A PAGMETER Reminder
10 +YEARS AGO, WE USED TO HAVE A WEEK 0 BECAUSE A FEW TEAMS PLAYED TEAMS FROM OUT OF THE AREA OR OUT OF THE STATE. THOSE WERE ALWAYS SPECIAL GAMES. THOSE DAYS ARE LONG GONE BECAUSE 99% OF TEAMS NOW PLAY IN THE FIRST WEEK SO WEEK 0 IS DEAD! LAST WEEK WAS WEEK 1.
THIS IS WEEK 2
THANK YOU TO THE SCHOOLS THAT HAVE COMMON SENSE AND PUSHING THROUGH WITH PLAYING GAMES.
IT LOOKS LIKE HIGH DISTRICT WILL BE REMOVING THE CONTACT TRACING AND THAT WILL BE THE FIRST STEP TO GETTING BACK TO COMMON SENSE AND OUT OF LIVING IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE FOR OUR KIDS!

ARROYO GRANDE EAGLES (0-2) at CENTENNIAL GOLDEN HAWKS (2-0)
The Eagles lost to Frontier Titans 53-12 on Friday and had 6 healthy players out including All Star RB Makai Puga from the silly testing that schools must play. The contact tracing is a joke, and most schools are finally figuring that out.
The G Hawks beat Redwood 35-21. QB Levi Manning didn’t practice all of camp because of a broken index finger and got released the day before the game and scored on a 2-yard TD run and threw 3 TD passes.
The X factor the Eagles and RB Makai Puga must move the chains…Will the ugly heat be a factor?

FINAL CENTENNIAL GOLDEN HAWKS 47 ARROYO GRANDE EAGLES 21
MT WHITNEY PIONEERS (0-1) at CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS (2-0)

Max Bakker threw 2 TD passes (Zach Zwart and Jaeden MOORE), Josh Sousa scored on a 2-yard TD run and Zach Zwart threw a TD pass to a wide-open Josh Noeske.

FINAL DELANO TIGERS 47 ROSAMOND ROADRUNNERS 0
DINUBA EMPERORS (1-1) vs TULARE WESTERN MUSTANGS (0-1)
The Emperors played a tremendous game in the tough loss to Clovis East 33-30. TW got caught up in the Visalia Unified School District trap of not playing. The Mustangs wanted the PAGMETER to know that last weeks game was canceled because of bad air and ash in the air.
In other news, Central Valley Christian played Bakersfield Christian in Visalia on the same night. SMH
The X factor can the Emperors bring it again this week like they did at Lamonica, They will win. This should be a good one and a tough one to pick. Get ready Mustangs fans for the Carmine Ficher show at QB. The Mustangs will be way different this year with a spread hurry-up offense instead of the Wing T. New head coach Derek Rosa has plenty of speed.
PAGMETER Prediction Tulare Western 29 Dinuba 27

PAGMETER Prediction Firebaugh 35 Fowler 6
FINAL FIREBAUGH EAGLES 35 FOWLER REDCATS 0

GOLDEN WEST TRAILBLAZERS (0-1) at TEHACHAPI WARRIORS (1-1)

FINAL BISHOP UNION BRONCOS 63 FARMERSILLE AZTECS 0
CARUTHERS BLUE RAIDERS (0-2) at LIBERTY MADERA HAWKS (1-1)
Both teams didn’t play their best football in week 1 and both teams are young.
The X factor is which offense can get it going and finish drives with points.
PAGMETER Prediction Liberty Madera 27 Caruthers 23
FINAL LIBERTY MADERA 30 CARUTHERS BLUE RAIDERS 6

PAGMETER Prediction McFarland 23 Tranquility 8
FINAL MCFARLAND COUGARS 18 TRANQUILITY TIGERS 8
IMMANUEL EAGLES (0-1) at MENDOTA AZTECS (2-0)
This is the toughest pick of the night.
The Eagles will have plenty of new Eagles flying into the new nests and some transfers are not ready yet. The Eagles had to cancel their game last week with Roosevelt because not enough players to take the field. The Aztecs last week crushed Minarets 58-18. Aztecs scoring, rushing TDs from: Jacob Silva, Juan Sandoval. Richard Ceja Jr. (2). Chris Mejia, Jesus Trejo, Receiving TDs, Devon Murphy, Richard Ceja, Jesus Treo with a 45-yards interception return for a TD. Passing, In a quarter of play, Juan Ceja 6-9 for 127 yards and 2 TD’s.

The Titans come in beating Granite Hills 13-6 and the Spartans beat up Roosevelt 17-6
The X factor will the Titans be ready for a physical Spartans football game?
PAGMETER Prediction Strathmore 43 Orange Cove 13
FINAL STRATHMORE SPARTANS 48 ORANGE COVE TITANS 0
OROSI CARDINALS (1-0) at MCLANE HIGHLANDERS (1-0)
Here is one of the best match ups of week 2. The young Cardinals vs the new and improved Highlanders. Coach Ben White has built a tremendous program in Orosi and new Mclane Head Coach Andrew Pancotti is on his way with doing the same thing with the Highlanders.
Both teams come off big wins. The X factor is the Cardinals defense. Both offenses can move the football. This should be a good game!
PAGMETER Prediction McLane 33 Orosi 30
7 minutes to go MCLANE 21 OROSI 18 ( SOME SOFT ADMINISTATOR PUT THE GAME ON HOLD FOR 30 MINUTES AND THEN POSTPONED THE GAME. YOU MAKE THIS CRAP UP)
INDEPENDENCE FALCONS (0-1) at PASO ROBLES BEARCATS (1-1)
Both teams lost in week 1. The Falcons lost to the South Rebels 22-12. The Bearcats lost to a very good Lompoc Braves team 48-27. Jake Morones rushes for 135 yards and scored 3 TD’s. Leo Kemp rushed for 119 yards. QB Trevon Bridewell threw a 55-yard TD pass to Bastiaan Jaureguy,

PAGMETER Prediction Paso Robles 28 Independence 10
FINAL PASO ROBLES BEARCATS 14 INDEPENDENCE FALCONS 6
DAMONTE RANCH MUSTANGS (0-1) at CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES (1-1)
Both teams scheduled this game on Friday morning (GAMEDAY() with the shooting threats at Central and the Covid mess at Redwood, The Mustangs were already heading into town and worked out a game at Clovis West at 5pm. This is the opener for the Mustangs. Former Clovis West Hall of Fame Running Back Kendall Brock coaches the running backs at Damonte Ranch. Kendall will someday be the next great young high school head coach for some team. The Mustangs are 51-6 in their last 57 games, but they have graduated some tremendous talent and the Mustangs will be very young with plenty of Juniors and sophomores. The Nevada air has been very tough to practice in and KB is back at his old high school. You can’t make this stuff up.
The X factor is the offense on both sides of the ball. The Golden Eagles rotated QB’s with sophomore Tyler Patrick and junior Ryan Markarian vs Garces. Tyler threw a late 4th quarter TD pass to Jordan Pierro in the loss to Garces 28-7. The Mustangs must pull an old Kendall Brock style team and pound the ball and move the chains. The Golden Eagles should be picking a starting QB Friday because there has never been a successful team when rotating QB’s.
THIS IS A TOUGH PICK BECAUSE BOTH TEAMS ARE SCRAMBLING TO GET VIDEO! ON EACH OTHER!
PAGMETER Prediction Clovis West 35 Damonte Ranch 14
FINAL CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES 29 DAMONTE RANCH MUSTANGS 6
REEDLEY PIRATES (2-0) vs SIERRA PACIFIC GOLDEN BEARS (0-1)
The X factor this is the G-Bears opener, and they must try to slow down RB Ryan Warkentin who rushed for 260 yards and scored 4 TDs in the win over Hanford West 49-14.
The over/under for Warkentin rushing yards is 275. The Golden Bears will need a big night from the Running backs senior Jayden Sever, juniors Ty Etulian, QB Samuel Gonzalez and O-line.
PAGMETER Prediction Reedley 55 Sierra Pacific 13
FINAL REEDLEY PIRATES 33 SIERRA PACIFIC GOLDEN BEARS 21
LIBERTY PATRIOTS (2-0) at RIDGEVIEW WOLF PACK (0-2)
Carson Woods threw 2 TD passes to Jason Oliver, Jalen Hankins scored on 2 TD runs and the Patriots defense did the rest in the win on the road over Spanish Springs-Nevada 28-3. The Pack offense made way too many mistakes in the loss to Stockdale 27-7.
The X factor is the Wolf Pack will have their hands full vs the Patriots defense.
PAGMETER Prediction Liberty 55 Ridgeview 6
FINAL LIBERTY PATRIOTS 51 RIDGEVIEW WOLF PACK 0
HANFORD BULLPUPS (0-0) at MEMORIAL PANTHERS (1-0)
The Panthers come in beating Clovis North 20-0. Mikey Bell threw 2 TD pass to TJ Hall and Hall also scored on a 2-yard TD run.
This is the opener for the Bullpups who return 17 of the 22 starters from last year. The Bullpups are led by seniors, Noah Noyola WR/S, Trace Gonzalez DL/RB, Glen Mackey DB/RB and juniors, Jayden Sudds WR/DB, & Cayden Muir QB.
The Panthers beat a Broncos offense that couldn’t throw the football and they now will face a team that can.
The X factor if the Bullpups defense can step up and if they can slow down WR TJ Hall, the Bullpups will win on the road. Panthers, Brandon Ramirez (RB/DB) gets to play against his old team.
PAGMETER Prediction MEMORIAL 28 Hanford 27
HALFTIME MEMORIAL 8 HANFORD 7 (THIS GAME WAS POSTPONED AND SOMEBODY MADE A BLUNDER CALL)
MADERA COYOTES (1-0) at SELMA BEARS (0-1)
Both teams had to cancel last week because both administrations are wacky when it comes to getting kids playing. The contact tracing has some schools so scared that it’s turned into a joke! If anybody doesn’t agree that contact tracing is horrible then you are part of the problem.
The Coyotes have been playing Possum and they were not telling me about the new senior transfer Beau Green but we found out this week. Beau is a difference maker and will have the Coyotes ready for a Division 2-Division 3 playoff run. With the new playoff format, the Coyotes would be the leader in the clubhouse with Division 3 but now you never know. Beau is one of the top rated QB’s and this game went from a close game to a Coyotes big favorite.
The Bears will come in graduating almost everybody from one of their best classes in school history and will play a very young bunch.
The X factor is the the Bears are in big trouble.
PAGMETER Prediction Madera 48 Selma 13
FINAL MADERA COYOTES 35 SELMA BEARS 0
SUNNYSIDE WILDCATS (1-0) vs SOUTH REBELS (1-1)
The Wildcats come in beating Golden Valley, Merced in OT 30-28. Freshman QB Tanner Wilson with a huge night in his first varsity game ever throwing for 400 yards and 4TD’s.
The Rebels beat Independence 22-12. Junior QB Shane Carr took charge with his legs and arm.
The X factor is which defense will step up? The Rebels have plenty of team speed.
PAGMETER Prediction South 33 Sunnyside 25
FINAL SUNNSIDE WILDCATS 23 SOUTH REBELS 13
TAFT WILDCATS (1-0) at CALIFORNIA CITY RAVENS (0-1)
This is the opener for both teams and both teams didn’t play in the spring.
The X factor is who can cut down on mistakes with penalties and turnovers. The home team might have the slight edge.
This is a tough call since I have very little info on both teams. We have asked but so far got nothing from both teams.
PAGMETER Prediction Cal City 25 Taft 22
FINAL TAFT WILDCATS 56 CAL CITY RAVENS 0 (PAGMETER GUESSED WRONG IN THIS ONE) THE WILDCATS ARE GOOD!
TORRES TOROS (1-1) at ATASCADERO GREYHOUNDS (1-0)
The Toros come in beating Hoover 29-22 and getting their first win for the new school. The Toros win in week 1 makes practice fun for week 2. The PAGMETER picked Hoover over the Toros and the Toros proved me wrong. Of course, Toros nation let me know it.
This is the Hounds opener, and they know now the Toros are a good young team. Leading the way will be senior QB Evan Moscardi, who can run and pass at 6’3 along with seniors Jarren Fischer (WR/DB), Sean Davis (WR), Aiden Lemoine (RB/LB) and returning Juniors Cole Tanner (RB/LB), and Dallas Parish (HB/DL).
The X factor is the Toros need to play tremendous defense to stay in this one. The PAGMETER must take the home team over the new team.
PAGMETER Prediction Atascadero 36 Torres 26
FINAL ATASCADERO GREYHOUNDS 35 TORRES TOROS 0
TULARE UNION TRIBE (0-1) vs EL DIAMANTE MINERS (1-0)
Both teams had to cancel last week. For El Diamante, when you are in the Visalia Unified School District, you are always living on the edge of getting the call of canceling of the game because VUSD is not in kid business. All VUSD needs is a little excuse like a bad chin strap and boom…canceled.
VISALIA HAS SOME GREAT PEOPLE ON THE SCHOOL BOARD, THE SUPERINTENDENT AND HER PUPPETS ARE THE HUGE ISSUE AND THE GREAT PEOPLE OF VISALIA NEED TO REMOVE THE WORST SUPERINTENDENT IN THE USA HOPEFULLY SOONER THAN LATER!
The Tribe returns plenty of starters including senior QB Jorge Gonzalez, RB KJ Daniels, WR Pedro Alvarez and the entire offensive line.
The Miners will be very young and have not played for a year and that is because of VUSD. Keep an eye on the running backs, with senior Daniel Lopez, Deuce Benavente, Oscar Valdez, Freddy Valencia and sophomore RB Bryson Donelson.
LOOKING TO NEXT WEEK FOR THE TULARE UNION TRIBE, REDWOOD HAS ALREADY CANCELLED BECAUSE OF THE COVID MESS THIS WEEK SO TULARE UNION WILL BE LOOKING FOR A GAME NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT.
PAGMETER Prediction Tulare Union 31 El Diamante 25
FINAL EL DIAMANTE MINERS 47 TULARE UNION TRIBE 44
EXETER MONARCHS (2-0) at WOODLAKE TIGERS (0-2)
This eastside VALENCIA CUP rivalry has been going on for 105 years!
The Monarchs come in beating the Liberty Madera Hawks 25-14 and the Tigers lost to Orosi 38-26.
The X factor will be the defense because both offenses are good.
PAGMETER Prediction Exeter 36 Woodlake 13
FINAL EXETER MONARCHS 42 WOODLAKE TIGERS 0
CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES (2-0) at ATWATER FALCONS (0-2)
The Wolves got a nice win over Dinuba 33-30 (No Stats available) and the Falcons lost to Capital Christian of Sacramento 47-18. CC is a very good and athletic team.
Atwater had to find a game in a hurry after Madera had to cancel because of the political flu.
The X factor is this is a very good match up. Which defense will step up and slow down the QB’s with T Wolves freshman speedster Ty Miller vs Falcons senior Bo Valladao. The Falcons will be fired up to play a big TRAC team.
Someday I would love to see schools like Atwater, Merced, Golden Valley, Buhach Colony….play in the Central Section.
PAGMETER Prediction (UPSET SPECIAL) Atwater 28 Clovis East 27
FINAL CLOVIS EAST T WOLVES 34 ATWATER FALCONS 0 (BLEW THE UPSET SPECIAL)
TEMPLETON EAGLES (0-1) at COALINGA TOADS (2-0)
This is the Eagles opener, and they will be very young after graduating a tremendous class. The Toads come in after beating Caruthers 38-16. QB Jett Garcia went 15-25, for 288 yards passing, with 3 TDs, Devin Sanchez, with 136 yards receiving, 2 TD’s and an INT. Defensively, 3 fumble recoveries, one return for TD & 4 INT’s.
The X factor is the Toads are good and playing at home.
PAGMETER Prediction Coalinga 34 Templeton 23
FINAL COALINGA TOADS 27 TEMPLETON EAGLES 6
CABRILLO CONQUISTADORES (0-) 2vs NIPOMO TITANS (2-0)
Cabrillo has lost 28th straight games coming into week 2. The Titans beat Santa Ynez 21-16 in a great game. Nate Reese scored the game winning 7-yard TD run and the Titans defense did the rest including Gabe Sanchez’s interception with 1:15 to go.
The X factor if the Titans take care business, the Conquistadors will be losing their 29th straight game.
PAGMETER Prediction Nipomo 49 Cabrillo 6
FINAL NIPOMO TITANS 56 CABRILLO CONQUISTADORES 0
CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS (0-2) at EDISON CHARGERS (1-1)
The Broncos come in losing to Memorial 20-0 and Edison lost to Servite 54-14.
The X factor is the Broncos can’t throw the football, but they can pound the ball with a big O-line. The Chargers play a very tough schedule, and they need to win this game.
PAGMETER Prediction Edison 31 Clovis North 7
FINAL EDISON CHARGER 35 CLOVIS NORTH BRONCOS 13
PARACLETE SPIRITS (1-1) at GARCES RAMS (2-0)
The Spirits come in beating up Burroughs 41-0. The Rams beat Clovis West 28-7. Travis Plugge went 13-21 for 143 yards and threw a 53-yard TD to Julian Smith. Logan Bowers rushed for 135 yards and scored on a 95-yard TD run, Zamir Hall scored a fumble recovery.
The X factor the Spirits are a very good team, but will they be ready for the Rams speed?
PAGMETER Prediction Garces 30 Paraclete 20
FINAL GARCES RAMS 45 PARACLETE SPIRITS 31
GOLDEN VALLEY COUGARS (0-2) at MADERA SOUTH STALLIONS (1-1)
The Cougars lost at home in overtime to Sunnyside 30-28. One of the top running backs in the state Jabari Phillips scored 4 TD’s including a 98-yard TD run and a 65-yard punt return.
The Stallions lost on the road to Mission Oak 36-14. The Stallions had the lead at the half 14-12. The Stallions scored with Tayte Grantham 28-yard TD run and Angelo Moreno scored on a 10-yard run.
The X factor can the Stallions slow down Jabari Phillips and can the Cougars slow down Tayte Grantham and Angelo Moreno? The Cougars couldn’t stop the Sunnyside passing attack, but the Stallions can’t throw the football, so this comes down to the front 7 on the defensive side of the ball for both teams.
PAGMETER Prediction Madera South 24 Golden Valley 17
