PAGMETER DIVISION 3 BASEBALL 2021 RANKINGS AND TEAM NOTES

No 1 Ridgeview Wolf Pack (14-10) (5-10 SOUTH YOSEMITE) DIVISION 3 SECTION CHAMPIONS-DIVISION 4 STATE CHAMPIONS
The Wolf Pack playing in the tough SWYL. Leading the way will be senior Jesse Villalobos, and junior Jorge Gutierrez.

No 2 Kerman Lions (21-3) (14-1 NORTH SEQUOIA CHAMPIONS)
The Lions have struggled with adversity early. Before the Lions first game, the Lions were quarantined due to the silly Covid testing for a week and a half and then lost a crucial Senior Christian Chavez due to a broken wrist. The Lions then lost another key component in Giovanni Groppetti to a fractured ankle. But through all the adversity they believe it will only make the team stronger. The Lions have a very good mix of experience and influx of fantastic young freshmen! Senior leader Daylon Yount who will play next year at Tabor College will knock in plenty of runs. Junior Devon Daniel is one of the better LHP in the section and he has proven that early in the year. The only sophomore Dominic Puentes has already verbally committed to Saint Mary’s and has power. The two young freshmen are Gilbert Acosta who is a strong C/3B and Adam Delgado who is a P/INF. The best outfielder in the North Sequoia is CF Julian Zapata and the Lions igniter with his speed. The Lions mix of youth and leadership will only prove to help battle throughout the season. The Lions are grateful to be back and cannot wait to continue to make the town of Kerman proud!

No 3 Templeton Eagles (19-7) (13-5 MOUNTAIN)
The Eagles were very good last year and will be good again and leading the way is senior ace Robbie Lardner.

No 4 Reedley Pirates (22-6-1) (13-2 NORTH YOSEMITE)
The Pirates were the heavy favorites last year until the world ended. This year the young Pirates are back at it and when football ends, they will be even better. Leading the way is junior ace Will Gagnon who is real good. Look for Mike Rios, (playing football) Matt Diaz and Bryadan Rhodes to pitch plenty of innings. Junior Ryan Warkentin is the leadoff hitter who can hit and is fast. Ryan is also one of the best football players in the central section. The Pirates can hit with Sergio Marquez, Dustin Wang, Matt Diaz, Hector Palomera, David Pimental, Brayden Rhodes and Hunter Gobby.

No 5 Firebaugh Eagles (21-8-1) (9-1 WEST SIERRA) Fowler Easter Champions
Leading the Eagles will be senior pitchers Andres Altamirano, Aviram Ramirez and Cristian Solano behind the plate.

No 6 Independence Falcons (15-5) (9-0 SOUTH YOSEMITE CHAMPIONS)
Should enter the playoffs with a 7 game winning streak

No 7 Garces Rams (8-)8
The Rams are young and playing a tough schedule.

No 8 Immanuel Eagles (12-11) (6-5 CENTRAL SEQUOIA)
The Eagles lack varsity experience on the mound and will get better and better each week. Joseph Juarez, Kolton Vogt, Calob Hayes, Matt Friesen and Sam Swearengin (transfer from Fresno Christian) will be the guys that log the most innings on the mound. If the Eagles can swing the bats, the good pitching will keep them in every game.

No 9 Nipomo Titans (10-12) (7-8 OCEAN)
The Titans offense will be much better this year. Keep an eye on Junior Wade Arkinson and senior Lucas Ortega.

No 10 Fowler Redcats (16-10) (9-3 W SEQUOIA)
There are a lot of new faces on the 2021 Redcats Baseball team.  Only Senior Christian Sweidy, a four year starter, has played in two full varsity seasons.  The rest of the players have played 8 or less varsity games going into this year.  In spite of their inexperience, the Redcats are a very determined and competitive team, who will play hard every inning of every game

No 11 Chowchilla Tribe (8-12) (8-7 NORTH SEQUOIA)
Leading the Tribe will be senior Brenton Holt and senior 6’2 Clay Curutchet who both can also swing the bats and pitch.

No 12 St Joseph Knights (8-18) (3-15 MOUNTAIN)
Football is now over and the Knights will be much better. The Knights had 7 players listed on the varsity football roster and all start on both teams with Noah Skarda, Caden Cuccia, Max Stineman, Sebastian Ramirez, Brock Marcois, Travis Royal and Nate Steenerson. The Knights need to stay healthy to have a good season.

No 13 North Stars (10-9-1) (7-8 SOUTH YOSEMITE)
The Stars will be young when they get started.

No 14 Mission Prep Royals (6-17) (5-10 OCEAN)
When football is over the Royals will be much better.

No 15 Dinuba Emperors (4-21) (3-9 CENTRAL SEQUOIA)
The Emperors are good now that football is over

No 16 Hoover Patriots (6-14) (5-9 NORTH YOSEMITE)
The Patriots are very young.

No 17 Selma Bears (8-11) (4-7 CENTRAL SEQUOIA)
When football is over the Bears will be better.

No 18 Hanford West Huskies (5-16) (2-8 CENTRAL SEQUOIA)
Once football is over the Huskies will be much better.

No 19 Porterville Panthers (6-20) (2-12 EYL)
The Panthers have the potential to be good and leading the way will be junior pitcher Albert Munoz and freshman pitcher Louie Torres. The leadoff hitter and LF will be Noah Bowers. SS will be sophomore Cristian Sanchez. Catcher Jonathon Delgado. If the young guys come through, then watch out for the Panthers.

No 20 Atascadero Greyhounds (2-22) (2-16 MOUNTAIN)
Senior ace Justin Vose returns, and he is good. Once football is over the Hounds will be much better.
