COACHING NEWS
**BUNCHANAN BEARS Are looking for a new Head Coach.
Matt Giordano is stepping down as the Buchanan Bears Head Coach.
Matt graduated from Buchanan in 2001, helped win the only Championship in Buchanan history in 2000. Played 9 years in the NFL, won a Super Bowl ring with the Colts in 2007. Matt did a tremendous job at Buchanan in building the Bears into a state powerhouse contender. Overall the Bears went 51-16 with 2 TRAC championships including 5-0 in the spring.

**SELMA BEARS Are looking for a Head Coach.
Head Coach Matt Logue is now back at Sanger is stepping down. Matt led the Selma Bears to 2 section titles in his 7 years, most recently in 2019.
**CLOVIS COUGARS are looking for a Head Coach
RICH HAMMOND will not be back Coaching the Clovis Cougars. Rich Started in 2008 and did a tremendous job coaching the Cougars going 97-52. Cougars won the TRAC title in 2012 & 2015 and lost in the Central Section Championship game in 2015.

**WOODLAKE TIGERS Are looking for a new Head Coach
Jeff Johnson is stepping down. Jeff went 30-20 with 2 East Sequoia League titles (2018/2019) made the Division 5 semifinals in 2018 and the Division 6 semifinals in 2021.
**AVENAL BUCCANEERS are looking for a new Head Coach
JOSH WISNIOWSKI will not be back. The Avenal administration is just behind Yosemite with being the worst administration in the state. This team along with head coach Josh Wisniowski never had a chance to reach their full potential and coach Josh will not be back coaching. To all the Avenal football families….This team will never ever be successful with this administration in place. This administration will never support the football team so it doesn’t matter who coaches, the Buccaneers have ZERO chance to be successful.
NEW HEAD COACHES
SANGER APACHES new Head Coach is Matt Logue.
Matt is a former Sanger Apache DC and the perfect guy to take over.
Matt led the Selma Bears to 2 section titles in his 7 years, most recently in 2019.
GOLDEN WEST TRAILBLAZERS new Head Coach is Travis Anderson
This will be the first head coaching job for Travis who played high school football at Bullard, COS and Humboldt State. Travis was the DC at Mt Whitney and coached at Tulare Western in 2018.
ROOSEVELT ROUGH RIDERS new Head Coach is Dwayne Wright
Dwayne Wright was an assistant coach for Vince Branstetter who resigned as the head coach after 4 years going 14-6 in the NYL. Dwayne played at Fresno State, rushed for 2,683 yards, was a 4th round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills. Coached at West Hills, FCC before coming to Roosevelt. This will be the first head coaching job for Dwayne Wright.
KERMAN LIONS new Head Coach is DAMON JENKINS
This will be Damon’s first HC job. Was a standout DB at De La Salle/Fresno State. The KT Prep Central Valley founder has been a longtime coach at Clovis West & last year, DC at Justin Garza.
SUNNYSIDE WILDCATS, GORDON WOOD and THOMAS WILSON are CO-HEAD COACHES
El DIAMANTE MINERS new Head Coach is Devin Ramos. Devin was the DC for Coach Rogers and hasn’t coached since Rogers retired.
Chris Frankland never had a chance and was sabotaged from the beginning after Mark Rogers retired. 3 ADs in 3 years. RED FLAG! Chris is a fantastic coach and will be coaching somewhere and at a much better school with support.
SANGER WEST HORNETS Rob Thompson is running the show
Sanger Apaches assistant Coach Rob Thompson is a PE teacher at Sanger West HS and is holding informational meetings for students who are interested in playing football. Coach Thompson is the leader in the clubhouse for the Hornets new Coach.
CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES new Head Coach is Brandon Nagle in a surprise move
Brandon was an assistant coach at Clovis East and before CE, Brandon was the head coach for 3 years at Reedley before Tony Gates took over and in 3 years the Pirates went 5-25. The T Wolves are hoping that Brandon learned a lot since those days in Reedley.

No 1 LIBERTY PATRIOTS (11-3) (CENTRAL SECTION CHAMPIONS)
The Patriots will be the team to beat in 2022. One of the best players in the state is Jason Oliver. Senior QB Carson Woods has thrown for 1,992-yards and 20 TDs heading into the state playoffs.
No 2 BUCHANAN BEARS (10-2)
Matt Giordano is stepping down as the Buchanan Bears Head Coach.

Caden Rodgers is the TRAC Offensive Player of the Year. Gavin Nelson is the TRAC Lineman of the year. Jerry Rangel is the TRAC Defensive Player of the year. A star is born with sophomore Logan Studt who will come into 2022 as one of the best players in the Central Section.
No 3 CENTRAL GRIZZLIES (9-2)
The Grizzlies ran into a hot Patriots team. Junior QB Dayton Tafoya threw for 2,069-yards and 23 TD passes. One of the best LB in the Central Section is senior Marcus Ramirez.
No 4 MEMORIAL PANTHERS (9-1)
Panthers have the entire O-line returning and one of the best players in the Central Section with RB/LB Brandon Ramirez who rushed for 1,113-yards, scored 14 TDs, and made 101 tackles. The leader in the club house for being the new QB will be 6’3 senior Carson Dean.
No 5 BULLARD KNIGHTS (9-6) (DIVISION 2 SECTION CHAMPIONS)
The Knights wanted to play in the Division 1 playoff but got denied so they took care of business and won the division 2 Section Championship. Senior QB Roland Russo broke the school record for the single season passing with 3,183-yards.
No 6 CLOVIS COUGARS (7-4)
Head Coach Rich Hammond will not be back after 13 years coaching the Cougars. Rich went 97-52 and won 2 TRAC titles. Tristian Risley (TRAC Player of Year) will go down as the best Cougar of all-time rushing for 4,028-yards and scored 56 TDs.
No 7 GARCES RAMS (6-4)
One of the best defensive players in the Central Section is senior LB Logan Bower who made 100 tackles and 9 sacks.
No 8 BAKERSFIELD DRILLERS (6-6)
The Drillers will be very good in 2022. Tybo Rogers will come into 2022 as the Top RB/DB in the Central Section and will be one of the most recruited players in the Central Section. Junior QB Tye Monteiro will be wrestling at Stanford. So Cool!
No 9 HANFORD BULLPUPS (7-2)
Watch out for the Bullpups in 2022 and leading the way will be junior QB Cayden Muir who threw for 2,070 yards and 22 TD’s.
No 10 KINGSBURG VIKINGS (10-3)
Junior RB/LB Trace Jackson is ready for a big senior year.
No 11 MISSION OAK HAWKS (10-1)
The EYL Champions/Tulare City Champions will be very good again in 2022. Senior QB Rudy Navarro is the real deal, playing in 6 games and throwing for 1,928 yards and 18 TD passes.
No 12 MISSION PREP ROYALS (10-1)
Head Coach David Schuster and his staff are doing a tremendous job at building Royals football into a powerhouse. The Royals will be moving into the Mountain league in 2022. Senior Jack Susank finished the year rushing for 1,253 yards and scored 12 TDs.
No 13 ST JOSEPH KNIGHTS (5-5)
Junior Darian Mensah will come into 2022 as one the top QBs in the state. Keep an eye on the Knights.
No 14 FRONTIER TITANS (6-3)
Senior QB Vincent Igoa was the leader that the Titans needed.
No 15 WASCO TIGERS (10-1)
If the Tigers would have played in Division 3 where they belong, the Tigers would have contended for the Championship. This was one of best defensive Tiger teams in school history.
No 16 CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS (12-5) (DIVISION 3 SECTION CHAMPIONS)
Leading the Cavaliers are juniors QB Max Bakker and Jaeden Moore. Jaeden is being recruited by so many including Cal, Arizona, and Colorado. Plenty more offers coming for 6’3 Jaeden. Max will be one of the Top QBs in the Central Section in 2022.
No 17 BAKERSFIELD CHRISTIAN EAGLES (10-4)
The Eagles are still thinking about the horrible call in the championship game! Some college will be getting one the best in the Central Section with senior QB Braden Waterman. Look for brother Bryson Waterman to be the Eagles QB in 2022.
No 18 CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS (5-6)
The Broncos have plenty returning in 2022. One of the best in the Central Section is senior 6’3 225lb RB/DE Paul Sharp.
No 19 CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES (4-8)
Head Coach Eric Brown and his staff are building the Golden Eagles back up. Plenty return and leading the way will be with be sophomores QB Tyler Patrick, WR/DB Marshel Sanders, and WR/FS Jordan Pierro. ERIC BROWN WILL BE THE CITY COACH IN THE 68TH ANNUAL CITY-COUNTY ALL STAR FOOTBALL GAME ON JUNE 17 at MCLANE STADUIM
No 20 LEMOORE TIGERS (8-3)
Junior QB Ty Chambers will return for his senior year after throwing for 1,272 yards and 19 TD passes.
No 21 CENTENNIAL GOLDEN HAWKS (6-4)
Watch out for Centennial in 2022. Senior QB Levi Manning played in 9 games and threw for 2,014 yards and 19 TD passes.
No 22 DINUBA EMPERORS (8-5)
This was the best offensive team in school history averaging over 40 points per game. Casimiro Barragan threw for 2,434-yards and 29 TDs.
No 23 WASHINGTON UNION PANTHERS (7-4)
Senior Keanu Kuma had a fantastic Panthers career at linebacker.
No 24 STRATHMORE SPARTANS (11-1)
The Spartans got penalized for being good in the playoffs. Senior RB/FS Carlos Moreno was the team leader.
No 25 SANGER APACHES (5-6)
The new Head Coach is Matt Logue who was the Apaches DC for 8 years before becoming the head coach at Selma.
No 26 DOS PALOS BRONCOS (10-1)
The Broncos should have played in the Division 4 playoffs
No 27 FIREBAUGH EAGLES (9-3)
The Eagles had a big senior class. Senior RB Danny Olivera (WSL Offensive Player of the Year) finished the year as the Central Section leading rusher with 2,144-yards and the Central Section leader with touchdowns scored with 37. Senior QB Austin Garcia threw for 2,048 yards and 25 TD passes. Senior Jose Davila is the WSL Co-Defensive Player of the Year. MASON RODMAN WILL BE THE COUNTY COACH IN THE 68TH ANNUAL CITY-COUNTY ALL STAR FOOTBALL GAME ON JUNE 17 at MCLANE STADUIM
No 28 INDEPENDENCE FALCONS (9-7) (DIVISION 4 SECTION CHAMPIONS)
Leading the Division 4 Section Champions are seniors RB Evan Peaker and QB LaDon Denmark.
No 29 MENDOTA AZTECS (8-4)
The Most overachieving team in the Central Section was the Aztecs. Senior RB/FS Jacob Silva had a tremendous Aztecs career.
No 30 PASO ROBLES BEARCATS (7-5)
The Bearcats were a very physical team. Leading the Bearcats is junior RB Leo Kemp who rushed for 1,141-yards.
No 31 SUNNYSIDE WILDCATS (8-2)
If the Wildcats can stay together, watch out for 2022. Freshmen QB Tanner Wilson threw for 3,260 and 31 TD passes. The receivers were outstanding with seniors Deashaun Bias, Jujuan King, and freshman CJ Jones.
No 32 REEDLEY PIRATES (8-2)
Senior RB Ryan Warkentin rushed for 2,026-yards and scored 25 TDs. Ryan will go down as the best in school history.
No 33 CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES (4-5)
New head coach is Brandon Nagle. Leading the T Wolves for the next 3 years will be freshman QB Ty Miller.
No 34 TULARE UNION TRIBE (5-5)
Plenty of Tribe return for 2022
No 35 TULARE WESTERN MUSTANGS (6-5)
Junior QB Carmine Ficher comes back after throwing for 2,368 yards and 21 TD passes
No 36 ARROYO GRANDE EAGLES (8-4)
Senior QB Max Perrett finished the year throwing for 2,188 yards and 18 TD passes
No 37 KENNEDY THUNDERBIRDS (8-3)
Senior RB Avian Pesina rushed for 1,597 yards and scored 23 TD’s.
No 38 HIGHLAND SCOTS (9-4)
Keep an eye on the Scots in 2022 because they will be very good and leading the way is junior Jojo Mata Jr who threw for 1,176-yards and rushed for 1,062-yards.
No 39 NIPOMO TITANS (7-4)
Leading the Titans was senior QB Nate Reese
No 40 RIGHETTI HIGH WARRIORS (6-9) (DIVISION 5 SECTION CHAMPIONS)
The Warriors are a completely different team now then in week 1. Leading the Warriors are seniors RB/LB Ryan Boivin, QB Abel McCormack and WR/DB Elias Martinez.
BUBBLE TEAMS
LIBERTY MADERA RANCHOS HAWKS (7-6)
The Hawks will be very good in 2022. Senior RB/FS Dominic Castaneda had a good year rushing for 1,402-yardsand scored 18 TDs.
BISHOP UNION BRONCOS (8-2)
The Broncos senior class was very good and leading the was QB Jakob Redmond who threw for 1,711-yards and 25 TD passes. Senior Zach Mojarro rushed for 1,240-yards and scored 20 TDs.
MORRO BAY PIRATES (8-7) (DIVISION 6 SECTION CHAMPION)
Leading the Pirates is junior QB Nicky Johnson.
It’s the Reedley Pirates, not Tigers, that’s across the street. Lol! And Reedley handily beat Mendota for two quarters until a lightening delay. (27-7) We should be ranked above them!
