WEST YOSEMITE
Redwood Rangers (7-1) (2-1) at Hanford Bullpups (8-0) (3-0)

The winner will battle Memorial for the No 1 seed and the winner will be the leader in the club house for the West Yosemite League Championship. So much on the line.
The Rangers come in beating Golden West in a shoot 42-38. The GW Wing T ran all over the Rangers defense. Marcus Correia, scored the game winning 5-yard TD with 1 minute to go. Correia also scored on a 1-yard TD run. Ryan Rios hit Sam Olsen on a 8-yard TD pass. Malachi Aguilar, took back a kickoff for a 95-yard TD. Diamond Davis took a handoff up the middle for a 51-yard TD. Brian Brown, scored on a beautiful screen pass for a 13-yard TD.
The Bullpups beat MW 68-3. This game was over at the coin flip. Luttrell Young, rushed for 168 yards and scored 3 TD’s. Juaron Watts-Brown went 9-for-9 for 165 yards and 5 TD passes. Taryn Rubalcava, caught 5 footballs and scored 3 TD’s.
The X factor, Bullpups Juaron Watts-Brown is the more dangerous QB.
Other big X factors are..
*Both defenses are real good! Which defense will play better?
* Can the Rangers defense match up with the Bullpups speed?
* The Bullpups have the Pag Meter Student Athlete of the Week, Tyler Mello, at linebacker and he comes in as the best defensive player in the section. Can the Rangers block Tyler?
* Rangers QB Ryan Rios has to have a breakout game for the Rangers to win.
*This is the best defense that both offenses will see all year long.
* Who will win the turnover battle?
* Which offensive line will control the line scrimmage?
* Which team will make the big play in front of the big crowd? Hanford did
* Can the Bullpups slow down the best Tight End in the section Sam Olsen? Kind of
* Don’t go by last week’s game for Redwood. The Wing T is a different beast.

The Emperors come in losing to Selma 36-23. The defense continues to struggle. QB Josh Magana went 29-40, for 349 yards and 2 TD pass.
The Vikings come in beating CVC 34-20. I was wrong when I thought the Vikings would struggle without QB Jett Jackson, this Vikings team is special. Travis Hall and the defense stepped up. Hall threw 3 TD passes. Blake Spomer caught a 57-yard TD pass and Kaden Tate caught 2 TD passes of 37 and 18 yards. Blake Spomer, also scored on TD runs of 41 and 35 yards.
The X factor is the Vikings defense is much better than the Emperors defense. The Emperors running game is non existent.

Exeter beat Hanford West 51-0.

The Mustangs come in beating Porterville 27-17. Tairyn Johnson, is red hot at the right time of year. He rushed for 185 yards, scored a TD and the defense played their best game of the year.
The X factor is the Mustangs are working on cutting down on mistakes and look for TJ to crank up the running game.

The Panthers lost to TW 27-17. The Panthers turned the ball over way too much to beat a good team like Tulare Western.
The X factor is the Panthers defense slowing down the Mustangs offense. A great matchup is the Tribe outstanding defense vs the Panthers offense.

The X factor is the Ravens get a free pass this week but if they want to win the HDL and beat Bishop Union, they need to clean up their act. The last 2 weeks the Ravens have played good football for 24 minutes. This team is real good when they play 4 quarters.

The big difference in this one is Warriors senior QB Logan Mortensen who has thrown for 1,371 yards and 17 TD’s. Logan will be the difference.

The Patriots steam rolled Frontier 42-0. The defense stuffed the Titans. QB Haden Mann, threw for 207 yards, 2 TD passes and rushed for 94 yards, scored 2 TD’s. Jason Oliver caught a 15-yard TD pass and Ramon Henderson, caught a 66-yard TD pass. Prentice Boone, scored on a 1-yard TD run. Brady Torrigiani, scored on a 19-yard TD run.
The X factor can the Mustangs play their game and forget they are playing the powerful Patriots? It gets in your head.
The Patriots are the best team in the south valley and the only question is, can they beat Central or Buchanan because nobody else is beating the Pates.

Brandon Hernandez, caught 2 TD passes (15 and 43 yards) and Kendall Milton caught a 67-yarder. Milton also scored on TD runs of 47 and 67 yards. Dante Lawson, scored on a 2-yard TD run.
The Cougars got rolled in the loss to No 1 Central 56-14. Cougars have to forget the Central game because everybody is getting rolled by Central.
The X factor is the Bears Wildcat offense is a memory and that’s bad news for a lot of teams because the Bears can now throw it over hand to go along with the power running game. The more snaps Kirby takes the better the Bears will be come playoff time.
For the Cougars to hang around they have to get off to a great start.
