The Pirates come in beating Fresno High 38-0. The defense is playing good football. RB Ryan Warkentin rushed for 225-yards, scored 2 TDs, caught 3 passes for 68 yards, and caught a TD pass. QB Jacob Rocha went 10-20 for 173-yards and 2 TDs. The Rough Riders beat McLane 28-14.
The X factor the Pirates defense is very good and goes unnoticed. The Riders have played a much tougher schedule and should be battle tested. Can the Riders defense tackle Warkentin? NO. The Pirates offense starts and ends with Warkentin. Ryan is one special player! The amazing thing is everybody in the stadium knows Warkentin is going to get the ball and you still can’t stop him. SOOOOOOO TRUE!

The Vikings beat CVC 12-8. The defense stepped up and gutted out a win after junior QB Ethan Winslow went out with an injury. Trace Jackson scored a big TD.
The X factor is the Vikings offense coming in banged up and can the defense do it again this week? Ethan Winslow has a fracture on his non-throwing arm and could be out 4-5 weeks so, stepping in at QB will be sophomore Max Warkentin who started a game during the spring and helped beat a good Selma team. Max is a Dinuba kid and going up against his friends. Priceless.

The Apaches come in beating Madera 35-7. The Apaches have won 4-straight games and are healthy. Leading the way is RB Ashton Rodriquez, Sam Shidan, Brady Stovall and Nikko Ortega.
The Knights loss to Memorial 24-17. Roland Russo went 12-17 for 153-yards and 2 TD passes. (Jayden Davis 38-yards & Jalyn Utendahl 1-yard)
The X factor this is always a great game and the 42nd meeting between the Apaches/Knights with the Knights leading the series 23-18. The Knights had their chances against the Panthers especially with an epic goal line stand starting the 4th quarter when the Knights were stuffed on 4 straight plays from the 1-yard line. That’s tough to get over. Bullard didn’t play to win, and they will need the offense to open up this week to win at Chukchansi.
This used to be the Armenian Bowl when Chuck Shidan was the Apaches head coach vs Don Arax, now this year it’s the Cousin Bowl with Apaches Ashton Rodriguez vs Knights Roland Russo. Roland grew up in Sanger.

The X factor Coyotes outstanding QB Beau Green is back and not at 100% but he’s back and that shows me Beau has big time heart that loves to play. Beau is being recruited and has offers so every college should check this kid out. Plenty of players would shut it down. Beau is not running like before the injury so the Coyotes could be throwing quicker passes against the speedy Tigers defense that will bring pressure. The Tigers offense is getting better and leading the way is junior QB Yaj Vance.

The score looks horrible, but the Stallions marched up and down the field with 74 plays to 37 but got stuffed close to the goal line all night long. The Stallions simply don’t match up with the size of the Panthers.

Mission Oak beat Monache 27-26. The Hawks had a 26-0 lead, took the starters out and almost blew it. The Hawks have a new QB with Rudy Navarro who comes from Farmersville, he went 17-25 for 291-yards and 3 TD passes. Speedster Mike Iriye moves to running back, scored a TD and caught a TD.
The X factor is the Hawks defense vs the hot Mustangs offense.
Now here is the sad part of things, if the Hawks win, the new silly playoff format will move the division 4 Hawks into division 2. This system makes you reconsider winning.

The X factor the Tribe number of players are down, but the Tribe will play hard for 48 minutes. The Badgers have been shorthanded and that is thanks to the worst administration in the state with very little Badgers practice time. With the Yosemite administration, there’s always a chance that this game could get canceled because there are too many potholes by the stadium. The Yosemite administration looks for things to cancel. If you are playing the Badgers, have your phone charged up so you can be ready to play another team. Look for the Tribe to roll in the mountains and it’s sad the Badgers have no chance.

The Rams found out Friday that Frontier had to cancel their game. It’s completely not fair to the Rams and Frontier should have to give up a home game to Garces because of it.

The Bears come in beating Central 24-17. The defense stepped up on some big plays. QB Jayden Mandal scored the game winning TD on a beautiful 5-yard bootleg and threw a 33-yard TD pass to Travis Sirwet. Michael Runnels returned the opening kickoff for a 98-yard TD.
The Cougars beat Clovis North 42-28. Tristan Risley rushed for 161-yards and scored on a 4-yard TD. Nate Johnson threw 2 TD passes, rushed for 100-yards, and scored 2 TDs. Every team’s game plan is slow down Risley and he still goes over 150-yards almost every game.
The X factor is the defensive side of the ball. To beat Clovis, the Bears will focus on containing Risley and keeping Johnson in the pocket. Johnson is not a pocket passer and very dangerous when he gets loose. The Cougars have the offense that can beat the Bears. Will the Bears come in with a Grizzlies hangover? It’s possible. The Grizzlies played a below par game and still had a chance to tie it. Can the Cougars defense slow down the Bears steady machine? So many questions need to be answered. The Cougars have some big injuries. Cougars Head Coach Rich Hammond has been sick all week and will probably miss the game.

The Broncos come in losing to Clovis 42-28. Jake Parnigian scored 2 TDs. Milan Bryant scored a TD. Paul Sharp scored a TD and rushed for over 200 yards. The Hamm boys of Baylee and Rylee are everywhere on defense.
The Golden Eagles lost to Hanford 57-29. Sophomore QB Tyler Patrick has thrown 10 TD passes and not playing full time with the rotating QB situation.
The X factor the Broncos scored 28 points against a very good Cougars defense and the Broncos can barely throw it over hand. The Broncos running backs are so fast and are very tough to cover when they are running pass patterns out of the backfield. The Golden Eagles can throw it overhand but rotating QBs will eventually crush an offense. With the horrible locker room incident at Clovis West, it has taken its toll on the CW football team. Look for the Broncos to roll until the Golden Eagles can figure out what they want to do on offense. The good news for the Golden Eagles is they are definitely a division 2 team if the Golden Eagles enter the playoff/tournament. Clovis West might just shut it down after the Clovis game in week 11.
