2017 Recap

Mendota moved up to Division 4, Failed to make the postseason for the first time since 2007
Firebaugh claimed the WSL Title and made it to the Division 5 Championship Game but fell to Caruthers.
Coalinga bounced back from a 4-6 record in 2016 to a 7-5 record which included a 2nd Round Appearance in the Division 5 Playoffs
Dos Palos failed to stay at or above .500 under new Head Coach Kevin Jones
Tranquillity fell below .500 for the 2nd straight year (2016, 2017)
Avenal have managed only 4 wins in the past two season (3 wins in 2016, 1 win in 2015)
2018 Season Preview Main Story: A New Era in Tranquillity Tigers Football

Tranquillity High hires Alumnus Michael Martinez Sr. as the new Head Coach as they will look to revamp the program and to bring it back to being a successful program and he brings along his son Michael Martinez Jr., They have worked alongside together at Firebaugh, Mendota, and West Hills College, Coalinga. His son was hired as an assistant at Clovis West earlier in the summer but when he heard from his father that he was hired at Tranquillity and his father asked him to come along with this and I quote “Clovis West will always be there, Your Father won’t” and so his son decided to come along. I asked Coach Martinez Sr. about his reaction to the hiring and he had this to say “I honestly cried because I was brought here by the grace and glory of God, I am honored and excited as God has given me so many blessings, getting married, having the life I have with my family and coaching which is all thanks to god and I’m just excited for the upcoming season and the beginning of a new era of Tranquillity Tigers Football.” I asked his son Coach Martinez Jr. for his reaction and he had this to say “I’m excited and blessed for my dad and even more excited to coach alongside him and run the defense it’s gonna be an exciting year for all of us.”
