FOOTBALL NEWS

**Clovis East T Wolves head coach Ryan Reynolds has resigned.

Ryan did a TREMENDOUS job building the program back up from a program that lost 35 straight TRAC games. Ryan has coached for 21 years, became the T Wolves HC in 2017 and was so good at game planning! Ryan, started at CE as the defensive coordinator. Won 2 Central Section Championships with Tim Murphy in 2003 & 2006. Coached at Clayton Valley with Murphy and won a state championship with the Ugly Eagles.

**Head Coach Josh Wisniowski will not be back coaching with the Avenal Buccaneers.

Note-to families at Avenal, get out and transfer ASAP. It will never get better with the Avenal administration.

To the Coaches that are thinking about applying for the Avenal job, I would think long and hard. The Avenal administration is almost as bad as the Yosemite administration as the worst administration in the central section. Avenal doesn’t support their football program and there is a zero chance of Buccaneers football will ever be successful until there is a new Avenal administration.

**Speaking of the Yosemite Administration, you had one job!

The last game of the year in week 11, the BIG Mountain Bowl game, Yosemite vs Sierra and it’s a GREAT tradition. Both teams play for the Mountain Bowl trophy and the Yosemite AD/administration forgot to bring the trophy so the kids can celebrate taking photos with the trophy. This is a perfect example of how the administration doesn’t give a hoot about sports.

In week 12 (Quarterfinals) the PAGMETER went 28-10 (Not a good week for PAGMETER predictions)

for the year 434-80 (84%)

DIVISION 1

SEMIFINALS FRIDAY 7PM
No 4 LIBERTY PATRIOTS at No 1 BUCHANAN BEARS
No 3 CENTRAL GRIZZLIES at No 2 MEMORIAL PANTHERS

CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS (5-6) at BUCHANAN BEARS (10-1)
This is a rematch from week 10 when the Bears beat the Broncos 33-14.
The X factor Bears QB Jayden Mandal did not play in the game on Oct 22 because of a sprained ankle. Junior Colton O’Toole played in his first ever game at QB and played like a season veteran. It is amazing that the Bears have one of the best QBs in the central section just sitting in the Bullpen with O/Toole. The Broncos had plenty of tremendous QBs, but the Broncos decided to rotate QBs and good QBs apparently don’t like to rotate so the Broncos QBs left for Buchanan, Bullard, Utah and 2 more quit the team. Note to teams, pick a QB and run with it.
As for Friday night, Jayden Mandal’s ankle is a game time decision if he’s a go, and if not, the Bears have O’Toole ready to roll. The Broncos will not hide it, they will be running the football right at the Bears and play good defense because they simply can’t throw the ball and everybody in the stadium will know that. It’s always hard to beat a team twice in the same year but if you can’t throw the ball, it’s hard to change an offense, you either run left, right, or middle. The Broncos will have to play out of their minds, hope for some Bear turnovers to pull the shocker with one of the best O-lines in the section along with 4 speedy backs with Paul Sharp, McKay Madsen, Vincent Cordova and Jake Parnigian. The Bears are at least a 2 TD favorite to advance to the semifinals.
PAGMETER PREDICTION Buchanan 28 Clovis North 14

FINAL BUCHANAN 35 CLOVIS NORTH 3

HANFORD BULLPUPS (7-2) at CENTRAL GRIZZLIES (8-1)
The new playoff format has an overachieving division 2 team playing against one of the best teams in the central section. It’s a shame for the Bullpup seniors that they won’t be able to put up a division 2 section championship banner. The Bullpups are playing with house money because they are not expected to win.
Bullpups will lead with outstanding junior QB Cayden Muir who has thrown for 2,070-yards and 22 TD passes. The WYL offensive player of the year will throw it all over the yard and leading the way are seniors Noah Noyola (32 receptions, for 514-yards, 6 TDs and WYL defensive player of the year) Alex Villegas (28 receptions, for 374-yards & 4 TDs) and junior Jayden Sudds (27 receptions for 458-yards & 4TDs)
Grizzlies will lead with junior QB Dayton Tafoya, running backs Jesiah Lindsay, Ah’ Marion Gaines-Smith and WR LaDanian Streets.
The X factor the Bullpups will bring in a roster of 30 players and that means most will be playing both ways. The Bullpups are not a running team so can the Grizzlies force the Bullpups to run the football? The Grizzlies are the worst starting team in division 1 and that means the Bullpups must jump out fast. The Grizzlies always seem to be down 14-0 before they start playing good Grizzlies football. The Grizzlies are also one of the best teams playing at home and in front of the best home crowd in the central section. Can a team with a small roster beat a big team with a big roster? The Bullpups will need some big plays because the Grizzlies will be bringing plenty of pressure on Muir.
PAGMETER PREDICTION Central 30 Hanford 21

FINAL CENTRAL 62 HANFORD 12

CLOVIS COUGARS (7-4) at LIBERTY PATRIOTS (8-2)
Wow, what a matchup! It’s the outstanding Cougars offense vs the outstanding Patriots defense.
The X factor the Cougars will lead with the best running back in the central section/school history, with Tristan Risley who comes off rushing for a school record 440-yards and scored 6 TDs.
For the Cougars the win at Liberty, QB Nate Johnson has to have a big game. Can the Patriots slow down both Risley and Johnson?
Cougars best defensive player and one of the best in the central section is linebacker Christian Smith, who will not play because of a car accident and will be back next week if the Cougars make the semifinals. Christian was hit by a drunk driver who pulled out in front of Christian causing him to roll his jeep. Thank You God, it’s only a swollen knee.
Leading the Patriots will be junior QB Carson Woods who has thrown for 1, 366-yards and 15 TD passes. Carson is a leader and a very accurate QB. Junior RB Jalen Hankins is outstanding running behind a very physical offensive line. Carson’s favorite receiver is Jason Oliver.
The big question and everybody would love to know, are the Cougars playing together as a team once again? This is the Cougars dream team because they have so much talent and the Cougars were the favorites at the beginning of the year to win it all, but team issues caught up with the Cougars.
Patriots are not a fancy team, they get after it with playing great defense and a physical offense. With the talent the Cougars have, they should be a 14-point favorite especially when you have a division 1 college QB but they aren’t. This is a great matchup and a tough pick. This has the makings to be a great game!
PAGMETER PREDICTION Liberty 38 Clovis 34

FINAL LIBERTY 45 CLOVIS 35

GARCES RAMS (6-4) at MEMORIAL PANTHERS (9-0)
This is Holy Bowl No 2. The Panthers beat the Rams 34-10 in Holy Bowl No 1. QB Mikey Bell threw 2 TD passes. SJM Leads the Holy Bowl series 31-21-3.
Heading into Holy Bowl No 2, the Rams are playing their best football. In Holy Bowl No1 the Rams were banged up and simply got run over.
The X factor and it’s always the big question, what does a team do differently in the rematch after getting beat up in the first meeting? For the Panthers, everybody knows they will lead with the top player in the section with RB/LB Brandon Ramirez along with a big physical offensive line. The Panthers also will feature the best WR/DB in the section with TJ Hall. QB Mikey Bell does a great job running the offense & doesn’t have to be fancy and if Bell has a great game with his play-action passing with getting the ball to Hall, then game over.
Rams will lead with QB Travis Plugge, RB/WR Isaac Jernagin, RB/LB Logan Bowers and RB/LB Zamir Hall. Can the Panthers contain Plugge who loves to run? Rams are a big play team and not really a passing team. The Rams will need to force turnovers and work the clock. Can the smaller Rams slow down Ramirez and the power running attack of the Panthers?
The big and fast team always has the advantage over the small and fast team.

DIVISION 2

SEMIFINALS FRIDAY 7PM
No 4 KINGSBURG VIKINGS vs No 1 BULLARD KNIGHTS at McLane Stadium
No 6 FRONTIER TITANS at No 2 BAKERSFIELD DRILLERS

MISSION PREP ROYALS (10-1) at BAKERSFIELD DRILLERS (5-5)
The undefeated Royals will take on the New York Yankees of our central section. The Drillers have so much history and have won more than any team in the state. To the Royal fans, it’s awesome to see the Drillers team come out of the ground from the famous locker room and maybe there will be the fog/smoke as well. Very cool.
Royals come in beating Lemoore 21-12. Jack Susank rushed for 153-yards, scored all 3 TDs, and picked off 2 passes on defense. Drew Harrigan rushed for 117-yards.
Drillers beat Tulare Western 48-13. QB Ty Monteiro threw for 247-yards with 4 TD passes and ran for a TD. Tybo Rogers rushed for 65 yards, scored on a rushing TD & scored on a 70-yard TD reception. Daylon Leach caught 6 passes for 84 yards and picked off a pass. Jayden Dock had 6 tackles and 3 sacks.
The X factor can the Royals slow down the speedy Drillers? The Drillers are a very streaky team that will score points in a hurry. The Drillers will also make plenty of mistakes with dumb penalties and turnovers. Don’t go by the record because if the schedules were switched, the Drillers would be 10-0. The Drillers have played the toughest schedule in the central section and are battle tested because of it.
Royals are hard nose physical, and smart team that will need to have a big day on both sides of the ball. The Royals are young with senior leadership and leading the way is senior RB/DB Jack Susank who has rushed for 1,213-yards and has scored 12 TDs. The QB is junior Colby White who has thrown for 1,268-yards and 17 TD passes.
Drillers will lead with RB Rogers, QB Monteiro and on defense, LB Alex Rocha. Since Rashaan Shehee has taken over the Drillers, they now have more giddy-up and playing with passion that was missed.
This will be the best team that the Royals will have played so far this year. If Susank can have a big night, and the Royals can force some turnovers then we got a ball game. The Drillers are a big play team, and the Royals can’t afford to give up the long TD. Griffith Field will be rocking with a great game!

CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES (4-8) vs BULLARD KNIGHTS (7-4)
The Lightning Bowl Game

In week 4, on a wild Thursday night, there was lightning that delayed the game at halftime for 30 plus minutes and the 2nd half changed everything including the playoffs. While other games in the valley were canceled because of the lightning, the Knights and Golden Eagles said we are finishing, and I love that. The Knights had the lead 14-0 and the Golden Eagles scored just before the delay/halftime. After the delay, the Golden Eagles played outstanding football and beat the Knights 35-28. With the Knights losing to Clovis West, the new silly playoffs changed because of it with Bullard moving into division 2.
The X factor the Golden Eagles come off playing their best game of the year since lightning night beating Clovis East 28-14. QB Tyler Patrick had a nice game directing the offense throwing for 184-yards and a TD pass. A star is born with WR Marshel Sanders who has speed and can catch anything. CW defense also stepped up and played a tremendous game. The Golden Eagles now have confidence and a chance to win with knowing who their QB will be on every snap. Tyler Patrick is a gamer with throwing 14 TD passes against the top defenses in the Central Section and that’s playing only half the time.
Bullard beat the St Joseph Knights 29-28 in a great game. Bullard came up with plenty of clutch plays. For starters, 4th, and goal from the 16, the Knights go for it and QB Roland Russo hit Daizon Allen on a 16-yard TD pass and great catch. Bullard held St Joes on 1st and goal from the 1-yard line and on 4th down, Bullard Knights Brian Garcia blocked the St Joes field goal. With less than a minute to go, the Knights scored with Russo hitting Herman Zamora on a 7-yard TD pass making the score 28-27 St Joes, Bullard went for the win with Russo’s game winning QB sneak. Bullard had to play a tremendous game to win because St Joseph is a very good and just as good as any team in the central section. Bullard got the No 1 seed and for their reward, they had to play the best team in division 2 to start the tournament. For the year Russo is 164-223 for 2,321 yards and 21 TD passes. Jalyn Utendahl has caught 53 passes for 706 yards and 3 TDs. Jayden Davis has caught 25 passes for 582 yards and has scored 9 TDs. RB Herman Zamora does it all and has scored on 9 rushing TDs.
This will be another battle just like lightning night and whichever defense plays better, that team will be playing in the semifinals. Any time Bullard takes on Clovis West, expect a great game!
PAGMETER PREDICTION Bullard 35 Clovis West 31

FINAL BULLARD 70 CLOVIS WEST 42

WASCO TIGERS (10-1) at FRONTIER TITANS (6-2)
Tigers come in with a great win over Centennial 28-21. Jacob Ruiz, Sean Sharp, and Alexis Girarte each scored on rushing TDs. Ramiro “Ram” Lopez ripped the ball away on defense and returned it 70 yards for a TD.
Titans beat Sanger 24-7. The defense played outstanding. QB Vincent Igoa went 15-16 passing for 192-yards and 2 TD passes. Daniel Overton rushed for 165 yards on 26 carries. Devin Cockren caught 6 passes for 88 yards and 2 TDs.
The X factor can the Tigers offense play keep away again and shorten the game with long drives? The Tigers need to win the battle on the line of scrimmage and can’t turn the ball over. The Titans haven’t played an offense like the Tigers and it’s not easy to practice against. Just ask Centennial. Can the Tigers defense slow down the speedy Titans offense? The Titans defensive front is very good. Does Tiger nation have enough energy like last Friday to go nuts in the stands and get their team fired up? We all loved the videos from the stands. The Tigers should be playing in division 3. It’s hard to play against big teams repeatedly and this is why the PAGMETER has Frontier the favorite.
This should be a very good game and it could come down to the final minutes.

MISSION OAK HAWKS (10-1) at KINGSBURG VIKINGS (10-2)
This has the makings to be a great game with a big crowd on Friday Night!
Hawks come in beating Redwood 28-24. QB Rudy Navarro went 19-29, for 338-yards, 3 TD’s and scored a TD. Anthony Ledesma caught 6 passes for 160-Yards and 1 TD. Kenny Jackson caught 5 passes for 66 Yards. Mike Iriye caught 5 passes for 71-yards & 1 TD. Kareem Davis caught 3 passes for 53-yards and scored a TD.
Vikings beat Dos Palos 64-13. This game was over at the coin flip. The Vikings defense is very good. Trace Jackson had a big night, rushed for 189 yards on 11 carries scored on 3 rushing TDs and caught a 19-yard TD pass. QB Max Warkentin threw for 155-yards and 3 TD passes. (Daniel Ortega 24-yards & Micah Spomer 53-yards). Max is getting better and better with every game he plays.
The X factor can the Vikings defense slow down the Hawks speedy receivers? This might be a shootout.

WASHINGTON UNION PANTHERS (7-3) at ARROYO GRANDE EAGLES (8-4)
Panthers come in beating Kennedy 28-21. QB Lawrence Stell hit Noah Taylor on a 20-yard TD pass and the game winner. Taylor finished with 5 catches for 120-yards and 3 TD’s.
Eagles beat Madera 49-21. QB Max Perrett went 10-12 for 155-yards, & 1 TD pass, rushed for 65-yards and scored on a 25-yard TD run. Makai Puga scored 2 TDs including a 104-yard pick 6. WOW!
The X factor is the Eagles defense going up against a speedy Panthers offense. The Panthers defense will need a big night and leading the way is the best linebacker in the Central Section Keanu Kuma.
PAGMETER PREDICTION Arroyo Grande 30 Washington Union 25

FINAL WASHINGTON UNION 52 ARROYO GRANDE 32

FIREBAUGH EAGLES (9-3) at CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS (8-4)
Eagles come in beating Sunnyside 42-22. The Eagles made a statement. The Defense was outstanding. Danny Olivera scored 6 TDs, rushed for 234-yards, and the central section leading rusher has now rushed for 2,071 yards and has scored 37 TDs. QB Austin Garcia went 10-14 for 224-yards and Edgar Cuevas caught 7 passes for 158-yards. The Offensive line dominated the Wildcats defensive line from the start with TE No 35 Norbi Mendoza, LT No 56 Jose Davila (also had 4 sacks, 6 tackles), LG No 52 Marcos Gallegos, Center No 75 Manuel Martinez, RG No 72 Diego Solis, & RT No 77 Ivan Meija.
Cavaliers beat cross the street rival El Diamante 31-6. The Cavaliers defense controlled the line of scrimmage and stuffed the Miners running attack. Caleb Callison scored on a 7-yard TD run. Max Bakker threw 2 TD passes (Zach Zwart, 14-yards, and Jaeden Moore 27-yards). Josh Sousa scored on a 33-yard TD run.
The X factor the Cavaliers stuffed the Miners running game and can they do it again? The Cavaliers defensive front is very good. The CVC game plan is to slow down Olivera. It’s almost hard to imagine that Exeter beat CVC in week 11 but it did happen. The Cavaliers looked like a completely different team in the win over El Diamante. Can the Eagles bring the physical running game to CVC? Can the Eagles slow down the big target TE Jaeden Moore? Eagles QB Austin Garcia needs a huge game because the Cavaliers will be focusing on Olivera.
PAGMETER PREDICTION CVC 27 Firebaugh 24

FINAL CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN 35 FIREBAUGH 20

PASO ROBLES BEARCATS (7-4) at DINUBA EMPERORS (8-4)
Bearcats beat Tulare Union 24-21. The Bearcats Double Wing T steam rolled in the first half 17-0. On 4th and long, Trevor Bridewell hit Bastiaan Jaureguy on a 34-yard TD pass which turns out it’s the game winner. Leo Kemp rushed for 82-yards and scored a TD. The Bearcats defense came up huge with a 4th down stop in the endzone with 6 seconds to go. Bridewell also hit Diego Chavez with a 37-yard TD pass.
Emperors beat Edison 51-27. Sebastian Olivera scored on a 12-yard run and threw a TD pass to EJ Sotelo. AJ Moriado scored on 3 rushing TDs. Dominic Nunez scored on a 5-yard TD run. QB Casimiro Barragan hit Mikey Olvera on an 18-yard TD pass.
The X factor is the Dinuba defense, and can they match up with the Bearcats double Wing T offense? Emperors have faced a double Wing T already and did a good job on defense. The Bearcats will need long drives to keep Barragan and the Emperors offense on the sidelines. Emperors offense is averaging 41 points per game and if there is a team that can slow that down, it is the Bearcats but the Bearcats have to be clicking to do it.
PAGMETER PREDICTION Dinuba 38 Paso Robles 28

FINAL DINUBA 28 PASO ROBLES 24

BAKERSFIELD CHRISTIAN EAGLES (9-3) at STRATHMORE SPARTANS (11-1)
Eagles beat Stockdale 50-6. Eagles’ defense is on fire right now! Senior Braden Waterman threw for 308-yards, with 2 TD passes and scored a TD. Nathan Perez scored on 3 rushing TDs including a 54-yard TD run. David Bonales and Nate Doubek each scored on TD runs. The Eagles finished with 476 yards of offense, holding Stockdale to 213 total yards.
Spartans beat Reedley 21-14. Jaylen Oats hit Cael Alkire on a 39-yard TD pass. Carlos Moreno scored on TD runs of 4 & 39 yards.
The X factor the Reedley game was very violent, very physical with HUGE HITS and the Spartans are really banged up heading into Friday night. All-star RB Carlos Moreno is out with a knee injury he suffered in the win over Reedley. The streak might end against the Hot Eagles. The Spartans stayed with the bigger schools like Reedley but it the long run, the Spartans really should be in division 4. The Spartans went undefeated in 1961, 1999, 2016 and 2017. Strathmore were State Champions in 2017, but with the new playoff format, there will be a zero chance for a small school like Strathmore to ever win a championship again. The overachievers will be penalized and moved up in divisions. On Friday, Spartan’s head coach Jeromy Blackwell will battle with the Eagles and his former Fresno State teammate David Carr, the offensive coordinator for older brother and head coach Darren Carr.

MONACHE MARAUDERS (5-5) at INDEPENDENCE FALCONS (6-6)
Marauders come in beating Exeter 25-8. The Marauders defense dominated for 48-minutes with the D-line of Aaron Hunt, Ashton Tilton and Marc Ceballos who didn’t allow any big plays on the edge and middle linebacker Josiah Perez stuffed everything in the middle. DB Josiah Espinoza had 4 interceptions. The Marauders offensive line also dominated. Monache led 18-0 at the half with TD runs by David Leyva and Tyler Ishida and 2 field goals by Tony Castillo. QB Bryan Hornsby hit Mark Cullwel on a TD pass.
Falcons beat Fowler 41-7. The Falcon’s defense is very physical. Evan Peaker rushed for 280 yards and scored 2 TDs. The Falcons have now won 5 straight games and won their first playoff game since 2013.
The X factor it’s the defensive front of the Marauders vs the running attack of the Falcons. This is where the game will be won or loss. The Falcons will pound it right at the Marauders.
PAGMETER PREDICTION Independence 25 Monache 23

FINAL INDEPENDENCE 42 MONACHE 20

MENDOTA AZTECS (7-3) at FOOTHILL TROJANS (9-2)
Aztecs come in beating Madera South 28-0. The Defense stuffed the Stallions Wing T all night long. Jacob Silva scored 3 TDs with runs of 3 & 6 yards and caught a 26-yard TD pass from Juan Ceja. Chris Mejia scored on a 6-yard TD run.
Trojans beat West 22-14. Kaelan Deloney rushed for 113-yards and Kevin Sandoval rushed for 107 yards, scored a TD and the Trojans forced 4 big turnovers.
The X factor it’s the Aztecs defense going up against another Wing T offense. Can the Aztecs slow down 235lb Deloney? The Aztecs are finally healthy and if they don’t turn the ball over and can force a couple of stops, Mendota can win on the road. This will be a hard-hitting game with both teams getting after it.

FINAL MENDOTA 42 FOOTHILL 21

HIGHLAND SCOTS (9-3) at NIPOMO TITANS (7-4)
Scots come in beating Porterville 15-6. The defense played outstanding. Andrew Turney had 4 sacks and Zephan Stevens had an interception, forced two fumbles. Gabe Sanchez had 2 interceptions. Angel Perez rushed for 122 yards and scored a TD on 22 carries, and Jojo Mata scored a TD.
Titans beat Mt Whitney 34-7. The Titans defense played their best game of the year. Gabe Evans had a game, rushed for 58-yards, and scored 2 TDs on runs of 2 & 5 yards, made 11 tackles, 2 sacks and had an interception. Nick Milton had 9 tackles and an interception. Leo Toledo with 8 tackles, and 4 sacks. QB Nate Reese scored 2 TDs in the first half but did not play in the 2nd half after returning the 2nd half kickoff and took a big hit and left the game with a shoulder injury. Vinny Hernandez scored on a 17-yard TD run. Gabe Evans stepped in at QB.
The X factor both teams love to run the football so this will be a battle of who will win the line of scrimmage. This should be a very physical game. the Titans were 6-0 and playing their best football but the political flu caught up with the Titans losing 3-straight. The Titans haven’t played since Oct 23. When you can’t practice, you don’t get better. The Titans are back playing good football, but will the Titans QB Nate Reese be back? Nate never comes off the field and the team leader. If Nate can’t play, that’s a big blow to the Titans. I’m thinking Nate is playing because he’s a gamer and will do everything he can to play but it could be Evans at QB. The Titans are not a throwing team so is all about the running game.
PAGMETER PREDICTION Nipomo 30 Highland 23

FINAL HIGHLAND 13 NIPOMO 12

TEHACHAPI WARRIORS (5-6) vs ROOSEVELT ROUGH RIDERS (6-4)
Warriors come in beating Bishop Union 28-14. Warriors trailed 14-10 with 4 minutes to go and that’s when Rashad McElroy returned an 85-yard kick off for a TD and the Warriors defense did the rest. Sam Orellana rushed for 127 yards and scored a TD on 18 carries. Orellana now has rushed for over 1,000 yards. QB Jacob Root threw a 27-yard TD pass to McElroy who also had 2 interceptions. Mike Jones also intercepted a pass and had 9 tackles. Wyatt Richie couldn’t be stopped on defense with 17 tackles and AJ Anderson with 12 tackles. The Warriors rushed for 285 yards.
The X factor the Rough Riders lead the Central Section with cancellation of games. During the year, the Riders had to find games because some teams played the political flu game, so Roosevelt put together games in the last minute with Strathmore and Sanger. Fresno High canceled the Pig game leaving the Riders without a week 11 game. Last week in the first round of the division 4 playoffs, Corcoran canceled because of the dumb-ass Corcoran principal panicked and canceled the game so the town of Corcoran is now in an uproar. If you are doing the math, the Rough Riders haven’t played a game since October 22 when they beat a struggling Hoover team 27-6.
This is the toughest pick of all because how in heck does anybody know what the Riders will bring to the game?

Elijah Lucero rushed 97 yards on 15 carries and recovered a fumble for a TD. Christopher Espinoza rushed for 83 yards and scored a TD, and Jesus Figeruoa caught 3 passes for 59 yards.
Bobcats beat Orosi 32-17. Senior Mykel McClendon rushed for 252-yards and scored 4 TDs.
The X factor the Generals are slowly getting healthy. If the Generals can somehow get by the Cats, super athlete Devon Sundgren will be back. Can the Generals slow down red-hot McClendon? The Bobcats are very good with a physical defense.

LIBERTY MADERA HAWKS (6-5) at IMMANUEL EAGLES (7-4)
Bird Bowl No 2

Hawks come in beating Chavez 27-0. The Hawks are playing their best football.
Eagles beat Kerman 16-12. The Eagles had a 16-0 lead and had to hang on. A win is a win especially in the playoffs.
The X factor this is a rematch from Bird Bowl No 1 in week 8 when the Eagles beat the Hawks 14-13. The Hawks missed an extra point, missed a short field goal, had a Hawks TD called back on a weak holding call, and a pick 6 so the game could have been different. The Eagles worked it out without playing in week 11 and got the No 1 seed so the Eagles are in the driver’s seat.
It’s the Hawks Wing T vs the Eagles veer attack. Both teams are not throwing teams so this is about who can play better up front. The Eagles defensive front has the advantage with big players upfront. It’s always tough to beat a team twice in the same year.

COALINGA HORNED TOADS (6-4) at RIGHETTI HIGH WARRIORS (3-8)
Toads come in beating McLane 29-21. QB Jett Garcia threw for 202 yards with 3 TD passes going to Devin Sanchez.
