DIVISION 4 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE 2018
FINAL RANKINGS
No 1 CENTRAL VALLEY CHRISTIAN CAVALIERS (12-3) (4-1 CSL) CHAMPIONS
Last year the Cavaliers went (10-3) (3-2 CSL)
Head Coach Mason Hughes
The Cavaliers were so close at winning the division 4 section championship but lost in overtime to Golden West. This team has the makings to be better than last years team and that’s why they come in at No 1. The Cavaliers are returning 15 players from last year. The New QB will be 6’4 senior Eric Dragt who had one heck of a summer. We all know 7 vs 7 isn’t real football but Eric plays DB so that makes him tough. Dragt, played in 10 games at QB last season, 13-of-24 passes for 228 yards with 3 TD passes.. He also ran for 94 yards and three more scores. If Eric has a big year then look for the Cavaliers to be playing on Championship night Nov 23.
Junior RB Jaalen Rening, could have a monster year. He rushed for 1,396 yards and 12 TD’s last year.
Senior receiver Brian Noel will lead the way catching footballs.
The offensive line will be good and big junior Dirk Nelson who is back and will play upfront on both sides of the ball. Senior Dustin Van Grouw is one heck of a tight end.
The defense should be real good and leading the way will be senior linebacker Spencer Morris (RB) and Senior defensive end Grant Highstreet.
The X factor will be so many players playing both ways,

The Bears have lost plenty of stars including QB Junior Ramirez with graduation. The Bears lose senior QB Ricky Mota for the year with a broken arm. Ricky was one heck of an athlete and will be missed. The New QB is now sophomore Joey Ramirez and has the potential to be real good!
The Bears return a lot of players that played in a lot of meaningful minutes last year including the entire offensive line. The Bears will have 4 sophomores that will all carry the ball that are very talented but young along with returners Brian Ching and Patrick Angelo. Leading WR Ivan Valdez returns who looked great all summer in 7 on 7.
Defensively the Bears will be led by DE/TE Dante Guicho, NG/RT Martin Lucio, MLB Adam Rodriguez, OLB’s Brian Ching and Niko Herrera. Both corners return with Ricky Mota and Casey Gonzalez, An Athlete to watch out for is Aaron Blancas who played on the basketball team as a Freshman and will play corner and touch the ball in a variety of ways. Last year the Monarchs went (5-6) (1-4 CSL)
Head Coach Keirsten Lamb
The Monarchs have been getting after it all summer long and this is one of the hardest working Monarchs groups in a while.
Last year the Monarchs ran a Pro style offensive attack with a young team. Plenty come back and they will be much better this year.
The QB will be senior Jaykob Acosta and he’s the best athlete on the team. You talk about a sleeper QB….here is the true sleeper. The O-line is working hard and should be real good upfront.

No 17 MADERA SOUTH STALLIONS (0-10) (0-5 CMAC)
Last year the Stallions went (1-9) (0-5 CMAC)
Head Coach Matt Johnson
Matt is building a football culture at Madera South. It’s much easier when you have one high school in your town. Some Madera South players have not bought in as of yet. The Stallions have so much potential and the players that have bought in are working their ass off and it’s great to see. The Stallion players are so respectful and I love that! The young Stallions (7th-9th) are very good so the future is bright.
With a new high school coming in Madera ….I PLEAD with the CIF to get Madera South out of the CMAC. It’s simple…..Move Washington Union out of the NSL and into the NYL, move Sunnyside out of the NYL and into the CMAC (where they belong) and move Madera South out of the CMAC and into the North Sequoia. It’s a no brainer and I can’t believe it hasn’t happened yet.
There is NOT one team in division 4 that would win a game in the CMAC so Madera South has to do well with the 5 non league games before it turns into a child abuse case.
The QB will now be Sr. Steven Alaniz and it’s about time because the Stallions have had ZERO QB play. Steven is Swiss Army Knife and team leader and he is needed at QB.
Sr. Matt Posas who is the best running back will come in hurt with a bad shoulder that he hurt in wrestling. He’s a Bad Ass wrestler and track sprinter.
Sr. Dallas Hansen, is 6’1″ 200, RB/Safety/LB. Big and fast, great student athlete.
Sr Emilio Gonzalez, 5’10” 205 LB/OG Steady, smart and aggressive. He has the intangibles.
The X factor is the Stallions need to stay focus during the CMAC league play because they have plenty of potential in the division 4 playoffs. This team is a work in progress…
