AYDEN HERNANDEZ had a big game on defense for the CLOVIS COUGARS as they beat the Bullard Knights 53-0. Ayden made 6 tackles and picked off 2 passes that each went for Pick-6’s.

FOOTBALL NEWS
Hanford West Huskies Head Coach NICO HERRON in his first year is OUT as Head Coach.
Coach asked too much of his players and apparently the administration and some parents didn’t like that. Holding kids accountable is the kryptonite to some administrations and parents.
Nico Herron is a really good guy and was a great Linebacker at Fresno State. Nico commuted from Fresno every day to coach at a place that will NEVER be successful with the way it’s going.
What the Hanford West administration doesn’t understand is that the Hanford West talent pool has found their way to the powerhouse Hanford High school down the street or to the new beautiful school in Hanford, Sierra Pacific. If you’re going to play football you will end up being a Bullpup or Golden Bear. Basically there’s no reason to go to Hanford West if you are a football player.
Hanford West football has NO tradition, NO alumni support, NO football booster program, NO JV PROGRAM, lack of funds, horrible football facilities and you have to share a stadium with Hanford and Sierra Pacific.
It’s unheard of that a school with 1,300 kids doesn’t have a JV team. No JV team means your football program has zero chance and you add in a weak administration. Plenty of young Hanford West football players have never played football before and are forced to play on the varsity.
The biggest problem in Hanford is that the district built the beautiful Sierra Pacific high school too soon. Hanford West didn’t even have 10 graduating classes when Sierra Pacific opened. Hanford West is in a losing battle with Hanford and Sierra Pacific. Hanford last spring went open enrollment because Sierra Pacific was over capacity and Hanford/HW had some open spots.

It’s amazing that Hanford West even had a great person like Nico Herron apply for the Head Coaching job. Hanford West should have bought Nico a new car and gas to coach at HW but the weak administration ran him out. SMH.
Hanford West never gave Coach Herron a chance. Nico was willing to put in the time and the Hanford West administration folded to the pressure of parents. HW needed to give Nico a chance and they simply blew it. HW has had so much turnover and they need to support a Head Coach for years to come. The golden rule is if the administration is weak, the football program has zero chance to be successful and Hanford West is the perfect example of what NOT to do.
Hanford West needs to have a Coach with someone who is willing to be there for 5-10 years.
The interim Coach will be Sergio Boyd who graduated from HW in 2003 WHO HAS NEVER COACHED BEFORE. That’s what the administration feels about the football program. Hanford West will be hiring it’s 8th football Coach in 8 straight years. Nick Saban couldn’t turn this program around in 1 year.

Bottom line-Hanford West is a shit show/train wreck and Nico Herron is way too good to be coaching at Hanford West with a non supporting administration. To you weak Hanford West parents, football is not an easy game to play. Football will make your sons (win or lose) better men/people for their future but you ran a great guy out of town.

And yes, Sunnyside continues to cheat. Against McLane in the win 13-6, TW threw 2 INTs, fumbled twice with 0 TD passes but Maxpreps showed 0 INTs and 1 TD pass. Simply embarrassing and 4 years of this shit. Don’t worry Sunnyside, our local media will suck on you like it has done for 4 years.

The Eagles are battle tested but even though the Tribe have played a weak schedule so far, they are good on both sides of the ball. The Tribe needs to make a statement on the road that they are a contender. This is the big Tribe test.
The Eagles beat Stockdale 55-0 and there was a fight. Have not heard much about it and if anything happened with suspensions. This should be a real good game.

The Panthers beat Dinuba 25-24. Rashad Perry threw a 15 yards TD pass to Joseph Stevenson with .39 seconds to go and the game winner.
