THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
7pm Kickoff For ALL GAMES
DIVISION 5
No 9 Madera South Stallions (5-6) vs No 8 Mission Oak Hawks (5-6)
Pag Meter Line Mission Oak -7
This is a rematch from week 6 when the Stallions beat the Hawks 21-14.
The X factor it’s always tough to beat a team again in the same year.
One big question has to be asked, Madera South has played the toughest schedule by far in Division 5 and it’s not close. Madera South beat Mission Oak and Mission Oak gets the Higher seed. How does that work?
The Hawks come in playing better football over the Stallions. The Stallions were playing real good football before the death march of the CMAC league but just not the same team now. Can the Stallions find the magic again? The Stallions can’t win if they turn the ball over. The Hawks defense will focus on the Madera South running game because the Stallions can’t throw the football. In the first meeting the Stallions play action passing was a thing of beauty. Can they do it again? One player for Mission Oak will not play because of the fight against Delano.
Pag Meter Prediction Mission Oak 35 Madera South 28

FINAL
MADERA SOUTH 35 MISSION OAK 34 in OVERTIME
Isaiah Tyler scored the game winning 11-yard TD run in OT. Tyler scored 4 TD’s and Marvin Brewer scored on 3-yard TD run

PAG METER PREDICTIONS FOR DIVISION 1

No 12 Arroyo Grande Eagles (6-5) at No 5 Clovis Cougars (7-4)
Pag Meter Line Clovis -21
The Eagles come in off a bye.
The Cougars beat Clovis West 27-23 for the Range Rider Trophy. The Cougars snapped a 5 game losing streak to CW. RB Tristan Risley rushed for 217 yards and scored the game winning TD.
The X factor is the Cougars D-line and can they slow down the big and physical Eagles?
Clovis is looking to go 10 straight years of making it at least to the Quarterfinals of the Playoffs. Can the Eagles throw the ball if they need too?
The Winner will play the No 4 Bullard Knights at McLane Stadium in the Quarterfinals.
Pag Meter Prediction Clovis 35 Arroyo Grande 14

FINAL CLOVIS 56 ARROYO GRANDE 7

No 10 Clovis East T Wolves (4-7) at No 7 Bakersfield Drillers (6-5)
Pag Meter Line Bakersfield -14
The T Wolves come in losing to Central 42-7.
The Drillers lost to Liberty 37-7.
The Pag Meter had CE playing CW in the first round but instead the T Wolves will have to gas up the bus.
The X factor is the Drillers have not seen a wing T offense all year long and it’s not easy to practice against during the week. If the T Wolves take care of the ball then the bus ride home will be fun. If the T Wolves turn the ball over then the bus ride home will not be fun.
The winner will play at the No 2 Buchanan Bears in the Quarterfinals
Pag Meter Prediction (Upset Special) Clovis East 27 Bakersfield 20

FINAL BAKERSFIELD 34 CLOVIS EAST 15 (I Blew the upset pick)

No 11 Clovis West Golden Eagles (4-7) at No 6 Clovis North Broncos (7-4)
Pag Meter Line Clovis West -17
In the first meeting the Golden Eagles crushed the Broncos 41-13. Brandon Wafer had a big night scoring 2 TD’s. Pag Meter Picked Clovis North and boy was I wrong.
The Broncos lost to Buchanan 45-21. The Bears shut it down and the Broncos scored some TD’s late.
The X factor it’s hard to beat a team twice in the same year and the Golden Eagles came into the first meeting not believing the Broncos 6-0 hype. Can the Golden Eagles get that killer attitude back for this game? The Broncos had internal issues that week vs CW and I can’t imagine the Broncos laying another egg. This should be a real good game.
The winner will play at the No 3 Liberty Patriots in the Quarterfinals.
Pag Meter Prediction (Mini upset special) Clovis North 27 Clovis West 24

FINAL CW 34 CN 14 (It’s official, the Golden Eagles are clearly a much better team)

No 9 Tulare Union Tribe (8-3) at No 8 Ridgeview Wolf Pack (8-3)
Pag Meter Line Ridgeview -21
The No 9 vs the No 8 game is always the best first round game. Both teams didn’t play a tough schedule and both are trying to earn the Division 1 respect.
TU comes in losing in the Bell game to Tulare Western 24-14.
The Wolf Pack beat Independence 55-7. QB Justin Hinzo, threw for a career high with 396 yards along with a career high with 5 TD passes. Wide-receiver Alijah Alexander set a school record with 4 TD’s on 8 receptions for 125 yards.
The X factor is the Tribe offense and can they keep up with the Wolf Pack’s offense on the scoreboard? With Hinzo at QB, the Pack are a dangerous team.
The winner has to play at No 1 Central in the Quarterfinals.
Pag Meter Prediction Ridgeview 41 Tulare Union 21

No 9 Garces Rams (5-6) at No 8 Frontier Titans (5-6)
Pag Meter Line Garces -17
This is a rematch from Oct 4 when Frontier won in a shootout 40-35.
The X factor is football is a game of MOJO and if you are playing your best football at the right time. On Oct 4, Frontier was playing their best football and Garces was struggling. This Friday, Garces is playing much better football and Frontier comes in struggling.
This game is all about turnovers and who can play clean football?
The winner will play at No 1 Hanford Bullpups in the Quarterfinals
Pag Meter Prediction Garces 31 Frontier 14

FINAL GARCES 37 FRONTIER 7

No 12 Nipomo Titans (4-7) at No 5 Tulare Western Mustangs (9-2)

Junior Mikey Ficher, is having a fantastic year on both sides of the ball. On defense he has 6 Interceptions and 4 of them went for TD’s.
The X factor the Mustangs offense will be too much for the Titans defense.
Pag Meter Prediction Tulare Western 35 Nipomo 7

FINAL TULARE WESTERN 42 NIPOMO 7

No 13 Dinuba Emperors (5-6) at No 4 Sanger Apaches (8-3)
Pag Meter Line Sanger -7
These teams need to play against each other every year with a great east side rivalry.
Last time the Apaches played the Emperors was in 2016 in the Division 2 playoffs and Sanger rolled 42-7. This will be the 16th meeting. Sanger leads the series 9 –4 -1. 1st game was played in 1902.
Leading the way for the Emperors is QB Josh Magana, who has thrown for 2,207 yards and 26 TD passes.
For the Apaches they will pound the ball with Kosi Agina who became the 11th Apache to rush for more than 2000 yards (2,060).
The X factor and there is 2 big X factors,
No 1, Dinuba struggles running the football and has to throw a lot. Josh has put up big numbers because Dinuba is always way behind and It might happen again in this one. The Emperors defense also gives up plenty of points.
No 2, Pag Meter watch list All Star Sanger QB Noel Collazo, got hurt in Friday nights game vs Memorial with a shoulder injury and is out for the rest of the year. Huge loss for the Apaches offense. That means Nick Wise will take over so can he step in and lead the Apaches offense?
Pag Meter Prediction Sanger 27 Dinuba 20

FINAL DINUBA 28 SANGER 14 (The Apaches went through 5 QB’s because of injuries. Has to be a record)

The X factor the Cats can show everybody that they belong in the upper division 2 bracket with a win on the coast. The Wildcats are looking for a 2019 signature win and this would be it. The problem is for the Cats is they are real good on both sides of the ball.

FINAL CARUTHERS 27 COALINGA 7

No 9 Immanuel Eagles (9-2) at No 8 Reedley Pirates (6-5)
Pag Meter Line Reedley -7
This will be a great match up of two teams down the street from each other. The Pirates program has been down for a while but since new coach Tony Gates and his staff have taken over, kids are now staying at Reedley & fired up to play football again.
The Eagles numbers are down but they have plenty of talent.
In comparison, Immanuel is like Memorial and Bullard. For Years some Bullard kids would transfer to Bullard and it was always a great rivalry. Reedley/Immanuel is just like Bullard/Memorial. Let the rivalry begin!
