THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FINAL SCORES

CHAVEZ TITANS (2-0) vs MONACHE MARAUDERS (0-2)
Pag Meter Line Monache -3
The Titans come in beating Delano 12-7 and the Marauders lost to Golden West 26-15.
The X factor is the Titans offense vs the Monache defense.
Thursday night is a tough night to get fired up to play so who will bring the fire??
Pag Meter Prediction Monache 27 Chavez 25
FINAL CHAVEZ 23 MONACHE 14
The Titans defense is very good and they came up with some huge stops!!

EDISON TIGERS (0-2) vs CLOVIS WEST GOLDEN EAGLES (2-0)
Pag Meter Line Edison -6
One team comes in fired up (Clovis West) and one team comes in ice cold (Edison).
The Tigers didn’t show up and lost to Central 47-12. Myles Lee scored on a 8-yard TD run and Demitres Johnson scored on a 1-yard TD pass from Ian Miller. The Tigers defense got run over. The Tigers were told at game time for the 2nd year in a row that some players were ruled ineligible. Last year at Ratcliffe and playing Central it happened. This year left tackle Gavin Hals and left guard Nick Garza were told at 6pm on Friday that they couldn’t play. Edison was devastated losing the left side of their line.
For the Golden Eagles they beat Central Catholic 26-22. Tim Randall gets his first win as the Clovis West Head Coach. QB Bradley Senneway hit Isaiah Howard on the game winning 5 yard TD pass with seconds to go. Brandon Wafer rushed for 162 yards and scored 3 TD’s.
The X factor is the Edison Tigers because on paper, this is not a good matchup for the Golden Eagles. Will the Tigers bring their A game? Gavin Hals has been cleared. As for Nick Garza, he won’t be cleared until after the game. Can the Tigers slow down red hot RB Brandon Wafer? Stay tuned. Wild things sometimes happen on Thursday night football.
Pag Meter Prediction Edison 23 Clovis West 17
FINAL CLOVIS WEST 25 EDISON 7
The Golden Eagles simply outplayed and out coached the Tigers. The Golden Eagles execution on both sides of the ball was outstanding. Mateo Morales scored 2 TD’s with runs of 6 and 1 yard runs. Brandon Wafer scored on an 8-yard TD run. The schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Tigers with Buchanan, Clovis North and Dinuba coming up. Can the Tigers keep it together?
MINARETS MUSTANGS (1-0) vs MARIPOSA GRIZZLIES (1-1)
Pag Meter Line Minarets -7
This game is played in Yosemite because of the big Mariposa fair. It’s a big deal up there!!
This has the makings to be a real good game. The Mustangs have never beaten the Grizzlies (0-6). Last year the Grizzlies beat the Mustangs 15-13.
There are two big X factors in this mountain battle.
No 1, can the Mustangs defense slow down a big and physical Grizzlies running attack?
No 2, Can the Grizzlies stay with the Mustangs speed?
It’s always tougher to play a team that has already played a game. The Grizzlies come in beating Summerville 30-24.
The Mustangs have the potential to be real good but this year they have to play good defense to make a long playoff run,
Pag Meter Prediction Minarets 37 Mariposa 30
FINAL MINARETS 41 MARIPOSA 25
First win ever over the Grizzlies for the Mustangs

BAKERSFIELD DRILLERS (1-1) at TEHACHAPI WARRIORS (0-2)
Pag Meter Line Bakersfield -35+
The X factor is new Drillers Head Coach Michael Stewart will get his first win and this game will get ugly early. The Warriors are not a bad team. They have the toughest 2 games to start the year. It’s not a good matchup for the Warriors.
Pag Meter Prediction Bakersfield 55 Tehachapi 6

BAKERSFIELD CHRISTIAN EAGLES (2-0) at CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS (0-2)
Pag Meter Line Bakersfield Christian -14
The Eagles come in beating Garces 22-0 and CVC lost to St Joseph 35-7.
The X factor is the Eagles beat the Rams bad after one of the top QB’s in the section Joseph Campbell went out early with an injury and now they take on the Cavalier without their top running back with Jaalen Rening who won’t be back for a few more weeks from an injury he got in 7v7 this summer.

BULLARD KNIGHTS (0-1) at BUCHANAN BEARS (1-1)
Pag Meter Line Buchanan -16
The Knights have been waiting since January to play the Bears. Bullard comes in with plenty of team speed. Last year the Knights lost to the Bears 34-0.
The Bears come in on short rest and got beat up in the loss to Narbonne 32-7
Kendall Milton, rushed for 133 yards and scored aTD. There was a zero chance that the Bears were going to beat Narbonne with the game plan they came in with. Kendall is real good but he can’t run with 22 eyes on him on every play. Bears QB DJ Stevenson was a non factor.
The X factor is both young junior QB’s with the Knights Bryce Weiner vs the Bears Stevenson. Who will have the better game?
Some big match ups to keep an eye on is the Knights young offensive line going against the best defense they will see all year long and the Knights defense vs Kendall Milton. The Bears will come in with a zero passing attack. There is no secret at what the Bears offense wants to do. Hand it to Kendall and watch him go.
For the Bears to contend for a section championship, they have to be able to throw the ball.
The Knights offense has to have a great game with RB Shalom Welch running the football or the Bears will run away with this one.
Pag Meter Prediction Buchanan 37 Bullard 21

FINAL BUCHANAN 28 BULLARD 14

Kendall re injured his quad from last week and only played 2 minutes.

RIGHETTI HIGH WARRIORS (2-0) at LOMPOC BRAVES (1-1)
Pag Meter Line Lompoc -19
A big match of two power houses. The Warriors come in beating Santa Maria 42-7, Kidasi Nepa, rushed for 164 yards on 10 carries, and scored 2 TD’s. Christian Roseborough rushed for 96 yards and scored a TD.
Lompoc beat Simi Valley 24-7, freshmen Cavin Ross came in and did a nice job at QB after star Cameron Iribarren left with a leg injury and could be out for the year.
The Braves beat a very good team. The Warriors didn’t play a scrimmage so this was a real live scrimmage to get ready for the Braves. The Braves didn’t play a scrimmage either but got the win.
Both defenses are outstanding so the X factor is the offense and who will have the better night running the football? Can the Warriors defense hang with the speedy Braves?

Both teams are much improved this year with plenty of returning players. Last year the Saints beat the Wolves 29-28.
The X factor is the Saints are playing at home and need a win, especially with the tough teams on the rest of the schedule.
