Week 6

Ryan Maddox

Sophomore, Clovis North Broncos Softball 

Ryan is the top pitcher in the Central Section and the 5th ranked pitcher in the Country. Last week Ryan threw a 2-hitter, 0BB with 10 K’s in the Quarterfinal win over Madera 2-0. Ryan and the Broncos won the TRAC conference for the first time in school history. Ryan is 19-1 on the year with a 0.62 ERA (131 innings pitched with 192 strikeouts). The Broncos are hoping to win their first Central Section Championship in school history!

The super lefty throws heat and and has tremendous command of all of her pitches with a flat-out desire to dominate. When Ryan is on her game it’s lights out and only and gets stronger as the game goes on. Ryan is outstanding now and will only get better in the circle. The next 2 years, the Broncos will be the team to beat. At the plate, Ryan has power and speed from the left side.

Ryan is being recruited be so many colleges from all over the country including Oklahoma, Texas, Washington Arizona, Oregon, Florida, Minnesota, Northwestern…..The list will keep on growing…

In the classroom, Ryan is a future colleges dream with a 4.0 GPA and a fabulous teammate that feeds off her energy! Ryan is the leader in the house for PAGMETER Player of the year.

Julian Rocha

Senior, Minarets Mustangs Baseball 

Julian is an old school player that loves to play the great game of baseball. Julian plays 1st base, outfield and this year he’s the Mustangs ace and boy has he come up big on the hill and down the stretch for the Mustangs. Rocha has pitched outstanding the last 3 games in a row beating Orange Cove, Caruthers and Lindsay. Those big wins have earned the Mustangs the No 1 seed in the Division 5 playoffs.

Against Caruthers the senior lefty pitched 6 innings with a bloody nose in 105 degree heat. The Mustangs feel good when Rocha is pitching! The Mustangs have an outstanding combination with their lefty pitchers with Rocha and closer Syler Pillsbury.
