Winter Sports at Sanger High

Sanger High School Athletics had a good beginning week of winter sports.

Boys soccer played at McLane on Tuesday and left with two wins. Varsity Apaches inched by the Highlanders by a score of 2-1, and the JV team won 3-0. These soccer teams played at home against Clovis on Thursday. The varsity team will be competing in the Harold S. Young Tournament at Buchanan on December 1st, against Fowler for the early game and (Bakersfield) South for the later competition. Next week the boys will travel to Clovis North on Tuesday, December 5th, and will play against Hoover at home on Thursday evening.

Girls soccer lost at Redwood on Tuesday by a score of 0-2. They will be playing in the Buchanan Varsity Tournament against Strathmore on December 1st. Next week the lady apaches will play on Wednesday evening at home against Clovis, and home again on Thursday playing Mission Oak.

Boys wrestling will be competing at the Vista Eagle Invitational on December 2nd. The girls wrestling team plays in the Lemoore Last Girl Standing Tournament this Friday the 1st. Next Wednesday they will wrestle against the Redwood team.

Boys basketball played against Besant Hill on Wednesday as a part of the Nordhoff Tournament and won by a score of 80-29. On Thursday they play Pacifica Tritons at 6pm. Following that matchup they will not have another game until December 27th.

Girls basketball lost to Hoover on Tuesday by 3 points. They will be participating in the Selma Shootout (Tournament) and playing at least 4 games from Thursday to Saturday.
