Sanger’s Week In Review

Football had their first league game last Friday and was defeated by the Bullard Knights by a score of 27-6, moving their overall record to 5-1. This week is the homecoming game, October 13th at Tom Flores Stadium versus Madera South. The last 5 days were homecoming dress up, concluding with spirit day on Friday. Homecoming skits are at lunch and the floats, as well as the king and queen, will be presented during halftime of the varsity game…

Volleyball played Edison on Tuesday and won 3 sets to 1. On Thursday the 12th, the ladies played against Madera. Next week the volleyball team will travel on Tuesday to San Joaquin Memorial and on Thursday to Madera South as two of the last 4 regular season games.
Water polo girls varsity team had a game scheduled for San Joaquin Memorial that was postponed on Wednesday due to bad air quality. The JV team won their tournament with Clovis and Madera water polo teams over the weekend. This weekend JV has a tournament in Tulare, and varsity will participate in the Western States Tournament in Modesto.
Sanger girls tennis won their match against Bullard last Thursday, which was an important contributor to their recent accomplishment. They beat Edison 8-1 on Tuesday, making them CMAC champs for the second year in a row. These victorious apache athletes have playoff games that will continue into November.

Apache girls golf had a match at Madera last Tuesday and had the CMAC 9 hole championship on Thursday, held at Riverside. On Tuesday they will play the 18 Hole Championship, followed by more rounds in the next few weeks.
On Friday, October 13th the Sanger cross country runners will participate in the Roughrider Invitational at Woodward Park.
Boys polo won against Edison on Thursday the 5th. Their game at San Joaquin Memorial on Wednesday was postponed. The next apache boys water polo game is Wednesday the 18th at Madera South.
