The Grizzlies Are Rolling

The Central Grizzlies are off to a good start and look to go 3-0 this week. Central is coming off a very big win against Grant (Sacramento) 54-12. The Grizzlies just ran away with this game in the second half out scoring grant 40-6. Central defense was the key to victory coming up with 5 sacks, 1 interception, and holding grant to 8 first downs.

Senior Dominic Mendez had a monster game with 13 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Sophomore Jekob Jones had a big game as well with 9 tackles and 1 interception. Junior Shando Lopez chipped in as well with 10 tackles and 1 sack. Central defense couldn’t have played any better in the second half and that just made life for the Grizzlies Offense a lot more easier. The Grizzlies offense put on a show in the 2nd half scoring 40 points.

Junior running back had steller game with 1 touchdown and 158 rushing yards on 13 carries. Senior QB Trent Tompkins was a touchdown machine counting for 6 total touchdowns, 5 touchdowns through the air, and 1 on the ground Trent threw for 193 yards and rushed for 58 yards. It was just another day at the office for Trent Tompkins who also broke the Central career passing record.

Junior WR Jeremiah Hunter had a huge game with 3 touchdowns on 4 catches for 87 yards. Senior Tyrell Grayson and Junior David Brown both counted for a touchdown each. The Grizzlies will face Whitney High (Rocklin) Friday night. The keys to this game can Whitney High find a way to move the ball and slow down the Grizzlies offense. For Central can they get off to a fast start and end this game early.
