PAGMETER TEAM OF THE YEAR
MEMORIAL PANTHERS

This was a very close call with St Joes but we went with the Division 2 state Champion Panthers who won their first State Championship in school history beating Pacifica Christian 58-47. Head Coach Brad Roznovsky is now the all-time leader in career wins at Memorial with 202…and counting. The Panthers won their 8th straight CMAC Championship.

PAGMETER SMALL SCHOOL TEAM OF THE YEAR

SIERRA CHIEFTAINS
The Chieftains are a very small school with a little bit over 400 students and had to play up because of this crazy playoff format. It will be a LONG SHOT if a small school will ever win a championship again because of the playoff system and Sierra came so close. Sierra went undefeated winning the Northwest Sequoia league championship, lost to a very good Kingsburg Vikings team in the Division 3 Section Championship and lost in the Division 5 State Championship game. The small school Chieftains lost to a Lynwood team that should have been in Division 2. Head Coach Ryan Watt has done a tremendous job with this team.

PAGMETER PLAYER OF THE YEAR
TOUNDE YESSOUFOU-Sophomore-ST JOSEPH KNIGHTS

Tounde is already one of the top players in the Country and has the makings of a future Jalen Green who is a former SJM Panthers and now Houston Rocket. Tounde is the most dominant player and nobody can slow him down.
Tounde is 6 ‘6, averaged 28 ppg, 11 rebounds, 4 steals a game and is being recruited by the top colleges in the Country including UCLA, Arizona, UNLV, Arkansas, Portland, UCSB, Cal Poly, Washington and counting. The list will continue to grow.
The Knights won the Central Section Championship and will be the favorites for the next 2 years.

PAGMETER SMALL SCHOOL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
LOGAN KILBERT-Junior-SIERRA CHIEFTAINS

The best 2-way player that also plays football. Logan scored 1,065 points, the leading scorer in the Central Section with averaging 29 points in leading the Chieftains to the Division 5 state championship game. Logan is a CalHi All State player with a 4.14 GPA and is being recruited by many.
In football, Logan caught 70 passes for 1,584 Yards, scored 30 TDs and is being recruited in football by Cal Poly, UC Davis, Sacred Heart University, William & Mary University, University of North Dakota, Harvard, BYU, UCLA & Fresno State. Logan is getting recruited big time in 2 different sports and that is rare in today’s world. Get ready for a huge senior year!

PAGMETER BEST BIG MAN AWARD
MIKE DAVIS-Senior-MEMORIAL PANTHERS

This is my favorite award because watching a big man play in the Central Section is becoming a dinosaur. Why? The dribble drive offense is perfect for smaller players who love to shoot the 3-pointer and big players like Mike Davis are tough to slow down. Playing in the paint for some teams is like Kryptonite but not for SJM and Davis who is 6 ‘7,and plays like he’s 7’ 2. Davis controls the paint and will post up with a thing of beauty. Davis was the Division 2 Cal-Hi State Player of the year after leading the Panthers to a Division 2 State Championship averaging 18 points & 14 rebounds a game. Davis has scored 1,653 career points along with 1,074 rebounds.

PAGMETER COACH OF THE YEAR
RYAN WATT-SIERRA CHIEFTAINS

With this silly playoff format of screwing the small schools, it took a division 4 Section Championship away from a small overachieving team with less than 400 students in the entire small mountain school. Coach Watt has done a tremendous job winning 31 games and getting to the State Division 5 State Championship losing to a D2 State team. Watt was the Cal-Hi D5 State Coach of the year and get ready next year for another real good Chieftains team.
