Dinuba Kicks Off the Season

It’s time for high school football season and you know what that means. Time for the speculation about who will win against who and of course who will hold that coveted CIF title at the end of it. It’s what every team works for. It’s what some people wake up every day and want.

The Dinuba Emperors are trying to be the ones in the end of the season with that title. Last season their journey was cut short by the Sanger Apaches. This year with Sanger being promoted to D1, they will not have to worry about them or Ridgeview.

Dinuba faced Mission Oak on August 24 at 7:00 @ Mission Oaks home stadium (moved up from Friday the 25th due to not enough room for stadiums. UPDATE: Dinuba wins 28-0). This will be the debut of Sophomore Quarterback Joshua Magana and Sophomore Strong Safety/Wide Receiver Brian Ortuno. It will also be the senior season of many returners this year such as Alek Marroquin, Alex Sandoval, Luis Colunga, Nate Carrion, Robert Diaz, Elijah Rios, and Lucas Tuttle.

Since Dinuba’s turf is being redone for this season, they have not had a rally yet for the upcoming season. They will have it done by their second game of the season against Reedley. They will have their “Pep Rally” by either this week or next week, no official date has been confirmed.

If you do happen to live in Dinuba and want to help a high school football player out in the area, the program is selling Gold Cards for $15. The Gold Card gives you discounts to many places in the area. ( Picture below shows discounts included)They must sell $15 for their team sweaters, so I’m pretty sure players would love if you could buy one!

This is Michael Hernandez signing out, hope you all had a great week folks.
