scored 2 TD’s to go with 43 yards rushing on 9 carries.
The Titans beat Cabrillo 45-14. QB Brayden Groshart went 18-of-27 passing for 226 yards and 3 TD passes.
The X factor is the Titans defensive front seven and can they slow down the Wing T. The Titans QB Groshart also plays on the D-line so is Groshart a true QB playing D-line or is he a true D-lineman playing QB? I think he’s a good old fashion high school football player.
Pag Meter Prediction Nipomo 31 Golden West 24 (FINAL NIPOMO 35 GW 20)

Orange Cove Titans (3-0) at Farmersville Aztecs (0-3)
Pag Meter Line Orange Cove -29
The X factor is the Titans are better on both sides of the ball. OC is thinking division 6 championship. Sophomore QB Zach Ramirez is off to a great varsity start throwing for 326 yards and 5 TD passes. Big game for OC is next week at Corcoran.
Pag Meter Orange Cove 45 Farmersville 16 (FINAL OC 52 FARMERSVILLE 6)

No 17 Paso Robles Bearcats (1-2) vs El Diamante Miners (1-2)
Pag Meter Line Paso Robles -11
The Bearcats come off a big win over Frontier 17-14. The Cats opened up a 17-0 lead and had to hang on. Cris Smith rushed for 186 yards and scored 2 TD’s. Nathan Garcia rushed for 82 yards and scored 1 TD.
El Diamante had their coach Mark Rogers retired after 15 years on Tuesday and the team just didn’t show up on Thursday in the blowout loss to Tulare Union 52-0.
When the Miners are ready to look for a new coach, one of the best coaches around is Tulare Western Mustangs head coach Ryan Rocha. Coach Ryan would be the perfect fit for the Miners.
Back to the game, the X factor the Miners offensive line is young and the Bearcats are getting better and better every quarter they play. The Cats are a work in progress.
Pag Meter Prediction Paso Robles 31 El Diamante 20 (FINAL EL D 17 PASO 10)

Pioneer Valley Panthers (0-2) at No 10 Righetti High Warriors (3-0)
Pag Meter Line Righetti High -25
Battle for the Helmet
The Panthers come off a loss to St Joseph 39-19. Michael Bourbon scored 2 TD’s.
The Warriors are now 2-0 after beating Oak Park 49-21. Red hot Adan Solis rushed for 204 yards and scored 3 TDs on 12 carries.
The X factor is the Panthers D-line because the Warriors will pound it right at them.
Pag Meter Prediction Righetti High 45 Pioneer Valley 20 (RIGHETTI 35 PV 0)

Roosevelt Rough Riders (3-0) at Firebaugh Eagles (1-2)
Pag Meter Line Firebaugh -3
This should be a very good game.
The Riders beat the Eagles neighbor down the road, Dos Palos 16-13 in 5 overtimes. Yes 5 overtimes.
The Eagles had to open up the year against the Madera Hawks and that’s a bad matchup for the Eagles and got blown out. Last Friday the Eagles beat Fowler 21-7. QB Jeshua Gutierrez stepped up and played how he played last year by going 11-16 and 2 TD passes and rushed for 84 yards and scored a TD.
The X factor is which defense will step up and if Gutierrez has a good game!
Pag Meter Prediction Firebaugh 25 Roosevelt 22 (FINAL ROOSEVELT 14 FIREBAUGH 7)

Arvin Bears (2-1) at Rosamond Roadrunners (1-2)
Pag Meter LIne Rosamond -6
The X factor is a good Bears defense going against a good Roadrunners offense. The Bears will have a fun bus ride home if they play good football on both sides of the ball. The Roadrunners defense is shaky.
Pag Meter Prediction Rosamond 36 Arvin 30 (FINAL ARVIN 42 ROSAMOND 39)

No 5 Memorial Panthers (3-0) vs Mission Oak Hawks (1-2)
Pag Meter Line Memorial -27
The Panthers QB Alex Trujillo ties the schools passing TD record with 58 and tied with Chris Joseph (2000-2002). I’m thinking Alex will break the record on the first drive.
The Hawks snapped their 14 losing streak in week 1 and now get to play against the best team in division 3.
The X factor is the Hawks can’t afford to punt and will have to hold their serve because the Panthers might just score on every drive.
Pag Meter Memorial 47 Mission Oak 20 (FINAL SJM 49 MO 6)

No 22 Clovis East T Wolves (2-1) at No 11 Sanger Apaches (2-1)
Pag Meter Line Sanger -8
The Battle for Academy Ave
The T Wolves beat Wood of Vacaville 21-20 and snapped their 27 game losing streak dating back to Sept 25, 2015 beating Overfelt of San Jose. Justice Cantu blocked the extra point and the T Wolves can finally celebrate a victory. Ryan Hunt rushed for 165 yards on 31 carries and scored 2 TD’s. Joe Nation scored a TD.
For the Apaches they beat up Hanford 48-28. Koshi Agina rushed for 135 yards on 7 carries and scored on TD runs of 65 and 21 yards.
The Factor is Clovis East and they found out winning is a lot of fun so can they win at Chuck Shidan field?
Pag Meter Prediction Sanger 27 Clovis East 19 (FINAL CE 14 SANGER 8)

Shafter Generals (3-0) at North Stars (0-3)
Pag Meter Line Shafter -12
The Generals beat Highland 40-27. Alex Aguilar threw for 190 yards and 3 TD passes, rushed for 153 yards and scored a TD.
The Stars traveled to Monterey and it was a disaster losing 37-14. The Stars fumbled on their first 5 possessions of the game and got down 28-0 in the first quarter.
The X factor is the Stars are a good team and we are waiting to see it and the Generals are hungry to win a division 5 section title. The Stars should slam dunk win at home but they won’t.
Pag Meter Prediction Shafter 34 North 22 (FINAL SHAFTER 42 NORTH 14)

South Rebels (2-1) at Golden Valley Bulldogs (0-3)
Pag Meter Line South -South -30
The X factor is the Rebels are a scoring machine and if they play some defense they will be very tough to beat.
Pag Meter Prediction South 43 Golden Valley 13 (FINAL SOUTH 40 GV 0)

No 20 Garces Rams (0-3) at No 12 St. Joseph Knights (3-0)
Pag Meter Line St Joseph -11
The Central Valley vs the Central Coast Holy Bowl
The Rams come off a loss to the No 1 team in the Country St John Bosco 49-0. Don’t go by the score because Bosco is a national recruited school with a division 1 player at every position.
The Knights come off a win over Pioneer Valley 39-19. Devin Guggia, rushed for 168 yards on 33 carries.
The X factor is the defensive front on both teams. Who will have the better game?
Pag Meter Prediction St Joseph 34 Garces 23 (FINAL ST JOSEPH 31 GARCES 30)

Strathmore Spartans (2-0) at Parlier Panthers (0-3)
Pag Meter Line Strathmore -25
The State champs start the year with a win over Boron 48-6.
Alonso Acevedo, with a career-high 159 yards rushing and scored 4 TDs on 19 carries.
Parlier lost to Yosemite 52-34.
The X factor is the Panthers defense.
Pag Meter Prediction Strathmore 46 Parlier 21 (FINAL STRATHMORE 52 PARLIER 12)

Selma Bears (1-2) at Sunnyside Wildcats (0-3)
Pag Meter Line Sunnyside -35+
The Bears are trying to find some offense after their QB Ricky Mota went down with a broken arm in week 1. With no Ricky, the Bears have not scored a TD yet in 8 quarters.
The Wildcats are doing what they do….they struggle in the non league games and will dominate the NYL and will try not to lose ugly in the playoffs. I don’t get it because Sunnyside should be in the CMAC with the big boys and compete for a title. Stay tuned!
The X factor is a struggling division 2 team should roll at home over a struggling division 4 team. PAG METER WAS WAAAAAY WRONG ON THIS ONE!!
Pag Meter Prediction Sunnyside 46 Selma 7 (FINAL SELMA 21 SUNNYSIDE 13)

Taft Wildcats (2-1) at Tehachapi Warriors (1-2)
Pag Meter Taft -5
The X factor is the Wildcats are red hot and the Warriors are ice cold. Are the Cats for real? Stay tuned. This is a pretty even game. Taft plays much better at home.
Pag Meter Tehachapi 32 Taft 27 (FINAL TEHAPHAPI 34 TAFT 15)

Mendota Aztecs (0-3) at Templeton Eagles (1-1)
Pag Meter Line Mendota -14
The X factor is the Aztecs are slowly coming around.
Pag Meter Mendota 34 Templeton 20 (FINAL TEMPLETON 38 MENDOTA 20)

No 9 Tulare Union Tribe (3-0) vs Redwood Rangers (0-2)
Pag Meter Line Tulare Union -29
If the Tribe pulls out a win, head coach Darren Bennett wins No 200. (199-104-1)
The Tribe on Thursday crushed the El Diamante Miners 52-0. Nate Lamb completed 21-of-26 for 274 yards and 3 TD passes. In two games Lamb is now 45-65 for 672 yards and 6 TD passes. Darius Baker caught 9 passes for 159 yards and 2 TD’s.
The Rangers got smoked 35-0 to Dinuba.
The X factor is Coach Bennett will win No 200
Pag Meter Prediction Tulare Union 43 Redwood 14 (TULARE UNION 67 REDWOOD 20)

Madera South Stallions (0-2) at Wasco Tigers (2-0)

Back to football, Madera South got crushed by Kerman 35-7. The Stallions football team is still building a culture, it will take time.
Wasco comes off a bye after beating Tehachapi in week 1.
The X factor is this is the battle of the Wing T and the Tigers are off to great start.

There will be plenty of speed in this game.

No 3 Bakersfield Drillers (2-1) at Paramount Pirates (1-2)
Pag Meter Line Paramount -7
The only team that can beat the Drillers are the Drillers. If they don’t put the ball on the grass they can win against a very good defense. This game is very even with a Drillers running offense vs the Pirates passing attack.
The Drillers beat Tehachapi and it could have been 100-0. Isaiah Jernagin took the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown. Jernagin went on to have a huge first half, adding a 52-yard run and an 80-yard interception return for touchdowns.
Paramount lost to Bishop Amat 21-6.
The X factor is the the Pirates can’t run the ball and the Drillers can’t throw the ball. The Pirates will throw it all over the yard. Tough call in this one because you just never know if the Drillers offense will show up. Without any turnovers…..the Drillers win! I’m banking on the Drillers offense stepping up
