VALLEY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION
The Central Grizzlies are the 3-peat Valley Champions beating Bullard 79-77
Jahmai Bartley with the winning basket.

DIVISION 2
Memorial Panthers beat the Selma Bears 71-66
Dameane Douglas was huge with 31 points

DIVISION 3
Immanuel Eagles beat the Sanger Apaches 68-57
Eagles with a big comeback in the 2nd half. Nate Kendricks with 34 points

DIVISION 4
Kerman Lions beat the Bakersfield Christian Eagles 55-49
Lions win their 1st section championship since 1955

DIVISION 5
California City Ravens beat the Corcoran Panthers 77-68
The Ravens set a new Central Section Record for 3-pointers made with 347. California City also tied McFarland in 1996 with 10-100 point games.

PAG METER TEAM OF THE YEAR
KERMAN LIONS

Congratulations to head coach Tim Hurt and the players in winning their 1st section championship since 1955 in a 55-49 win over Bakersfield Christian. The Lions finished the year with a 29-4 and best record in school history.

PAG METER PLAYER OF THE YEAR
JAYLAN GREEN, SO, Memorial Panthers

Pretty much a slam dunk choice especially when Jaylan is one of the top players in the Country. He is on the MaxPreps Sophomore All American team, the Cal Hi All State Sophomore player of the year. Jaylan is already one of the best players to ever play in the valley and only a sophomore! Jaylan averaged 27.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. 

PAG METER SMALL SCHOOL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
NATE KENDRICKS, SR, Immanuel Eagles

A scoring machine that led the valley averaging 29 points a game for the division 3 section champions. Nate was 3rd team all state and next stop will be playing for the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds. In the division 3 section championship game, Kendricks scored a game high 34 points and made 18-19 free-throws and now has scored 897 points 3rd best in section history.
Nate has set three school records with 897 points, 245 career three-pointers and 265 free-throws made for the season.

PAG METER COACH OF THE YEAR
GREG STREETS, Central Grizzlies

The Grizzlies are the 3-peat Valley Champions and Coach Streets had to coach his butt off to get his 3rd.
At the start of the year, the Grizzlies had injuries, discipline issues, players not playing hard, selfish play but Coach Streets did his best coaching keeping his troops on the right track and the Grizzlies will get another ring. Central had never won a valley championship until Coach Streets took over 3 years ago.

PAG METER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
WILL PALLESI, SR, SELMA BEARS

The best pure shooter in the valley and one of the best to ever play at Selma. Will was so much fun to watch because he did it all with the ball in his hand. Will was lights out from the 3 point line and a great passer. Will set a new section record for 3 point shots made at 311, passing the old mark of 309. Next stop UC San Diego.

PAG METER UNDERCLASSMEN OF THE YEAR
COLE ANDERSON, FR, Clovis West Golden Eagles

One of the best young players in the state that already has offers from San Diego St, UTEP, USF and soon to be Stanford.
Cole made the All State Freshman team and Sky’s the limit for a baby Stephen Curry. Cole has the quickest jump shot that it’s impossible to guard. Cole became the 6th player in Central section history to score 500 points or more in a season (507) and he set a school record by passing Terry Reason of 502 in 1978.

CAM’RON WILSON, SR, Central Grizzlies

Had an outstanding career for the 3-peat valley champion Central Grizzlies. Even though Cam’ron was injured for part of the year and was still voted 3rd team All State by Cal-Hi-Sports.
If it wasn’t for Wilson coming back strong by scoring 23 points per game along with 18 rebounds, the Grizzlies don’t get to Selland Arena. If Cam’Ron doesn’t get hurt he is in contention for Pag Meter Player of the year.

RONNIE STAPP, SR, Bakersfield Drillers

6’6 Stapp suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in his right knee his sophomore year and worked his tail off to be one of the best players the last 2 years. Stapp led the Drillers with 17.2 points, 10.6 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 4.1 steals.

JUNIOR RAMIREZ, SR, Selma Bears

The greatest athlete to ever play for the Selma Bears and the Bears will sure miss Junior’s leadership on and off the floor. Junior averaged 16 pts, 6 steals, 8 rebounds per game. Junior leaves Selma with 2 section championship Rings in football and basketball.

Justin Greiner, SR, Centennial Golden Hawks
Greiner made 119 3-pointers and averaged 25.9 points per game average. One of the best shooters in the valley.

DAMEON DOUGLAS, SR, Memorial Panthers

Transferred over from Hanford West and helped win the Panthers the division 2 section championship. Dameon hurt his ankle during the year and if he doesn’t get hurt, he might just be the Pag Meter Player of the year! Next stop will be at Loyola Marymount University.

EMOUNTAY MOULTRIE, SR, Roosevelt Rough Riders
Was the senior team leader for coach Chisom. He averaged 18 PPG and the Riders will miss him next year.

DANIEL RICO, SR, Kerman Lions
Huge part of the offense for the division 4 section champions. Anywhere on the wood floor was Rico’s range who averaged 17 points along with 11 rebounds per game.

LUNDEN TAYLOR, SR, Memorial Panthers

He was a big part of the Panthers winning the division 2 section championship on both sides of the ball. The point guard did such a great job directing the offense on a team with so many playmakers. LT averaged 13 pts, 9 steals, and 8 rebounds per game. Next stop UC San Diego.

SPENCER HEIMERDINGER, SR, Buchanan Bears

One of the tallest players in the valley at 6’9 that averaged 21 ppg along with 12 rebounds. Spencer will finish as the 2nd all time leading scorer in school history (Alex Fertig). Next stop will be at Fresno Pacific University.

ISAIAH HILL, Jr, Liberty Patriots
Outstanding 3 point shooter and one of the best athletes in the valley that averaged 22.8 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists per game. Very good football player but will play basketball at the next level. His senior year should be off the charts.

BREAUN HEIGHTS, SR, Sunnyside Wildcats
He did it all on both sides of the ball. The team leader averaged 14 ppg, along 6 steals, 8 assist, and 7 rebounds. The Wildcats made a tremendous run at the end of the year and almost made it to Selland and Breaun played his best basketball at the right time.

TIVEON STROUD, SR, Selma Bears
The most dangerous player in the valley and fun to watch. He was tall and so physical and became the 3rd player on the team to score 1,000 career points.

MIKEY FICHER, FR, Tulare Western Mustangs
A star was born this year in Tulare with this freshman who averaged 18 ppg. Mikey was also on the Cal-Hi All State Freshman team

ANTHONY MARTINEZ, SR, Clovis Cougars

Anthony leaves Clovis as the all time leading scorer in school history. Anthony is a good old fashion high school player that gets after it averaging 23 PPG.

AMARI STROUD, SR, Sunnyside Wildcats
Once Amari figured he was way more than just a 3 point shooter, the Wildcats became a dangerous team. At 6’10, Amari started to play inside and out like his hero Kevin Durant. Chico State is going to be soooo happy with Amari!

ANDREW PARKER, Sr, Bullard Knights
Outstanding career for the Knights. He’s fast, can shoot and is a slasher to the basket. The CMAC All Star averaged 19 points a game and next stop will be playing at Bellevue University in Nebraska

BEN YUROSEK SO, Bakersfield Christian Eagles
Will be up for Pag Meter Player of the year by the time he is a senior. Outstanding in football and basketball who averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds per game for the Eagles.

BRANDON RECEK, SR, Clovis West Golden Eagles
He was the big force inside and when Brandon was on …so went the Golden Eagles. Brandon averaged 15 ppg/12 rebounds and had so many big games for C Dub.

JACOB SHUBIN, JR, Kerman Lions
Jacob was 2nd for the small school Pag Meter Player of the year. Jacob was tough on both sides of the ball who averaged 17 ppg and 18 rebounds per game. A leader in the clubhouse for Pag Meter All Star next year.

EDWARD TURNER, JR, Foothill Trojans
A 6-foot-7 player that was so dangerous with the basketball. He can play guard, forward or center and averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks per game.

MORICE NORRIS, SR, Sanger Apaches
Outstanding year for the runner up division 3 Apaches. The Apaches offense was real good and the leader was Norris who averaged 21 PPG.

CASH WILLIAMS, SR, Central Grizzlies
Cash has the perfect name (Cash) because he was money in big situations for the 3-peat valley champions. Cash was a big time scorer and the valley’s best trash talker at the sametime but could always back it up. Cash averaged 18 PPG and loved to take the big shot.

The Pag Meter team put together a list of outstanding names that were all swirled together. All these players did so much for their teams. We wanted to recognize all these players and what they meant to their teams.  Some will be Pag Meter All Valley All Stars 1st team next year. JOB WELL DONE!
