DOG HOUSE GRILL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Week 1-
Tulare Union, Kazmeir Allen rushed for 183 yards, scored 6 TD’s, 5 rushing (1, 2, 82, 16 and 14 yards) Caught a 98 yard TD pass. TU beat Mt Whitney 60-7.
And Emoryie Edwards became the 4th player in section history reach 200 career receptions. Edwards had catches for 178 yards and scored 2 touchdowns.
Week 2-DEDICATED TO ANTHONY BUFF TAYLOR
The Kerman Lions coach passed away on September 1st.
Week 2 was the HIGH HEAT WEEK with a lot of games canceled.
*Tulare Western Mustangs, Wide Receiver Keshon Butler had a huge game catching 9 footballs for 380 yards and scored 4 TD’s. (76, 80, 71 and 56 yards. WOW!) QB Elijah Burrell had a career night going 15-19, for 427 yards with 4 TD passes.
*And Junior QB Alex Trujillo, Memorial Panthers set 2 school records by passing for 488 yards on 21-26-1 and 6 touchdowns passes. Sophomore receiver Jalen Mcmillan tied a section record by catching all 6 touchdowns from Trujillo and 2 more school records on 12 receptions for 369 yards in a 53-46 win over visiting Lemoore.
Week 3-
Central Grizzlies Team, Jacob Hollins started the scoring with a 47 yard INT return for a TD and the defense stuffed the Patriots running game. Trent Tompkins completed 17-of-30 passes for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jacob Torrez had a career high with 9 receptions for 92 yards and 1 touchdown. Diotry Brewer rushed for 119 yards. Central beat Liberty 30-3.
*And Madera Coyotes Junior QB Colton Nelson became the first player in Central Section history to pass for over 600 yards. Nelson threw for 604 yards (32-53) and set school records on completions & attempts and tossed six touchdowns and Madera beat Merced 49-42.
Week 4-
Bakersfield Christian Eagles, QB Braden Wingle went 27-of-42 for 386 yards and 4 touchdowns including a 61 yarder to Alex Wallace. BC beat Tehachapi 39-13.
And Senior kicker Eli Riofiro from Clovis West had his best night making 3 field goals including a 49 yarder, 3 PAT’s in the 30-9 win over Edison.
Week 5- CVC Cavaliers, QB J.J. Lino threw 5 TD passes, 2 touchdowns went to Gavin Salierno Lino set two school records with 34 completions and 44 attempts. Gavin Salierno also set a school record with 17 receptions and the defense stuffed the Titans 56-0.
Week 6- Tulare Union Tribe’s Career night!, Kazmeir Allen had a record night! Rushed for 335 yards rushing and a school-record 7 touchdowns on 30 carries. Edwards set a career high of 263 yards, the third best in school history with 9 receptions. QB Nathan Lamb threw for 338 yards and 3 touchdowns.Tulare Union beat Dinuba 69-47.
* And Clovis West Junior QB Dante Chachere had a breakout game throwing for 352 yards and 4 touchdowns in a win over Centennial 49-35.
Week 7-Golden West Trailblazers, Running back Gonzalo Rodriguez rushed for 258 yards and scored 5 TD’s. GW rushed for 607 yards. Kai Caudell rushed for 218 yards rushing and scored 2 touchdowns including a 58-yard TD run.The Blazers beat Lemoore 56-28
Week 8-Mt Whitney Pioneers, QB Jaedyn Pineda threw for a career high of 370 yards with 4 TD passes. Pineda completed 22 of 26 passes and also had 81 yards rushing. Mt Whitney beat Lemoore 42-35.
* And Kazmeir Allen of Tulare Union scored 7 touchdowns on runs of 4, 45, 2, 26 82, 20 and a 98 pass reception from quarterback Nathan Lamb. Emoryie Edwards set a new section record with 117 yards on 9 receptions and went over 4,000 yards for his career. Tulare beat Delano 56-10.
Week 9- Central Grizzlies QB Trent Tompkins went 15-23 for 312 yards with 3 TD passes and scored on a 8 yard TD run. Jacob Torrez had 7 receptions for 181 yards and 1 touchdown. Central beat Clovis North 53-7

Kerman Lions QB Sean Chambers, had his best game of the year and on senior night going 10-11 passing for 221 yards, with 2 TD passes. (Connor Skaggs on a 58 yard TD catch and Chris Acosta 18 yards) Sean also rushed for 146 yards and scored on TD runs of 28 and 3 yard TD runs. Chris Acosta of Kerman scored 5 touchdowns, (18 yard reception and 4 on runs) and rushed for 185 yards. Kerman beat Liberty Madera 56-26
Week 11-Tulare Union Tribe- Kazmeir Allen. Kaz rushed for 310 yards, with 5 rushing TD’s, (5, 85, 3, 2, and 1 yard), caught 7 passes for 235 yards and 2 TD’s for a total of 7 TD’s. Tulare Union beat Tulare Western in the the 53rd annual Bell Game 62-41.
* And Clovis Cougars Senior QB Payton Mayer (14-26) set a new school by passing for 7 touchdowns wij 407 yards, 5th best in school history in a 49-39 win over visiting Ridgeview. Receiver Bubba Byrd had 5 receptions for a career 218 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 49-39 win over Ridgeview.
Week 12 -Tulare Union Tribe Kazmeir Allen went off rushing for his personal best 434 yards and scored 8 TD’s. 63 TD’s for the year and 1 TD away from breaking the state record. 63 TD’s is a new section record. Tulare Union beat Sunnyside 61-26
* And Madera Coyotes QB Colton Nelson went 21-33, 5 TD passes for 412 yards and scored 2 touchdowns.
WEEK 13-
Week 13 is dedicated to the Westside King, TONY PERRY! RIP
QB Shafter General’s QB Alex Aguilar had 327 total yards (177 rushing, 150 passing) and 5 touchdowns (3 rushing, 2 passing.) Shafter beat Hanford West 51-6.
* And Tulare Western Mustangs QB Elijah Burrell threw for 262 yards and 4 touchdowns as Western beat Madera 66-48. Coyotes QB Colton Nelson threw for 408 yards on 25-35-1 and 4 touchdown passes. Both teams had 1,163 total yards for the game.
Week 14-QB Alec Trujillo put on a show with 6 touchdowns passes, a touchdown run and 377 total yards. Memorial beat Bakersfield Christian 49-7
* And Kazmeir Allen rushed for 257 yards and scored 4 touchdowns.
Week 15-Memorial Panthers QB again Alec Trujillo, went 22-of-25 passing for 332 yards and 3 touchdowns. Trujillo’s favorite target, sophomore receiver Jalen McMillan, caught 9 passes for 209 yards and 2 touchdowns. Memorial finished with 525 yards of total offense. Memorial beat Tulare Western 45-31
*And Strathmore Spartans RB Joseph Garcia is 6th player in Central Section History to score 100 career touchdowns as Strathmore edge host Hilmar 53-52 in double overtime, Garcia rushed 239 yards on 29 carries, scored 5 touchdowns
Week 16-Senior Joseph Garcia rushed for 270 yards on 44 carries, scored 5 touchdowns and now has rushed for a career of 6,027 rushing yards as Strathmore beat Patrick-St. Vincent 49-35 in the CIF State Division 6-AA game.
* And Golden West Gonzalo Rodriguez rushed for 255 yards on 31 carries and scored 3 touchdowns. Rodriguez has 5,057 yards yards & 69 touchdowns. GW beat Big Bear in a Division 5-AA game 41-21.
Week 17 Joseph Garcia rushed for 211 yards on 43 carries and scored 4 touchdowns in the 31-29 win over Orange in the CIF State Division 6-AA Championship Bowl Game.
