FUSD UPDATE
As far as the FUSD and the possible strike, yes there could be a strike but nobody really knows if it will happen or when. Could the Teachers union and FUSD come together and agree on a new contract in the next week or so, yes. If there is a strike, yes there will be no sports.

SANGER APACHES (8-1) (4-0 CMAC CHAMPIONS) vs BULLARD KNIGHTS (2-7) (1-3)
The Apaches beat Madera 35-21. Isreal Robles rushed for 237 yards and scored a TD. Bryson Baker rushed for 141 yards and scored a TD.
The Knights lost to Memorial 26-14. The Knights scored a real late TD so this game wasn’t that close.
The Apaches are close at winning the CMAC Championship and the Knights are close with their season coming to an end. A win over Edison in the Crosstown classic shouldn’t matter and the season should end. Put this Knights season out of its misery. The Knights are a complete mess.
Life in Knights nation hasn’t been easy since Coach Arax was let go. Letting Arax go was the worst thing for Knights football because you are seeing what the future will look like. Soon the Knights will drop into D2 and that means with this crazy playoff format, the Knights will be playing in D3. To the few folks that wanted Arax out, shame on you because the Principal fell for your plan.

The Hawks are a team that nobody is talking about and they like it this way. The Hawks will be tough to beat in the playoffs.

The Warriors beat North 49-6. The Warriors finished with 505 total yards, 228 yards rushing and a season-high 277 yards passing. QB Jacob Root accounted for 5 TDs, 3 rushing and 2 passing.
The Warriors are the league Champions and looking to go 10-0. Next week is a bye for the SY Mountain Champions. The Warriors are looking at a home playoff game in the D2 playoffs.

David went 22-31 for 359 yards passing with 3 TD passes and rushed for 143 rushing yards, on 16 carries and scored 3 TDs. The Grizzlies offense crushed the CE defense that is supposed to be good,
Clovis West lost to Clovis North 34-27 and played the No 1 team very tough. QB Tyler Patrick went 29-44 for 367 yards and 3 TDs. Marshel Sanders caught 9 passes for 164 yards and caught a TD. Landon Wright caught 8 passes for 120 yards and caught 2 TD passes.
This has the makings to be one of the best Thursday night games in a long time.
This game comes down to the defensive side of the ball because both offenses are electric.
CW must be listening because TP played the entire game and CW looks like the team that I picked to play on Championship Friday.
The Grizzlies are a completely different team now with Marquez at QB. Which defense will make the big stops? Can the Golden Eagles play like they did last week or will they pull the crazy QB rotation crap that makes zero sense and blows the Golden Eagles offensive rhythm? That’s the big question in this game. This is a tough call because CW is such a question mark within their own team. It’s like there’s 2 games going on here…Clovis West vs Central and CW vs CW.
I like the Golden Eagles chances vs Central. Stay tuned.

Can the Panthers slow down the dink & dunk Guardians offense? The Guardians will throw quick passes and force the defense to make tackles.

The Cardinals beat Corcoran 22-20. Andrew Camarillo rushed for 229 yards and scored 2 TDs.
The Tigers are finally healthy and ready to challenge anybody. If the Tigers can stay in D6, they will be the favorite. The Tigers all remember the game last year against Orosi when Camarillo rushed for a career high 436 yards and 3 TDs. A game like that will live with the defensive players who played in the game for a long time.
Will Orosi come in with a Corcoran hangover because that game was physical.
It’s a simple X factor, can the Tigers slow down Camarillo? The Cardinals are a tremendous 2nd half team. This could be the match up of the No 1 seed in D6 vs the No 1 seed in D5.

The Pioneers beat El D 15-3. The defense stuffed the line of scrimmage. QB Micah Rodriguez threw for 224 yards and 2 TD passes that both went to Carter Myers.
The Marauders will not be entering the postseason tournament unless they win the last 2 games and the Pioneers need to take care of business because next week is the big East Yosemite league Championship game vs Redwood in the 68th Cowhide Bowl game.

The Rangers are tough to run against and that is ok with the Blazers because they are a passing team. GW needs one win to qualify for the postseason and beating the Rangers will not be easy. The Rangers can’t look past GW because the Blazers will come in fired up.

QB Davian Stephenson rushed for 134 yards and scored 2 TDs, Dwayne Hemphill rushed for 145 yards and scored 2 TDs, Dellvonta Vaughn rushed for 148 yards and scored 2 TDs, and Travis Selby rushed for 87 yards and a TD.
There was a time not that long ago when the Tribe/Redskins were the team to beat. Chowchilla was always a tough place to play especially if you are the visiting team. The Tribe are the sleeper team and they have to believe they can beat a very good Blue Crew team.
The winner will be the Northwest Sequoia League Champions. Can the Tribe play good physical defense?

The Rams beat Bakersfield Christian 28-21. The Rams had a 21-0 lead and hung on.. Luke Taylor with a 58 yard pick-6. QB Gunter Golla went 7-10 for 117 yards and hit Bryce Hanson on a 67 yard TD pass and game winner in the 4th quarter. Austyn Hernandez scored on a 11-yard TD run.

In the win over Centennial, the Patriots got beat up and will come in with plenty of injuries.
Starting QB Cole O’Brien is out 3 weeks with a shoulder injury. Outstanding WR/DB Tre Fulton who will play at UNLV is out for 4 weeks, WR Devin Degraffenreid out for the year.
The Titans before the injuries might be the only team in the Central Section that matches up the physicality with the Patriots. If the Titans don’t win, they might never beat the Patriots again. Look for the Patriots to slow the game down and pound the ball.
There could be a rematch in the playoffs. Now we all know that Fresno State Head Coach Jeff Tedford is the QB guru for college. Patriots Head Coach Bryan Nixon has to be the High School QB guru. Coach Nixion has coached some tremendous QBs like Cody Kessler and Jordan Love so get ready for 6 ‘1, 190 lb Clayton Turk who will be the Patriots new QB and I’m sure before too long he will be one of the best in the Central Section.

If the Panthers pull the upset, then there will be tri champions with Kingsburg and CVC. If CVC wins they are Tri-County Champions.

The Cougars beat Buchanan 21-13. It wasn’t pretty but a win is a win. QB Deagan Rose went 13-18 for 217 yards and 2 TD passes.
On paper the T Wolves should roll with all that team speed but the Cougars are a team that will somehow hang around. The T Wolves have to take care of business early because if it’s close in the 4th quarter, the T Wolves could be in trouble.

With the Broncos, is it me, or is there something missing with this physical football team? Yes the Broncos are 8-0 and the favorite to play on Championship Friday but something tells me something is missing. The Broncos have had tremendous game plans, but teams are moving closer to the line of scrimmage, and they need to take advantage of the passing opportunities. Hey, maybe the Pagmeter is seeing things. CN has not played well in the 1st half of games but has played very well in the 2nd in almost every game. Oh, by the way, the Broncos will steamroll in this neighborhood rivalry.

The original call of a double forfeit has been reversed and instead, since Mendota was ahead at the time of the stoppage they will be given the forfeit win. Mendota will have 2 players suspended for 3 games and Avenal will have 5 players suspended also for 3 games so each team’s suspended players would be eligible by the Division Semifinals.

The Bullpups beat Tulare Western 50-6. Junior Kourdey Glass rushed for 108 yards, scored 4 TDs and caught a TD pass from Junior QB Daniel Gomez.
The Hawks lost to Tulare Union 32-25. QB Daniel Gonzalez threw 3 TDs and scored a TD.
The Hawks Lost to TU and then they found out they lost to Taft in week 2 after beating the Wildcats 49-7. The Hawks had to forfeit the game because the Hawks had an illegal player that played in the last play of the game.

Senior QB Logan Stotts went 20-31 for 297 yards with 5 TD passes, rushed for 75 yards and scored a TD. Jude Sheppard caught 11 footballs for 191 yards and 3 TDs. Jamison McMurry rushed for 89 yards and scored a TD.
The Chieftains beat Orcutt Academy 44-14. QB Aaron Irvine went 13-15 for 246 yards, 3 TD passes and scored a TD. Tanner Forrester rushed for 147 yards and scored a TD. Johnny Harshman rushed for 105 yards and scored a TD.
This has turned out to be a tremendous rivalry. Will the Chieftains be intimidated when the Eagles fly into the stadium? The Eagles are the Georgia Bulldogs of 8 man football.
The Eagles will score in the 40 plus point range because that’s what they do and can the Chieftains offense keep up? The Eagles come in banged up and the Chieftains are getting healthy.
The big question will be, who will the Eagles play in the 8 man football championship, Sierra or Riverdale Christian?

Look for RC to roll in this one and they have one thing that motivates them….They want the Fresno Christian Eagles again. The only RC loss was to FC.
