Division 1-A Northern Section Championship Friday Night 7:30
FOLSOM BULLDOGS (12-1) at CENTRAL GRIZZLIES (13-0)

The Winner plays the Cathedral Catholic Dons (12-1) for the Division 1-A State Championship at Cerritos College Friday Dec 14 at 6pm
This is a rematch from last year in the northern state playoffs and Folsom beat Central 54-35 at Folsom. This year the big game is at Central.
The Bulldogs are loaded especially on offense. The QB is senior Kaiden Bennett, who has thrown for 3,717 yards and 56 TD passes. Kaiden has verbally committed to play at Boise State. RB is senior Daniyel Ngata, who has rushed for 739 yards rushing and has scored 10 TD’s. The Receivers are fast with senior Joe Ngata, who has caught 54 balls for 1,132 yards, with 20 TD’s and junior Elijhah Badger, who has caught 46 footballs for 943 yards and 17 TD’s.
The Grizzlies will have Central Section record holder in passing yards Trent Tompkins, who has thrown for 4,519 yards and with another record for TD passes with 60. Trent has verbally committed to play at UC Davis.
Trent’s receivers are juniors Jeremiah Hunter, who has 83 balls for 1,364 yards with 25 TD’s and Manuel Oliver-Davis who has caught 35 balls for 627 yards with 7 TD’s.
The X factor can the Grizzlies run the ball with Quali Conley who has rushed for 1,186 yards, scored 16 TD’s and has caught 36 balls for 736 yards and has scored 8 TD’s.
The HUGE X factor is the Central Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are a horrible first half team and if the Grizzlies come out slow like usual…..the Grizzlies have zero chance of winning because Folsom will play solid for 48 minutes.
If the Grizzlies crowd does their thing and Trent gets hot early, this could be a special Grizzlies night. I’m banking on Central starting strong and Trent showing that he is a top division 1 recruit playing in last home game.

Division 2-A Northern Section Championship Saturday 6pm
MEMORIAL PANTHERS (13-0) at TULARE UNION TRIBE (13-0)

The Winner plays the Lawndale Cardinals (13-2) for the Division 2-A State Championship at Cerritos College Saturday Dec 15 at 4pm
It’s the game that everybody wanted to see.
The first time in state history that we have two 11,000 yard passers battling in a game.
Memorial has Alec Trujillo, with 11,074 yards and 109 TD passes and Tulare Union has Nathan Lamb, who has 10,970 yards and 120 TD passes.
The Running backs are good with SJM Leonard Glass vs TU with David Dailey.
The Receivers are off the charts, SJM has Jalen McMillan (1,278 yards, 63 Receptions, 17 TD’s), Mac Dalena (938 yards, 48 Receptions, 14 TD’s) and Josh Kelly (927 yards, 49 Receptions, 15 TD’s)
The Tribe will have Darius Baker (1,445 yards, 85 Receptions, 24 TD’s) and Willie James (1,207 yards, 86 Receptions, 13 TD’s)
The X factor is the Union defense because the SJM defense is good.
Somebody is going to the state championship and will be 14-0 and the Pag Meter says it’s the visiting team.

Division 4-AA State Championship Saturday  6pm in Chico
CVC CAVALIERS (12-2) at PLEASANT VALLEY VIKINGS (9-3)

The Cavaliers have to travel all the way to Chico where there is no hotels and not much to do and play a division 2 team. The CIF blundered this one.
This is a battle of two very large and physical teams. The Vikings have senior QB Tanner Hughes who has thrown for 1,732 yards with 17 TD passes.
The X factor is both defenses are very good but the Pag Meter is betting on red hot Cavaliers RB Jaalen Rening and QB Eric Dragt. If the Cavaliers get off to good start then the long bus ride home will be real fun.

Division 6-AA State Championship Dec 15 6 pm
STRATHMORE SPARTANS (13-1) will play the winner of the Hilmar vs East Nicolaus on Saturday December 15 6pm. Site of game…Stay Tuned. (Hilmar is the heavy favorite to play Strathmore. Last year, Strathmore beat Hilmar 53-52 in double overtime in a NorCal play-in game.

This is the small speedy Tigers vs the big, speedy and physical Cavaliers. The Tigers haven’t played anybody as good as the Cavaliers! It’s that simple.
The Tigers come in beating the Central Spartans for the Division 3 San Diego Section championship 22-16
The Cavaliers beat the Golden West Trailblazers 49-14 to win the Central Section Division 4 Championship
The X factor is the CVC defense vs the speedy Tigers QB Shamar Martin. The Tigers run the Wildcat offense and can’t throw it over hand. I just don’t see the smaller Tigers defense hanging with red hot RB Jaalen Rening, QB Eric Dragt and WR/DB Brian Noel. The Tigers are a big play team.

Pag Meter almost nailed it. Big and speedy vs small and speedy wins every time.
Jaalen Rening rushed for 197 yards and scored 2 big TD’s on runs of 15 and 31 yards in the 4th quarter. Eric Dragt went 8-10 for 218 yards and fired 2 TD passes to Brian Noel on 53 and 42 yarders.
Division 4-AA Southern State Championship
KENNEDY THUNDERBIRDS (13-2) at GARFIELD BULLDOGS (13-1)

It’s the power Birds running Wing T vs the wild Dogs spread attack.
The X factor is the Birds defense vs the Wild Spread and the big plays. The Bulldogs have plenty of speed but have never seen a physical style like the Thunderbirds. The Bulldogs offense will look like disorganized but will break the long one at any moment. Real tough to defend.
Can the Birds power offense of Tyreak Walker who has rushed for 2,207 yards and scored 29 TD’s along with Yocanni Sandoval who has rushed for 1,260 yards, scored 20 TD’s do their thing?
The Thunderbirds move up into Division 4 and playing up.

The X factor is the Saints have no idea what they are getting into. The big Saints will get off the bus and will see the smaller Spartans but when it’s kicked off, the Saints will find out the Spartans are a bunch of mean, in your face, physical football players.

The defending state Champions Spartans took a 21-0 lead and never looked back. Alonso Acevedo rushed for 117 yards and scored a TD.
