WSL Athletics Playoffs Edition, Quarterfinals Review & Semifinals Preview : “Eagles Fly High over Coalinga”

Firebaugh came into their home Quarterfinals game rested after having a 1st round bye due to being the 3rd Seed in Division 5. Firebaugh for the second time hosted the Coalinga Horned Toads when just two weeks ago they played and defeated Coalinga 26-19 to claim their 2nd WSL Title in 3 years and their 4th Overall League Title (NWSL & WSL) since 2004. Firebaugh were led by RB #1 Hunter Hogue, WR #5 Tylor Palmer, & QB #2 Jeshua Gutierrez. Firebaugh will now travel to face on #2 Seed Shafter Generals in their 2nd Semifinals Appearance On Friday Night. Winner will advance to the Division 5 Valley Championship against the winner of (1) Caruthers vs. (5) Yosemite in the other semifinals.

Coalinga came back to Firebaugh after their loss to them in the WSL Championship Game back on November 3rd in which Firebaugh won 26-19. Coalinga were projected to win by 7 but Firebaugh shut down those projections with a 26-0 win. Coalinga had a complete turnaround from last season when they finished 4-6 and this year finished 7-5 and runner-ups in WSL Play.
