The Grizzly Defense making a Statement

Central is 7-0 and are blowing out teams left and right. Everyone knows The Grizzly offense is unstoppable and has one of the most underrated QB’s ,Trent Tompkins, They also have a lot of playmakers on offense like Hunter, Grayson, Brown, Clements, and Conley. Central offense has scored 48 out of it’s 51 touchdowns this season through 7 games and that’s not their only impressive stat they also average nearly 550 yards per game.

Tompkins is 19th in the nation for passing yards and 4th in the state. Trent continues to put up amazing stats this season and continued building on that last week when Central faced Clovis High. Tompkins had a great game with 346 yards passing yards, 44 rushing yards, and 3 passing  touchdowns.

Centrals running game was finally up and running thanks to Tre Maxwell who had 9 carries for 122 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Quali Conley also chipped in with 58 rushing yards on 4 carries counted for 1 rushing touchdown, had 2 catches for 62 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Milton Clements had 3 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. The Grizzly defense continues to show up every week but how about this very good Grizzly defense. Central got to Isaiah Robles QB for Clovis High 7 times last week and pick off him 2 times one time by Tyrell Grayson the other INT went for a 50 yard pick 6 by Jekob Jones who also had a fumble recovery which was forced by Noah Gonzales who had 7 tackles as well.

The man who had a game to remember was Jim Kissling the Senior had 1.5 sacks and 10 tackles last week and just caused chaos for the Clovis High offense. One other player that is very slept on is CB Silas Proby who denied everything coming his way, Proby has great footwork and can play on any side of the field. Silas has shown why he is one of the best at the corner position and has received D1 interest from Nevada and Oregon State.

Central also gets Junior DT Ricky Correia the transfer from Edison High School who will play his first game as a Grizzly. Central faces a struggling Clovis North team this week. The keys in this game for Clovis North getting Central on a slow start and I mean bring all your biltz packages in the first quarter and all game long and hope to slow down Trent Tompkins.

For Central find their identity in the run game and getting off to a quick start. This game could get ugly but can Clovis North do the unthinkable Thursday night at home? Kickoff is at 7:30 at Clovis North.
