Both teams come in at 1-0 in league and the winner could be playing for the Championship vs Sunnyside.
Toros have been so streaky and the Highlanders are playing at a high lever. Both offenses are explosive so which defense will make the big stops? Last year Torres beat McLane 34-7 but this Highlanders team is so much better.
This is the only game on Thursday night in the area so there should be a good crowd and a great game.

This is a big match up of two physical teams. The Tigers beat up Lindsay 27-0 and held the Cardinals to 80 total yds with 5 sacks & 1 INT. The Tigers rushed for 247 rushing yards on 46 carries averaging 5.37 yds per carry with 8 different Running Backs. The Tigers only threw 3 passes. Isaiah Taylor scored 4 TD’s. If this were an MMA fight, Cards would have tapped out.
The Panthers beat Granite Hills 65-14. The Panthers shut it down after the first quarter.
The winner will probably play Orosi for the league Championship.

The Hornets come in winning their first league game in school history beating Hoover 33-16. Talking about teams going in different directions.. The Hornets are new and a team on the rise.
The Stallions have hit hard times with injuries especially this week on both sides of the ball. This isn’t the same Madera South football program especially when Torres opened up down the road. Torres took away plenty of athletes and Madera South might never be the same again. What is crazy, it was so wrong for so long that Madera South had to play in the CMAC and for years they just didn’t match up with the D1 schedule vs Bullard, Memorial, Edison and Sanger and now they get moved into the NYL with Torres opening and taking all the good feeder schools. The Stallions football team is in struggle mode the rest of the way.

SUNNYSIDE WILDCATS (4-1) (2-0) vs ROOSEVELT ROUGH RIDERS (2-3) (0-2)
The Riders lost to Torres 35-14 and the Wildcats beat Madera South 60-7.
The score was 60-7 late in the game and the Wildcats ran a fake punt and all because the Wildcats coaching staff thought that Matty J had something to do with the corruption of passing-stat gate last year. Even if Matty J was part of it, who cares because Sunnyside cheated.
If you are wondering what I’m talking about, last year Sunnyside cheated on their passing yards by over 500 yards and celebrated breaking former Central Grizzlies Trent Tompkins single season passing record. One little problem, they cheated and have never apologized for it and nothing happened. NOTHING! They even stopped the game last year to celebrate the record breaking moment. Shame on FUSD and Sunnyside High School for putting up with Daddy-ball. It’s unbelievable that the great school like Sunnyside would let this happen and have these coaches run their football program.
For the record, Matty J had nothing to do with passing-stat-gate and deserves an apology. As you know by now, the Pagmeter will be the only one that will bring up corruption like this. If the Pagmeter stays quiet, the great Trent Tompkins record goes away. Think about that.
Coaching has a great fraternity with integrity and Sunnyside forgot that along the way.
I reached out several times to the Sunnyside coaches but got nothing. Apologize already so we can move on!
Seriously…fake punting with the starting QB with the score 60-7 with a running clock just because they tried to justify cheating. You can’t make this up.
