The Broncos traveled all the way to Nevada and now travels to another mountain the opposite way. Badgers Head Coach John Beck graduated from Bishop Union, Coached the O-line at Bishop Union when Broncos Head Coach Arnie Palu started at Bishop Union. Coach Beck is a big mentor to Coach Palu.
This should be a very physical football game.

The Rangers will match up much better vs the Broncos especially the last 2 years (2022 with a 17-16 CN win and 2021 CN 24-21 win)
This is the best CN team that the Rangers will have seen. The Rangers offense will need a big night.

This is a tough call. The Knights are much better than the ass-kicking in Hanford. TW has a new offense that has a long way to go. The Knights offense is also a work in progress.
The PAGMETER is taking the Knights because they are semi battle tested scrimmaging the Liberty Patriots and of course Hanford. This is a must win for the Knights or it could be 0-5 to start the CMAC.

Can the Panthers offense stay with the speedy Tigers?

CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES (1-1) at TURLOCK BULLDOGS (0-2)
The Golden Eagles lost to St Mary’s 38-28. Tyler Patrick threw 2 TD passes Marshel Sanders (95 yards & Landon Wright 67 yards). St Mary’s brought plenty of pressure and the CW defense couldn’t slow down the Rams running attack.
The Bulldogs lost to Rocklin 31-3. Rockin ‘is very good so the score could be misleading.
Here we go again for the 3rd straight year with rotating QBs at Clovis West. How the heck does Senior QB Tyler Patrick stay so calm for 3 years now? You would have to taser me with what Tyler has gone through. This year Clovis West has a special group. Yes CW has issues being thin upfront, struggles running the football and plenty of players playing both ways but the offense can be special!
Because Tyler is a multi-sport athlete, and will be pitching at Fresno State,TP might just be quietly being penalized because of it. Summertime is tough on multi-sport athletes all over the State with so much going on. If that’s the case, that’s total bullshit so I hope that’s not it. Coaches are supposed to share athletes. Caruthers sure has figured that out. If CW is penalizing TP for playing baseball during the summer then shame on the Coaching staff and we all should have an issue with that because every school should be pushing every player to play many sports.
So far in week 1, the Golden Eagles are rotating QBs AGAIN with TP and their JV QB who happens to be the CW offensive coordinator’s son. (Now you get it). Hey I get it, next year Clovis West will be rebuilding and getting film throwing to the fabulous receivers will look good for recruiting but when is it enough? The Head Coach needs to put his big boy pants on and make the call.
I hope that the Golden Eagles can figure it out soon because and I will bet that every division 1 team that they play is loving the rotating of the QBs AGAIN.
WHY DOESN’T ROTATING QBS WORK?
Rotating QBs have never been a good idea since the beginning of time and it’s all because of the rhythm of the game. Yes there are some teams that will mix in wildcat but that’s a different game plan. You pick a starter and go with it! The QB position is by far the toughest position to play in all of sports and you can’t feel the rhythm of the game by sitting and watching on the sidelines.
Every QB is different, the other 10 players in the huddle have to feel and work together with a QB and it’s not easy on them by switching over and over again.
Why is it always coaches who want to rotate QBs that have never played the position of QB?
Pagmeter is an old QB so I’m not talking out my ass here! I’m frustrated and I don’t even have a horse in the race. I’ve watched this crap for 3 years now but this year I had to write about it. It’s so obvious what is happening.
I will guarantee you that next year, Clovis West will not be rotating QBs.
Book it that the Meter says it now, if CW continues to rotate, the Golden Eagles just like that will be a non contender when it’s all said and done and that is sad because this team has the potential to win it all.
Last year Turlock had a horrible first half against CW with turnovers and got smoked.

Can the Warriors match up with the physical Bears?

This is a tough call. The Broncs played tough in a loss to Taft and Sierra got crushed at Minarets. Sierra has injuries and always starts slow with plenty of players playing other summer sports.

The Thunder has their hands full against a very dangerous Bullpups team. It’s official, the best QB in the Central Section plays in Hanford with junior Daniel Gomez who went 18-24 for 400 yards passing, 3 TDs and scored 2 TDs. Really Gomez was 24-24 because there were some drop passes. Daniel is 6’1 200 lb, and reminds me of a former Centennial Golden Hawks/USC Trojans QB Cody Kessler. Daniel has a quick release, throws downhill and is tough to bring down. Junior Kourdey Glass caught 2 TD passes and scored on a rushing TD in the win over Bullard.

The Golden Hawks wore down Redwood 35-13. Angel Lozano rushed for 90 yards and scored 3 TDS. QB Adam Copus went 19-26 for 328 yards and 2 TDs. Jaxton Santiago caught 7 passes for 141 yards and scored 2 TDs.
The G Hawks defense has to play outstanding on the road.
