In his Braves Career, Cavin has thrown for 5,935 yards and 69 TD passes and that’s counting the short season when the world ended in 2020.
THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FINAL SCORES
CORCORAN PANTHERS (1-1) vs HANFORD WEST HUSKIES (1-2)
Cats vs Dog Bowl
PAGMETER LINE PANTHERS -3
The Panthers come in off a bye. In week 1, the Panthers beat Fowler 27-13. The Huskies lost to Strathmore 46-20.
The PAG factor, the Huskies have played a tough schedule and has plenty of team speed and so does the Panthers. Leading the Panthers is QB Gage Armbruster.
Can the Huskies defense play a good game against the Panthers who had a week off? THEY SURE DID!!
PAGMETER PREDICTION PANTHERS 20 HUSKIES 18
FINAL HUSKIES 12 PANTHERS 10
ROOSEVELT ROUGH RIDERS (0-2) vs MISSION OAK HAWKS (3-0)
PAGMETER LINE HAWKS -23
The Riders played their opening game and lost to Reedley 26-16. The Hawks beat Immanuel 35-10.
The PAG factor, can the Riders defense slow down the up-tempo Hawks attack who are averaging 46 ppg? QB Danny Gonzalez has thrown 9 TD passes and is loving the Hawks offense after transferring from Redwood. The Rough Riders’ new offense will take time.
PAGMETER PREDICTION HAWKS 37 ROUGH RIDERS 14
FINAL HAWKS 28 ROUGH RIDERS 13
DELANO TIGERS (2-1) at NORTH STARS (2-1)
PAGMETER LINE STARS -12
This is a very interesting match up of two very interesting teams.

FINAL STARS 41 TIGERS 27
TAFT WILDCATS (2-1) at TEHACHAPI WARRIORS (3-0)
PAGMETER LINE WARRIORS -19
This is always a battle when the Cats play the Warriors! This is the first meeting in 3 years.
The Wildcats beat Foothill 48-18. The Wildcats had 400 yards of offense and held the Trojans to 82 yards of offense. Caleb Kozloski rushed for 120 yards and scored a TD. Blaine Neudorf, Jayce Moore and Cyris Gaylord combined for 197 yards rushing and 5 TDs.
The Warriors beat Highland 42-7. Give big credit to the Scots & Warriors ADs for playing this game. There were plenty of electrical issues at the Tehachapi stadium. Dilapidated facilities that the district has neglected for years forced the game to be played in the afternoon. This should have been taken care of in June. Old and outdated and the Tehachapi community is not happy….Both teams came togethers and made it happen. The good news is the electrical issue is fixed for now and good to go.
The PAG factor, this will be a battle of two very good offenses that are physical. Which front-7 on defense will play better?
PAGMETER PREDICTION WARRIORS 33 WILDCATS 13
FINAL WARRIORS 30 WILDCATS 20
MONACHE MARAUDERS (1-2) at WASCO TIGERS (2-0)
PAGMETER LINE TIGERS -3
The Marauders made the adjustments after a horrible week 1 crushing loss to Mission Oak 55-0 and beat Chavez 35-20.
The Tigers come off a bye after beating South 30-25 on the last play of the game.
The PAG factor is who will be the contender? The Marauders offense has the capabilities of putting up plenty of points. Will the Tigers have the same magic as last year?
Can the Marauders defense stay with the Tigers physical running attack? THEY DID NOT. The Marauders might just be the most improved team in the Central Section. In week 1, the Marauders got slaughtered by Mission Oak and last week was a completely different team. Which Marauders team will show up?
PAGMETER PREDICTION TIGERS 30 MARAUDERS 24
FINAL TIGERS 40 MARAUDERS 20
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
ARROYO GRANDE EAGLES (1-2) at SAN LUIS OBISPO TIGERS (2-1)
PAGMETER LINE TIGERS -15
The Eagles have started the year with a heartbreaking loss to Golden West 16-13. With 1:30 left in the game, the Eagles lined up for a 20-yard field goal and the Blazers blocked the field goal and returned it all the way back for the game winning TD. That is a 10 point flip-flop in 10 seconds. On Friday AG lost to a very good Centennial team 39-7.
The Tigers traveled to the hot valley and beat Caruthers 28-7. Sophomore QB Jace Gomes scored 2 TDs, Nolan Attala, Isaiah Hernandez each scored TDs and the Tigers defense played outstanding.
The PAG factor, the Tigers are playing the first game in the newly renovated Holt Field and it will be a packed house. Both teams will be fired up. Can the Eagles offense score enough to stay with the Tigers?
PAGMETER PREDICTION TIGERS 29 EAGLES 14
FINAL EAGLES 26 TIGERS 14
AVENAL BUCCANEERS (2-1) at RIVERDALE COWBOYS (3-0)
PAGMETER LINE COWBOYS -3

The Cowboys beat Orange Cove 22-18. Juan Martinez rushed for 106 yards, QB Xaidyn Camacho went 6-8 for 61 yards passing. Isaac Romero rushed for 118 yards and scored 2 TDs.
The PAG factor, this will be a battle on the line of scrimmage. The team that can finish drives, cut down the turnovers will be 3-0.
PAGMETER PREDICTION COWBOYS 26 BUCCANEERS 23
FINAL COWBOYS 20 BUCCANEERS 12
BULLARD KNIGHTS (1-2) at FRONTIER TITANS (3-0)
PAGMETER LINE TITANS -3
We will find out who is the big contender after this one really is.
The Knights got crushed in week 1 to Hanford and the young Knights learned a lot because in week 2 the Knights came out and kicked some ass beating Tulare Western 53-7.
The Titans beat Bakersfield 27-24. The Titans had a 27-12 lead and the Titans defense made some big stops. John Appleton returned the game’s opening kickoff for a TD. Junior QB Malakhi Statler scored a TD and threw a TD to Kobie Watson and Brycen Tablit scored a TD.
The PAG factor, both of these teams are very even and both defenses are very good. Hopefully we will find out which Knights team we will see the rest of the year. Will it be the team that got beat up by Hanford or the team that crushed TW? Both of these teams will only get better with some young QBs with Statler and the Knights with sophomore Josh Madrigal. The Knights are starting 8 sophomores and this team reminds Coach Arax of the 2007 team with so many sophomores starting and 2 years later in 2009 the Knights won their first Central Section Championship in school history.
This should be a very good game. This could come down to the final drive or a big play.
PAGMETER PREDICTION TITANS 20 KNIGHTS 19
FINAL TITANS 24 KNIGHTS 20
WHITNEY WILDCATS (Rocklin) (2-1) at CLOVIS COUGARS (2-1)
THE CAT BOWL

The Wildcats come in beating Woodcreek of Roseville 21-9. Leading the way is junior 6’5 QB Trevor Hargis.
The Cougars beat Sanger 14-7 and congratulations to Aaron Wilkins who won his first game ever as a Head Coach. The Cougars defense stepped up. QB Deagan Rose threw 2 TD passes. Dominic Decanio caught a 53 yard TD and Jacob Saldate caught a 10 yard TD.
The PAG factor, both defenses are very good so the Cougars offense needs a big night to win at Lamonica.
PAGMETER PREDICTION WILDCATS 24 COUGARS 21
COUGARS 21 WILDCATS 3
CABRILLO CONQUISTADORS (2-1) at LOMPOC BRAVES (3-0)
PAGMETER LINE BRAVES -35 RUNNING CLOCK
The Conquistadors are now 2-0 playing in the Central Section after coming in with a 37 game losing streak. The Dores come in beating Nipomo 13-6. The defense played tremendou and picked up the offense. Robert Rojas picked up a fumble and took it in for a TD.
The Braves beat Pioneer Valley 54-7. The Braves pretty much shut it down at halftime. Senior QB Cavin Ross threw 6 TD passes. Nelson Maldonado caught 4 TDs, Monte Ortiz and Rudy Elizondo each caught a TD pass. Ross has now thrown 11 TD passes in 2 games.
The PAG factor, can the new and improved Conquistadors stay with the red hot Braves? The over/under for Ross TD passes is 4. Take the over. ROSS HAD 6 TD PASSES. The Braves will be too much on both sides of the ball. Look for the Braves to shut it down early.
PAGMETER PREDICTION BRAVES 56 CONQUISTADORS 0
FINAL BRAVES 62 CONQUISTADORS 7
CVC CAVALIERS (3-0) at BAKERSFIELD CHRISTIAN EAGLES (1-2)
The Christian Bowl
PAGMETER LINE CAVALIERS -14
The Cavaliers come in beating Mt Whitney 44-0. The defense played outstanding. QB Max Bakker threw 3 TD passes, Jaeden Moore caught 2 TDs (50 & 15 yards) and Caleb Callison (10 yards) caught a TD. Cooper Noland scored on a 43 yard pick-6. TE Zach Zwart threw a 55 yard TD pass to Chapman Dunn & Zach Zwart caught a 17 yard TD pass from Brent Kroeze.
The Eagles lost to St Joseph 38-7. Bryson Waterman scored the Eagles TD.
The PAG factor, the Eagles need to play great on both sides of the ball to beat the hot Caves. The Eagles lost to St Joseph and the question is, were the Eagles looking ahead to hosting the Christian Bowl?
PAGMETER PREDICTION CAVALIERS 35 EAGLES 21
FINAL CAVALIERS 34 EAGLES 14
CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES (3-0) vs SANGER APACHES (1-2)
The Battle of Jensen Ave
PAGMETER LINE T WOLVES -18
These schools are eastside neighbors and this is a heated rivalry. We all remember the big fight after the game in 2019. Even both administrations got into it. Final score in 2019 was Sanger 21 Clovis East 14. It all started when CE got upset that the Apaches were showing off the Apaches’ big flags at Lamonica after the win. Sanger made a mental note because the year before the T Wolves beat Sanger and after the game the T Wolves were running around with the T Wolves flags. Sanger won last year’s game 14-10.
The T Wolves come into week 3 beating Atwater 52-21. Soph Ty Miller threw 5 TD passes and soph Harold Duvall caught 2 TD passes. Ty has now thrown 9 TD passes on the year and Harold has caught 4 of them.
The Apaches come in with a bad loss to Clovis 14-7. Way too many turnovers in the loss.
The PAG factor and I really thought the Apaches were a contender and are they? The Apaches come in banged up. Were the Apaches looking past the Cougars for the T Wolves game? Can the Apaches slow down red hot Ty Miller and the T Wolves offense? For the Apaches to make 3 straight wins over CE, they can’t afford turnovers, must win the line of scrimmage and have to be very physical. Can the T Wolves slow down the Apaches offense?
Will the winning team fly the flag after the game?
PAGMETER PREDICTION T WOLVES 35 APACHES 17
FINAL T WOLVES 49 APACHES 7
CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES (3-0) at LEMOORE TIGERS (2-1)
PAGMETER LINE GOLDEN EAGLES -21
The Golden Eagles come in beating up Turlock 48-0. In 2 games, the Golden Eagles are 90-0. The Golden Eagles speed and Bulldog turnovers were the difference. Junior Qb Tyler Patrick had the Golden Eagles in control before senior QB Ryan Markarian came in and finished it off. Jordan Pierro caught a TD and had a 52 yard pick 6.
The Tigers beat Washington Union 56-35. Senior QB Ty Chambers threw 5 TD passes and scored a TD. The Tigers have scored 134 points in 2 games.
PAG factor, the Tigers are a scoring machine but can the Tigers defense stay with the Golden Eagles offense. The Tigers have to think of this game like a tennis match and have to hold serve and score almost every time they have the football and can’t afford to punt much.
The Golden Eagles are 2-0 but they have played 2 horrible offenses so we will see how they handle a very good Tigers offense. The big question mark is the Tigers defense. Can they slow down the Golden Eagles passing attack?
Last year the Golden Eagles rotated QBs with Patrick and Markarian and it was a losing formula. Could they be doing it again? Could they be going with Markarian over All Star Patrick? Stay tuned.
Why you ask that rotating QBs has never worked in 125 years of football, the QB position is the most important in all of sports, you simply can’t get in a smooth rhythm sitting and watching.
PAGMETER PREDICTION GOLDEN EAGLES 35 TIGERS 14
FINAL GOLDEN EAGLES 40 TIGERS 14
CENTRAL GRIZZLIES (2-1) at TURLOCK BULLDOGS (1-2)
PAGMETER LINE GRIZZLIES -14
The Grizzlies come off a tough loss to Memorial 23-21. Safety was the difference. David Bell scored on a 35-yard TD run, Michael James scored on a 1 yard TD run and Braylen Hall caught a 7 yard TD pass from Daton Tafoya.
The Bulldogs lost to Clovis West 48-0. Way too many turnovers and the Golden Eagles speed were too much for the Bulldogs.
The PAG factor, how do the Grizzlies handle the tough loss? The Grizzlies are not used to losing so everything is different with the week after.
For the Bulldogs, if they couldn’t handle the Golden Eagles speed, just wait until they play the Grizzlies speed. For the Bulldogs to stay in this game, they must pound the ball all night long.
PAGMETER PREDICTION GRIZZLIES 39 BULLDOGS 14
FINAL GRIZZLIES 54 BULLDOGS 41
DOS PALOS BRONCOS (0-3) at LIBERTY MADERA HAWKS (3-0)
PAGMETER LINE HAWKS -12
The young Broncos have lost 2 straight tough games. The Hawks have steam rolled a couple of teams that they were supposed to steam roll. The Italian stallion Vince Oberti has rushed for 245 yards and has scored 3 TDs. Caleb Sisco has scored 4 TDs.
The PAG factor is the Broncos defense going against the Hawks offense. The Broncos have played tremendous football for 3 ½ quarters in the first 2 games. Once the Broncos learn to finish, watch out!

FINAL BRONCOS 48 MINERS 0

The Bears beat Escalon 41-40 in overtime. What a game! Bears kicker Beau Bruseau nailed a field goal to force overtime at 34-34. Escalon scored first in OT and went for 2 but didn’t get it. The Bears win it on Augustus Remlinger TD and Bruseau’s extra point.
The PAG factor the Bears come in banged up. RB Michael Runnels is out with a dislocated shoulder and will be out for at least 4 weeks. Logan Studt also hurt his shoulder early in the Escalon game but will be good to go.
The Cougars run the pistol and it has to be on to have a chance. Bears QB Jayden Mandal has found a new favorite receiver with Colton O’Toole who caught 7 passes for 142 yards and a TD. There is always a chance that Jayden’s future Fresno State coach Jett Tedford could be on the sidelines Friday night so look for Jayden and Colton to hook up a bunch. With the speedy Runnels out, it could be by committee with Garrett Megnah, Kannon Campbell, and Augustus Remlinger.
PAGMETER PREDICTION BEARS 28 COUGARS 14

WASHINGTON UNION PANTHERS (2-1) vs TORRES TOROS (1-2)
PAGMETER Line PANTHERS -7
The Panthers lost in a shootout to Lemoore 56-35. The defense couldn’t slow down the Tigers in the Cat Bowl. Senior QB Marquese Glynn threw for 231 yards and a TD. It’s great to see that the Panthers made the call and went with Glynn at QB because I was afraid that the Panthers were going to rotate QBs and as you all know, rotating QBs have never worked in 125 years of football.
The Toros lost a tough one to 28-21. There is no QB rotation with Torres because they got junior 6’1, 175 lb QB Jose Soriano and he is good.
The PAG factor, this game comes down to the defensive side of the ball. Who can make the big stops?

The Bulldogs from Arizona haven’t played a game yet and Arizona gets it by starting football with their first football game in September. Hey California, look at what Arizona does!! CALIFORNIA STARTS FOOTBALL WAY TOO EARLY!
The PAG factor and there are a few. For starters the Bulldogs haven’t played a game and the Panthers have played 2 games. (THAT’s HUGE). The Panthers have already worked out the problems/kinks with playing games.
