PACK PRIDE

The first Friday of every school year at Clovis East is “ pack pride “ day.

All 4500 Reagan Education Center students & staff get a “ pack pride “ themed t-shirt and free entrance into Friday night’s home football game and boy did the Wolfpack give a sold out student section something to cheer for.

The Twolves played 48 minutes of near perfect football. Clovis East since the return of Coach Ryan Reynolds with the help of his ground and pound attack have returned the Twolves to prominence. However after the departure of last years Co-trac offensive player of the year, Ryan Hunt, many wondered how the Wolfpack would fare.

Last Friday night Reynolds quelled the doubters as he leaned heavily on a trio of Senior Running Backs as the Lemoore Tigers visited Lamonica Stadium. On the ground Senior RB Jo’nation Dejohnette shouldered most of the load finishing with 19 carries for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns. Senior RB Chandler Hamilton also finished with 17 carries for 127 yards and 1 touchdown. However, the most electrifying player on the field very well may have been 5’5 speedster special teams star & running back, AJ Hodgerney, who had 11 carries for 78 yards and a touchdown to go with an almost 40 yard punt return on the opening drive. After the game Hodgerney had this to say, “ I just try to make plays when I can. I don’t worry about how many carries I’ve gotten or doubts about my size or anything like that. Every time I touch the ball my goal is to take it to the house. For most of us this is our Senior year and we just want to leave a legacy and set the standard for the future of Clovis East Football.”

Of course it wasn’t all offense for Clovis East as the defensive unit as a whole played superb highlighted by Junior LB Jacob Tafoya’s tip interception as the Wolfpack held stout to shutout the Tigers.

The Final Score was Twolves 35 to Tigers 0. This week the Twolves travel to Woods High School of Vacaville where they hope to extend their record to 2-0. In other CE sporting news women’s volleyball lost a tough one on Friday night to Pitman 3 sets to 1, but bounced back Tuesday night to beat Golden Valley in 3 sets!
