WSL Athletics League Opening Day

WSL Opening Day 2018 kicked off with alot of runs and one close game…Mendota was looking to end their 2-Game Losing Streak and start WSL Play on the right foot as they hosted Avenal on what would be their 2nd of a 3-Game Home Stand as they will host WSL/Highway 33 Rivals Firebaugh this Friday to end the home stand…Mendota started slow but the roared back and in the end the losing streak was snapped and they opened League Play with a strong and momentum building win…Mendota takes down Avenal in 4 Innings 15-1

Firebaugh were looking to start their WSL campaign as new members in Division 4 and they opened at home hosting the Tranquillity Tigers before they take the 8 mile trip to WSL Rival Mendota and they really opened up as they took command of the game early and never looked back and earned a convincing win before their Battle of 33 clash with Mendota this Friday… Firebaugh beats Tranquillity 10-0 in 5 Innings.

Dos Palos and Coalinga were voted to go 1-2 in preseason League voting and well Dos Palos showed why they are the 2-Time WSL Champs as they stifled Coalinga 5-1 and share a 3-Way tie with Firebaugh and Mendota for 1st in WSL Play. This Friday Dos Palos will face off against Avenal in a battle of Mecerd County vs. Kings County.
