PAGMETER WEEK 11 FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS & PLAYOFF BRACKETS 2023
Division 1 Playoff notes,
Pagmeter and the CIF almost agreed with D1. I would have flipped/flopped with Hanford/CW Pagmeter would still only have 8 teams this year in D1. This year. Every year is different.

DIVISION 2 PLAYOFF NOTES,
There is zero chance that Tehachapi and Lompoc and San Luis Obispo should be playing in D2. With Memorial, Edison and Bullard out of the D2 post season tournament, the CIF filled up the D2 bracket with D3 teams.
That’s why this year, D1 should have an 8 team bracket, and add into D2 with Hanford, Arroyo Grande, St Joseph and Garces.
That way Tehachapi, Madera, SLO, Garza and Lompoc would be in D3.
Tehachapi goes 10-0 and doesn’t get a home. So wrong! It’s simply common sense!

FUSD statement: “Any Fall season playoff game during an active teacher strike starting Nov 1 that are against another school district will be played at that district’s facilities, not FUSD facilities. For FUSD vs. FUSD games, those will continue on our facilities as planned and we will have increased security…”As for the winter sports, practice & games will all be canceled until the strike is over.”
**THE LATEST IN THE AVENAL vs MENDOTA FIGHT THAT WAS STOPPED IN THE 3RD QUARTER. CIF Central Section Office finished their investigation on the matter and decided that Avenal was at fault more than Mendota due to not only the involvement of the players but also their fans. The original call of a double forfeit has been reversed and instead, since Mendota was ahead at the time of the stoppage the Aztecs will be given the forfeit win, and their record is 4-5 overall & 2-2 West Sierra. Avenal’s updated record is 4-5 overall & 0-4 West Sierra. Mendota will have 2 players suspended for 3 games and Avenal will have 5 players suspended also for 3 games.
In week 10 the PAGMETER Predictions went 51-6 and for the year 464-77 (86%)
The big question is will they have full brackets in all divisions? Right now it looks like all teams with 3 wins who qualify to play in the postseason will play in the postseason. Brackets could range from 12-16 teams. It doesn’t look like there will be 88 playoff eligible teams so some brackets will have byes.
DOWN BELOW ARE THE PAGMETER DIVISION RANKINGS
PAGMETER PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
QB JACKSON KLOSTER from the ROOSEVELT ROUGH RIDERS
Jackson went 29-37 for 376 yards and 6 TD passes. The 6 TD passes is a Roosevelt school record.

Ty went 17-25 for 382 and 6 TD passes and the T Wolves beat Clovis 49-34
RB ISAIAH ROBLES from the SANGER APACHES

WR/DB TOMMY NIX from the CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES

RB HUNTER BABB from the CARUTHERS BLUE RAIDERS
I’m thinking you have heard this song before with Hunter having a great game.
Hunter rushed for 309 yards and scored 4 TDs in the tough loss to Chowchilla 32-31
THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FINALS
SUNNYSIDE WILDCATS (9-1) (7-0 NYL CHAMPIONS) vs SANGER WEST HORNETS (3-7) (2-5)
The NYL Champions beat McLane 43-8 and the Hornets lost to Roosevelt 56-25.
The Wildcats are looking for a home game in the D2 playoffs and the Hornets have qualified and are looking to be a low seed in the D5 playoffs.
PAGMETER PREDICTION WILDCATS 65 HORNETS 20 (FINAL WILDCATS 48 HORNETS 13)
THE CAT BOWL
DELANO TIGERS (6-4) (2-4) at TAFT WILDCATS (4-6) (2-4)
The Tigers snapped their 4 game losing streak beating McFarland 48-0.
The Wildcats lost to Wasco 26-21. Junior Isaiah Lopez returned a kickoff 96-yards and that is the longest kickoff return in school history.
This should be a very good game. Both teams should be playing in the D5 bracket.
PAGMETER PREDICTION TIGERS 23 WILDCATS 21 (FINAL TIGERS 20 WILDCATS 17)
SOUTH YOSEMITE – HORIZON
DEL ORO SUN (0-10) (0-4) at GOLDEN VALLEY BULLDOGS (8-2) (4-0 SWYH CHAMPIONS)
The Bulldogs are league Champions and hoping for a home playoff game in the first round of the D4 playoffs. The Bulldogs should be playing in the D5 playoffs.
The Sun are a very young team and are building a program.
PAGMETER PREDICTION BULLDOGS 55 SUN 0 (FINAL BULLDOGS 55 SUN 0) Nailed it
SOUTHWEST YOSEMITE – RIVER
CENTENNIAL GOLDEN HAWKS (5-5) (1-3) at FRONTIER TITANS (10-0) (4-0 SWY CHAMPIONS)
The Hawks lost to Garces 10-6.
The Titans with the biggest win in school history beating the defending State Champion Liberty Patriots 25-20. Brycen Cael Tablit rushed for 149 yards and scored a TD. Senior QB Malakhi Statler went 15-29 for 272 yards, A star is born with sophomore Kobie Watson who caught a 49-yard TD pass and picked off a huge pass at the end of the game. Brady Durkan scored 2 TDs and Brycen Tabit scored on a 90-yard run.
The X factor is the Golden Hawks have struggled on offense when they play a team with a good defense and the Titans have a very good defense. The Titans won the biggest game in school on Friday and has to play on Thursday, there could be huge Patriots hangover.
PAGMETER PREDICTION TITANS 25 GOLDEN HAWKS 14 (FINAL TITANS 23 HAWKS 16)
GARCES RAMS (5-5) (2-2) at STOCKDALE MUSTANGS (4-6) (0-4)
The Rams beat Centennial 10-6. Sophomore QB Gunter Golla threw a TD pass to Nate Wallace and Julian Struzyna kicked a field goal. The Rams defense played outstanding forcing 5 turnovers.
The Mustangs beat Independence 21-19. QB Christian Dalton threw for 246 yards and 2 TDs. Ben Spears caught 4 passes for 135 yards, 2 TDs including a 97 yard TD.
The X factor is the Rams defense will be the difference.
PAGMETER PREDICTION RAMS 34 MUSTANGS 14 (FINAL RAMS 37 MUSTANGS 7)
TRI-COUNTY – SEQUOIA
SIERRA PACIFIC GOLDEN BEARS (7-3) (1-3) vs HANFORD WEST HUSKIES (0-9) (0-4)
CLASH OF THE CLAWS
The Golden Bears have lost 3 straight games and are looking to snap the skid before the playoffs start.
PAGMETER PREDICTION GOLDEN BEARS 39 HUSKIES 12 (FINAL BEARS GOLDEN BEARS 39 HUSKIES 19)
CENTRAL GRIZZLIES (7-3) (3-2) vs CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS (10-0) (5-0)
The Grizzlies beat Clovis West 27-15. The Grizzlies with a big 4th quarter in the win. QB David Marquez stayed hot going 14-18 for 229 yards passing and scored 2 TDs. Brandon Smith scored a TD. WR Braylen Hall caught 7 footballs for 160 yards and Jamari Carter with a huge 55 yard pick-6 in the 4th quarter.
The Broncos manhandled Buchanan 28-3. The Broncos O-line and D-line dominated the line of scrimmage. Jackson Cinfel rushed for 137 yards and scored 2 TDs. McKay Madsen rushed for 82 yards. Senior QB Mario Cosma was spot on going 7-8 for 106 yards and threw a TD pass to Vinnie Cordoba.
This is for the TRAC Championship. I know I know in our soft society, some will say if Central wins, they will be Co-Champions with the Broncos.
PAGMETER rule when you play a team only once, the tie-breaker is head to head.
If the Broncos win then the debate ends.
Can the Broncos defense slow down the red hot Grizzlies offense? Nobody lately has contained Marquez on the zone-read. I’m thinking CN will have a game plan.
Can the Grizzlies match up with the Broncos power running attack?
Both teams play so-so in the 1st half and play tremendously in the 2nd half.
PAGMETER PREDICTION BRONCOS 28 GRIZZLIES 21 (FINAL BRONCOS 27 GRIZZLIES 20) Almost nailed the score
BULLARD KNIGHTS (2-8) (1-4) vs EDISON TIGERS (2-8) (1-4)
The Crosstown Classic is one of the best rivalries in the Central Section, The Tigers lead the all time series 33-30 since 1959…. Now that’s a rivalry!
The Knights lost to Sanger 42-14. The Knights played tough in the 1st half but got worn down.
The Tigers lost to Madera 42-21.
This will be the last game of the year for both teams so this should be a very entertaining game.
PAGMETER PREDICTION KNIGHTS 20 TIGERS 18 (FINAL TIGERS 17 KNIGHTS 14) TIGERS NOW LEAD THE SERIES 34-30
LIBERTY PATRIOTS (8-2) at BAKERSFIELD DRILLERS (6-4)
The Patriots lost to Frontier 25-20. The Patriots 30 game winning league streak comes to an end. Mekhi Delouth scored on 7 and 26 yard TD runs and caught a 60-yard TD pass from Clay Turk.
The Drillers beat Ridgeview 58-0. Junior RB Brison Abbott rushed for 267 yards and scored 5 TDs on 13 carries.
The X factor can the Patriots slow down red hot Abbott and how pissed off will the Patriots be after losing for the first time in a while? Could this be the best time to play the Patriots after a loss? Starting Patriots QB Cole O’Brien should be back this week.
PAGMETER PREDICTION PATRIOTS 34 DRILLERS 21 (FINAL PATRIOTS 41 DRILLERS 10)
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS FINAL SCORES
MEMORIAL PANTHERS (3-7) (2-3) at SANGER APACHES (9-1) (5-0 CMAC CHAMPIONS)
The Panthers lost to Garza 38-10. Jordan Colbert rushed for 124 yards and caught a TD pass from QB Pierce Delport. Alex Asparuhov nailed a field goal. Colbert is outstanding and will be visiting UCLA.

Bryson Baker rushed for 74 yards, scored 2 TDs and also caught a TD pass from Jaden Chanthalangsy. Carlos Young scored on a 61-yard TD run.
The Apaches will be fired up for this one because Sanger takes it personally when the Apaches players get recruited away from Sanger. Look for the Apaches to come out fired up.
PAGMETER PREDICTION APACHES 42 PANTHERS 7 (FINAL APACHES 55 PANTHERS 7)
MADERA COYOTES (7-3) (3-2) vs GARZA GUARDIANS (5-5) (3-2)
The Coyotes beat Edison 42-21. Joel Arellano went 8-11 for 88 yards and 2 TD passes. Daniel Mendez rushed for 254 yards on 33 carries and scored 3TDs. Blake Burton with 9 carries, 73 yards rushing, scored a TD and caught a TD pass. Michael Pedro caught 5 footballs for 73 yards and a TD.

Which defense will have the better game? Can the Coyotes slow the Guardians dink & dunk offense?
PAGMETER PREDICTION GUARDIANS 34 COYOTES 31 (FINAL COYOTES 28 GUARDIANS 27)
ORANGE COVE TITANS (5-5) (3-4) at OROSI CARDINALS (8-1) (6-1 EAST SEQUOIA CHAMPIONS)
The Titans beat Farmersville 50-0.
The Cardinals lost their first game of the year to Woodlake 22-21. Andrew Camarillo scored on a 29 yard TD run, and Jason De Cruz scored on TD runs of 23 and 5 yards. Andrew Camarillo is 84 yards away from reaching 2,000 yards rushing on the season and back to back 2,000 yard seasons.
The big X factor, can the Titans slow down the Cardinals running attack?
A win and the Cardinals will be the East Sequoia League Champions. (Tiebreaker win over Corcoran)
PAGMETER PREDICTION CARDINALS 33 TITANS 27 (FINAL CARDINALS 35 TITANS 34)
CORCORAN PANTHERS (8-2) (6-1) at FARMERSVILLE AZTECS (1-9) (0-7)
The Panthers beat Strathmore 20-14. And the Aztecs lost to Orange Cove.
The Panthers will be a big time contender in the D5 playoffs.
PAGMETER PREDICTION PANTHERS 52 AZTECS 0 (FINAL PANTHERS 35 AZTECS 8)
STRATHMORE SPARTANS (6-4) (5-2) at LINDSAY CARDINALS (4-6) (2-5)
The Spartans lost to Corcoran 20-14 and the Cardinals beat Granite Hills 35-14. The Cardinals are getting healthy and the Spartans have been banged up all year long.
This should be a great 102nd meeting! The Cardinals have yet to get a big win this year..this would be a huge win! PAGMETER picked the Cardinals to be the favorites to win D6, it’s time to finally step up and show how good the Redbirds really are.
PAGMETER PREDICTION SPARTANS 25 CARDINALS 23 (FINAL SPARTANS 14 CARDINALS 10)

Jace was severely dehydrated.
The Titans had a bye.
The X factor, can the Titans match up with the Birds up front? The Titans offense needs a big game.
As for Jace Demacabalin, All tests this week were all clean. Jace is feeling good. He was cleared by ER on Friday along with his primary Doctor on Wednesday. If Jace feels good on Friday, he is playing! That’s great news!

RIDGEVIEW WOLF PACK (1-9) (0-4) at HIGHLAND SCOTS (3-7) (1-3)
The Pack lost to Bakersfield 58-0. And the Scots lost to Bakersfield Christian 46-12.
The Scots are banged up and need to win to get invited to the postseason tournament.
The Pack are a mess especially with Head Coach Casey Quinn who will not Coach next year. This is a divided team and that is never good. Some players have quit and some have semi checked out. The losing doesn’t help with team morale so this is a tough pick. The Scots are banged up vs a team that has fallen off the mountain.

The Lions beat Selma 47-21. Julien Velez rushed for 103 yards and scored 4 TDs.
This is a very interesting match up. The Panthers have a tremendous defense, not a big running team but now have found a passing game.
The Lions play good defense, not a big passing offense and can pound the ball. The Panthers are very streaky.
This has the makings to be a great game.

EXETER MONARCHS (9-1) (3-1) at REEDLEY PIRATES (3-7) (3-1)
The Monarchs beat Sierra Pacific 12-7. Niqo Calderon scored the game winning 1-yard TD run.
The Pirates lost to Kingsburg 38-16. Will Bacon threw a TD pass to Jaiden Guajardo and Demetrius Vargas rushed for 90 yards and scored a TD.
The Pagmeter has been tossing and turning with this prediction all week long.
Could there be an upset because the Pirates have played a killer schedule? The young Pirates are very physical and coming around but they must win. They could be dangerous and battle tested in the D5 playoffs.
The Monarchs are 9-0 and that puts a ton of pressure on a team right before the playoffs. The Monarchs play tremendous defense and the offense is dangerous. Would it be different for the Pirates with a schedule like Exeter?
This should be a very good game and the Pagmeter upset special.
The Pirates have to win and the Monarchs don’t.
PAGMETER PREDICTION PIRATES 24 MONARCHS 20 (PIRATES 22 MONARCHS 21)
CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES (8-2) (3-2) at BUCHANAN BEARS (2-8) (0-5)
The T Wolves beat Clovis 49-34. They played for the Battle of the Boot and the T Wolves finally get to bring the Boot back to Clovis East. The maintenance team had to bring in special equipment to get the boot off the shelf because it’s been there since 2009.
Ty Miller went 17-25 for 382 and 6 TD passes. Tommy Nix caught 7 footballs for 155 yards and scored 4 TDs including a kickoff return for a TD, Duvall caught 4 passes for 185 yards and scored 3 TDs.
The Bears lost to Clovis North 28-3. The Bears did what they could against the No 1 team.
The T Wolves offense is light years better than the Bears offense. For the Bears to hang, they must move the chains and slow the game down. That’s their only chance especially without a passing offense that is struggling. It’s crazy to think that the Bears will not make the postseason tournament but it’s about to happen. The T Wolves defense always gives up plenty of points so the Bears could be seeing the endzone.
PAGMETER PREDICTION T WOLVES 48 BEARS 21 (FINAL T WOLVES 48 BEARS 24)

The Cougars lost Clovis East 49-34. QB Deagan Rose, scored on 3 rushing TDs and threw 2 TD passes including a 50-yard TD pass to Jacob Saldate.
This is a very interesting game to pick. You have the Golden Eagles who have underachieved so far vs the overachieving Cougars.
That’s the big question..will the underachievers turn it on? If they do, they can beat anybody. Everybody is waiting for that to happen. Everybody knows all the issues with CW so we all watch the soap opera together. CW is very streaky and the Cougars continue to play at the speed limit.
Can the Golden Eagles slow down the Cougars running attack along with some timely passes?
The Cougars have one of the best D-lines in the Central Section and the Golden Eagles can’t the ball. Can the Cougars stay with the talented Golden Eagles passing attack?

The Aztecs beat Avenal 13-7. Jesse Rodriguez and Donnie Munoz each scored on 1 yard TD runs. The game was called in the 3rd quarter because of fighting on the Avenal sidelines and Mendota should be proud for not coming across the field. Mendota fans, players and Coaches…GREAT JOB! I watched the film of the fight and that was a textbook job on how to handle a brawl. Two Aztec players did get suspended.
The Eagles lost to Dos Palos 14-6.

Daniel Gomez, threw for 284 yards and 4 TDs. Jordan Black caught 9 passes for 115 yards and a TD. Sesay caught 3 passes for 86 yards and scored 2 TDs.
