NON-LEAGUE
COALINGA HORNED TOADS (2-3) vs GARZA GUARDIANS (3-2)

PAGMETER LINE GUARDIANS -7
The Toads got a lesson in the loss to Reedley 42-22 and the Guardians got beat in Sonora 57-18. No stats available.
The PAG Factor, both offenses can put up plenty of points so which defense will step up? Both teams have outstanding sophomore QBs and the Toads have Noah Tasi and the Guardians with Caleb Matthews. Both teams have dangerous play makers when they have the football and the Toads have senior Devin Sanchez and the Guardians with junior London Alexander.
PAGMETER PREDICTION HORNED TOADS 27 GUARDIANS 25

FINAL GUARDIANS 39 HORNED TOADS 24

Guardians QB Caleb Matthews threw 5 TD passes. Big night for London Alexander who caught 3 TD passes, picked off a pass and ran a kickoff back for the 4th time this year. London now has scored 13 TD’s on the year.

MISSION PREP ROYALS (2-2) (1-0) at SANTA YNEZ PIRATES (3-1) (0-1)

NORTH YOSEMITE
HOOVER PATRIOTS (1-3) vs SANGER WEST HORNETS (0-4) at Chuck Shidan Field

PAGMETER LINE PATRIOTS -4
Patriots Jo Pierro and Hornets Rob Thompson are both looking to win their first game as head coaches.
The PAG Factor, the Patriots have the edge but have to finish drives with points.
PAGMETER PREDICTION PATRIOTS 29 HORNETS 25

FINAL PATRIOTS 33 HORNETS 14 CONGRATULATIONS TO JO PIERRO FOR GETTING HIS FIRST WIN AS A HEAD COACH!)

SUNNYSIDE WILDCATS (2-2) (1-0) at MADERA SOUTH STALLIONS (1-3) (0-1)
PAGMETER LINE WILDCATS -7
Both teams come in off disappointing losses. The Wildcats got beat up in the loss to Kerman 44-18 and the Stallions blew a 30-7 lead and lost 34-30 to Madera in the Battle of the Saw. The Stallions had nothing left in the tank and this was the worst loss in school history.
The PAG Factor both of these teams have underachieved so far this year but with this silly playoff format, a 1-2 record is actually a good thing. The Wildcats are ok losing because the Wildcats will steamroll teams in the NYL and will be much better in division 3/division 4. The Wildcats should have flip/flopped with Garza with the NYL/CMAC. Whoever was ok with that was sleeping at the wheel. The young Wildcats have plenty of talent to be in the CMAC and will coast in the NYL and playing in the NYL will not prepare them for a playoff run. The key is getting battle tested with tough games and not coast through games.
When the Stallions are on they can compete with anybody and when the Stallions are off, the Stallions can’t beat the cooks at the local DiCicco’s restaurant.
This is an interesting matchup because the Stallions will not slow down QB Tanner Wilson, WR CJ Jones and the Wildcats passing attack. The Stallions secondary was exposed by the Madera passing attack and the Wildcats are light years better than Madera.
On the other side of it the Wildcats will not slow down the Stallions running attack with Angelo “Thunder” Moreno and Erik “Lightning” Cervantes.
The big X factor and for the Stallions to win they will need to control the clock, call a good game and sophomore QB Ahmed Sharhan needs a great game.
The winner of this game will be in the driver’s seat to be the NYL Champion.
PAGMETER PREDICTION WILDCATS 44 STALLIONS 37

FINAL WILDCATS 52 STALLIONS 12

FRESNO HIGH WARRIORS (0-4) (0-1) at MCLANE HIGHLANDERS (2-2) (1-0)
PAGMETER LINE HIGHLANDERS -18

PAGMETER PREDICTION HIGHLANDERS 32 WARRIORS 13

FINAL HIGHLANDERS 28 WARRIORS 21

TORRES TOROS (2-2) (1-0) vs ROOSEVELT ROUGH RIDERS (0-4) (0-1)
PAGMETER LINE ROUGH RIDERS -3
The Toros come off a bye and the Rough Riders with a disappointing loss to Mendota.
The PAG Factor, can the Riders slow down outstanding Toros junior QB Jose Soriano and the offense? It’s a matter of time when the Riders will put it all together but when will that be?
PAGMETER PREDICTION TOROS 30 ROUGH RIDERS 23

FINAL TOROS 26 ROUGH RIDERS 20

NORTHWEST SEQUOIA
YOSEMITE BADGERS (0-5) (0-2) at CHOWCHILLA TRIBE (3-1) (2-0)

PAGMETER PREDICTION CHOWCHILLA -35 RUNNING CLOCK
The Badgers lost to Madera Ranchos 43-0. There was a running clock in the first quarter and the game was called at halftime because the Badgers only had 11 players left to play.
The Tribe beat Parlier 49-6. Joey Garcia scored 3 TDs, Maleek Cobian scored 2 TDs, Dwayne Hemphill scored a TD, Davian Stephenson caught a TD pass from Benson Soares and the Tribe defense played outstanding.
The PAG Factor, the Badgers are expected to have some more players back for the game. New head coach Josh Wisniowski is trying to build a foundation and the Badgers shit show of not having enough players started last year from the corrupt administration. The good news is the Yosemite administration is way better this year. Yosemite used to be a hard-nose physical football program and when you played in Oakhurst, you just knew you were in trouble. Many families said enough so Yosemite will take time to fix. Is it time for Yosemite to play 8-man football? It’s sad to even have to ask that. Stay tuned.
PAGMETER PREDICTION TRIBE 50 BADGERS 0

FINAL TRIBE 54 BADGERS 0

PARLIER PANTHERS (0-4) (0-1) at FOWLER REDCATS (3-1) (1-0)
PAGMETER PREDICTION REDCATS -35 RUNNING CLOCK
This is an old fashion rivalry with these schools so close to each other but not this year.
The PAG Factor the Panthers are trying to build a program and the Redcats are rolling with a tremendous program.
You remember not long ago when David Muro was the Parlier head coach. Coach Muro was fantastic but the Parlier administration did a horrible job of supporting the football program and Coach Muro left. I just hope that the Parlier administration is supporting Head Coach Drew Halstead because Parlier is really lucky to have Coach Drew!
PAGMETER PREDICTION REDCATS 51 PANTHERS 0

FINAL REDCATS 39 PANTHERS 8

CARUTHERS BLUE RAIDERS (3-2) (1-1) at LIBERTY MADERA HAWKS (5-0) (2-0)
PAGMETER LINE HAWKS -12
This is the big early showdown in league play.
The Blue Raiders beat Riverdale 57-14. QB Collin Hirschkorn threw 4 TD passes. Hunter Babb scored a TD, and Noah Puga rushed for 105-yards & scored 2 TDs.
The Hawks beat Yosemite 43-0 in about 10 minutes because the game was called at halftime.
The PAG Factor, can the Blue Raiders slow down the Italian Stallion Vince Oberti who has rushed for 477-yards, scored 8 TDs and the Hawks power offense?
The Blue Raiders offense is going to need a big night.
PAGMETER PREDICTION HAWKS 35 BLUE RAIDERS 21

FINAL HAWKS 27 BLUE RAIDERS 24

RIVERDALE COWBOYS (4-1) (1-1) at MINARETS MUSTANGS (0-4) (0-2)
PAGMETER LINE COWBOYS -25
Both teams had ugly losses in week 4.
PAG Factor, the Cowboys need to throw away last week’s game film and get back on the horse.
The Mustangs are still trying to find their offense.
PAGMETER PREDICTION COWBOYS 39 MUSTANGS 13

FINAL COWBOYS 42 MUSTANGS 14

ATASCADERO GREYHOUNDS (2-3) (1-0) at SANTA MARIA SAINTS (2-3) (0-1)

The Hounds with a big win over Everett Alvarez 42-36 in OT. QB Kane Cooks scored a TD and threw 2 TD passes to Mason Degnan. Diego Real rushed for 106-yards and scored a TD and Trey Cooks scored 2 TDs.
The Saints played tough in the loss to Santa Ynez 21-0. QB Josue Elena went 21 of 30 for 196 yards but couldn’t get in the end zone.
The PAG Factor, this is a great matchup and a battle of two even teams. Which team will make the big plays? Who can pick up the big 3rd down conversion?
PAGMETER PREDICTION GREYHOUNDS 29 SAINTS 27

FINAL GREYHOUNDS 28 SAINTS 24

CABRILLO CONQUISTADORS (2-2) (0-1) at SAN LUIS OBISPO TIGERS (4-1) (1-0)
PAGMETER LINE TIGERS -27
The Conquistadors come in off a bye and the Tigers beat North 28-0. The Tigers defense played lights out all night long. Isaiah Hernandez rushed 125-yards and scored 2 TDs. Jace Gomes and Nolan Attala each scored a TD.
The PAG Factor, After the loss to AG, the Tigers are now playing tremendous football on both sides of the ball.
PAGMETER PREDICTION TIGERS 41 CONQUISTADORS 13

FINAL TIGERS 54 CONQUISTADORS 14

SOUTH SEQUOIA
KENNEDY THUNDERBIRDS (3-2) (1-0) at TAFT WILDCATS (2-3) (0-1)

PAGMETER LINE WILDCATS -7
The Thunderbirds beat East 34-0. The defense played physical and stuffed the blades.
QB Julian Orozco threw a 22-yard TD pass to Petey Barraza, Damien Flores rushed for 82 yards, Julian Sanchez & Gamiez Helm each scored a TD, and Estevan Orozco scored 2 TDs.
The Wildcats beat Arvin 28-21. Cyris Gaylord rushed for 159 yards and scored 2 TDs on 20 carries, and also caught a TD pass from Jayce Moore. Caleb Kozloski scored a TD.
The PAG Factor, both teams are so close at putting a long streak together. Can the Birds play physical defense again this week?
PAGMETER PREDICTION THUNDERBIRDS 23 WILDCATS 21

FINAL THUNDERBIRDS 21 WILDCATS 0

WASCO TIGERS (3-1) (1-0) at MCFARLAND COUGARS (2-3) (0-1)
PAGMETER LINE TIGERS -35 RUNNING CLOCK
The Tigers lost a tough game to Tehachapi 27-20. QB David Manzo 2 late TD pases and the Tigers just fell short.
The Cougars lost to Kern Valley 20-7. Way too many mistakes for the Cougars.
The PAG Factor, this is not a good matchup for the Cougars.
PAGMETER PREDICTION TIGERS 52 COUGARS 7

FINAL TIGERS 45 COUGARS 14

NON-LEAGUE
BULLARD KNIGHTS (1-4) at CLOVIS COUGARS (3-2)

PAGMETER LINE COUGARS -6
The Knights lost to Clovis West 28-14. Nick “Stubby” Stubblefield and Dominic Gonzalez each scored the Knights TDs.
The Cougars played tough in the loss to Salinas 50-34. The Cougars had a 34-33 lead in the 3rd quarter. Deagan Rose had a huge breakout game throwing 5 TD passes.
The PAG Factor, last year the Cougars were a 14 point favorite over the Knights and the Knights pulled the upset at McLane. This year both teams are very young. The Knights will lead with sophomore QB Josh Madrigal and the Cougars with freshman Deagan Rose. The Knights kryptonite is facing fast receivers. The Knights ran out of gas against Hanford and Clovis West because of lack of depth. The Cougars are more of a balanced team that wants to attack the line of scrimmage.
The Cougars vs the Knights are always a battle and one of the best rivalries in the Central Section.
PAGMETER PREDICTION COUGARS 27 KNIGHTS 21

FINAL COUGARS 21 KNIGHTS 14

SANGER APACHES (1-4) at CENTENNIAL GOLDEN HAWKS (5-0)
PAGMETER LINE GOLDEN HAWKS -31
The Apaches lost to Lemoore 42-18. The Apaches had no answers vs the Tigers speed.
The Golden Hawks beat Ridgeview 47-7. Jaxton Santiago had a fantastic night catching 2 TD passes from Adam Copus and picked off 2 passes. Carson Eldridge had a pick-6 and returned a kickoff for a TD. Copus threw for 212 yards and 3 TDs.
The PAG Factor, the Apaches have to be able to control the line of scrimmage with the run game to stay close because there is a zero chance that the Apaches defense can matchup with the G Hawks offense.
PAGMETER PREDICTION GOLDEN HAWKS 44 APACHES 13

FINAL GOLDEN HAWKS 35 APACHES 26

LIBERTY PATRIOTS (3-1) at CENTRAL GRIZZLIES (3-2)
PAGMETER LINE GRIZZLIES -3
The Patriots come in losing to Buchanan 35-27. OR DID THE PATRIOTS LOSE? The Patriots just scored with 10:59 left in the game and the game was called because of so-called lightning.
The game should have been finished. Wait an hour or 2 hours if needed. This was the big boy game and somebody screwed the pooch by shutting the game down. SIMPLY WRONG!
Kresean Kizzy returned a punt 34 yards for a TD, and then Kizzy caught a TD pass from Jace Nixon to make the score 14-0 and then the Patriots defense got their ass kicked for 5 straight Bears TDs. The Patriots then battled back, Jace Nixon hit Caleb Reiswig on a 29-yard TD pass and with 10:59 left in the game, Jace Nixon scored on a 1-yard TD run and the game ended.
If the game would have been played the full 48 minutes, the Patriots probably would have won but we will never know now and that’s why we play 48 minutes to find out!!
The Grizzlies with a huge win on the road beating a state power Bishop Diego 38-34. With 2 seconds to go, QB Dayton Tafoya hit Josh Hill on a beautiful 25-yard TD pass and the game winner. The PAGMETER Player of the Week for Week 4, Dayton Tafoya went 22-39 for 351 yards, 5 TD passes and rushed for 70-yards. Receiving, Braylen Hall, 7 receptions for 139-yards &TD, LaDanian Streets, also caught 7 footballs, for 103-yards & 2 TD’s, Noel Felix III, 4 receptions for 74-yards, TD, Dayton Scott 4 receptions for 44-yards, TD. Rushing, David Bell 17 carries for 110-yards,TD, and Michael James, 6 carries for 40-yards,TD.
The PAG Factor, this is a rematch from the Central Section Championship when Liberty crushed the Grizzlies at Central. The Big question is, who is the better team this year? For starters, Tafoya is so much better this year and thank god it looks like the Patriots are done with the QB rotation because rotating QBs have never worked in 100 years. Looks like it will be Jace Nixon.
The Patriots are one of the best teams on the road and they love coming up north. This game will be a great game and if the Patriots win, probably looking at the No 2 ranking and a Patriots loss, could move all the way to No 6. Good news is there will be great weather and this game could come down to the final minutes.
PAGMETER PREDICTION GRIZZLIES 30 PATRIOTS 28

FINAL PATRIOTS 35 GRIZZLIES 10

MISSION OAK HAWKS (4-1) at CVC CAVALIERS (5-0)
PAGMETER LINE CAVALIERS -17
No 1 division 3 at No 1 division 2
The Hawks beat Mt Whitney 30-6. The D-line did a nice job stuffing the Pioneers running game for a total of 40 yards. QB Daniel Gonzalez threw for 384-yards & 3 TD passes, (Kenny Jackson 16-yards, Anthony Jackson 21-yards and Landon Aquirre 28-yards)
The Cavaliers got the biggest win in school history beating Clovis North 23-9. The Caves defense dominated the line of scrimmage. Caleb Callison scored on a 1 yard TD run followed by Jaeden Moore 2-point conversion and the Caves took care of business the rest of the game. Max Bakker threw 2 TD passes, Andrew Moorehead 7-yards and Zach Zwart 23-yards.
The PAG Factor, the Hawks are stepping up to play the big and bad Cavaliers. The Hawks have plenty of speed and will need a big night on both sides of the ball.
Plenty of talent on both teams and the leading the way will be,
The Hawks with QB Daniel Gonzalez who has thrown for 1,149 yards and 13 TD passes,
Kenny Jackson Jr with 31 receptions, 479-yards, 5 TDs, Jacob Ramirez with 14 receptions for 231 yards, 2 TDs, Anthony Jackson with 10 catches, for 179 yards, 4 TDs, and Landon Aguirre with 5 receptions for 107 yards, & 2 TDs.
For the Cavaliers, Max Bakker is one of the best money QBs in the Central Section and has thrown 10 TD passes. Max is always so cool under pressure. All Everything TE/DE 6 ‘4 Jaeden Moore is the most dominating player in the Central Section. Then there is Moore’s sidekick 6’4 Zach Zwart who dominates on the other side of the ball on offense & defense.
Oh by the way the Cavaliers can run the ball with the Italian Stallion Blake Gambini and Caleb Callison. I would say the Cavaliers might have a let down after beating the first TRAC team in school history but this Cavaliers team is a machine and has plenty of senior leaders to ever let that happen.
The HUGE X factor, can the Hawks run the football? If the Hawks can’t run the ball then Gonzalez will be running from trouble. Look for the Hawks to throw quick passes and let the WRs do their thing. The Hawks offense will look just like Fresno State’s O with quick screens, swing passes, with the WRs blocking out in front. The Hawks have not been tested yet and CVC sure has. The Hawks will need some big plays on offense because it might be tough to have long drives against the Caves defense. To beat the Cavaliers, it might be through the air. Can the Cavaliers tackle the Hawks speedy receivers?
PAGMETER CAVALIERS 40 HAWKS 25

FINAL CAVALIERS 42 HAWKS 7

CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES (4-0) at TULARE UNION TRIBE (1-3)
PAGMETER LINE T Wolves -25
The T Wolves come in off a bye and I’m thinking the Wolves didn’t want a bye averaging 50 points a game.
The Tribe sure did need a bye after losing to Redwood 40-28.
The PAG Factor, the young T Wolves are one of the great stories of 2022.
Leading the T Wolves is sophomore QB Ty Miller who has thrown for 824-yards & 12 TD passes. One of the best young WRs in the state is Harold Duvall who has caught 12 passes for 442-yards and 5 TDs. Leading the running attack is Lamaj Travis who has scored 5 TDs.
The Tribe will need a huge night from QB Sam Gonzalez, RBs K.J. Daniels and Tieler Peterson.
The Tribe might score some points but slowing down the T Wolves offense will be tough.

FINAL T WOLVES 49 TRIBE 34

CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS (3-2) at BAKERSFIELD DRILLERS (1-3)
PAGMETER LINE DRILLERS -2
The Broncos lost to CVC 23-9. The Broncos played the Cavaliers tough. Vinny Cordoba scored the Broncos TD and red hot defensive linemen Rylee Hamm got a sack in the end zone for a safety.
The Drillers shutout Stockdale 51-0. Tybo Rogers rushed for 168-yards, scored on a TD run and caught a TD pass. QB Ty Monteiro went 8-10 with a TD pass and scored 3 TDs.
The PAG Factor, Can the Drillers front-seven slow down the Broncos power running game? Can the Broncos defense slow down Tybo and company?
PAGMETER LINE DRILLERS 25 BRONCOS 21

FINAL BRONCOS 37 DRILLERS 14

EDISON TIGERS (3-1) vs CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES (5-0)
PAGMETER LINE GOLDEN EAGLES -7
The Tigers beat El Diamante 34-2. The defense played lights out. Ya’J Vance threw a TD pass to Dezjour Malone and scored a TD. Charles Butler rushed for 102-yards, scored 2 TDs, and Anthony Jones scored a TD.
The Golden Eagles beat Bullard 28-14. Ryan Markarian went 15-25 for 221-yards and threw a TD pass to Marshel Sanders . Aidan Fortenberry scored 2 TDs and David Cummings scored a TD. Mychael Crawford had a big night on defense with 3 sacks and 5 tackles.
The PAG Factor, can the Tigers front-seven match up with the very good Clovis West running game? The Tigers season starts in this game and we will find out just how good the Tigers really are. This Golden Eagles team is very good on both sides of the ball and the Tigers can’t afford ugly penalties or turnovers to beat CW.

FINAL GOLDEN EAGLES 38 TIGERS 0

WASHINGTON UNION PANTHERS (3-1) at DINUBA EMPERORS (2-3)
PAGMETER LINE EMPERORS -9
The Panthers come in off a bye and the Emperors beat Selma 36-7. Diego Tuttle rushed for 108-yards on only 2 carries and scored a TD.
The PAG Factor, it has to be the Panthers defense. The Panthers offense can score points but can they make the big stops vs the hot Emperors.

PAGMETER LINE TITANS -25
The Falcons beat South 44-34. Richard Gooden rushed for 100 yards and scored on a 49-yard TD run, Ethan Eckles carried the ball twice and scored on 30 & 63 yard TD runs. QB Prince Ellis, who transferred in from South and played against his old team scored a TD. Anthony Rico scored 2 TDs on runs of 5 and 55 yards.
The Titans lost a tough one to Hanford 49-47. The Titans offense played fantastic. QB Malacki Statler threw for 401 yards and 2 TDs, Sam Marquez rushed for 184-yards and scored 4 TDs. Devin Cockren caught 10 footballs for 148-yards & TD, Mason Tapia with 9 catches for 147-yards & TD and John Appleton picked up a fumble and took it back for a 36-yard TD. The Titans had a chance to win, but missed a long field goal attempt.
The PAG Factor, and as you can see both offenses are on fire so which defense will step up. The Titans are the best 2nd half team in the Central Section and have to forget about the Hanford game.

REDWOOD RANGERS (3-2) at HANFORD BULLPUPS (4-1)
PAGMETER LINE BULLPUPS -21
The Rangers come in beating Tulare Western 30-7. Alex Perch scored on a 8-yard TD run, Jacob Perch scored on a 1-yard TD run, Jacob Florez scored on a 22-yard TD run, and Will Kennedy nailed a 26-yard FG.
The Bullpups beat Frontier 49-47. The Bullpups had a 35-14 lead at the half and had to hang on with the win. Kourdey Glass rushed for 191-yards and scored 2 TDs, sophomore QB Daniel Gomez threw for 229-yards and threw a 54-yard TD pass to Donovan Smith, Albert Richardson scored 4 TD including the game winner.
The PAG Factor, last year the Rangers beat the Bullpups 24-21 and you just know that both teams have watched the game film a bunch of times. The Rangers are wondering if they can find the magic again this year? The Rangers are one of the few teams that has had success over Hanford.
The Rangers are playing their best football heading in.
Can the Rangers match up with the Bullpups running game and speedy WRs? For the Rangers to pull the upset, they have to run the football, work the clock and finish with points. The Rangers can’t win in a shootout. The Rangers are not a throwing team and they will have to complete some big 3rd down passes to win this year. Can the Rangers win and cover the spread?

GOLDEN VALLEY BULLDOGS (2-3) at MADERA COYOTES (3-2)
PAGMETER LINE COYOTES -3
The Bulldogs lost to Delano 22-15. QB Rafael Valderrama went 10- 21 passing for 171 yards and threw a 20-yard TD pass to Nick Abbott who had five catches for 116 yards.
Coyotes beat Madera South 34-30 in one of the greatest comeback wins in school history. The Coyotes were down 30-7 and battled all the way back for the huge win. The Stallions with the ball on the 1-yard line on the last play of the game and the Coyotes with a GREAT goal line stand stuffed the Stallions and game over.
The PAG Factor, this is a tough call because both teams are so streaky. Can the Coyotes slow down the Bulldogs offense? With this silly playoff format, the winner qualifies for the playoff tournament.

PORTERVILLE PANTHERS (4-0) at HIGHLAND SCOTS (2-3)
PAGMETER LINE PANTHERS -13
The Panthers come off a bye and the Scots lost to Chavez 40-21. George Vengas scored a TD, and Diego Duenas and Nick Gonzales each caught TD passes
The PAG Factor, the Panthers have given up 6 points in 3 games so if the Panthers offense has a night, the bus ride home should be fun. Leading the Panthers offense is senior RB Jaret Garcia who has scored 6 TDs. Junior QB Rocky Arguijo is playing better and better with every game he plays. Rocky’s favorite WR is senior receiver Alfredo Nunez who has caught 13 footballs for 151 yards and a TD.
The Scots are very good and very streaky.

FINAL PANTHERS 30 SCOTS 28

BUCHANAN BEARS (5-0) at MEMORIAL PANTHERS (3-2)
PAGMETER LINE BEARS -3
The Bears come in beating Liberty 35-27. The Bears win and the game is called with 10:59 to go because of so-called lightning. The game should have been played the full 48 minutes.. Buchanan was already there in Bakersfield and they could have waited as long as possible because this is the big boy division. QB Jayden Mandal went 18-23 for 242 yards and a TD. Michael Runnels scored 2 TDs including a 50-yard TD run and Gus Remlinger scored on a long TD run.
The Panthers beat Garces in the 75th anniversary of the Holy Bowl 28-6. The Panthers defense played outstanding all night long. Brandon Ramirez scored on 32 and 28 yard TD runs. Tye Morgan scored on a 43-yard TD run and Donovan Harris scored a TD.
The PAG Factor, It doesn’t look like it but Garces was in this game and the Rams made plenty of horrible mistakes at the wrong time.
The Panthers are now playing in the big boy division for the first time and Garces gave the Panthers plenty of opportunities to go for it on offense but the Panthers were scared to go for it and played it safe all night long. The Rams defense was all in at slowing down Brando with the run game and if the Rams didn’t play such a bad game, the final minutes would have been crazy. The Rams went cover zero most of the night and still the Panthers played it safe. The Panthers have plenty of speedy receivers, the Rams played man-man defense and the Panthers didn’t attack it. The problem with the Panthers thinking especially on the offensive side of things, is they have never really played a tough schedule, they have tons of supper athletes over the years and you can get away with a simple game-plan when you have the super athletes but playing the top teams in the Central Section week after week, the coaches on the other team who are very good and will out coach that simpleton game plan most every time.
Do the Panthers want to win or are they afraid to lose? It’s a big difference because they are now playing the best team this Friday night in the Central Section and if they play it safe, the Panthers will lose. The Panthers defense is so good that you can play it vanilla and win against most teams.
This game could be a defensive battle of two outstanding defenses and the big X factor is the Bears will lead with the best QB in the Central Section Jayden Mandal and I will guarantee you the Bears will not play it safe. The Bears will go for the win. Look for the Panthers to ride the Brando train all night long.

The Bears lost to Taft 28-21. Chris Carlos rushed for 104 yards and scored 2 TDs on 10 carries. QB Omar Pardo went 12-21 passing for 77 yards, and scored a TD. Jack Kasinger caught 5 passes for 43 yards.
The PAG Factor, the Bears are getting better and better with every game they play and unless the Warriors come in with a Wasco hangover, the Warriors machine will roll.

WEST VIKINGS (1-3) at TEMPLETON EAGLES (3-1)
PAGMETER PREDICTION Vikings-3
The Vikings are healthy and finally getting some senior leadership in the win over Mira Monte 34-0. The Lions had plenty of turnovers and the Vikings took advantage of them. QB Jack Parks rushed for 90 yards, scored a TD on 18 carries, and went 4-5 passing for 80 yards and threw a 25-yard TD pass to David Leon.
The Eagles beat Firebaugh 13-7. It was ugly but a win is a win. Landon Miller scored a TD and River Waltmire nailed 2 field goals.
The PAG Factor, Eagles Head Coach Don Crow gets to take on his old West Vikings team. Coach Crow was a big part of one of the greatest Vikings teams in Central Section History with that great 1977 Vikings Valley Championship team.
Can the Eagles throw the ball when needed? Can the Vikings show the potential to be a good team like they are supposed to be?

BISHOP UNION BRONCOS (4-0) at TRINITY CLASSICAL ACADEMY KNIGHTS (Valencia) (3-0) at Fillmore CANCELED

TRINITY CLASSICAL CANNOT FIND OFFICIALS FOR THE GAME ON FRIDAY AND THEY CAN’T GET A STADIUM FOR SATURDAY SO THIS GAME IS CANCELED AND CAN”T MOVE IT TO BISHOP UNION HIGH SCHOOL SO THE GAME WITH TWO OUTSTANDING TEAMS IN CANCELED,

The Broncos beat Burroughs 19-7 and retained the “High Desert Classic” trophy. The Bronco defense held the Burros scoreless until the final minutes of the game playing great team defense. Senior DB Carson Schmidt had a team high 7 tackles. Senior LB Isaac Reno made the start and recorded 4 tackles and a big tackle for a loss. Senior lineman Kaelan Smith had a pair of sacks, a tackle for a loss and knocked down a pass. Junior NG Wes Jorgensen had another big night with 5 tackles and 3 tackles for loss. Senior Albert Cano had 3 solo tackles and a pass break up. Junior Austin Powell made 5 tackles and broke up a pass. Junior QB Boden St. Marie played a role in all 3 TDs scoring a TD and throwing 2 TD passes. St. Marie rushed for 75 yards and threw for 182 yards. 7 Broncos caught passes with sophomore Milton Michel and Junior Jason Mullner catching TDs.
Trinity beat Grace Brethren 56-20. Senior QB Dominic Smith threw for 291-yards and 5 TD passes.
The PAG Factor, the Trinity game was added once the Desert Scorpions canceled their season and it is the best thing for the Broncos because the Broncos have outgrown the High Desert league. The Broncos are No 1 in division 5 and every tough game they play will help when the playoffs roll around. Playing the HDL teams and winning 50-0 every game will not help but playing a good Trinity team will.
Can the Broncos slow down the Knights who are averaging 52 points per game?
THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT GAME AND IT’S SAD THAT IT IS CANCELED. THE GAME SHOULD HAVE BEEN MOVED TO BISHOP UNION AND THE BRONCOS OFFERED AND TRINITY SAID NO BUT I’M THINKING TRINITY DOESN’T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE BAD-ASS BRONCOS!

TRANQUILITY TIGERS (0-4) at SIERRA CHIEFTAINS (5-0)
PAGMETER LINE CHIEFTAINS -14
The Tigers come in off a bye and the Chieftains beat Coast Union from Cambria 48-36 in 8-man football.
The PAG Factor, I can’t imagine how hard coaching is for Sierra going from 8-man football to 11-man football. It’s time for Sierra to shut down 8-man football because the football program is good and booming. In 4 games the Chieftains have scored 27 TDs and total offense of 1,800 yards in three-11 man football games & one 8-man game. Sierra needs to call the CIF today and tell them they want in with 11 man football. Right now they would be a high division 6 seed.
The Tigers are a team that will play hard-nose physical football.
