The big X factor is both defenses. Can the Wildcats tackle Ryan Warkentin? Every team that plays the Pirates has 22 eyes on Warkentin on every play and he still goes off. Amazing! Pirates QB Jacob Rocha is back this week from injury and that is huge for the Pirates offense. Can the Pirates slow down the most exciting passing attack in the state?

The X factor the Grizzlies have Tafoya and the Grizzlies can run it and throw it. The Broncos can pound it with one of the best offensive lines in the central section but with a zero-passing game, the Broncos will want to shorten the game with long drives and keep the Grizzlies offense on the sidelines. NON-LEAGUE
PARLIER PANTHERS (0-9) at FARMERSVILLE AZTECS (4-5)

The X factor the Panthers will end their season after Friday night and let’s hope that the Parlier school district wants to invest in a football program. Until that happens, the Panthers will lose good coaches and players/families to other communities. What most of the horrible school districts don’t understand is families will simply leave the district for a better district. Families today now have a choice.
As for the Aztecs, they are building a program with a young team.

FINAL FARMERSVILLE 47 PARLIER 8

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS FINALS

CENTRAL SEQUOIA
CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS (6-4) (2-2) at EXETER MONARCHS (6-4) (3-2)

The Cavaliers would be dangerous if somehow, they can slide into the division 3 playoffs where they really belong. With this silly new playoff format the Caves are in division 2 and that is wrong.
The X factor for the Monarchs to win some games in the division 4 playoffs, they need the offense to step up. The Monarchs will be battle tested for sure playing a tough schedule.

KINGSBURG VIKINGS (8-2) (5-0 CSL CHAMPIONS) at SELMA BEARS (2-5) (1-3)
89TH FIRE HYDRANT GAME

Every year this is one of the great rivalries in the central section but not this year. It’s amazing that both towns are so close together and yet they think so differently especially when it comes to the political flu/common sense. Kingsburg is 100% common sense especially with the silly contact tracing. Selma is now in the top 5 worst school districts for not having common sense and in return has crushed the football program.
The X factor the Vikings will roll. The Bears will not enter the tournament.
PAGMETER PREDICTION Kingsburg 56 Selma 0

FINAL KINGSBURG 41 SELMA 0

CMAC
MADERA SOUTH STALLIONS (4-5) (0-4) at MADERA COYOTES (4-6) (2-3)
13th annual Battle for the Saw

This is the craziest game of the night especially when it comes to home cooking in the Battle of the Saw. This is a true Cinderella football story with Madera South being the ugly red-headed stepchild of the Madera School district. This is supposed to be a Madera South home game but because the Coyotes are the long-time darlings for the Madera school district, this game will be played at the old stadium on the campus of Madera.
You can’t make this stuff up.
That means Madera gets to use their locker room as usual and everything else that goes along with a home game. Why you ask? Madera says that Stallion’s stadium is not big enough. I say tough s*&t. They say the band will take up the entire stands and that’s bulls&^t. Put the band in the end zone like they do in Sanger and other stadiums. Bring in more bleachers if necessary. Every stadium is different and just because it doesn’t satisfy the school district and Madera, Madera South loses a home game. Madera South has a beautiful new stadium, and they can’t use it in their biggest game of the year where the student body/players want to show it off but instead they must use the old run down, with horrible lights Madera stadium for their home game. How embarrassing! Madera South stadium is plenty big enough and so much better.
This is a horrible decision by the Madera school district to let this happen and Madera South deserve better especially from their own school district. Shameful!
The X factor the Coyotes have QB Beau Green and that is huge. Madera South has plenty of injuries.
PAGMETER PREDICTION Madera 34 Madera South 27

PAGMETER PREDICTION Memorial 38 Sanger 14

STRATHMORE SPARTANS (10-0) 5-0 ESL CHAMPIONS) at LINDSAY CARDINALS (3-7) (3-3)
This is the 100th meeting. One of the great eastside rivalries.
The X factor the Spartans are the test dummies in this new playoff format and will have to play in division 3. The Cardinals are playing their best football, but this is a tough match up for the Red Birds.
PAGMETER PREDICTION Strathmore 48 Lindsay 13

FINAL STRATHMORE 42 LINDSAY 0

MONACHE MARAUDERS (4-6) (1-4) vs PORTERVILLE PANTHERS (4-6) (2-3)

Revolution Bowl

The X factor somebody is getting their first NYL win. The Patriots will be shutting it down after Friday and this is a good week for the Highlanders to get some offense going heading into the playoffs. The Patriots offense has potential but will again struggle until they figure out how to use the talent they have. In the world we live in, it’s amazing that the FUSD school Woke board hasn’t taken away the Revolution Bowl name yet to something like the Barney Bowl so we don’t bring up bad feelings from our past.

A win and the Tigers are SSL Champions. What is amazing, if the Generals can get healthy, they will be tough to beat in the division 5 playoffs which is where they belong. The Tigers are having a big year and could get a low division 2 seed or a high division 3 seed and playing against some big schools. CENTENNIAL GOLDEN HAWKS (6-3) (2-3) at FRONTIER TITANS (4-2) (1-1)

The Golden Hawks come in losing to Garces 37-0. It was simply ugly. The Titans got caught up in the KHSD political flu game and have been off a while. KHSD has ruined a tremendous year for the Titans football team because of the corruption of contact tracing.
The X factor the lack of practice time will hurt Frontier and could start slow but so far it has worked out by not playing the top 3 teams with Bakersfield, Garces and Liberty because Frontier might be 4-4 right now. The big difference in this game is the Titans defense is good. The G Hawks need to throw away the Garces game film.

CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES (4-4) (0-3) at BUCHANAN BEARS (9-1) (5-0 TRAC CHAMPIONS)

The T Wolves come in losing to Clovis 41-14 and the Bears beat Clovis North 42-28. The Bears didn’t have their QB Jayden Mandal who sprained his ankle at practice last week, so the Bears went to the bullpen with junior Colton O’Toole and let me tell you about this kid. Colton played like a 3-year starter. He can run, has touch on his passes along with a tremendous strong arm. When Clovis North can’t keep a QB on campus, the Bears might have the 2nd best QB in the Central Section with Colton O’Toole. It’s hard to get any information from Buchanan with a roster or stats but I can tell you that O’Toole would be an All Star on any other team in the Central Section.
The X factor the T Wolves are a small team and they will struggle against the machine of the Buchanan Bears.

CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES (3-7) (0-4) at CLOVIS COUGARS (7-3) (3-2)
Range Rider Trophy Final. Clovis West now leads the series 27-21 that started in 1980

The Golden Eagles come in losing to Central 35-14 and the Cougars beat Clovis North 33-14.
The X factor this was the original match up of the elite Clovis schools back in the day. The commitment to excellence started with Clovis vs Clovis West and boy these games were epic!
This year the Golden Eagles never were the same after the Lightning game vs Bullard. The Golden Eagles are still rotating QBs, and the horrible locker room crime didn’t help. When you rotate QBs, it’s telling your team we are playing for the future and that’s what you are seeing on the field. For the Cougars this is the dream team and loaded to win it all. Can they? Stay tuned. Can the Golden Eagles slow down Tristan Risley and the high-powered Cougars offense?

WEST SIERRA
DOS PALOS BRONCOS (10-0 (5-0 WSL CHAMPIONS) at AVENAL BUCCANEERS (1-4) (0-1)

The Broncos are the West Sierra league Champions for the 51st time in school history and that adds to their state record for most league wins. Avenal comes off a fun scrimmage vs Tranquility because Tranquility forgot to reserve the game referees. You can blame the Avenal school district for Avenal only playing 4 games.
The X factor the Broncos have been dealing with a team issue that they are trying put behind them, but the town hasn’t. Stay tuned for more news to come. The Broncos right now are in division 2 in the new silly playoff format, but the Broncos play a division 4/5/6 schedule. It makes zero sense and not fair to Dos Palos. It would be nice to see the Broncos play in division 3 and with teams like Wasco and Strathmore.

COALINGA HORNED TOADS (5-3) (1-3) at FIREBAUGH EAGLES (8-2) (3-1)
The X factor and this is crazy but if the Toads lose, they could be looking at division 5 in the new silly playoff format. Right now, the Toads are a low division 4 seed, and they have no chance in division 4 and would do well in division 5. Speaking of the silly playoff format, the Eagles are in division 3 playing a division 4/5/6 schedule and that is so wrong. The Eagles need to be in division 4 with teams their own size.

TRANQUILITY TIGERS (0-8) (0-4) at MENDOTA AZTECS (5-3) (2-2)
The X factor the Tigers season will end after this game and the Aztecs are in the middle of the division 4 playoff picture. Mendota has been banged up all year long and if somehow, they can get healthy enough, the Aztecs will be tough to beat in the division 4 playoffs.

WEST YOSEMITE
LEMOORE TIGERS (8-2) (4-1) at HANFORD BULLPUPS (7-1) (3-1 WYL CHAMPIONS)
78th annual Milk Can game

This is for the WYL Championship. If the Tigers win, they are the Champions. If the Bullpups win then there will be a 3-way tie with Redwood.
The X factor both teams have outstanding junior QBs with Tigers Ty Chambers vs Bullpups Cayden Muir.
The Redwood Rangers put the game plan together of how to possibly slowdown the Bullpups outstanding offense and that is they played coverage defense and dared the Bullpups to run the ball. Football is a copy-cat sport but perfecting the copy-cat idea is never easy especially when the other team adjusts.
This should be a great game! As for the new silly playoff format, the Bullpups win or lose should be in division 2. The strength of schedule is not good and it’s simply wrong for the Bullpups to be in division 1.

REDWOOD RANGERS (4-5) (3-2) at MT WHITNEY PIONEERS (2-6) (1-2)
66th annual Cowhide Game

The X factor the Rangers are playing their best football at the perfect time of the year and watch out for the Rangers because they now can beat anybody. The Pioneers season derailed thanks to the VUSD and the contact tracing joke. Will MW enter the tournament after this game? The Pioneers should enter the playoff/tournament because they never had a real chance to play their best football especially when you play in the 2nd worst school district in the central section.

NON-LEAGUE
YOSEMITE BADGERS (2-4) at SIERRA CHIEFTAINS (6-3)
The Mountain Bowl

One of the great rivalries especially when each school has their own mountain.
The X factor we all know the story by now that the Yosemite administration which is lead by Superintendent-Glen Billington, Principal Stephanie Ozowaki, and VP/AD John Beck are the worst administration in the USA for kids and sports. The Yosemite administration is trying to salvage the season after crushing the team’s heart and passion for not playing games or even practicing most of the year.
For the Chieftains, they got it going on in 8-man football and this game is 11-man football so head coach Mark Stelling and his staff must coach up 11-man football for this week which is not easy.
It’s amazing how one mountain district enjoys being in the kid business and the other mountain district is a complete disaster.
This should be a very good game with both teams getting after it. This will be the last game of the year for the Badgers and my advice to all the football families, get out while you can, transfer to another school because nobody should have to put up with an evil school district because it will never get better until -Glen Billington, Stephanie Ozowaki, and John Beck are long gone!
Leading the way for the Chieftains is Logan Kilbert who caught 9 balls from QB Aaron Irvine for 276-yards and 4 TD’s.
