PAGMETER TEAM OF THE YEAR

CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS
The Cavaliers won plenty in the 2nd half of games and no bigger was the semifinals, beating Tulare Union 43-42. The Cavaliers trailed 34-13 at the half with 5 turnovers. Senior RB Bryson Donelson rushed for 281 yards and scored 3 TDs including the game winner and 2 point conversion.The Cavaliers beat Lemoore in the Division 2 Section Championship game 27-26. Donelson scored the game’s final TD on a 52-yard TD pass from QB Brett Kroeze with 4:41 to go. The Cavaliers’ defense forced Lemoore to turn it over on the ensuing possession and the defense did the rest.
The Cavaliers stayed hot in the State playoffs, beating Simi Valley 55-38 in the first round and then beating Los Gatos 45-42 in the State Championship game. The Cavaliers finished the year at 15-1 and the D2-A State Champions.

PAGMETER PLAYER OF THE YEAR

BRYSON DONALSON-Senior- CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS
Bryson will go down as one of the best to ever play in Central Section history. Bryson came up huge in so many big games and was a big part of the Cavaliers winning the Division 2 Section Championship along with winning the D2-A State Championship. Bryson rushed for 3,297 yards and scored 58 TDs which led the state and most of the 58 TDs were huge for the Cavaliers. Some TD records you will see that teams will leave the star player in to break records even though the team is way up in the 2nd half. (I hate that) The Cavaliers were not a team looking for TD records and that means, if CVC had leads in the 4th quarter, Bryson was out of the game. Bryson also caught 10 TD passes for 645 yards and next stop will be playing at Fresno State.

PAGMETER BEST TWO-WAY PLAYER OF THE YEAR

TOMMY NIX-Senior- CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES
One of the most dangerous players on both sides of the ball in the Central Section.
Tommy caught 67 footballs for 1,313 yards with 17 TDs. On defense he was one of the best S/DB’s making 72 tackles and picked off 5 passes. Tommy is 6’2, 200lb and also gets it done in the classroom. Next stop will be playing at Fresno State.

PAGMETER SMALL SCHOOL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

HUNTER BABB-Senior- CARUTHERS BLUE RAIDERS
For most of the year, Hunter led the nation in rushing and finished his senior year 2nd in the state rushing for 3,245 yards and scored 45 TDs in 11 games. For his career, Hunter rushed for 6,535 yards which is 5th all time in Central Section history according to Bob Barnett.

PAGMETER COACH OF THE YEAR
This year the PAGMETER could have gone in so many different directions for Coach of the Year.
*Mike Jacot and his Clovis North Broncos staff did a fantastic job and the Broncos were by far the best team in the Central Section.
*Mason Hughes at CVC who is leaving for COS had his best team in school history.
*Nathan Chamberlain from the Mt Whitney Pioneers did maybe the best of all. Coach Nathan and his staff had a very low number of players and were expected to struggle but the Pioneers had a fabulous season going 8-4 and won the West Yosemite League going 5-0.
*Chad Martinez with the Wasco Tigers winning the Division 5 Section Championship with a young team. The Tigers started the year slow as expected and got it going. That’s a sign of a good team when they get better and better each week and peak in the playoffs.
*Chris Bandy from Frontier who coached his best year ever with the Titans and first league title since 2012, going 10-0 in the regular season.
*Kris Krempien for the Tehachapi Warriors who got absolutely screwed in the horrible playoff format. The Warriors won the first 11 games, SYML title, and should have been in division 3 but had to play in D2. The Warriors didn’t even get a home game but did beat Bakersfield at Griffith Field in the playoff opener but did lose in the 2nd round.

The PAGMETER COACH/STAFF OF THE YEAR

MARTY MARTIN- MISSION OAK HAWKS
The Hawks won their first Section Championship in school history and won the Division 3 title. In only his 2nd year, the Hawks put it all together.
Marty does a tremendous job and is one of the great people in the Coaching profession. To Marty and his staff, GREAT JOB!!

PAGMETER SMALL SCHOOL COACH OF THE YEAR

JEROMY BLACKWELL-STRATHMORE SPARTANS
This was one of the best stories of 2023 with head coach Jeromy Blackwell’s amazing story of suffering a heat stroke in June, which led to a medically induced coma and now winning a state championship. Blackwell got better and was back out coaching the Spartans.
This Strathmore season either needs to be a Netflix movie or a 30 for 30 show.
The Spartans worked this new playoff format to perfection in winning the Division 6 Section Championship beating Mendota 14-7 and you just knew after beating Mendota that nobody was going to beat the Spartans for the State Championship.
The Spartans beat Lincoln 41-15 in the first round of the Division 7-A State playoffs. Jacob Poole rushed 141 yards and scored 2 TDs and threw a TD pass to Isaiah Colunga. Lincoln figured out early that Strathmore plays a different style with kick-ass physical football.
The Spartans won their 2nd state championship (2017) beating Bell Gardens 42-7 and Strathmore is the only team in Tulare County to win a state championship in football.

PAGMETER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

JACKSON CINFEL-Senior-CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS
The Central Section Champion Broncos loved giving the ball to their stud junior RB and get ready for a huge senior year. Jackson will run by you, wear you down for 4 quarters and/or run your ass over. Jackson rushed for 1,904 yards, scored 17 TDs, was the TRAC Offensive Player of the year and he gets it done in the classroom with 4.0 GPA. Let the recruiting begin because Jackson is a D1 college future running back.

PAGMETER QUARTERBACK OF THE YEAR

TY MILLER-Junior-CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES
One of the hardest working QBs in the Central Section. Ty is fun to watch because he’s dangerous in the pocket, very accurate, will pick you apart, leader in the huddle along with running with the football. Every young QB should watch Ty play QB because he carries out his fakes with the play action passing/zone read and he throws down hill. Pagmeter loves to watch a QB that carries out his fakes and throws down hill! It’s a lost art and QB coaches very rarely teach it. 99% of all QB coaches teach the Pat Mahomes style of throwing sideways and less than 1% of QB’s can throw like Pat Mahomes and nobody teaches the Tom Brady style of throwing down hill. Ty can do both styles.
Ty threw for 3,510 yards, with 43 TD passes, rushed for 612 yards and scored 5 TDs. Ty will have the T Wolves ready for a Central Section Championship run in 2024 and some college will be lucky to get the gun-slinger Ty Miller!

PAGMETER TIGHT END OF THE YEAR

HOUSTON HIRSCHKORN-Senior-KINGSBURG VIKINGS
One of the best players on both sides of the ball in the Central Section at TE along with playing outstanding at DE/MLB. On offense, Houston is 6’3, an outstanding blocker for the Vikings running attack and dangerous catching the football. On defense he had 9 sacks, 84 tackles along with a 4.06 GPA. Houston is a very good athlete and also one heck of a baseball player and the next stop will be playing baseball at UC Davis.

PAGMETER RUNNING BACK OF THE YEAR

BRISON ABBOTT-Junior-BAKERSFIELD DRILLERS
Brison will come into the 2024 season as one of the top running backs in the state after rushing for 2,152 yards and scoring 23 TDs.. The SYVL Offensive Player of the year has plenty of speed, power and sky’s the limit for Abbott. Against BC, he rushed for 318 yards and scored 3 TDs and had a stretch of 6 straight 200-plus yard rushing games. Brison is fast, powerful and is getting recruited by plenty. Get ready for a big senior year from the best in the south valley.

PAGMETER WIDE RECEIVER OF THE YEAR

LANDON WRIGHT-Senior–CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES
The top Wide Receiver in the Central Section and Landon has so much potential to be a big time WR on Saturday’s for Washington State. Landon caught 66 passes for a Central Section section-leading 1,406 yards with 15 TDs. The TRAC All Star has breakaway speed and has tremendous hands.

PAGMETER OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE YEAR

DAVIT BOYAJYAN-Senior-CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS
The Broncos loved to pound the football averaging almost 300 yards per game and loved to run behind outstanding 6 ‘6, 300 lb Boyajvan who can play either Guard or Tackle. The Washington Huskies commit also has a 3.6 GPA in the classroom.

PAGMETER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

TYTUS KHJAVI-Senior-CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES
You just marvel at Tytus when you watch him play Linebacker. TK did everything he could to keep a thin Golden Eagles group fired up and played sideline to sideline along with playing Fullback. The Golden Eagles have had some tremendous teams over the years and TK would have been an All Star on any of them. Tytus had 108 tackles, 16.5 sacks, caused 4 fumbles and a blocked field goal. The next stop for the 6 ‘2, 220 lb linebacker will be playing at Fresno State.

PAGMETER LINEBACKER OF THE YEAR

KADO FELDER-Senior-WASHINGTON UNION PANTHERS
I don’t know what is going on out in Easton but it has to be the best school if you want to be a Top linebacker. You all remember the beast Keanu Kuma who was a PAGMETER Linebacker of the year just a few years ago, we’ll meet another beast and Kado is just as good as anybody in the state. Every coach I talked with said the same thing…”That guy is a beast”.
The All State Linebacker has a 4.3 GPA, is 6’1, 220 lbs, and led the section with 160 total tackles. Next stop will be playing at Campbell University and the Camels are getting a good one.

PAGMETER DEFENSIVE LINEMEN OF THE YEAR

KAI PREISENDORF-Senior-REDWOOD RANGERS
Kai is 6’3, 245 lbs, will go down as one of the best to ever play in Visalia. Kai is a 3 time All State player and a monster on the D-line/MLB who was double teamed on almost every play. Kai had 12 sacks, and had a big time motor. The EYL Defensive Player of the year also has a tremendous 4.5 GPA and the next stop stay tuned.

PAGMETER DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE YEAR

MARQUIS CROPPER-Senior-SANGER APACHES
The CMAC Defensive Player of the year was tough on both sides of the ball with plenty of speed. If the Apaches were a throwing team, Marquis would have been one of the best receivers in the state. On D, Marquis is a lockdown DB and broke the Apaches school record with 9 interceptions. Next stop could be playing at Reedley College and the Tigers are getting a good one!

PAGMETER SPECIALIST PLAYER OF THE YEAR

JACOB POOLE-Senior-STRATHMORE SPARTANS
Jacob would be a star on any team because his motor is better than most. Jacob is an old school football player that never comes off the field. Jacob returned punts and took 2 back for TDs, Jacob returned kickoffs, and took 2 back to the house. Jacob rushed for 1,709 yards, scored 22 TDs, caught 19 passes, scored another 4 TD’s and played most of the time injured. Jacob was the team leader for the Division 6 Section Champions and D7 State Champions. Jacob is fast, powerful and will go down as one of the best in Strathmore history and that is saying a lot for the 2-time state Champions.

PAGMETER MULTI-SPORT ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

TYLER PATRICK-SENIOR-CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES
Tyler Patrick is a PAGMETER All Central Section All Star QB & the PAGMETER Multi-Sport Athlete of the year along with being up for the PAGMETER Heart award.
This story will go down as one of craziest that the PAGMETER has ever seen in 30 years and hopes to never see or hear about again. Nobody should have to go through the mental torture than the Patrick’s had to go through.
For starters, Tyler is a 2 time PAGMETER All Star in baseball with being one of the top pitchers in the state for the Golden Eagles baseball team.
For football TP will go down as the All time leading passer in Clovis West history with 5,609 yards along with 52 TD passes and his senior year, he set the single season record of passing with 3,225 yards along with 29 TD passes.
Last year Tyler tied a National High School record for throwing a 99-yard TD pass to Marshel Sanders and that will never be broken because you can’t throw a 100 TD pass. I googled it. LOL
I know what you are thinking, wow this kid is so good and you would be correct.
Here’s where it gets crazy because for 3 years TP never knew if he would be playing on any given series or even practicing with the starters at practice. I shit you not! The all-time leading passer in school history got caught in the political 101 bullshit game because of two things…

No 1 TP is an All Star multi-sport athlete and during the summer he had to workout practice time with football/baseball. It’s very common with schools everywhere with coaches sharing athletes. Most schools and coaches work with each other and some schools make it very difficult on the athlete and Clovis West is one of the difficult ones.
No 2 Daddy-Ball. What is Daddy Ball? Stay tuned.
This story needs to be a future Netflix special or 30 for 30 show because what went on was simply wrong and nobody had the balls to step in and stop it. I reported on it weekley and pissed off plenty of people but when it was all said and done, the pissed off people at the time all agreed with me now.
TP is not only an All Star in football/baseball but also should get the PAGMETER Heart award for not snapping for 3 years. I have no idea how that was possible with what went down for so long.
What Daddy-ball means is the Offensive Coordinator had a young son who also plays QB and Daddy the OC would put his son in at QB in silly situations that made zero sense and 98% of the time cost the offense so what would happen, TP would have to go back in on 3rd and long situations and try to clean up the mess. It was the perfect excuse to put the young QB in because TP played baseball in the summer and missed some throwing days. Did I mention that TP is the all time leading passer in school history!!
With Daddy-ball, Clovis West had zero chance of competing for a TRAC league/Central Section Championship. Hey I get why Daddy-Ball was happening and it had nothing to do with TP missing summer practice or helping the Golden Eagles win at all. It was all about getting some film for son with the amazing CW receivers which back-fired and killed the team’s morale. The team went backwards week to week and never got better and the entire team suffered because of it.
The slam-dunk PAGMETER Underachieving team of the year goes to the Clovis West Golden Eagles team because they never had a chance to achieve even half of their full potential all because of Daddy-Ball.
The Patrick family along with Tyler, you all deserve a full apology because your senior year should be a special time. The good news is the OC has moved on and hopefully Clovis West can learn from this 3-year blunder.
To Tyler Patrick, you are an amazing player for keeping your cool for 3 years and the next stop will be playing baseball at Fresno State.

PAGMETER HEART AWARD

PEYTON VAN WORTH-Senior-DOS PALOS BRONCOS
What a story this is!
For any of you that has or had shoulder pain/labrum surgery, you know what kind of pain that is. It’s hard to sleep and/or do anything and forget about using your bad wing. Peyton played QB for the Broncos, had a tremendous year throwing for 2,000 yards with 16 TD passes, rushed for 476 yards and scored 6 TD’s. He never missed a beat, never complained in leading the Broncos to a West Sierra league Championship and 11-2 record. Oh, did I mention that he played the entire year at QB with a bad labrum that needed surgery? WHO DOES THAT!
There was no way that Peyton was going to miss his senior football year with an injury so he played through the pain. Every throw was painful, every practice was painful, everything was painful. Peyton had the surgery and will miss the baseball season. Peyton is also one heck of a catcher in baseball and will miss the year. He’s looking to Grey shirt this fall, rebuild and get back after it.That my friends is called ALL HEART!!!

PAGMETER KICKER/PUNTER OF THE YEAR

ALEX ASPARUHOV-Junior-MEMORIAL PANTHERS
When your punter is up for offensive MVP, that means your offense was horrible. Alex will come into 2024 as one of the top kickers/punters in the nation. Nobody works harder and has one of the strongest legs and led the Central Section with a 44-yard average with punting and nailed 95% of his field goals. The Panthers sure needed Alex to get them out of plenty of jams with his beautiful punting. Alex has a 3.5 GPA and get ready for a big senior year!

PAGMETER MOST IMPROVED PLAYER OF THE YEAR

WILL BACON-Sophomore-REEDLEY PIRATES QB
The most improved player in the Central Section has to be Will because once Will figured out this QB thing the Pirates caught fire. Look for the Pirates to be a major contender the next 2 years with the Tri-County Offensive Player of the year at QB. Will is very athletic with a good arm, smart and with plenty of speed.

PAGMETER UNDERCLASSMEN OF THE YEAR

JORDAN CRISP-Sophomore-TULARE UNION TRIBE QB
The Tribe have been down a bit with the football program until Mr Crisp was put into the starting QB role as a freshman and just like that, the Tribe are dangerous again. Jordan is 5’9, 210 lbs and very difficult to bring down because it’s like tackling a Bull. Jordan led the Central Section in passing yards and led the state as a sophomore with 4,288 passing yards and was No. 2 in passing TDs with 48 as a sophomore. Jordan has the potential to be the Central Section All Time leading passer by the time he graduates.

PAGMETER SUPER 70 ALL CENTRAL SECTION 2023 ALL STAR TEAM
(In no particular order)

BRAYLON HALL-Senior-CENTRAL GRIZZLIES WR/DB
One of the most dangerous players on both sides of the ball and got better with every game he played in. When Hall is on, so are the Grizzlies! Hall is fast with great hands and can change the game on any play. The TRAC Player of the Year caught 83 footballs for 1,372 yards and scored 17 TDs. At FS he made 20 tackles. Next stop will be playing at Western Colorado.

MEKHI DELOUTH-Senior-LIBERTY PATRIOTS RB/LB
2-year starter and will leave with a state championship ring his junior year. Mekhi rushed
1,181 yards, scored 18 TDs and made 66 tackles at linebacker.

TYLER HUGHES, Senior-CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS OL
The Caves were outstanding upfront and leading the way was their big man Tyler who was the Try-County Kings Canyon Lineman of the year. Tyler is a 3-year starter and helped the Cavaliers win a state championship for the first time in school history and will also leave with 2 Section Championship rings. Next stop will be playing at Dordt University.

DOMINICK THOMPSOM-Senior-GOLDEN VALLEY BULLDOGS RB/CB
This is one of the best stories of the year. The Bulldogs have 4 plays on offense and 99% of the time it’s going to be a run and Dom still rushed for 1,934 yards and scored 19 TDs. On defense Dom made 54 tackles and 2 interceptions.

KENNY JACKSON-Senior-MISSION OAK HAWKS WR/RB
The Division 3 section Champions did everything they could to get the ball to the dangerous KJ. Jackson rushed for 783 yards, scored 7 TDs and caught 53 passes for 749 yards and 8 more scores. The first thing teams did with preparing for the Hawks was focus on Kenny Jackson and the next stop will be playing at Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach Florida.

NOAH LUGINBILL-Senior-CLOVIS COUGARS LB
Noah will leave as the all time leading tackler in school history. The TRAC All Star was outstanding at Linebacker with over 100 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 interceptions and also did a great job at fullback scoring 8 TDs.

MCKAY MADSEN-Junior-CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS RB-DB
One of the best athletes in the Country and being recruited by so many including BYU, Nevada, Washington State, Cornell, West Point, Princeton, Air Force, Arizona State, Harvard, Yale, San Jose State, Penn University, Arizona, Fresno State and San Diego State. McKay easily can play like Christian McCaffrey if the Broncos opened it up. MaKay is also one the best Discus throwers in the state, outstanding at linebacker making 75 tackles along with 4 interceptions. At running back, MM averaged 8.3 yards per carry and scored 18 TDs for the Central Section Champions. MaKay has a 4.65 GPA, one of the best in the state in throwing the Discus and has the making of someday playing football on Sunday’s. Once McKay finishes his Mormon Mission, he will have 20 plus offers to think about.

ISRAEL ROBLES-Senior-SANGER APACHES RB
The Apaches could barely throw the ball overhand so everybody knew that Robles was the guy to stop and he still rushed for 1,758 yards and scored 28 TDs for the CMAC Champions. Israel is fast, crafty, physical and when he sees an opening he’s gone!

MALAKI STATLER-Senior-FRONTIER TITANS QB
Malakhi was the South Yosemite River League Offensive player of the year throwing for 2,734 yards and 33 TDs and the best to ever play at Frontier. Malaki is fast with a great arm, smart and a leader in the huddle. The next stop will be playing at Bakersfield College.

CARTER VARGAS-Senior-ST JOSEPH KNIGHTS RB
One of the best in the state that can do it all. Carter is fast that can run a 4.5, 40, has great hands and also a power back at 215lbs. Carter rushed for 1,300 yards, scored 18 TDs, caught 32 passes and ran back 2 kickoffs for TDs. Next stop will be playing for UC Davis.

PARKER VALDERRAMA-Senior-SHAFTER GENERALS OL
Will go down as the best O-linemen in school history. The SSL lineman of the year really took charge upfront for an outstanding young team and solidified an offense that averaged 375 yards per game. Parker got plenty of offers, along with getting it done in the classroom and the next stop will be playing for the Simpson University RedHawks.

HAROLD DUVALL-Junior-CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES WR/DB
Will come into 2024 as one of the top players in the state on both sides of the ball. Harold caught 31 footballs for 976 yards and scored 14 TD’s. On defense he made 57 tackles and had 3 picks. Harold is so fast, runs tremendous routes and has amazing hands. Look for Duvall to get plenty of offers including San Diego State, Washington State, Montana State Colorado State, and Fresno State.

ADAM DELGADO-Senior-KERMAN LIONS WR/DB
One of the best multi-sport athletes in the state, Adam is a dangerous WR/DB along with being one of the best pitchers in the Central Section. Adam has a 4.3 GPA and will have a decision to make at the next level because he is getting plenty of offers in both sports.

BRAYDEN BITTER-Senior-CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS DE/LB//TE
One of the best two-way stud players on both sides in the Central Section. Brayden lined up everywhere for the Central Section Champions and played sideline to sideline. The TRAC All Star is 6’3, 230lb, fast, physical, strong and was huge at TE for the powerhouse Broncos running attack. On defense, the TRAC All Star was always around the ball, making plays, mostly double-teamed and still made 96 tackles with 3 sacks. Brayden is also one of the best at Shot Put in the State. Brayden is getting offers for both sports and hasn’t decided yet on what he wants to do with college. CONNOR WARKENTIN-Senior-CENTENNIAL GOLDEN HAWKS DE
Outstanding career for the Golden Hawks and was a monster on the D-Line. The South Yosemite River League Defensive player of the year was always double-teamed and still finished with 75 tackles and 6 sacks. Connor is 6’5, 260lbs and the next stop will be playing for the Boise State Broncos.

JOSEPH BASS-Senior-TORRES TOROS RB/LB
Joseph Sea Bass is fast and strong playing both ways for the Toros. Bass is 6’1, 210 lbs, and one of the best two-way players in the Central Section. The Toros did everything they could to get the ball to their 3-year starter rushing for 1,477 yards, scored 24 TD’s, caught 26 footballs and made 92 tackles at LB. Joseph leaves Torres with a Division 4 Section Championship Ring.

KOBE GREEN-Senior-LEMOORE TIGERS DB
Kobe is not the biggest DB but he’s fast, physical and so aggressive that he plays like a hard-hitting linebacker. At WR, he caught 34 footballs for 506 yards and 6 TDS. Outstanding Kickoff returner and on defense he made 40 tackles and picked off 9 passes.

NOAH TASI-Junior-COALINGA HORNED TOADS QB
The Toads will be very good again in 2024 with their senior QB ready to lead them to a long playoff run after throwing for 2,882 yards and 28 TD passes. Noah has his favorite WR’s coming back with Dylan Teixeira (1,0,83 yards) and Gavin Watson (955 yards) & watch out for some school passing records to go down. Noah has already thrown for 5,807 yards with 60 TD passes in his soph/junior year.

JUNIOR HERLIHY-Senior-ARROYO GRANDE EAGLES RB/DB
The senior captain never came off the field in leading the Eagles to a Mountain league Championship. The Mountain league MVP played everywhere, catching footballs, rushing, making tackles and picking off passes. Every team needs a Junior Herlihy

LONDON ALEXANDER-Senior-GARZA GUARDIANS WR/DB
When you start a team from scratch, you just hope you get a go to player and the Guardians got a really good one to start the program with Alexander who never came off the field. The Guardians are the kings of the short passing game and they did everything they could to get the ball to Alexander with kickoffs & punt returns. At receiver he caught 49 footballs with 12 TD’s, played tremendous on defense and was one of the most dangerous players in the Central Section with the football.

JORDAN COLBERT-Senior-MEMORIAL PANTHERS RB/LB
JC was the Panthers MVP on both sides of the ball. SJM found out early that they needed Colbert because they had zero offense so wherever Colbert lined up, that’s where the ball was going. Colbert rushed for 1,500 yards at RB, had to step in at QB to save the team. The CMAC All Star linebacker/FS is 6’2, 205 lb, fast, physical and finished with 55 tackles. Next stop will be playing for the Wisconsin Badgers.

JONATHAN YBARRA-Junior-SANGER APACHES OL
Ybarra is 6’3, 300lb, good feet, strong, hard working, gets it done in the classroom and will come into his senior year as one of the best Offensive-linemen in the State. The Apaches are outstanding at running the football, can barely throw the ball overhand, and loves to run behind their big man! Think about that, the Apaches are not going to fool you with their offensive game plan and still dominated the line of scrimmage running for 3,800 yards. The CMAC linemen of the year will be recruited by plenty and starting with Cal Poly.

BRAYDEN STEVENSON-Sophomore-TULARE UNION TRIBE WR
One of the best young receivers in the Central Section after catching 78 passes for 1,236 yards and scoring 16 TD’s. Look for Brayden to be in the TU record books by the time he graduates.

KOURDEY GLASS-Junior-HANFORD BULLPUPS RB/DB
Will come into 2024 as one of the best players in the state. Glass never came off the field scoring 16 TDs at RB and also caught 6 TD passes. On defense plenty of teams didn’t throw his way playing DB, and had 5 sacks and 3 interceptions. Glass has a 3.4 GPA and is being recruited by plenty including San Diego State, Wyoming, Arizona, Oregon State, Sacramento State, and Fresno State.

BRYSON BAKER-Junior-SANGER APACHES WR/RB/ATHLETE
The CMAC Most Valuable Player and also one the most dangerous players to go against. When you played the Apaches, the game plan was to slow down Baker who is so fast and strong. You know you are good when the Apaches can’t throw the football and Baker is still being recruited by plenty including offers with Colorado State, Washington State, Nevada and Fresno State. If the Apaches can find some QB play, possible Central Section Champions with the 2024 team coming back.

DANIEL GOMEZ-Junior-HANFORD BULLPUPS QB
Daniel might just be the best QB in the Central Section with having an outstanding arm, makes great decisions and a very strong body. The WYL Offensive Player of the year threw for 2,885 yards with 28 YD passes, rushed for 400 yards and scored 3 TD’s. Daniel got plenty of offers and he has verbally committed to play for Fresno State. That means DG can now focus on his senior year playing solid football for the baby Bulldogs.

MIKE JONES-Senior-TEHACHAPI WARRIORS LB
Mike has been a stud for the Warriors for a long time and he had a tremendous senior year. The crazy silly playoff format cost the Warriors a chance to put a Division 3 Championship banner on the scoreboard after going 10-0 in the regular season.
The SY Mountain Defensive Player of the year was the leader on a very good Warriors defense with 116 tackles and also was a physical running back rushing for 553 yards and scoring 10 TD’s.

JACE DEMACABAIN-Sophomore-KENNEDY THUNDERBIRDS RB
Meet one of the best young running backs in the State and get ready for a record breaking career the next 2 seasons at Kennedy. Jace is 6’1, 210 lbs, rushed for 1,893 yards, scored 36 TD’s and also a very good state wrestler.

KANE COOKS-Senior-ATASCADERO GREYHOUNDS QB
The best to ever play at Atascadero especially his junior and senior year. His junior year he led the Greyhounds to the Division 6-A State Championship, throwing for 1,440 yards and rushing for 1,098 yards. Kane’s senior year was just as good, throwing for 1,537 yards and rushing for 1,051 yards, Kane did all this when there were 22 eyes on him on every play. Kane is smart, makes great decisions, has a good arm, fast and gets it done in the classroom with a 4.2 GPA

NATE ABBOTT-Senior-GOLDEN VALLEY BULLDOGS QB/DE
Had one of the best senior years in school history. The Co-SYHL offensive MVP rushed for 1,545 yards and a school-record 23 TDs, and had 17.5 sacks on defense. Now that’s a great senior year!

JAXTON SANTIAGO-Senior-CENTENNIAL GOLDEN HAWKS TE/WR
Outstanding Golden Hawk playing football and basketball. For football, Jaxton played hurt and still caught 56 footballs for 910 yards and scored 10 TDs. Jaxton is 6 ‘3, 220 lbs, got plenty of offers and the next stop will be playing football at Yale.

JEREMY YOUNG-Senior-ROOSEVELT ROUGH RIDERS WR
One of the best receivers that has played at Roosevelt in a while. Young caught 81 passes from senior Jackson Kloster for 1,285 yards and 19 TD’s. Next stop Jeremy will be playing at Fresno City.

MARIYON SLOAN-Sophomore-SHAFTER GENERALS WR/FS
One of the best young receivers in the state and the next few years will be exciting football in Shafter. The SSL MVP caught 46 passes for 800 yards and 17 TDs, returned 2 kickoffs for TD’s, returned 2 punts for TD’s and on defense, he made 59 tackles, picked off 3 passes along with a Pick-6. Sloan will be up for plenty of PAGMETER Top awards the next 2 years. Once Mariyon officially becomes a junior…the offers will be blowing up!

JAX KOONTZ-Junior-CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES MLB
Jax will come into 2024 as one of the best linebackers in the state playing at 6’2, 210 lbs. The TRAC All Star was huge in the middle for the Wolves playing sideline to sideline making 116 tackles, with 3 sacks and a pick.

JOSEPH RUIZ-Sophomore-EXETER MONARCHS WR/DB
JR is only a sophomore and already so good. The Tri-County Sequoia Defensive player of the year finished with 85 tackles and 10 interceptions at DB and caught 6 TD passes.

DEAGEN ROSE-Sophomore-CLOVIS COUGARS QB
One of the most improved QB’s and only getting better with every game he plays in. Rose is 6’2, 210 Lbs and also a force to tackle in the red zone scoring 14 TDs. Rose threw for 2,875 yards with 24 TD passes and will be the most recruited QB in the state the next 2 years with schools like Iowa State, University of Arkansas,Colorado State, Utah, Houston, Pitt and Virginia Tech. Stay tuned for a bunch more. Rose is also an outstanding Division 1 future College baseball player and will have the Cougars battling for the Central Section Championship in both sports the next 2 years. D Rose will be one of top multi-sport athletics in the state the next 2 years.

DANIEL MENDEZ-Senior-MADERA COYOTES RB/LB
What a year for the senior team leader! The CMAC All Star helped the Coyotes win some big games including Torres, SJM. Edison and Garza with the help of Mendez who rushed for 2,100 yards and scored 16 TD’s.

CONNOR LOPEZ-Senior-MISSION PREP ROYALS LB/WR
Connor never came off the field and was team captain. The Mountain league defensive MVP was a monster at linebacker making 103 tackles, playing sideline to sideline in leading the Royals.

JORGE HERNANDEZ-Senior-ST JOSEPH KNIGHTS C
One of the best Centers in the Central Section and had an outstanding career with the Knights. Jorge is 6’1, 330 lb Mountain League All Star and was the QB on the offensive line.

BODEN ST MARIE-Senior-BISHOP UNION BRONCOS QB
One of the best to ever play for the Bishop Union Broncos. Boden was the stud QB, the team Captain, the team Coach on the field that made great decisions, tremendous arm, with speed, outstanding athlete and simply was the team leader. Book it that someday, Boden St Marie will be a tremendous future High School Coach. Boden won 97% of his starts quarterbacking the Broncos and the next stop will be playing football on his scholarship at Seton Hall University.

ANDREW CAMARILLO-Senior-OROSI CARDINALS RB LB
The best to ever play at Orosi and set many school records for rushing yards and TDs.
His senior year Andrew rushed for 2,562 yards and scored 35 TD’s. For his career, Andrew rushed for 6,540 yards and scored 96 TD’s. That is top 10 in the Central Section All Time. Andrew is the first player in Orosi history to get college scholarship offers and Andrew could be playing football in the fall for the George Fox University Bruins in Oregon.

CJ JONES-Junior-SUNNYSIDE WILDCATS WR
CJ is 6’3 and will come into his senior year as one of the best receivers in the state. CJ wanted to play at SJM to get better and play against better defenses but Sunnyside pulled a full throttle to get him back and it worked. With all the SJM issues, it was a good move to come back. Jones caught over (some say) 1,000 yards and was simply better than anybody in the NYL. CJ has so much raw talent and sometimes CJ is told “just go get open and we will throw it up and go get it”. CJ is also an outstanding basketball player and is getting plenty of football offers with Washington State, Colorado State, Montana, Montana State, and San Jose State. There is no doubt CJ can play on Saturday’s if he wants it. College football life is light years different over Sunnyside football.

JESSE RODRIQUEZ-Junior-MENDOTA AZTECS RB
Keep an eye on the Aztecs in 2024 because plenty of starters return including Rodriquez who rushed for 1,361 yards and scored 13 TD’s. The Aztecs got hot in the 2nd half of the year and so did Rodriquez.

NAMI HOAG-Senior- MORRO BAY PIRATES RB/OLB
The senior Captain did it all for the Pirates and never came off the field. Nami has speed,will run you over and has tremendous hands catching the football. Nami rushed for 1,316 yards, scored 14 TD’s, caught 23 footballs for 700 more yards with 5 TDs and made 84 tackles & 2 sacks at linebacker. Nami gets it down in the classroom with a 4.14 GPA.

TY’SHAWN FLOWERS-Junior-ROSAMOND ROADRUNNERS QB
Ty would be an All Star on any team in the Central Section with being a dual-threat QB and will have the Roadrunners ready for Championship run in 2024. Ty was the High Desert League Offensive player of the year, throwing for 2,880 yards, 32 TDs, rushed for 660 yards and scored 13 TDs.

JULIEN VELLEZ-Junior-KERMAN LIONS RB
Outstanding leader for a team that got better and better with every game the Lions played. Julien was a big part of the offense rushing for 1,000 yards and great hands at wide receiver for a young Lions team and helped the Lions get to the Division 3 Section Championship game. Keep an eye on the Lions in 2024.

JACK KASINGER-Senior-ARVIN BEARS SLOT WR
Had one of the best senior years in Arvin history. Jack runs tremendous routes, has great hands, 4.5 speed and knows how to get open. Jack caught 75 footballs for 1,317 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Bears. Next stop will be playing at Bakersfield College.

GRAYSEN LEE-Junior-CENTENNIAL GOLDEN HAWKS OL
One of the biggest O- lineman in the Central Section and is getting better and better. Graysen is 6’6, 300 lbs, strong, with outstanding feet and will be getting plenty of offers starting now.

JACOB MOLINA-Junior-EXETER MONARCHS QB
One of the best athletic QB’s in the Central Section and the Monarchs will be ready for a nice playoff run with the Tri-County Sequoia MVP running the show his senior year. The Monarchs finished 11-2 his junior year after throwing for 2,297 yards, 28 TD passes, rushed for 700 yards and scored 11 TD’s.

EZEKIEL OSBORNE-Sophomore-SHAFTER GENERALS QB
By the time EZ graduates he will have every passing record in school history for a LONG time.
The South Sequoia League Offensive Player of the year threw for 2,677 yards and 35 touchdown passes and will have the Generals ready for Championship runs the next 2 years. Once EZ gets to his junior year, get ready for the offers to start flying in.

JACE GOMES-Junior-SAN LUIS OBISPO TIGERS QB
Jace is one of the best players on the Central Coast and his senior year, the Tigers will be tough to beat. Jace is a very good athlete that has a tremendous arm with speed. The Tigers offense is very dangerous with their 6’2 QB doing his thing.

CHERUB ADENIRAN-Senior-CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES LB/TE
The senior team leader that had a tremendous year for the T Wolves. The TRAC All Star has plenty of speed and quickness and did a great job stuffing run and finished with 110 tackles and 5 sacks.

JACKSON COOPER-Senior-ATASCADERO GREYHOUNDS OL/DL
JC is a back to back Pagmeter All Star and is a stud on both sides of the ball. The Greyhounds had the best couple of years in school history and Cooper was a big part of it up front.

TREVON GAFFNEY-Senior-LEMOORE TIGERS DE/DT
Trevon made the Tigers dangerous on defense and was so tough to block. Most teams knew where No 9 senior Captain was lined up because it took two-players to try to slow him down. The WYL Linemen of the year was a stud at fullback and finished with 70 tackles, 7 sacks. Next stop will be playing at Moorpark College.

JULIAN RAMIREZ-Senior-DINUBA EMPERORS DL/FB
Julian is a good old fashioned football player because he loves hitting people. At fullback in the red zone he was a TD machine and so tough to slow down. On the D-line he was so strong and so tough to block. The WYL Defensive player of the year made 60 tackles and had 11 sacks.

A.J. ANDERSON-Senior-TEHACHAPI WARRIORS RB/DB
One of the best to play at Tehachapi in a long time and one of the best players that played both ways. AJ was a running back who rushed for 1,260 yards and scored 12 TDs on the ground, caught 5 TD passes and made 52 tackles at Corner.

ISAIAH MORGAN-Junior-BORON BOBCATS LB/RB
The HDL Defensive Player of the year never came off the field and is a 3-sport athlete also in baseball & basketball. Isaiah is fast and electric. At running back he rushed for 1,100 yards and scored 13 TD’s and on defense he made 130 tackles.

TYLER SHELTON Senior-LIBERTY PATRIOTS OL
Will leave Liberty with 2 Central Section Championship rings and a State Championship ring. Tyler was the team leader upfront one of the best Centers in the Central Section along with playing tough on the D-line. Next stop will be playing at Bakersfield College.

MIGUEL SANCHEZ-Senior-MADERA COYOTES OL
One of the best lineman to play at Madera in a long time. The CMAC All Star was a 4-year starter and a big part of the outstanding Coyotes running game.

CARLOS YOUNG-Sophomore-SANGER APACHES DB
One of the best young stars in the state. The CMAC All Star is a lockdown corner, with speed and quickness and finished with 7 interceptions. Carlos is already the leader in the clubhouse for PAGMETER Defensive Back of the year in 2024.

JOSE SORIANO-Senior-TORRES TOROS QB
When the new school opened up, the Toros knew they had a very good athletic QB and Jose did not disappoint. Jose started as a sophomore and he was dangerous from the get-go. Jose’s senior year he led the Toros to the Division 4 Section Championship throwing for 2,366 yards with 29 TD passes, rushed for 400 yards and scored 6 TD’s.

SEBASTIAN DECASTRO-Senior-SIERRA PACIFIC GOLDEN BEARS MLB
Senior team leader for the Golden Bears. The Tri-County Defensive All Star finished with 120 tackles, 5 sacks and 1 interception. Every team needs a stud Middle Linebacker and the G Bears had Decastro.

CALEB SISCO-Senior-LIBERTY MADERA HAWKS LB/RB
The senior team leader had a tremendous career for the Hawks on both sides of the ball. The 3-year starter was fast, physical and played at 210 lbs. Every team that the Hawks played, always focused on slowing down Sisco.The 3-year starter was an outstanding running back, very good athlete and played sideline to sideline at linebacker.

EIAN HERNANDEZ-Senior-CORCORAN PANTHERS WR/RB/SS
A 3-year starter and had an outstanding career for the Panthers on both sides of the ball. Eian is fast, great hands, dangerous with the football, very coachable and team leader.

DA’ ZIR NEWHOUSE-Junior-MCLANE HIGHLANDERS WR/S
Newhouse will come into 2024 as one of the best players in the Central Section.
First time since 1995 the Highlanders have won 7 games and leading the way was their All Star on both sides of the ball. Newhouse has speed, is very physical, a team leader with great hands, a stud at safety and a 3-year starter. The Highlanders will be very good in 2024 and leading the way is Newhouse!

AJ FERNANDEZ-Senior-FIREBAUGH EAGLES RB/MLB
The senior team leader for a young team that got better each week. AJ was outstanding at running back with speed and great hands at receiver. AJ rushed for 1,000 yards, averaging almost 7 yards per carry. Caught 15 passes, was the kicker, and made 88 tackles with 2 sacks at Middle Linebacker. AJ is also very good in Basketball and baseball.

ISAIAH TAYLOR-Senior- WOODLAKE TIGERS RB/LB
The Tigers had to be the most injured team the last couple of years and senior leader Taylor was a huge part of the offense for a very physical team. Every team the Tigers played knew Taylor was the guy and he still rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 16 TD’s. The East Sequoia All Star was fast and a downhill runner.

PAXTON TOVSRUD-Senior-MINARETS MUSTANGS DE
Paxton would be an All Star on any team in the Central Section. Paxton is 6’1, 190 lbs, and fast from the edge that teams couldn’t slow down with 16 sacks and 77 tackles. Teams pretty much ran the other way from where No 34 lined up.

DYLAN TEIXEIRA-Junior-COALINGA HORNED TOADS WR
One of the best wide receivers/athletes in the state plays in Coalinga and get ready for a huge senior year from DT who caught 57 footballs for 1,099 yards with 14 TD’s in his junior year. Dylan is 6 ‘1, 190lbs, fast, has great hands, and already a 3-year starter, with 106 career receptions.

JACOB GARBISO-Senior-ARROYO GRANDE EAGLES OL
The Eagles are always known for having a tremendous O-line and Jacob kept the streak alive because Jacob is very good. JG is 6’3, 300 lbs and also is outstanding at throwing the Shot Put.

ISRAEL BRIGGS-Sophomore-MT WHITNEY PIONEERS WR
One of the best sophomore Receivers in the state. The East Yosemite League All Star is 6’6, with great hands, plays like Randy Moss, runs tremendous routes and can catch it in traffic. Israel has so much potential and is already getting recruited by so many teams.

ANDRE FLORES-Sophomore- DOS PALOS BRONCOS RB
A star is born in Dos Palos and this stud sophomore will only be getting better. Andre rushed for 1,424 yards, scored on 21 rushing TD’s and caught 29 passes with 4 more TD’s. The next 2 years at DP will be some exciting football with Flores leading the way.

CHASE FURTADO-Senior-BAKERSFIELD CHRISTIAN EAGLES DB
Chase had one heck of a career with the Eagles! Chase is a 3-sport athlete and in two years, the SYVL Defensive MVP had 16 interceptions along with 114 tackles. Next stop will be playing at Bakersfield College.

KOBIE WATSON-Sophomore-FRONTIER TITANS
A star was born this year with one of the best young and exciting players in the state with 6 ‘4, 205 lbs Watson who is fast, athletic and has great hands. The SYRL All Star was always double-teamed, made 35 catches and also returned punts. Kobe Already has offers to Washington University and Fresno State with plenty more coming…

NOAH LOPEZ-Sophomore-WASCO TIGERS RB
A star was born this year with Noah who rushed for 1,409 yards and scored 19 TD’s for the Division 5 Section Champions. The Tigers were the most improved team this year and they will be very good the next 2 years with Lopez running with the football.

LOGAN SLATON-Junior-GARCES RAMS RB/LB
The SYRL All Star will come into 2024 as one of the best Linebackers in the Central Section after an outstanding junior year with 83 tackles, 6 sacks. Logan is 6’1, 210lbs, fast and physical.

NELSON MALDONADO-Senior-LOMPOC BRAVES WR/FS
Nelson was the leader for a young team and never came off the field. Nelson caught 46 passes for 800 yards with 6 TD’s and made 57 tackles at Safety.

BODHI VERNERS-Senior-KINGSBURG VIKINGS LB
The Vikings are always very good on defense and leading the way was their senior who finished with 116 tackles. Bodhi is also an outstanding baseball player and gets it done in the classroom with a 4.1 GPA.

BRENT KROEZE-Senior-CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS
BK was under the radar all year long because the Cavaliers have the top RB with Bryson Donalson but the Cavaliers don’t win the State Championship without their outstanding senior QB who threw for 2,989 yards with 38 TD passes. The Tri-County Kings Canyon Offensive Player of the Year loved the pressure and always made his big completions when the Cavaliers needed it. Brent is the ultimate team player, cool, calm, leader in the huddle, makes great decisions, outstanding arm and very accurate.

TANNER WILSON-Junior-SUNNYSIDE WILDCATS QB
Even though Sunnyside makes up their own stats, Tanner is still an All Star. Here’s a QB that makes most of the plays up as he goes and that’s why it’s hard to game plan vs the Wildcats offense. Tanner is dangerous when he’s in the pocket because he’s wild and will throw the ball in traffic, trusting his receivers, will scramble around to extend the play and will take off with long runs. Tanner has a good arm, athletic and fast. He’s the biggest trash talker in the Central Section but backs it up with his play. Tanner is also a NYL All star Basketball player.

LOGAN STUDT-Senior-BUCHANAN BEARS LB
The TRAC All Star was the bright spot on a team that had a down year Logan has been hurt with injuries since his junior year and still performed at a high level making 80 tackles. Logan easily could have shut it down playing on a struggling Bears team and get ready for College but Logan is a big time competitor. Logan is 6’2, 225 lbs and had a nice High School career and the next stop will be playing at Fresno State.

DANIEL GONZALEZ-Senior-MISSION OAK HAWKS QB
DG was huge in helping the Hawks win their first Division 3 Section Championship in school history. Daniel is dangerous running/throwing the football and threw for 3,216 yards, 37 TD passes, rushed for 521 yards and scored 13 TDs. Now that’s a fantastic senior year!!

JEROD “BUBBA” SMITH-Junior-FOWLER REDCATS QB
One of the best small school players in the Central Section. Bubba is a QB that will pretty much run wild and that makes him dangerous. Plenty of other high schools wanted Bubba to transfer but he wanted to stay in Fowler and play small school football. With new Head Coach David Muro coming in, look for Bubba to have a very good senior year after throwing for 3,288 yards with 36 TD’s, rushing for 498 yards and scoring 7 TD’s. Bubba is also a very good baseball player/pitcher and close to breaking the Redcats strikeout record.

NICHOLAS GREWAL-Junior-KERMAN LIONS SS
A 6 ‘2 Safety that has speed and physical for the Lions defense. The Tri-County Kings Canyon All Star will come into 2024 as one of the best Strong Safeties in the Central Section.

CALEB NOESKE-Senior-CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS OL
Caleb was a 4-year starter and was a big part of the outstanding Caves offense upfront for the State Champions. The Tri-County All Star is also outstanding in track with the school record in throwing the discus. Caleb’s next stop will be playing football and throwing the discus at Northwestern College in Iowa.

CONNER BOHLIKEN-Senior-SANGER APACHES MLB/RB
Conner is fast and very physical at Middle Linebacker/Running Back. The CMAC All Star scored 8 TDs at RB and played sideline to sideline making 106 tackles along with 9 sacks at MLB.

DREW HARRIGAN-Senior-MISSION PREP ROYALS RB
The Central Coast Offensive Player of the Year: had a tremendous Mission Prep Career finishing with 3,715 rushing yards and scored 38 TD’s. Drew is fast, crafty, physical, great hands, team leader, 3.5 GPA and the next stop will be playing down the street at Cal Poly.

JOSUE ELENA-Senior-SANTA MARIA SAINTS QB
The senior team leader threw for 2,818 yards with 24 TD passes, Elena can scramble, can extend plays and throw on the run just as good as anyone.

LEONARDO GONZALEZ-Senior-GOLDEN WEST TRAILBLAZERS MLB
Leo was a man-beast roaming the line of scrimmage for the young Blazers. The senior leader finished with 108 tackles, an interception and 5 sacks. The EYL All Star is strong, physical and plays sideline to sideline and has a 3.60 GPA. Leo is getting plenty of offers and the next stop will be playing at Mcpherson College or Reedley College.

GUNNAR PIEPGRASS-Junior-CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS WR
Gunnar will come into 2024 as one of the best players in the Central Section after catching 59 passes for 1,013 yards with 11 TD’s. One of the best in the State in the Triple Jump in Track. Gunnar has a 4.02 GPA and will be the Cavaliers top player in 2024.

MARSHALL PITTMAN-Senior-SANGER APACHES LB
Marshal lined up everywhere and was so difficult to block and slow down. The CMAC All Star finished with 76 tackles and 6 sacks.
