PAGMETER FOOTBALL QUARTERFINAL PREDICTIONS & FINAL SCORES

DIVISION 1

No 8 CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES (6-6) vs No 1 CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS (11-0)
First Round final
The Golden Eagles beat the Hanford Bullpups 42-30.
The Golden Eagles jumped out 36-0 in the first half. Tyler Patrick scored a TD, went 12-18 passing for 290 yards and 4 TD passes. Landon Wright caught 4 passes for 126 yards and a TD, Dom Decanio caught a 21 yard TD pass, Jonavon Darrington caught a TD pass, Jordan Pierro caught a 79 yard TD pass. Stevan Macias scored on a 60 yard TD run. Tytus Khajavi had 6 sacks with 15 tackles and Tytus Dimmer had 11 tackles.
The Broncos had a bye.
The PAG factor, this is a rematch from week 9 when the Broncos beat the Golden Eagles 34-27. The Broncos ran the ball for 250 yards, and the defense had 6 sacks along with 10 hurried passes and the Golden Eagles threw for 367 yards and 45 yards rushing.
Again it’s the same big X factor, can the Golden Eagles defense slow down the big and physical Broncos running game. The Broncos have a tremendous O-line and 3 stud running backs with juniors Jackson Cinfel, Mckay Madsen and senior Andrew Chavez. The Broncos just keep coming at you and they never get tired.
If the Golden Eagles play some defense and make some crucial stops they have a big chance of taking the No1 team down because running through the Broncos might be impossible but throwing over the Broncos might be the only chance you have and the Golden Eagles have the best passing attack in the Central Section.
The Broncos do not turn the ball over and the Golden Eagles will need every break they can get. The CW O-line must do a better job with protecting TP than in week 9.
The Golden Eagles crazy year will all go away if they pull off the upset. The Broncos will put plenty of pressure on the Golden Eagles passing attack because the Golden Eagles struggle running the football. Look for quick CW passes when the pressure is coming and get the ball to stud speedy WRs out in space and force the Broncos to make tough tackles.
Golden Eagles senior WR Marshel Sanders did not play last week and has not practiced all week so it looks like he will not play from concussion protocol.
Tyler Patrick has thrown for 3,084 yards and is 34 yards away from breaking Dante Chachere (2017) single season CW school record and already the all-time passing leader in school history with 5,468 yards.
Can CW play the flawless game and pull the shocker? The Broncos will come in well rested and stronger than any team in the Central Section. The Broncos running attack takes up plenty of time on the clock and CW can’t afford turnovers or punting because they might not see the ball much.
It is now finally football weather and teams that can run the ball and play physical defense have the edge.
PAGMETER PREDICTION BRONCOS 35 GOLDEN EAGLES 28 (FINAL BRONCOS 34 GOLDEN EAGLES 0) The Broncos Defense stuffed the Golden Eagles. RB Jackson Cinfel rushed for 161 yards and scored 2 TDs. McKay Madsen rushed for 66 yards and scored 3 TDs.

5 SANGER APACHES (10-2) vs 4 CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES (9-2)
First Round final
The Apaches beat the Garces Rams 35-0.
The Apaches defense stuffed the line of scrimmage for 4 quarters. Marquis Cropper had 2 interceptions (pick-6) and on the year MC now has 9 interceptions, which ties a school record.
Israel Robles rushed for 173 yards and scored 2 TDs.
T Wolves had a bye.
The PAG factor, this is a rematch from week 3 and the T Wolves beat the Apaches 42-21. The score was tied at the half 14-14 and it was all CE in the 2nd half. The Apaches were toast after the 3rd quarter. The Apaches have not lost since Aug 31. The Apaches completed 1 pass for 8 yards and 2 INTs. T Wolves junior QB Ty Miller went 8-11 for 202 yards and 3 TDs. junior WR Harold Duvall made 2 amazing TD catches. The big play killed the Apaches.
The Apaches running attack have been steamrolling ever since with Robles running with the football.
Apaches outstanding junior WR/DB Bryson Baker who got rolled up in the Memorial game, didn’t play last week vs Garces and will be a game time decision if he can play tonight.
Can the Apaches slow down, contain QB Ty Miller and T Wolves passing attack? That is everybody’s big question in this game. What Apaches team will show up. A team that is playing as one-unit or a team that quit in the 4th quarter on Aug 31.
For the Apaches to win, they must be able to run the ball and control the line of scrimmage with a big and physical O-line along with some T Wolves turnovers. If that doesn’t happen, game over!
The T Wolves will give up plenty of points but they will also score plenty of points. Can the Apaches complete some big passes when the T Wolves start to load the box?
The Apaches have waited since Aug 31st for another shot at CE and they will get their chance. The T Wolves are close at getting another crack at CN but must take care of business first. If the T Wolves look ahead to the semifinals, they will lose in the quarterfinals.
Something to think about, it is now playoff time along with football weather and teams that can run the ball, play hard ass defense has the edge.
Both teams have watched the game film a BUNCH of times so what will be different in this game!
PAGMETER PREDICTION T WOLVES 36 APACHES 31 (FINAL T WOLVES 17 APACHES 14) CE jumped out 17-0 and had to hang on.

6 CLOVIS COUGARS (8-4) at 3 LIBERTY PATRIOTS (9-2)
First Round final
The Cougars beat the St Joseph Knights 42-7.
The Cougars defense stuffed the line of scrimmage all night long.
Sophomore QB Deagan Rose scored a TD, went 18-21 passing for 343 yards and 4 TDs. Jacob Saldate caught 7 passes for 133 yards and a TD. Tyler Marquez caught 4 passes for 138 yards and 3 TDs. Noah Luginbill rushed for 92 yards and a TD.
The PAG factor, the Cougars are playing their best football coming in and the Patriots are almost at full strength. Senior QB Cole O’Brien is back and he makes a huge difference in the Patriots offense. Both teams play tremendous defense.
Can the Patriots slow down red hot Cougars QB Rose? The Cougars must be able to run the ball to keep the Patriots pressure off Rose.
The Patriots are the defending state champions and will come in with an attitude of being disrespected.
Can the Cougars defense slow down the Patriots offense? This will be a battle of two physical teams.
PAGMETER PREDICTION PATRIOTS 38 COUGARS 31 (PATRIOTS 33 COUGARS 30) The Officials were horrible and the Patriots hang on.

7 CENTRAL GRIZZLIES (9-3) at 2 FRONTIER TITANS (10-1)
First Round final
The Grizzlies beat Arroyo Grande Eagles 42-14
Senior QB David Marquez went 25-31 for 327 yards and 5 TDs. David Bell caught a TD pass, rushed for 109 yards and scored on a rushing TD. Noel Felix III caught 8 passes for 120 yards and a TD. Ej Morgan caught a TD and Braylen Hall caught 2 TD passes.
The Titans had a bye.
The PAG factor, most are calling for a Grizzlies win and it can happen but the Titans are 10-0 and a very good football team. The Titans are the most disrespected team in the Central Section and will be fired up playing a very good TRAC team.
There are plenty of interesting matchup to keep an eye on.
Can the Titans defense slow down the outstanding senior WRs of Felix III, Hall and junior Daylon Scott? These guys can turn a short pass into a long TD. The Grizzlies are tough to stop when QB Marquez can get to the edge running and has time to throw the ball.
Can the Grizzlies slow down the Titans running attack and leading the way with running the ball is senior Brycen Cael Tablit?
The Titans have one of the most dangerous senior QBs in the Central Section Malakhi Statler who has thrown for 2,509 yards and 30 TD passes.
The Grizzlies 3 losses were against 3 physical teams (Liberty, Clovis and Clovis North) and Frontier is very physical.
For the Grizzlies to have a great bus ride home, they must hit on some big plays and can’t afford turnovers. The Titans O-line is massive and the Grizzlies have struggled against the run.
For the Titans to win, they must control the line of scrimmage and Statler must have a big game.
The Titans X factor is sophomore WR 6’4 Kobie Watson who is a game changer. The Titans need to get the ball to Watson as much as possible.
The South valley plays a different brand of football and that is kick-ass physical football and the north valley will use its speed. This should be a great game and it could come down to the final drive.
PAGMETER PREDICTION TITANS 28 GRIZZLIES 27 (FINAL GRIZZLIES 36 TITANS 32) The Grizzles win it with .11 seconds to go when QB David Marquez hits Braylen Hallon a 20 yard TD pass. WOW!!

DIVISION 2

11 MADERA COYOTES (8-4) at 3 CENTENNIAL GOLDEN HAWKS (7-5)
First Round finals
The Coyotes beat the Bakersfield Christian Eagles 27-26
The Eagles scored late to make the score 27-26 and Coyotes JJ Lopez blocked the massive PAT and the bus ride back to Madera was fun. QB Joel Arellano went 14-21 passing for 241 yards and a TD pass. Izaak Lopez caught 5 footballs for 48 yards and a TD. Daniel Mendez rushed for 143 yards on 29 carries and scored 2 TDs. Andy Berry nailed 2 big field goals.
The Golden Hawks beat the Lompoc Braves 42-19.
Adam Copus threw 3 TD passes to Jaxton Santiago (12 and 30, and 31 yards) Angel Lozano scored on a 7 yard TD run, Corbin Voss scored on a 3 yard TD run, Roland Meyers with a 51 yard pick-6.
The PAG factor, the Golden Hawks offense has struggled vs physical defenses. The Golden Hawks are finally healthy and the defense will need a big game vs a fast Coyotes team. The Coyotes don’t care who they play because they will battle and love being the underdog and every time the PAGMETER picks against the Coyotes, they win.
If the Golden Hawks can pull off the win, watch out because just like the Golden Hawks Baseball team when they won the Central Section Championship last spring, the football team is quietly gaining confidence..
PAGMETER PREDICTION GOLDEN HAWKS 34 COYOTES 21 (FINAL HAWKS 42 COYOTES 7) The G Hawks had a 42-0 lead. The Hawks defense played outstanding and leading the way was Roland Meyers with a 53 yard pick-6.

7 SUNNYSIDE WILDCATS (10-2) at 2 LEMOORE TIGERS (9-3)
First Round finals
The Wildcats beat the Redwood Rangers 39-21
The Tigers beat the Garza Guardians 38-27
Junior QB Aiden McDaniel scored a TD, went 22-31 passing for 226 yards and 3 TDs. Kobe Green caught a TD pass and Dameion Hernandez caught 2 TD passes.
The PAG factor, Wildcats QB Tanner Wilson will have his favorite WR CJ Jones back in the lineup this week after getting ejected on Friday. Three Wildcats players were suspended this week for fighting but it looks like CJ won his appeal. CJ was on the field already and the three players that were suspended came off the bench.
A star is born with Tigers junior QB McDaniel’s. The 6’1 QB stepped in when needed after senior QB Johnny Cunha went down with an injury. McDaniels has the makings to be very good!
This is a very good Wildcats offense vs a very good Tigers defense.
. PAGMETER PREDICTION TIGERS 44 WILDCATS 39 (FINAL TIGERS 38 WILDCATS 22) The Tigers jumped out 35-7 before they shut it down.

DIVISION 3

The PAG factor, this will be a battle between two very good defenses. This has the makings of a very physical game. Which team can finish drives with points?
PAGMETER PREDICTION ROYALS 19 PANTHERS 17 (FINAL ROYALS 15 PANTHERS 14) The Royals hang on in a great game.

5 KERMAN LIONS (7-5) at 4 KENNEDY THUNDERBIRDS (9-3)
First Round finals

Sophomore Jace Demacabalin rushed for 151 yards and scored 3 TDs. Damian Flores rushed for 85 yards and scored a TD, sophomore RB Jamison Membreve rushed for 88 yards. Sophomore QB Javier Valdez threw a TD pass to Zikeem Dozer.
The PAG factor and it’s the big one, can the Lions defense slow down the Birds running attack? It’s pretty simple because the Birds are not a throwing team. The Lions are playing their best football and the offense needs a huge game. Another big factor is the Lions sophomore QB Torres needs a monster game.
PAGMETER PREDICTION THUNDERBIRDS 33 LIONS 30 (FINAL LIONS 34 THUNDERBIRDS 28) What a game! Lions RB Julien Velez takes it straight up the middle with 4.8 seconds to go on a 74 yard TOUCHDOWN run and the game winner!

6 MT WHITNEY PIONEERS (8-4) vs 3 MISSION OAKS HAWKS (7-5)

The Pioneers have won 7 straight games since the MO loss.
The Independence Falcons did a nice job vs the Hawks passing attack so the Hawks turned to the running attack.
Can Kysen Sing have another big game against the Hawks? In week 4, Sing rushed for 148 yards.
Both teams have watched the game film 1000 times so this will come down to turnovers, missed tackles and who can make the big plays on both sides of the ball.
PAGMETER PREDICTION PIONEERS 34 HAWKS 32 (FINAL PIONEERS 35 HAWKS 12) The Hawks are now the team to beat in D3 because they are playing great football. PAGMETER blew this pick. Hawks, job well down!

7 WASHINGTON UNION PANTHERS (4-8) at 2 ATASCADERO GREYHOUNDS (10-1)
First Round final
The Panthers beat the Templeton Eagles 25-7.
The Panthers defense controlled the line of scrimmage and the Eagles could not score when in the red zone.
Jason Torres went 11-19 for 237 yards and 3 TDs. Davien Potts caught 2 TD passes and Ryan Brown caught a TD pass. Decurtis Stroud rushed for 91 yards and scored a TD.
The Greyhounds had a bye.
The PAG factor, the Panthers are a tough team to figure out because you don’t know what offense will show up week to week. The Panthers defense is very good.
The Greyhounds are 10-0 because teams have trouble slowing down senior QB Kane Cooks who has thrown for 1,400 yards and has rushed for 900 yards. The Panthers defense will keep them in this game.
Can the Panthers offense have a tremendous night vs a very good Greyhounds defense? The Greyhounds playing at home and in front of a big crowd has the edge.
PAGMETER PREDICTION GREYHOUNDS 28 PANTHERS 20 (FINAL PANTHERS 41 GREYHOUNDS 13) PAGMETER blew this pick and the Panthers played a flawless game.

The PAG factor, can the Bulldogs run the ball with Thompson and Abbott and keep the Generals offense watching. The Generals front eight on defense better be ready because the Dogs are not fancy and hate throwing the football.
Can the Bulldogs defense slow down the high power Generals offense? The Generals are a very good 2nd half team. If the Bulldogs get behind that is not good unless Tre can rip off a big run. The offense is really good when the Dogs are ahead because of the long drives. .
PAGMETER PREDICTION GENERALS 41 BULLDOGS 19 (FINAL GENERALS 45 BULLDOGS 7) The game was won on the line of scrimmage by the Generals front seven.

The PAG factor, can the Saints offense have another outstanding night? The Broncos offense has much more variety than Caruthers offense so the Saints will need some Broncos turnovers to have a fun bus ride home.
PAGMETER PREDICTION BRONCOS 36 SAINTS 30 (FINAL BRONCOS 45 SAINTS 28) The Broncos are playing their best football at the right time!

DIVISION 5

9 NORTH STARS (5-7) at 1 BISHOP UNION BRONCOS (10-1)
First Round Finals
The Stars beat the Corcoran Panthers 43-34. Thanks to the Corcoran Principal, the Panthers never had a chance and still made it close. Remember, a good sports program always starts with a positive Principal/administration and without it, the sports program will never be successful. Corcoran needs to make up its mind very soon before they fall apart.
Stars RB Dillion Kyle rushed for 169 yards and scored 3 TDs. QB Wyatt Haner threw 2 TD passes each to Mika Lencioni and the Stars outscored the Panthers 36-0 in the 2nd half.
The Broncos had a bye.
The PAG factor, the D6 Broncos with 636 students and the Stars with 2200. The Stars will bring in more cheerleaders on the sidelines than Broncos players.
Hey it’s not the Stars fault that they are in D6. The system is completely broken.
Can the Broncos outstanding senior QB Boden St Marie who is dangerous running and throwing have a huge game?

Which defense will make the big stops?
PAGMETER PREDICTION PIRATES 35 CARDINALS 31 (FINAL PIRATES 35 CARDINALS 25) Pirates QB Ian Lambright scored a TD, went 19-30 passing for 267 yards and 3 TD passes.

The Tigers had a bye.
The PAG factor, this will be a battle of two young teams that started slow and both coming in playing their best football.
The Tigers come in doing what they do best and that is pounding the football and leading the way is sophomore Noah Lopez, seniors Ram Lopez and Michael Dominguez.
The Pirates are big upfront and they can pound it or spread it out. The Tigers are a double-wing offense and they want to control the clock. Can the Pirates force the Tigers in 3rd and long?
Which team will win the battle on the line of scrimmage?
PAGMETER PREDICTION PIRATES 27 TIGERS 24 (FINAL TIGERS 28 PIRATES 21) WILD FINISH! The Tigers were about to score the go ahead TD but fumbled on the goal line with 1:30 left. The Pirates recovered and just needed a 1st down or punt it away with little time left in the game and no Tigers timeouts. On 3rd down, the Pirates fumbled and the Tigers scooped and scored. Great way to win and a horrible way to lose.

DIVISION 6
