Valley Champions for the 10th time finishing at 30-2. Pag Meter has the Cougars as the No 1 team in the state and No 3 in the country for public schools.
Clovis hit 31 home runs during the season, which is 10 more than the previous record set in 2016. Outstanding group of seniors.

DANIELLE LUNG, Sr, Clovis Cougars
Pag Meter Back to Back Player of the year!
Lung finished the year at 25-0 in leading the Cougars past Buchanan 6-3 in the valley championship game. Danielle won 3 valley championships in 4 years and in the first year as a freshman, Danielle fired a no-hitter in the valley championship in the win over Central. During Danielle’s 4 years, Clovis went 113-19. Her career stats are 91-9 record, 945 strikeouts, 133 walks, 39 shutouts, 648.3 innings pitched, 4 No- hitters, holding opponents to a 0.157 BA and an ERA of 0.99. Danielle Lung will go down as one of the greatest valley pitchers along with Amanda Scott and Jamie Southern of Clovis, Courtney Dale and Marissa Marzan of Bullard. Next stop for the All American will be at Fresno State. The Bulldogs softball program just turned into a National Contender with Danielle Lung!



CORINNE ACOSTA, Jr, Exeter Monarchs
Corinne is now the all time central section single season hit champion when she finished with 73 hits breaking Nikki Schrey of Edison in 2005 section record of 71 hits in a season. Acosta batting average finished at .664, 4 HR’s, 7 doubles, 8 triples, 40 stolen bases and has a 36 game hitting streak dating back to last year.



JANESSA JASSO, Jr, Dos Palos Broncos
One of the best pitchers in the state and will have the Broncos in line to win the section championship her senior year. Janessa finished the year at 25-3, with a 0.70 ERA. threw 169 1/3 innings with 299 strikeouts.
In 2 years, Janessa is 48-6, 0.69 ERA, 333 ⅓ innings pitched with 574 strikeouts. This year Jasso also hit. .422, with 2 home runs, 8 doubles and 26 RBIs. Janessa has verbally committed to play at Iowa State University and the Cyclones are getting a good one!


KRISTEN ARIAS, Sr, Edison Tigers
4 year starter as the Tigers catcher and in 4 years, she threw out 60 out of 79 base runners. The future San Jose St Spartan is the team leader behind the plate with a cannon for an arm. 2018 B’nai B’rith Edison representative hit .469, 9 doubles, 21 RBI’s.


MOLLY MILLAR, Buchanan Bears
4 years with the Bears and had one heck of a career. This year Molly went 20-3 with a 0.87 ERA. 145 innings pitched with 191 strikeouts. Next up Molly will be attending Stanford.


SYDNEY KUMA, Washington Union Panthers
Sydney set a school record by hitting her 10th home run of the season and will go down as the best Panther in school history. The future Georgia Bulldog hit .585, 8 doubles, 5 triples, 21 RBI’s and 43 stolen bases. In the circle, Sydney went 8-4 with a 1.63 ERA in 90 ⅓ innings with 175 strikeouts. Sydney will be in the running for 2019 Pag Meter Player of the year!


SYDNEY HORNBUCKLE, Stockdale Mustangs
The Mustangs will be very good in 2019 because ace Sydney is back and will only be a junior. She went 17-4 with a 0.80 ERA. 137 strikeouts in 140 ⅔ innings. Sydney has verbally committed to play at Colorado State

Outstanding year for the division 4 section champions. Fired a shutout in the championship game 6-0. On the year Brooklyn went 19-6 with a 1.09 ERA. The Monarchs will be very good the next 3 years!!



MIKE NOEL Clovis Cougars
Nike has now won 8 valley championship at Clovis and the Cougars 30-2 record gives them the best winning percentage for a season in school history at 938. The old record was set in 2002 at 38-3 (.927). That year, Clovis won 36 straight games. Coach Mike has turned the Clovis Cougars into the greatest softball program in valley history. Coach Mike has won 639 games.

CHAYNAU JOHNSON, Jr, Frazier Mountain Falcons
She would be a star in any league and in fact the High Desert league is to easy for Chaynau. She hit a whopping .699 with 13 doubles, 4 triples, 5 Homers, 38 RBI’s and 22 stolen bases. In the circle she went 20-6 with a 0.68 ERA. 145 innings pitched with 262 strikeouts.



SAMANTHA ALVAREZ, Sr, Kern Valley Broncs
Leaves her senior year in helping the Broncs win the division 5 section championship.
She hit .605, with 11 doubles, 7 triples, 6 Homers and a whopping 55 RBI’s.

ERIN ASKINS, Sr, Tehachapi Warriors
Erin set a school record by hitting her 14th home of the season. She hit .585 with 13 doubles, 3 triples, and 42 RBI’s. Askins finished her career with 22 home runs.

KAYLA BOWEN, Sr, Edison Tigers
One of the best power hitters in the valley and had to do some pitching for the Tigers.
Kayla help lead the Tigers to the division 2 section championship game. She hit .500 with 8 doubles, 2 triples, 11 home runs and 39 RBI’s. In the City-County All Star game, Kayla knocked in the game winner with a walk off RBI. Next stop will be playing at New Mexico State.

SHELBY BUCHANAN, So, Centennial Golden Hawks
A star was born this year after hitting .397, 9 doubles, 7 home runs and 26 RBI’s. The next 2 years will be fun to watch.

ARIANNA CASTILLO, Sr, Bullard Knights
The senior team leader that had one heck of a year for the CMAC Champions. Arianna hit .384 with 9 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home runs and 28 RBI’s.

CHLOE RIVAS, Sr, Monache Marauders
The best to ever play at Monache and Chole leaves with a section championship ring from last year. She hit .565 with 16 doubles, 4 triples, 4 Homers and 49 RBI’s. In the circle Chloe went 23-3 with a 1.62 ERA. 151 innings pitched with 244 strikeouts and the next stop will be at New Mexico State University.


HEATHER AYERZA, Jr, Clovis North Broncos
The TRAC leading hitter and one of the best outfielders in the valley for the Broncos. Heather is an outstanding athlete that is fast from the left side who hit .439 and also did a fantastic job in the circle. The Broncos are in good hands the next 2 years with Heather Ayerza.


AVERY FITCH, Sr, Chowchilla Tribe
Amazing hitter and a tremendous career for the Tribe. Avery hit .605 with 49 hits, 11, doubles, 3 triples, 2 homers, 18 walks and 32 RBI’s. Next stop will be playing at CSU Bakersfield.

BRIANNA ACOSTA, Jr, Highland Scots
She would be a star in any league in the valley. Avianna dominated the Southeast Yosemite League batting .427 with 5 doubles and knocked in 24 runs. In the circle she went 13-1 with a 1.98 ERA. Look out for the Scots in 2019 because Brianna will be back for her senior year.

JESSENIA CASTILLO, Sr, Monache Marauders
This lefty can flat out hit with a .641 average, 21 doubles, 6 triples, 5 Home runs, with 46 RBI’s. Next stop will be at the University of Detroit Mercy.

KELSEY VOLKMAR, Jr, Chowchilla Tribe
Outstanding at the plate and in the circle. She hit .372 with 29 RBI’s. Pitching she went 12-5 with 1.57 ERA. 98 innings pitched with 177 strikeouts


EMILY, CAZARES, So, Buchanan Bears

One of the best center fielders and has the best looking left handed swings in the valley.
Emily hit .436, 9 doubles, 7 triples, 2 home runs, 30 RBI’s. 16 stolen bases. She has already verbally committed to play at Tennessee. Hey little league softball players, take a look at Emily’s swing because it is real good! You won’t see that silly follow thru when the bat hit the back. Perfect swing!

ALY CERDA, Sr, Selma Bears
The senior leader at catcher will leave Selma with two division section championship rings. The Bears are the division 3 section champions and last year the Bears won the division 4 section championship. The outstanding hitter, selected 2nd team all-state and next stop will be at Holy Names University in Oakland.

REAGAN HAMILTON, So, Taft Wildcats
One of the best young catchers in the valley and has a real good bat hitting .528 with 10 doubles, 2 triples,5 Home Runs, scored 34 runs and 28 RBIs. The


KAITLYN COFFMAN, Sr, Mt Whitney Pioneers
One of the best hitters in the valley that is on a team that struggled for wins. She was walked 22 times and hit .620 with 5 doubles, 4 triple, 4 Home runs and 28 RBI’s.


COURTNEY BECKWITH, Sr, Bullard Knights

The team leader and one of the best defensive catchers in the valley with a very quick release.
Bullard High School’s 2018 FCA Athlete of the Year hit .338 with 6 doubles. Next stop will be at Vanguard.


SADI HARTMAN, Jr, Kern Valley Broncs
The big bat for the division 5 section champions. She hit .581, 13 doubles, 2 triples, 6 Home runs and 50 RBI’s. Watch out for 2019!

TAYA HERNANDEZ Jr, Madera Coyotes
Next year Taya’s stats will be off the charts. The CMAC All Star hit .513 with 7 doubles, 14 stolen bases, scored 23 runs and 24 RBI’s.

ALLISON HEFFLEY, Jr, Hanford West Huskies
Outstanding junior year hitting .549 with 16 doubles, 3 triples, 4 Home runs and 33 RBI’s.

EMILE HERNANDEZ, Jr, Redwood Rangers
Outstanding left handed hitter for the division 2 section champions hitting .426, with 13 doubles, 3 triples, 5 Home runs and 28 RBI’s.

TAYLOR BROOKS, Sr, Madera Coyotes
The senior dominated the bases with 29 steals . Taylor hit .474, scored 38 runs and played in the City-County All Star game.

Vanessa is the best defensive shortstop in the valley. The Apaches senior leader hit .506 with 10 doubles, 1 triple, 27 RBI’s, 4 Home runs (2 Grand Slams). Next stop will be at Fresno State. FSU is getting a good one and Pag Meter predicts that the Bulldog fans will love Vanessa and will crush the MWC!!

CHEYENNE HORNBUCKLE, Sr, Stockdale Mustangs
Outstanding career at Stockdale. The infielder hit .476 with 10 doubles and scored 31 runs.
Next stop will be at Kansas.

EMILY IBARRA, Jr, Redwood Rangers
Will be up for Pag Meter Player of the year in 2019. The team leader for the division 2 section champions hitting .459 with 10 doubles, 1 triple, 2 Home runs with 28 RBI’s. In the circle she went 10-3 with a 1.49 ERA.


AVERY LAWLEY, So, Buchanan Bears
One of the best young players in the state and only getting better. She hit .380 with 8 doubles, and 29 RBI’s. Avery has verbally committed to play at Fresno State.

JORDYN MACIAS, Sr, Hanford West Huskies

One of the best hitters in the state and had one heck of a Hanford West career.
This year she hit .486 with 36 RBI’s, 15 walks, 6 Home Runs (2 Grand Slams).
For Jordyn’s career, .449 Batting Ave, 159 hits, 127 RBI’s, 41 Walks. 23 Home Runs,(3 Grand Slams. Next stop will be Boise State.

MACI MARTIN, Fr, Coalinga Horned Toads

A star is born in Coalinga with Maci hitting .455, with 8 doubles, 6 Homers and 39 RBI’s.


One of the best power hitters in Clovis history. This year she hit 7 homers for the Valley Champions. In her career she ties the school with 19 home runs with teammate Emily Puente and Amanda Scott (1996). Leaves with 3 Valley Championship rings and next up will be at Sonoma State.

EMILY LIRA, Jr, Frazier Mt Falcons
One of the fastest players in the state that stole 54 out of 55 bases. Hit .593 with 6 doubles, 3 triples, 4 Homers and scored 44 runs.

EMMERSON LEE, So, Bullard Knights
Verbally committed to play at Boise State. One of the best young players in the valley. Hit .365 for the CMAC champions with 7 doubles, 2 Home runs and 21 RBI’s.

SIENNA MATHIS, Sr, Fresno High Warriors
Sienna flat out beat up the NYL and what a year she had! Sienna hit .554 with 9 doubles, 4 triples, 9 homers, 41 RBI’s and 54 stolen bases.

Outstanding career for the Apaches who had plenty of speed. The City-County All Star hit .512, with 4 doubles, 8 triples and 4 homers.

DESARAE MORENO, Sr, Bullard Knights
4 year starter and this year hit 418, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 2 Home runs with 26 RBI’s.

ASHLEY MCLRVIN, Jr, Tehachapi Warriors
Will be one of the best south valley hitters in 2019. She hit .386, with 8 doubles, 4 triples, 7 homers and 38 RBI’s.


TORI MUELLER, Sr, Clovis Cougars

Team leader and was outstanding infielder that will leave with 3 Valley Championship rings. Tori was fast and always getting on base for the big sluggers..Next up will be at the University of Massachusetts.

IZZY NIEBLAS, Jr, Stockdale Mustangs
One of the best in the south hitting 495 with 10 doubles, 1 triple, 2 Homers and 44 RBI’s.

VALERIE ORNELAS, So, Madera Coyotes
A future valley star. Val hit .421 with 10 doubles, 3 triples, 4 Home runs and 29 RBI’s.

ASHLEY PAZ, Jr, Selma Bears
One of the best Bear athletes in school history and will leave with 2 section championship rings

SAM ALVAREZ, Sr, Kern Valley Broncs
The High Desert League Player of the Year and was a big part of the division 5 section champions hitting .605, with 11 doubles, 7 triples, 6 Home runs and 55 RBI’s.


ALLIE PUENTE, So, Clovis Cougars

Outstanding sophomore year for the Valley Champions. Allie hit 7 Home runs and next year, she will be one of the best power hitters in the valley. By the time Allie is a senior she could break the home run record which is 19.

MARISSA GONZALEZ, So, Kingsburg Vikings
Tremendous sophomore year hitting .409 with 6 doubles, 4 triples, 4 homers and 34 RBI’s. Look for the these stat numbers to explode the next 2 years.

EMILY PUENTE, Sr, Clovis Cougars
Emily will leave Clovis with 3 valley championship Rings. She hit 9 Home runs and in her career she hit 19 Home runs which ties Amanda Scott (1996) for the school. Emily crushed a 3-run homer against the wind in the City-County All Star game. Next will be at Fresno State

The senior team leader was a speedster outfielder. She batted .449 batting with 8 doubles, 4 triples, 3 Homers, scored 33 runs, 15 stolen bases and knocked in 21 runs.

ANNI RALEY, Sr, Buchanan Bears
Has the best throwing arm behind the plate maybe ever in valley history. She hit .364, with 9 doubles, 1 triple and 2 homer. Next stop, Anni will be playing at Nebraska.


JAZZY CASTANEDA, So, Bullard Knights
The Knights ace will be one of the best in the valley the next 2 year. Went 20-6 with 1.99 ERA in 161 innings. Jazzy has already verbally committed to play at San Diego State
MIA REYNOLDS, Fr, Tulare Union Tribe
The Tribe are in good hands the next 3 years because they have a star. Mia’s ERA was 1.65, with 231 strikeouts in 153 innings.


DANI SALINAS, Sr, Garces Rams
Senior leader on a young team hitting .443, with 7 doubles, 8 Home runs and 31 RBI’s

KADYN SMITH, Fr, Bakersfield Christian Eagles
Runner up for Pag Meter Freshman of the year as she led the Eagles to the division 6 championship. In the circle Kadyn’s ERA was 1.12 and at the plate she hit .600, with 6 doubles, 2 triples, 7 Homers and 35 RBI’s.

Outstanding career for the City-County All Star. Her biggest game of the year was beating Bullard for the first time in 11 years with a complete game 3-2 win in the circle. Next stop will be Howard University.

TEYA VINCENT, Sr, Dos Palos Broncos
One of the best athletes to ever play at Dos Palos. The City-County All Star hit .451 with 7 doubles, 5 triples, 7 Home runs and 42 RBI’s.


HELEN HAYES, Jr, Kern Valley Broncs
The Broncs ace was awesome pitching KV to a division 5 section championship. Helen went 19-2 with a 0.67 ERA. Threw 126 innings with 232 strikeouts.

AUBRIE WALKER, So, Coalinga Horned Toads
Tremendous year going 7-0 with 1.78 ERA and hit .480 with 18 doubles and knocked in 28 runs.


DESTINY RICKS, Sr, Central Grizzlies
The City-County All Star went 13-9 with a 1.56 ERA in the Tough TRAC. 162 innings pitched with 192 strikeouts. Destiny will be playing her college softball at Texas Southern University!

KAILYN CASTLE, Fr, Monache Marauders
A true superstar was born this year for the Marauders. One of the best young lead off hitters in the valley and broke many Marauder freshman hitting records. She batted .506 with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 3 Home runs, scored 36 runs and knocked in 18 runs.


AARIYANNA EGAN, Sr, Independence Falcons
Very good senior year hitting .513 with 7 doubles, 3 triples, 3 Home runs, scored 32 runs and knocked in 22.


CLAIRE BUCKLEY, JR, Buchanan Bears
One of the best 2nd baseman in the valley and hit .466 with 5 doubles, 4 triples and 4 homers

MARISSA MONTELONGO So, Kingsburg Vikings
The Co-CSL Most Valuable Player hit .462 and ended the year on a 25-game hitting streak. She led the team with 41 hits and the next 2 years will be fantastic. She has verbally committed to play for Saint Mary’s.

Tremendous year hitting .467 with 14 doubles, 2 triples, 4 Home runs and 31 RBI’s.
