Great Week for Sanger Sports

Boys soccer played at Clovis East on Monday and lost by a score of 1-2. On the 15th and 16th they will be playing in the Clovis Tournament. Next Monday the 18th the Varsity and JV teams will play at home against Central, and home again on Wednesday, playing Selma at 5pm. Varsity assistant coach Manuel Herrera says he has been impressed with the team’s development and desire to learn, along with their willingness to accept change, including some adjustments in the program’s coaching staff this season. Herrera added, “I have a belief that nobody is ever a perfect player. There is always room for improvement.” He looks forward to watching and helping this team to improve on and off the field, with an overarching desire for the Sanger Apaches boys soccer program to win the league championship for the first time in 37 years.

Girls soccer won in overtime in Tulare on December 2nd by a score of 4-2. They played at Clovis East on Tuesday. On Saturday the varsity team will be participating in the McLane Varsity Tournament, playing against Coalinga. Next week the lady apaches will play at Fresno High on the 22nd.

Girls basketball won versus McLane on Monday, 65-29. On Friday they will be playing at Clovis East at 6:30. Next Week is a game at Exeter as well as the Buchanan New Years Classic tournament.

Boys basketball have played three of their four days of the Varsity Holiday Invitational Tournament at Hoover High School this week. In the coming week the basketball team will be busy, with the Polly Wilhelmsen Tournament in Visalia from December 21-23.

Boys wrestling will be competing in the Varsity Big 12 Duals on Saturday at Liberty- Madera.

Girls wrestling hosted the Redwood wrestling team last Wednesday the 7th (pictured). On December 13th they traveled to Goldenwest in Visalia. On Saturday they will wrestle at Ridgeview, and then on December 19th they will be at Lemoore.
