PAG METER WEEK 11 FINALS
This might be the toughest week of all to pick a winner
So many big games and some are a flip of a coin.
BEST OF LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS!
Pag Meter went 44-2 in week 10 (Best week in 12 years) and for the year 381-54 (87%)
PAG METER WEEK 11 FINALS
THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FINALS
Woodlake Tigers (3-7) (0-5) at Granite Hills Grizzlies (8-2) (3-2)
Pag Meter line Granite Hills -34
The X factor is the Tigers season will end on Thursday night and the Grizzlies need to start playing good football again in a hurry.
Pag Meter Prediction Granite Hills 34 Woodlake 0
FINAL GRANITE HILLS 13 WOODLAKE 0
The Pag Meter called the shutout but the Grizzlies offense has struggled now for 3 straight weeks. Jasper Berumen scored on a 1-yard TD run and Seth Luna scored on a 33-yard TD run.
The Tigers season ends and Granite Hills get the No 2 seed in the division 6 playoffs and will host the Orosi Cardinals
Reedley Pirates (2-8) (2-3) at Sunnyside Wildcats (7-3) (5-0 NYL CHAMPIONS)
Pag Meter line Sunnyside -17
The Pirates are one of the most improved teams and Sunnyside is sandbagging in the NYL. Playing in the NYL might not help the Wildcats get ready for the division 2 playoffs.
Reedley has to win or they are out of the Tournament.
Pag Meter Prediction Sunnyside 37 Reedley 13
FINAL SUNNYSIDE 44 REEDLEY 7 (No Stats available)
The Pirates season ends and the Wildcats received the No 8 seed in the division 2 playoffs and will travel to Tulare Union and take on the Tribe in the Quarterfinals
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS FINALS
Edison Tigers (5-0 CMAC CHAMPIONS) (4-1) vs Bullard Knights (5-5) (4-1)
Pag Meter line Bullard -2
In the Crosstown Classic since 1959, Edison Tigers have won 31 games and the Bullard Knights have won 28 games. Now that’s a Rivalry!
This is the outstanding Tigers defense vs junior RB Marcus Fulcher and the Knights power offense. Marcus Fulcher rushed for 197 yards and scored 3 TD’s in the win over Memorial 32-24. Marcus needs 13 yards to break the underclassmen Knights rushing record of Charles Williams 1,426 yards for the year.
If the Knights win, they are the CMAC Champions. If the Tigers win then it looks like a 3 way tie with Sanger.
The X factor is the other side of the ball…the Tigers offense vs the Knights defense.
Can the Knights frustrate the Tigers? The Tigers can fall apart like a cheap suit at anytime. The Tigers lead the valley in personal foul penalties.
This game could be a defensive battle and come down to turnovers. This is one of the best Tigers team ever but making way too many mental mistakes especially on offense. The Tigers haven’t played great all year but they always play great against the Knights.
The Knights have to contain Mckinley Lee who has rushed for 885 yards. If the Knights can play smart Knights football….they win. Can the Knights wear down the great Tigers defense?
Pag Meter Prediction Bullard 22 Edison 20
FINAL EDISON 20 BULLARD 14
The Tigers are the CMAC Champions and now have won 32 Crosstown Classic games.
The Tigers defense was outstanding and came up big against the Knights
Teyjohn Herrington caught 2 TD passes from Jameson Silva and Mckinley Lee scored on a 3- yard TD run. The Knights trailed 20-0 and battled back. Kalei Acfalle threw 2 TD passes including a 28 yarder to Josh Kelly.
The Tigers get the No 6 seed and will play Clovis North at Sunnyside and the Knights received the No 8 seed and will play Sanger at McLane.
Madera South Stallions (1-9) (0-5) at Madera Coyotes (5-5) (1-4)
Pag Meter line Madera -10
This is the 10th annual Battle for the Saw.
The Coyotes lead the series 6-3 but the Stallions have won the last 2 games.
Both of these teams got crushed playing in the CMAC and you can’t go by the non league schedule to figure this game out. The Stallions have played the much tougher non league schedule and only has 1 win. The Coyotes come in with 4 wins. Madera South non league opponents went 29-18 and Madera’s opponents went 15-30. It might not mean much now especially after both teams played in the tough CMAC. And by the way…can we get both of these teams out of the CMAC!!! It’s Child Abuse!
In 2 years when the new Madera school goes in, that’s when Madera and Madera South moves into the North Sequoia.
OK back to the football game.
This game, you throw out the records because these kids all know each other. Madera stadium will be packed on Friday night.
The X factor is the Coyotes defense vs the Stallions offense. Both struggled in the CMAC.
The Coyotes come in with the best passing attack in the valley and leading the way is QB Colt Nelson who has throw for 2,609 yards and 20 TD passes.
Can the Stallions put pressure on the passing offense?
This game comes down to who wants it? If the Stallions can line up and play hard nose Stallions football, then they got a shot. All year the Stallions offense was more like a Donkey offense and not close to a Stallions offense. Last time I checked, a Stallion was a hard nose animal. The Stallions have won the last 2 years for a reason. Head coach of the Coyotes Yosef Fares has a big advantage over 1st year coach of the Stallions, Matt Johnson. If Matt can throw the last 9 weeks out the window….We got a ball game! Stay tuned! Madera South has to win or the season is over and no Tournament.
Pag Meter Prediction Madera 23 Madera South 20
FINAL MADERA 49 MADERA SOUTH 20 (No Stats available)
The Coyotes are now 7-3 in the battle of the Saw
The Pag Meter was thinking the Stallions defense could hang but the Coyotes passing attack was way too much.
The Stallions season comes to an end and the Coyotes received the No 8 seed and will host Mt Whitney in the division 3 playoffs.
Memorial Panthers (8-2) (3-2) at Sanger Apaches (8-2) (3-2)
Pag Meter line Sanger -21
This is one of the best Memorial teams in a long time and the Apaches have many new players but all the Apaches do is win week after week. It is truly amazing. This was going to be the year that the Panthers would finally win at least 3 games in the CMAC so can the outstanding Panthers offense get it done at Chuck Shidan field? Chuck Shidan field might be the toughest place to play in the valley and in front of Apaches nation.
The X factor is the Panthers defense going against Jalen Cropper and the Apaches offense. Sanger’s QB Blake Wolf should be back this week and that will open up the Apaches offense.
The Panthers offense is very good with QB Alec Trujillo who has thrown for 2,519 yards and 28 TD passes, Leonard Glass has now rushed for 1,048 yards for the season. Sophomore WR Jalen Mcmillan is a game time decision after suffering a mild concussion in the loss to Bullard on Friday night. Usually that is a 2 week injury.
Can the Panthers defense match up with the Apaches offense? The Apaches have the best fans in the valley and the place will be packed but for Memorial, they have the worst traveling fans maybe in the state.
Pag Meter Prediction Sanger 41 Memorial 20
FINAL MEMORIAL 35 SANGER 14
This was one of the best wins in Panthers history! Leonard Glass rushed for 126 yards and scored 4 TD’s and the Panthers did all this without star WR Jalen Mcmillan who didn’t play because of a concussion.
The Panthers received the No 2 seed in the division 3 playoffs and the Apaches received the No 9 seed in the division 1 playoffs and will play Bullard at McLane Stadium.
Centennial Golden Hawks (2-8) (1-4) at Frontier Titans (2-3)
Pag Meter line Frontier -17
The G Hawks are probably saying …hey we want to play in division 2 like Frontier. Centennial’s season will end after this game. The G Hawks just never put it all together.
The X factor is the Titans offense with running backs Tye Johnson and JJ Flores. The Titans are looking at a No 4 or 5 seed.
Pag Meter Prediction Frontier 34 Centennial 17
FINAL FRONTIER 37 CENTENNIAL 20
Tye Johnson rushed for 237 yards and scored 2 TD’s and the Titans defense held Centennial scoreless in the 2nd half after trailing 20-6 at halftime. Cody Hartsfield of Centennial had 160 yards from scrimmage (82 receiving, 78 rushing) and scored 2 TD’s.
The G Hawks season comes to an end and the Titans received the No 5 seed in the division 2 playoffs and will get a rematch in the division 2 playoffs.
Stockdale Mustangs (2-8) (0-5) at Garces Rams (4-6) (4-1)
Pag Meter line Garces -17
Don’t go by the Rams record because they are night and day better from a month ago. The Mustangs have struggled on both sides of the ball and just haven’t played great for 48 minutes.
The X factor is the Rams are healthy and should roll. The Rams are looking at the No 3 seed especially if El Diamante loses to Golden West. The Mustangs have to win or their season comes to an end.
Pag Meter Prediction Garces 37 Stockdale 20
FINAL GARCES 34 STOCKDALE 6
Red hot Isaiah Martin rushed for 214 yards and scored 2 TD’s and the Rams dominated on defense with scoring touchdowns on an interception return by Bryan Pantoja and a blocked punt return by Jackson Brooks.
The Mustangs seasons will come to an end and the Rams received the No 4 seed in the division 2 playoffs and will play Frontier.
Bakersfield Drillers (5-5) (3-2) at Liberty Patriots (6-4) (5-0 SWYL CHAMPIONS)
Pag Meter line Liberty -5
It seems like every year the SWYL championship comes down to Bakersfield vs Liberty.
Both teams are playing their best football in week 11.
South valley football is down a bit this year but both of these teams can beat anybody.
The X factor is the Patriots defense and if the Drillers hold on to the football.
Can the Drillers defense slow down the red hot Patriots offense with QB Isaiah Hill and RB Sam Stewart?
Can the Liberty defense contain red hot WR Tahj Wright?
The Drillers are a big play offense and if the Patriots can avoid the long TD play, the Patriots will be the SWYL Champions. If not the SWYL title will be a 3 way tie with Garces..
For the Drillers to win, they also need to play outstanding defense.
Pag Meter Prediction Liberty 30 Bakersfield 25
FINAL LIBERTY 27 BAKERSFIELD 24
The Patriots are the SWYL Champions! Sammy Stewart rushed for 178 yards and QB Isaiah Hill threw a TD and scored on a 11-yard TD run and the game winner.
The Patriots received the No 4 seed and get a rematch with the Drillers.
Clovis North Broncos (2-8) (1-4) at Buchanan Bears (8-2) (3-2)
Pag Meter line Buchanan -25
Battle of the Doc B Victory Bell
This game is getting personal with the players. The Broncos have lost a bunch of players to transfer and some have landed at Buchanan. The Broncos think that their friends have quit on them and jumped ship to Buchanan. This game alway has high intensity from the opening kickoff.
The X factor is the Broncos offense with red got WR Trenton Holloway who scored 3 TD’s in the loss to Clovis.
The Bears defense is very physical and the Broncos have their hands full.
Can the Broncos defense slow down running backs Kendall Milton and Trevor Ervin?
The Broncos are struggling on offense and need a huge game to hang with the Bears.
Pag Meter Prediction Buchanan 37 Clovis North 14
FINAL BUCHANAN 34 CLOVIS NORTH 7
Trevor Ervin scored 3 TD runs with TD runs of 7, 50, and 3 yards. Kendall Milton scored on a 51-yard TD run.
The Bears received the No 3 seed and get a bye and Clovis North received the No 11 seed and will play the Edison Tigers at Sunnyside.
Clovis East T Wolves (0-10) (0-5) at Central Grizzlies (10-1) (5-0 TRAC CHAMPIONS)
Pag Meter line Central -42
Thanks to Clovis Unified School district, the T Wolves have nothing to play for since the first game. CE should be playing in division 2 and maybe it would be fun for the players to look forward to something but instead CUSD makes the T Wolves play in division 1. CE will be 0-10 and it’s tough to build confidence in a program when kids are beat down everyday.
Frontier and Stockdale moved into division 2, and so should Clovis East. It’s a no brainer!
In week 11 the T Wolves have to close with the best team in the valley.
The T Wolves haven’t won a TRAC game since Oct 16, 2009 when they beat Clovis. 45 straight losses. The T Wolves have to win or the season ends.
Hey division 1……if Grizzlies QB Trent Tompkins, plays like he did in the win over Clovis West 40-13, the Central Grizzlies are winning their first Valley Championship in school history. Tompkins went 20-28 for 325 yards with 2 touchdowns, and rushed for 53 yards and scored on a 10 yard TD run. Receiver Jacob Torrez caught 7 footballs for 181 yards and 1 touchdown.
Pag Meter Prediction Central 49 Clovis East 7
FINAL CENTRAL 55 CLOVIS EAST 7
Javon Bigelow rushed for 167 yards and scored 3 TD runs with runs of 2, 24, and 71 yards. Trent Tompkins went 15-19 for 240 yards with 2 TD passes. (Avery Boyd 12 yards and Jeremiah Hunter 16 yards)
The T Wolves season ends and the Grizzlies get the No 1 seed in the division 1 playoffs.
Clovis West Golden Eagles (8-2) (4-1) at Clovis Cougars (6-4) (2-3)
Pag Meter line Clovis West -20
Range Rider Trophy
Clovis West leads the series 24-21. Clovis West won last season 41-28.
This used to be the biggest game of the year before the rest of the Clovis schools showed up.
The Golden Eagles come in and it’s gut check time after getting waxed by Central 40-13. Don’t go by the score because it wasn’t that close. The Grizzlies shut it down and could have been 75-0.
The Cougars come in after beating Clovis North 42-28.
The good news for the Golden Eagles is if you are going to get crushed, it’s good it happened now and not in the playoffs. Can CW learn from it?
The X factor is the Cougars matching up with the Golden Eagles speed. The Cougars are not a fast team so this should be interesting.
The Golden Eagles Kryptonite is playing against a team that runs down hill with a power running game and that’s not the Cougars. The Cougars will spread it out with QB Payton Mayer and try to finesse you. CW matches up very well with the Cougars.
Pag Meter Prediction Clovis West 40 Clovis 20
FINAL CLOVIS WEST 45 CLOVIS 21
The Golden Eagles now lead the series 25-21.
Rodney Wright had a night!! Rodney rushed for 89 yards and caught 10 passes for 118 yards, scored 4 TD’s, 3 rushing TD’s with runs of 1,4 and 1 yards and a caught a 27 yard TD pass. Dante Chachere scored on 1-yard TD run and threw 2 TD passes including a 21-yard TD pass to Ricardo Arias. Cougars QB Payton Mayer threw for 262 yards and 2 TD passes, each to Michael Machado and Reef Dove. The Golden Eagles received the No 2 seed and the Cougars get the No 7 seed and will host Ridgeview.
Fresno High Warriors (5-5) (3-2) vs Roosevelt Rough Riders (7-3) (4-1)
Pag Meter line Fresno High -3
This is the 89th Annual “Little Big” Pig game. Fresno leads Roosevelt 46-40-2. Last season, The Warriors defeated the Rough Riders 49-14. So much tradition with these two programs.
For sometime, this game was more like a pillow fight than a football game but this year both teams come in very even and very good.
The X factor is the Rough Riders defense against the Warriors offense.
This game could come down to the final minutes.
Pag Meter Prediction Fresno High 23 Roosevelt 20
FINAL ROOSEVELT 36 FRESNO HIGH 20 (No stats available)
The Rough Riders received the No 8 seed in the division 4 playoffs and will play Exeter. Fresno High received the No 13 seed and will play at Independence in the division 3 playoffs.
Hoover Patriots (2-8) (1-4) at McLane Highlander (0-10) (0-5)
Pag Meter line Hoover -24
The Patriots head coach Justin Nast started at Hoover later than any other coach in the valley when the old coach quit during the summer. The Patriots have some talent and ready to explode.
The X factor is the Patriots offense is much better than the Highlanders offense.
Pag Meter Prediction Hoover 44 McLane 20
FINAL HOOVER 60 MCLANE 28 (No stats available)
The season ends for both teams
CVC Cavaliers (8-2) (3-2) vs Immanuel Eagles (4-5) (1-4)
Pag Meter line CVC -20
Immanuel leads the series 13-12. CVC won the game last year 41-34 and has won 7 straight.
The Eagles are battling in the real tough CSL league and will be ready for the division 5 playoffs.
CVC should be the No 1 or No 2 seed in the division 4 playoffs.
CVC, QB JJ Lino, completed 21-of-31 passes for 301 yards and 2 TD’s in the loss to Dinuba.
Pag Meter Prediction CVC 36 Immanuel 16
FINAL IMMANUEL 27 CVC 21
The UPSET of the night and one of the best wins in Eagles history. Derek Wood scores with 5 minutes to go and the game winner.
The Eagles received the No 5 seed in the division 5 playoffs and will play at Yosemite and the Cavaliers received the No 2 seed in the division 4 playoffs.
Dinuba Emperors (9-1) (5-0 CSL CHAMPIONS) at Exeter Monarchs (5-5) (1-4)
Pag Meter line Dinuba -30
The Emperors are the CSL champions but I would bet that if you asked the Dinuba team, they would say…we can play better. Dinuba RB Alek Marroquin, rushed for 117 yards in the win over CVC. The Monarchs have played a tough schedule.
The X factor is this would be a GREAT win for the Monarchs.
Pag Meter line Pag Meter Prediction Dinuba 44 Exeter 14
FINAL DINUBA 35 EXETER 0
Josh Magana threw 4 TD passes and the Emperors defense is back playing Dinuba football.
The Emperors received the No 2 seed in the division 2 playoffs and will host Lemoore. Exeter received the No 9 seed in the division 4 playoffs and will play Roosevelt Friday at Sunnyside.
Kingsburg Vikings (6-4) (2-3) at Selma Bears (8-2) (3-2)
Pag Meter line Kingsburg -3
Fire Hydrant Trophy (This is the 85th meeting)
Kingsburg and Selma have met since 1922, with Kingsburg leading the series 47-35-2.
This is one of the greatest rivalries in the valley. The Bears crushed the Vikings last year 48-14. The Vikings sure remember that game.
The X factor is the Vikings RB Bo Jackson vs Bears QB Junior Ramirez.
The big difference is this Bears team is not half as good as it was last year.
The Bears will ride Junior Ramirez as long as they can.
All time record…Kingsburg has won 536 career games and Selma just won their 500th game.
Pag Meter Prediction Kingsburg 28 Selma 25
FINAL SELMA 27 KINGSBURG 0
The Bears proved the Pag Meter wrong and crushed the Vikings in the 85th meeting. Junior Ramirez rushed for 145 yards, scored 2 TD’s on runs of 2, 26 yards and hit Brian Ching on a 34-yard TD pass. Chris Romero scored on a 7-yard TD run and the Bears defense stuffed the Vikings. The Vikings haven’t beaten the Bears since David Steele left Kingsburg 3 years ago. Steele was 7-0 vs Selma.
The Bears received the No 3 seed in the division 4 playoffs and the Vikings received the No 6 seed in the division 3 playoffs and will host Chowchilla.
Sierra Pacific Golden Bears (4-6) (3-2) at Corcoran Panthers (1-9) (1-4)
Pag Meter line Sierra Pacific -17
Battle of 43
Sierra Pacific and Corcoran will meet for the 6 time since the rivalry started.
Don’t go by the Golden Bears record because this team is red hot and playing great on both sides of the ball.
Sierra Pacific has to win or they are out of the Tournament. Corcoran will not enter.
The young Panthers had injuries and never got the 2017 season going. Corcoran will be much better next year and I see a team working hard in the off season…
Pag Meter Prediction Sierra Pacific 33 Corcoran 16
FINAL SIERRA PACIFIC 49 CORCORAN 21 (No stats available)
The Golden Bears have now won 3 straight games.
The Panthers season comes to an end and the Golden Bears received the No 7 seed and will travel to Rosamond in the division 6 playoffs. (Pag Meter had Sierra Pacific at the No 6 seed)
Strathmore Spartans (10-0) (5-0 ESL CHAMPIONS) at Lindsay Cardinals (4-6) (3-2)
Pag Meter line Strathmore -33
Battle of the Bell
This is the 94th time Strathmore and Lindsay will play. Strathmore won last year 35-0.
The Cardinals can be the ESL Champions if they can pull the huge upset.
The Spartans have won 20 straight central section games and it should be Blackjack…21.
Pag Meter Prediction Strathmore 47 Lindsay 14
FINAL STRATHMORE 56 LINDSAY 14
The Spartans have now won 21 straight games and win the Battle for the Bell in the 94th meeting. Joseph Garcia rushed for 121 yards and scored 4 touchdowns. Salas completed 8 of 10 passes for 142 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Spartans are the No 1 seed in the division 6 playoffs and will host Orange Cove. Lindsay received the No 11 seed in the division 5 playoffs and will play at Coalinga.
Crazy, Strathmore beats up Lindsay and Lindsay has to play in division 5.
McFarland Cougars (3-7) (0-3) at Farmersville Aztecs (3-7) (1-2)
Pag Meter line Farmersville -20
The Aztecs QB Victor Castrejon, is real good. Castrejon accounted for 305 yards of total offense (213 passing, 92 rushing) and 3 TDs in the Aztecs’ 35-28 loss to Orange Cove. The Cougars have lost 6 straight but played much better in the loss to North 20-14. The Aztecs will not enter the tournament.
Pag Meter Prediction Farmersville 34 McFarland 14
FINAL FARMERSVILLE 41 MCFARLAND 14 (No stats available)
Both teams season ends
Orange Cove Titans (3-7) (2-1) at Orosi Cardinals (7-3) (3-0 ESL CHAMPIONS)
Pag Meter line Orosi -19
The winner wins the East Sierra league championship.
The Cardinals come in more balanced on both sides of the ball.
Pag Meter Prediction Orosi 37 Orange Cove 18
FINAL OROSI 35 ORANGE COVE 12 (No stats available)
The Cardinals are the East Sierra League Champions!
Orange Cove received the No 8 seed in the division 6 playoffs and will play at Strathmore. Orosi received the No 5 seed and will play at Granite Hills in the division 6 playoffs
Mission Oak Hawks (0-10) (0-5) at Delano Tigers (5-4) (3-2)
Pag Meter line Delano -17
The Tigers are playing their best football heading into the playoffs. New head coach Mario Abundez and his staff, has done such an amazing job with a young team. Mission Oak will not enter the tournament.
Pag Meter Prediction Delano 30 Mission Oak 13
FINAL DELANO 27 MISSION OAK 23 (No stats available)
The Hawks season come to an end and the Tigers received the No 7 seed and will host Wasco.
Monache Marauders (3-6) (2-3) vs Porterville Panthers (3-6) (1-4)
Pag Meter line Monache -3
This is a playoff game before the playoffs start. The winner plays next week and the loser turns in their pads and helmet.
The Pag Meter gives the edge to the Marauders and the tough schedule they played. The winner is in and loser is out of the playoff/tournament.
Pag Meter Prediction Monache 30 Porterville 27
FINAL MONACHE 35 PORTERVILLE 9 (No stats available)
The Panthers season comes to an end and the Marauders received the No 12 seed and will play in Liberty Ranchos vs the Liberty Madera Hawks in the division 4 playoffs.
Tulare Western Mustangs (9-1) (4-1) at Tulare Union Tribe (10-0) (5-0 CHAMPIONS)
Pag Meter line Tulare Union -10
It’s the 53rd annual Bell Game and the biggest Bell game EVER.
Tulare Union leads the series 37-15
The winner is also the EYL Champions!
Both teams have never been 9-0 at the same time. The Stadium will be rocking with 2 of the best teams in the valley.
If both teams played in division 2, they would both enter the playoffs at the No 1 and No 2 seed.
Both of these teams have smoked everybody getting to 9-0. Each team was tested only one.
TW beat Redwood 14-7 on Sept 15th and Tulare Union beat Dinuba 69-47 on Sept 29th.
Last year the Mustangs came in thinking they had a shot at the crosstown rivals but lost 48-27. The Mustangs played timid and didn’t attack.
The X factor is the amazing TU offense with Kazmeir Allen, (1,802 rushing yards) who leads the nation with 48 total TDs, QB Nathan Lamb, (2,595 passing yards, 27 TD passes) and record breaking WR Emoryie Edwards, (66 passes for 1,323 yards, 11 TD’s) vs the outstanding Mustangs defense which is so good.
The Mustangs offense is also so dangerous with all world David Alcantar who has rushed 1,205 yards, caught 22 passes for 377 yards, and has scored 26 totaled TD’s. QB Elijah Burrell has done such a great job running the offense. TW will need a good game from their sophomore.
This game will be won or lost on how the defensive front seven plays.
Will the Mustangs learn from last year and come out and play Mustangs hard-ass football?
If TW wins this game they will need to play their game, shut up, and hit somebody and head back to the huddle. Tulare Union has already started the trash talking and the Red Tribe wants to get in the Mustang players heads so they get off their game. It can’t happen so quickly and TU can put up 21 points in a blink of an eye……stay focused orTU will run the Mustangs right out of the stadium.
The easy call would be is to take the team that is favored but in a game like this, the Pag Meter has this feeling that the TW defense will come up with some big stops. Both teams have crushed the weaker teams in the EYL so how will each team handle the pressure in the moment? That is huge!
TW offense has to hold serve and score almost every time they have the ball. Can the Mustangs learn from last year?
Pag Meter Prediction (UPSET PICK) Tulare Western 43 Tulare Union 41
FINAL TULARE UNION 62 TULARE WESTERN 41
The Tribe are the EYL Champions! The Pag Meter thought this would be close but the Mustangs has no answers for the leader in the clubhouse for the Pag Meter player of the year, Kazmeir Allen. Kaz rushed for 310 yards, with 5 rushing TD’s, (5, 85, 3, 2, and 1 yard), caught 7 passes for 235 yards and 2 TD’s for a total of 7 TD’s.
The Tribe will be the No 1 seed in the division 2 playoffs and will host Sunnyside in the quarterfinals. Tulare Western received the No 1 seed in the division 3 playoffs.
California City Ravens (5-5) (1-2) at Kern Valley Broncs (2-8) (0-3)
Pag Meter line Cal City -3
Cal City has to win to play in the tournament and the Broncs season will end after this game. The Broncs just never got it going. KV should come out and play hard especially the seniors.
Pag Meter Prediction Cal City 21 Kern Valley 17
FINAL CAL CITY 13 KERN VALLEY 0 (No Stats available)
The Ravens received the No 6 seed and will play at Riverdale. The Broncs season ends.
Kerman Lions (9-1) (4-0 CHAMPIONS) at Washington Union Panthers (2-8)(1-2)
Pag Meter line Kerman -28
The Lions are the North Sequoia league champions for the first time since 2002.
The Panthers have plenty of talent but it never showed up and I can’t figure out why??? There is no way the Panthers should be 2-7. The Panthers will not enter the Tournament.
The Lions come in beating up LIberty Madera 56-26.
Chris Acosta, scored a career high of 5 touchdowns, one on a 18-yard TD reception and 4 on runs of 7, 28, 9 & 21 yards. Chris rushed for 185 yards. QB Sean Chambers, had his best night going 10 of 11 for 221 yards passing and 3 touchdowns, rushed for 146 yards on 14 carries and scored 2 touchdowns.
The Lions are looking for a high seed in the playoffs and they have to take care of business.
Hey division 4, I realize everybody is talking about Golden West and CVC….You better start paying attention to the Lions!! They have the talent to win it all.
Pag Meter Prediction Kerman 42 Washington Union 14
FINAL WASHINGTON UNION 49 WASHINGTON UNION 0
Sean Chambers rushed for 160 yards and scored 4 TD’s including a 46 yard interception return. Chambers also threw 2 TD passes and both went to Charlie Castellanos, 33 and 23 yards. Chris Acosta rushed for 96 yards.
Chowchilla Redskins (5-5) (2-2) at Liberty Madera Hawks (8-2) (3-1)
Pag Meter line Liberty Madera -21
The Hawks come in after losing to Kerman 56-26 and I’m thinking they will want to take care of business. The Tribe is a bit down especially on defense.
Pag Meter Prediction Liberty Madera 43 Chowchilla 22
FINAL LIBERTY MADERA 35 CHOWCHILLA 0
Hawks scoring- Wyatt Roth 56 yard TD pass from Greyson Hoelzel: Colton Cardoza TD pass from Greyson Hoelzel : Greyson Hoelzel 17 yard interception return: Wyatt Roth 1 run: Kaleb Roth 12 yard TD run.
The Tribe received the No 11 seed and will play at Kingsburg in the division 3 seed. The Hawks received the No 5 seed in the division 4 playoffs and will host Monache.
Chavez Titans (0-9) (0-6) at Arvin Bears (2-7) (1-5)
Pag Meter line -18
Somebody will get their first win in league play and both teams will not enter the tournament.
This should be a good game.
Pag Meter Prediction Arvin 31 Chavez 13
FINAL ARVIN 44 CHAVEZ 20 (No stats available)
Both teams season ends
