Last year Cade would have been the star running back on any team in the section, but the Buchanan Bears had Mr. Georgia, Kendall Milton. Cade will be one of the best 2-way players in the section. Cade has speed and power at running back and at linebacker.

IAN JERNAGIN-Junior-Garces Rams (RB)
Everybody just knew it was a matter of time before he followed his old Coach Paul Golla. Ian leaves Bakersfield as expected and is ready to take off with his outstanding speed and power. Ian is a dangerous running back that hits the hole hard and will break so many tackles. Look for offers to start rolling in and starting with Colorado,

CARLOS MACK, Junior, Edison Tigers (S/WR)
He has plenty of speed with great hands. The Tigers will do what they can to get the ball in the hands of their future All Star receiver.

MATTHEW NOLT-Senior-Clovis West Golden Eagles (OL)
Nolt is a very physical Offensive Tackle with great feet at 6’4, 270lbs. He is a tremendous pass blocker along with being a pancake run blocker. I’m looking for Matthew to be a Pag Meter All Star in this season and he got his first offer starting with Whittier College.

AUSTIN BENO-Senior-El Diamante Miners (RB)
Beno comes in as the team leader and 4-year starter. Austin will be ready for a big year running the football.

LAWRENCE STELL-Junior-Washington Union Panthers
Keep an eye on this 6’2 QB because there will be no more rotating like last year. Lawrence has a cannon and has speed. Stell is ready to lead the Panthers to a possible championship run. Stell will put plenty of pressure on the defense with his talent of stepping up in the pocket or running.

ISAIAH RUBIO-Senior-Bakersfield Christian Eagles (OL)
Isaiah comes into this year as one of the best offensive guards in the Central Section. The defending state champions will look to their SYL All Star for leadership on and off the field.

The offers are rolling in with Cal Poly, William & Mary, Fordham, Lehigh, Bucknell, University of San Diego, and Yale. Look for the Mountain West and PAC 12 coming in soon.

MYLES LEE-Junior-Edison Tigers, (RB)
One of the hardest working players in the Central Section. Myles is the old fashion high school football player that loves to compete. He is a strong physical runner, low center to gravity and that will run by you or run you over.

A.J. CLEVELAND-Senior-Highland Scots
AJ had a heck of a junior year throwing for 2,025 yards, with 28 TD passes. In 2020, AJ is simply the best player in the SEYL and will put up silly numbers again this year.

A STAR IS BORN LIST AND/OR LOOK FOR BIG YEARS FROM THESE PLAYERS

This is the year of the Quarterback with so many young talented QB’s ready to roll.
The Central Section has plenty of returning QB’s and that should make a huge difference in their teams’ success. Some QB’s on this list have the makings to be a Pag Meter All Stars in a hurry.

CLAY OMOHUNDRO-Senior-Bishop Union Broncos (QB)
Clay is back and ready to roll. The defending Division 6 Champions will be ready for another run at the title with Clay at QB.

JOSH RODRIGUEZ-Senior-Parlier Panthers (QB)
One the best to ever play at Parlier and I am expecting a big year from Josh who is one heck of a dual threat QB.

MARIO COSMA-Freshman-Roosevelt Rough Riders
Mario who has the makings to be very good. Mario is the young cousin of Trent Tompkins

EVAN LARA-Senior-Orosi Cardinals (QB)
The Cardinals are the favorites to win it all in division 6 and leading the way will be their senior QB who last year threw for 1,759 yards and 19 TD’s.

MICHAEL BELL-Junior (QB) and CARSON DEAN-Sophomore-Memorial Panthers (QB)
I put these future stars together. This will be a good old fashion battle for the starting job.
6’1 Bell is a fantastic athlete and baseball player and 6’2 Carson just transferred in from Clovis and is a pure passer. Both have the makings to be very good. The Panthers will have a huge O-line and Hornbeak in the backfield. The QB’s job will be to direct the Panthers machine.

DAYTON TAFOYA-Sophomore-Clovis West Golden Eagles
Hey Central Section, meet Dayton Tafoya because the Golden Eagles will have the best QB for the next 3 years in the Central Section. Dayton plays like Russell Wilson and wants to get better every day by working his ass off. Dayton has a strong arm, such a quick release, can move around in the pocket and can run.

LEVI MANNING-Sophomore-Centennial Golden Hawks
A star will be born with the mini Cody Kessler because this kid has the makings to be real good. Levi’s dad played at Utah State, Uncle played at Purdue University, so you know the bloodline is ready for a future division 1 QB. Levi is very smart and has a cannon for an arm. Look for Levi to be the Top QB in the south valley with many offers soon to be rolling in.

CHRIS QUALLS-Junior-Bakersfield Drillers (DB)
Hard working player that will be a star and one of the best in the Central Section by the time he graduates. Already with an offer from Nevada.

Jorge had a good sophomore year throwing for 1,800 yards and his junior year will be even better. Jorge’s job is to get the ball in the hands of his athletes.

IAN KIRBY-Junior-Buchanan Bears (QB)
Ian was thrown into the fire last year and in his first game he had to battle the champion Central Grizzlies. The Bears are now his team and look for Ian to step up and make the Bears a contender again.

GARRETT JONES-Senior/ ROLAND RUSSO-Junior/JAYDEN MANDAL-Sophomore-Clovis North Broncos (QB)

This will be the best battle for the starting job in the state! Garrett came on last year and showed the coaching staff that he is ready to take this team over. Last year Garrett was either spot on or way off. Can he get more consistence? Roland can put the ball anywhere it needs to be with accuracy but also needs to be more consistence. The sophomore phenom, Jayden Mandal, is 6’0 195 and has a tremendous arm. Jayden who just verbally committed to play baseball at Fresno State needs experience and his QB vision is improving. This could be a battle right up to scrimmage time in December. The Broncos are looking good at the QB spot for years to come.

ETHAN ROYAL-Senior-Arroyo Grande Eagles (QB)
The Eagles senior leader returns and he is a physical runner who can play-action pass very well. Ethan is the coach on the field and that gives the Eagles a very good advantage.

JUSTIN VINK-Senior-El Diamante Miners (QB)
Last year Justin went down with an injury in the first game and the Miners season never recovered. With Justin back at 100%, the Miners will be very good with plenty of players returning.

KERSON EVERETT-Junior-Redwood Rangers (RB)
Every year the Central Section has a running back that goes off with a big year. This future star could be the guy with his speed.

JOSE LUNAR-Senior-Sanger Apaches (WR)
The Apaches go to wide receiver who runs tremendous routes and team leader.

TRAVIS PLUGGE-Junior-Garces Rams (QB)
The Rams have the making to be very good and it starts with their 6’5, 220 lb QB. Justin transferred in from Frontier who got some valuable playing time last year as a sophomore. He has a tremendous arm and will only get better and better.

JACK KAISER-Senior-Stockdale Mustangs (QB)
The Mustangs return their senior QB after throwing for over 1,000 yards. Look for Jack to have a big year for the Mustangs.

JOHN PENA-Senior-Sanger Apaches
John is working hard and will have the Apaches offense dangerous heading into this season. He is one of the best in the play action/option offense.

DAVID ZAVALA-Senior-Madera Coyotes (QB)
Keep an eye on this senior QB who has plenty of weapons. David can run, move around in the pocket, and has a real good arm. Zavala has the makings to be very good and will have the Coyotes ready for a, playoff run.

ISAIAH JONES-Junior-Independence Falcons (QB)
The Falcons are feeling good this year with their returning senior QB. Isaiah will be the leader that the Falcons need.

JADON PRINCE-Senior-Atascadero Greyhounds (RB/QB)
Jadon will be a big part of the offense at running back and at QB. The Hounds will want the ball in the hands of their senior stud.

DAYLON LEACH-Junior-West Vikings (QB/RB)
Daylon returns and is one heck of a running QB. With a year of experience with throwing the ball, the Vikings offense will be so much better in 2021

JOEY RAMIREZ-Senior-Selma Bears (QB)
Joey is a winner and the defending Division 4 champions had a very dangerous offense and the leader is their QB. Joey can run the Bears offense to perfection with running, passing and play action. The Bears will be very good again in 2021.

ANDRES ALTAMIRANO-Senior-Firebaugh Eagles (QB)
The Eagles return their QB for new head coach Mason Rodman and a new coach always loves to come in with a returning QB. Andres threw for 1,200 yards and the Eagles offense will be ready to light up the scoreboard.

TONY WOOLSEY-Senior-Chowchilla Tribe (QB)
Tony returns and is ready for a big year. The Tribe will be dangerous on offense with plenty returning from last year. Tony has a very good arm and can run.

SULLIVAN FOCKE-Senior-Monache Marauders (QB)
The 6’3 senior QB returns and the Marauders will be much improved. Sullivan has a real good arm and the Marauders return plenty.

RICKY ESTERWOOD-Senior-Bakersfield Drillers (QB)
With a year of experience with the new Drillers offense spread attack, look for the 6’2 senior who has a 4.5 GPA to have a big year.

KEVIN FRANCO-Senior-Morro Bay Pirates (QB)
Kevin returns for the beach boys and the Pirates will be much improved with their senior QB leading the way.

TRENTON BABB-Senior-Caruthers Blue Raiders (QB)
Trenton has played with some tremendous running backs the last 2 years with Chris Puga and Bobby Staley. This is now Trenton’s team and the offense will start with their senior lefty QB.

MATT ORDUNEZ-Senior-Mission Oak Hawks (QB)
QB Matt returns and will be ready for his new head coach Michael Machado. Coach Mike loves to throw the ball and his new QB can really run and move around in the pocket.

TYSON DOZHIER-Junior-Shafter Generals (QB)
Tyson will be working hard to take over this team and will only get better and better. Tyson is a tremendous 3-sport athlete and the spring; he will be very busy.

CHRIS LOPEZ-senior-Exeter Monarchs (QB)
The Monarchs are expecting big things from their senior returning QB. Chris is 6’1 215 lbs and can throw it and run it.

JACOB ROCHA, Sophomore, Reedley Pirates
Jacob has the potential to be very good and to help turn the Pirates team in a championship contender. Jacob is a pure passer and lookout for the Pirates to change the offense around for their young gun. I love to see a team change around the talent instead of a team keeping the same offense and having the talent cater to the old style
