FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS FINAL SCORES

PLAYOFFS START IN THE QUARTERFINALS
This weeks Predictions…….ARE TOUGH TO FIGURE OUT! So many great matchups!
I have been doing Predictions since 2002 and this might just be the toughest playoff week of all to pick winners. So many games are so close.

DIVISION 1

No 8 Ridgeview Wol Pack (8-4) at No 1 Central Grizzlies (11-0)
Pag Meter Line Central -35+
The Wolf Pack comes in beating Tulare Union 40-21. The Pack got off to a very slow start but came on strong.
The Grizzlies come off a bye. QB Jameson Silva, is having the perfect senior year going 144-186 for 2,222 yards and 32 TD passes.
The X factor if the Pack wants to hang around, QB Justin Hinzo needs to get off to a great start. The Grizzlies are just to tough at home and the Grizzlies home crowd are the loudest. The Pack will have their hands full.
Pag Meter Prediction Central 49 Ridgeview 10

FINAL CENTRAL 56 RIDGEVIEW 10

No 5 Clovis Cougars (7-5) vs No 4 Bullard Knights (9-2)
Pag Meter Line Clovis -4
This has the makings to be a real good game and tough to call.
The Cougars come off a win over Arroyo Grande 56-7. Sophomore Tristan Risley, scored 3 TD’s and the Cougars rolled to 505 total yards.
The Knights come off a bye.
The X factor the Knights beat the Cougars in their first meeting 19-7 in week 3. The Knights have been coasting since losing to Memorial and the Cougars schedule hasn’t been easy.
The Cougars have improved a ton since the Sept 6 game. The Knights defense is really good and in the first meeting the Knights held Risley to 81 yards.
If the Cougars can pound the ball that will help QB Isaiah Robles with his play action offense. The Knights senior QB Jaden Pierucci has settled in and doing a good job at getting the ball to his athletes.
For the Knights to win and play Central next week, they have to get back to the Bullard Knights offense and that’s pounding the football with Shalom Welch. THEY SURE DID!! The Cougars have reached at least the Quarterfinals now for 10 straight years.
Pag Meter Prediction Clovis 27 Bullard 26

FINAL BULLARD 47 CLOVIS 21 (PAG METER BLEW THIS PICK!)

No 7 Bakersfield Drillers (6-6) at No 2 Buchanan Bears (9-2)
Pag Meter Line Buchanan -27
The Drillers stepped up and beat Clovis East 34-15. Wesley Wilson, rushed for 97 yards, scored on a 11-yard TD to start the 2nd half and the Drillers defense did a great job slowing down the CE offense.
The Bears come off a bye.
The X factor can the Drillers slow down Kendall Milton and the passing of Ian Kirby? The Drillers offense will need some big plays.
Pag Meter Prediction Buchanan 40 Bakersfield 13

FINAL BUCHANAN 43 BAKERSFIELD 7

No 11 Clovis West Golden Eagles (4-8) at No 3 Liberty Patriots (10-1)
Pag Meter Line Liberty -19
The Golden Eagles come in beating Clovis North 34-14. This was no upset and It’s official, the Golden Eagles are a much better team than the Broncos on both sides of the ball. They could play each other 100 times and Clovis West would beat CN by at least 14 points every time. Senior QB Bradley Senneway played his best game of the year going 11-14, for 288 yards, & 2 TD passes.
The Patriots come off a bye.
The X factor this is a rematch from week 3 when Liberty beat CW 17-7. The Golden Eagles offense has improved a bunch since week 3 and the Patriots defense is still just as good.
Since week 3, the Golden Eagles schedule has been much tougher than the Patriots schedule.
The Clovis West offense needs a big night running the ball with Brandon Wafer. This is a winnable game for CW if they believe they can do it!!! Plenty of teams lose to Liberty before getting off the bus.
Pag Meter Prediction Liberty 34 Clovis West 14

FINAL LIBERTY 38 CLOVIS WEST 14

DIVISION 2
No 9 Garces Rams (5-7) at No 1 Hanford Bullpups (11-0)
Pag Meter Line Hanford -14
The Rams are hot and coming off a win over Frontier 37-7. The Rams defense came up with 5 picks. Jalen Smith, rushed for 111 yards and scored 2 TD’s including a big 62 -yard TD run.
The Bullpups come in off a bye and boy did they need it. In the win over Lemoore in the Milk Can game, QB Juaron Watts-brown went down in the 3rd quarter with a shoulder injury. The Top defensive player in our section Tyler Mello, hasn’t played since the first quarter of the Golden West game.
The X factor Watts-brown is doubtful this week. Senior back up Cason Whitney will be ready to take over. Whitney came in and played like a 3 year starter and played great under pressure in helping lead the Bullpups to a victory. Whitney is the perfect team player and has been waiting for his shot & this his time to shine. Mello will be a game time decision.
If the Rams can take care of the ball, (THEY DIDN’T) look for QB Joseph Campbell to have a big game.
Pag Meter Prediction (upset special) Garces 31 Hanford 23

FINAL HANFORD 33 GARCES 20 (EVERY TIME I TAKE THE RAMS, THEY TURN THE BALL OVER WAY TOO MANY TIMES)

No 13 Dinuba Emperors (5-7) vs No 5 Tulare Western Mustangs (10-2)
Pag Meter Line Tulare Western -26
The Emperors come off a big win at Chuck Shidan field beating Sanger 28-14. Josh Magana, threw for 181 yards with 2 TD passes. For his career, Josh has thrown for 7,051 yards and 89 TD passes.
The Mustangs beat Nipomo 42-7. RB Tairyn Johnson, has now rushed for 1,356 yards and has scored 15 TD’s.
The X factor the Mustangs have won 6 in a row after losing to Hanford. This Mustangs team is different in the past because they always had a great record but were never battle tested and got smoked against the good division 2 playoff teams. This year could be different.
The Emperors got by Sanger and a big part of was that the Apaches went through plenty of QB’s. According to legend statistician Ron Blackwood, who has been watching Sanger football for 68 years: Ron has never seen Sanger use 4 QB’s all in 2 weeks.
Noel Collazo, separate shoulder 1st half against SJM, John Pena, backup QB, knee injury in the Madera game. Nick Wise, 3rd QB, completely broken Clavicle, in the 1st half of the Dinuba game & finished the game with JV QB Joaiah Duarte, who was brought up for insurance.
Pag Meter Prediction Tulare Western 42 Dinuba 14

FINAL TULARE WESTERN 47 DINUBA 10 ( Ryan Rocha is now the Mustangs all-time leader in coaching wins with 62)

No 6 St. Joseph Knights (9-3) vs No 3 Redwood Rangers (10-2)
Pag Meter Line Redwood -4
The Knights come in beating Sunnyside 27-6. Brett Burress, scored on a 3- yard TD run. Hunter Barnhart, with a 1 yard TD run, Tyler Williams recovered a fumble in the end zone of a TD & Darien Langley, scored on a 68-yard TD run.
The Rangers beat Atascadero 49-6. The Rangers defense is playing outstanding and on a 6 game winning streak.
The X factor is the Knights offense which is lead by QB Hunter Barnhart vs the Rangers defense. The Knights offense has to finish drives with TD ‘s to win in Visalia. Can the Knights offense handle the physical Rangers offensive line?
Pag Meter Prediction Redwood 28 St Joseph 24

FINAL ST JOSEPH 28 REDWOOD 21

Stockdale Mustangs (6-6) at Memorial Panthers (10-1)
Pag Meter Line Memorial -14
The Mustangs come off a big win over Righetti High 34-24.
The Panthers come off a bye.
The X factor is the Mustangs defense matching up and putting pressure of the passing attack. The Panthers are a very streaky team and when they are on a hot streak, impossible to beat.
Pag Meter Prediction Memorial 35 Stockdale 21

FINAL MEMORIAL 42 STOCKDALE 13
DIVISION 3
No 8 Central Valley Christian Cavaliers (8-4) at No 1 Kingsburg Vikings (10-1)

The Vikings come off a bye.
The X factor this is the second go around for CVC playing Kingsburg and without Jaalen Rening. The Vikings won 34-20.
Can Griswold go off against a very good Vikings defense. CVC has to get off to a great start and hope the Vikings come out sleepy from the bye week.
Pag Meter Prediction Kingsburg 37 CVC 23

Blazers head coach Paul Preheim is back coaching after being away because of health issues.
The X factor is the defense on both sides of the ball.

Pag Meter Prediction Porterville 44 Chavez 19

FINAL PORTERVILLE 40 CHAVEZ 6

Kennedy Thunderbirds (10-2) at Templeton Eagles (10-2)
Pag Meter Line Templeton -3
The Birds come in beating Santa Maria 40-28.

The X factor is the Eagles only loss was to Liberty Ranchos (Wing T) and now will face a very good Wing T offense. This could be a very high scoring game.
Pag Meter Prediction Templeton 40 Kennedy 37

FINAL KENNEDY 28 TEMPLETON 21

Caruthers beat Coalinga 27-7. Bobby Staley scored 2 TD’s and Gustavo Arciga, scored 2 TD’s including a 70 yard pick 6.
The X factor is the defense because both offenses are real good.
Immanuel Sophomore QB Hector Davila is back playing his old team. Hector played for Caruthers POP Warner football team in 6th-7th-8th grade and he is good.
This should be a very good game!

The X factor is the Stallions believing that they are the better team. If the Stallions look at the fantastic 10-1 Badgers record, and say “WOW they are so good” then the Badgers will roll. If both teams switched schedules, it would be a complete reverse of records. This game is all between the ears!
Which defense plays better up front will be a huge factor. THE BADGERS DEFENSE WORE DOWN THE STALLIONS
