The Apache girls polo team has had an outstanding season, and their upcoming playoff game will be against Clovis High on Friday for the Central Section Division 1 Championships. The game will take place at 5pm at the Sanger pool. On Saturday the 4th Sanger beat Bullard 12-5, and on Tuesday Sanger won versus Clovis North by a score of 10-4. Varsity water polo player Kayla Grünberg says, “this is the first time in many years where we are in the finals, and we can’t wait to win Valleys.” She added that this tight-knit team is really able to trust a teammate and their judgment under the pressure of an intense game, which is an important piece of being a successful team.” Grünberg emphasized that the Sanger High girls water polo coaches, “encourage us and push us to be our best… taking care of any situation with their wisdom and strength.” The coaches are significant pieces of the team and exemplary leaders of the organization. They hope to come out with a team win on Friday.
