PAG METER WEEK 10 FINAL SCORES

PAG METER went 39-5 in week 9, for the year 337-52 (86%)

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FINALS

TRAC SHOWDOWN on 940 ESPN RADIO 6:45 Pregame show
No 1 Central Grizzlies (8-1) (4-0 TRAC CHAMPIONS) vs No 2 Clovis West Golden Eagles (7-2) (3-1) at Lamonica
Pag Meter line Central -7
The TRAC showdown and the winner will be in the driver’s seat to be the champion and the No 1 seed in the valley championship division of the playoffs. BIG GAME!!!!
If Clovis West wins then that would mean if there is a rematch it would be played at the choppy/Ugly playing field of Buchanan. The field is a mess!
If Central wins then that means the rematch would be at the fast track field turf at Central, and in front of the best home crowd in the valley! Huge difference!
The Grizzlies have a dynamic offense and leading the way is the best QB in the valley with junior Trent Tompkins who has thrown for 2,124 yards with 23 TD passes. The gunslinger has some outstanding wide receivers with Jacob Torrez (42 catches, 772 yards, 8 TD’s), Jeremiah Hunter (29 catches 393 yards, 4 TD’s) Tyrell Grayson (17 catches, 285 yards, 3 TD’s) and Avery Boyd (24 catches, 336 yards, 6 TD’s). RB Javon Bigelow is one of the best in the valley.
The Golden Eagles QB Dante Chachere is so much better than expected at this time and making the right reads and hitting all the playmakers. Leading the way are Rodney Wright, Nick Coleman, Gabe Solorio, and Jayden Helms.
The Golden Eagles have one of the best wide receivers in the valley with Ricardo Arias. CW has to get Arias going early because he is such a big target.
The X factor is the defensive side of the ball for both teams. The Grizzlies will have linebacker Tre Walker roaming the middle. Can the Golden Eagles run the ball between the tackles when they need to?
The Golden Eagles won’t have Pag Meter All Star linebacker DJ Schramm but will have brother Dusty and keep an eye on Brock Lowe who will be at linebacker.
Can the Golden Eagles slow down the Grizzlies running game?
Can the Golden Eagles offense spread it out and make it happen?
Pag Meter Prediction Central 35 Clovis West 28

Final Central 40 Clovis West 13

Football is all about matchups and this was a horrible matchup for the Golden Eagles. This was a beat down. Diotry Brewer scored 3 TD’s. Trent Tompkins scored on a 10 yard TD run and threw 2 TD passes. (Manuel Oliver-Davis with a 14 yard and Jacob Torrez 80 yards). The Grizzlies are the TRAC Champions!

EAST YOSEMITE
No 7 Tulare Western Mustangs (9-0) (4-0) vs Monache Marauders (2-6) (1-3)
at Granite Hills7:15pm
Pag Meter line Tulare Western -28
The Mustangs are one week away from the biggest Bell game ever. If the Mustangs take care of business this week, they will be 9-0 playing the Tribe at 9-0.
The Mustangs have David Alcantar (996 yards rushing, 359 yards receiving, 24 total TDs) who is the go to guy. QB Elijah Burrell (1,536 yards passing, 15 TD’s), is so good in leading the TW offense. Elijah’s favorite receiver is Keshon Butler (32 receptions, 887 yards, 9 TDs).
The X factor is the Mustangs need to focus and play TW football. Not a time to get into some bad habits. This game might be a little closer in score if the Mustangs shut it down early.
Pag Meter Prediction Tulare Western 41 Monache 13

Final Tulare Western 57 Monache 6

David Alcantar with a huge game! Alcantar totaled 209 yards rushing and for the year he has rushed for 1,250 yards. Alcantar also scored on a 43-yard run and returned a kickoff 90 yards for another TD.  He finished with 385 all-purpose yards (209 yards rushing, 18 yards receiving, 116 kick return yards, 42 punt return yards).

NORTH YOSEMITE
Roosevelt Rough Riders (6-3) (3-1) vs McLane Highlanders (0-9) (0-4)
Pag Meter line Roosevelt-36
The Rough Riders play everybody close but in the battle of Cedar, the Riders will roll.
Pag Meter Prediction Roosevelt 41 McLane 6

Final Roosevelt 58 McLane 14 (No stats Available)

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS FINAL SCORES

CMAC
Madera South Stallions (1-8) (0-4) vs No 11 Edison Tigers (5-4) (3-1)
Pag Meter line Edison -48
Matt Johnson gets to face his old team. The Stallions and Matty J are building a football foundation and the Tigers have so much talent it’s scary.
This was the Tigers team that Matt was telling everybody about 2 years ago that has a chance to be better than the valley championship Tigers team of 2014. Well that’s not going to happen especially since Matt is now at Madera South. The Tigers lack leadership. They have plenty of division 1 talent but are missing the team concept.
The Stallions should not be playing in the CMAC.
It’s really simple to figure out….if Sanger, Bullard or even Edison split their schools up like the Madera schools had to do, could they compete in the CMAC? Zero chance. Madera and Madera South will never win a league game unless it’s major fluke or against each other. Only one win in the CMAC. (Madera beat Bullard 32-31 in 2014)
Edison comes off a horrible loss to Sanger and Madera South lost to Bullard.
The X factor is the Tigers will roll.
Pag Meter Prediction Edison 48 Madera South 0

Final Edison 54 Madera South 0 (No Stats available)

No 12 Memorial Panthers (7-2) (2-2) vs No 9 Bullard Knights (5-4) (4-0)
Pag Meter line Bullard -11
This is the battle of the big brother vs the little brother because some of the players have grown up with each other.
The Panthers come in with one of the best offenses in the valley. Leading the way is QB Alec Trujillo who has thrown for 2,312 yards and 27 TD passes, Leonard Glass has now rushed for 1009 yards for the season and sophomore WR Jalen Mcmillan.
The Knights will lead with one of the best running backs in the valley with junior Marcus Fulcher who has rushed for 1,233 yards and has scored 15 TD’s. Marcus gets better and better as the game goes on.
The X factor is the Knights have the much better defense and if the Panthers win this game, it could be in a shootout.
The Knights have played a killer schedule and are battle tested playing all the big boys. This should be a good game. It is Bullard’s homecoming. McLane Stadium should be rocking.
Can the Panthers slow down Marcus Fulcher?
Pag Meter Prediction Bullard 38 Memorial 27

Final Bullard 32 Memorial 24

Marcus Fulcher rushed for 197 yards and scored 3 TD’s. Marcus needs 13 yards to break the underclassmen rushing record of Charles Williams 1,426 yards for the year.

(No stats available for SJM)

No 10 Sanger Apaches (8-1) (3-1) at Madera Coyotes (4-5) (0-4)
Pag Meter line Sanger -24
The Coyotes just like the Madera South Stallions should not be playing in the CMAC. It’s a very slim chance that they can win a game in league play. Between them, they have won 1 game since both teams enter the CMAC.
The Apaches come in after beating up the talented Edison Tigers 27-20. The Apaches flat out wanted it more. The Coyotes didn’t even show up in the loss to Memorial 54-19.
The X factor is the Coyotes defense matching up with the Apaches offense. If the Coyotes played their all time A game, they can win. The Coyotes would love to copy the Apaches football program.
This is the Apaches dangerous QB Jalen Cropper vs the junior QB Colt Nelson who has thrown for 2,315 yards with 18 TD passes.
Pag Meter Prediction Sanger 38 Madera 14

Final Sanger 35 Madera 14

Scoring-Sanger- Josiah Lopez caught a 28 yard TD pass from Jalen Cropper. Jalen Cropper scored on a  49 yard TD run. Orlando Douglas scored on a 13 yard TD runs. Madera- K’Veon Jones caught a 7 yard TD pass from Colt Nelson. Sanger- Ricky Moreno scored on a 1 yard TD run. Orlando Douglas scored on a 1 yard TD run. Madera- K’Veon Jones caught a 21 yard TD pass from Colt Nelson.

Jalen Cropper rushed for 187 yards

SOUTHWEST YOSEMITE
Stockdale Mustangs (2-7) (0-4) at No 6 Bakersfield Drillers (5-4) (3-1)
Pag Meter line Bakersfield -28
Are the Drillers back playing Drillers football? I think so and they love the new Griffith field.
The Mustangs play tough football but are making way too many mistakes.
Forget about what people say about the up and downs of Drillers offense…they are missing a leader in the huddle. Maybe they have found their guy with Caden Ochoa who is steady and doesn’t makes mistakes. The Drillers can win it all with Ochoa.
The X factor is the Drillers and just when you think they are back, they play horrible. Can they take care of business and get on a streak for next week vs Liberty? Stay tuned.
Pag Meter Prediction Bakersfield 35 Stockdale 7

Final Bakersfield 35 Stockdale 9 (Pag Meter almost nailed the score)

The Drillers defense stays hot and  Tahj Wright caught 3 passes for 123 yards, including scoring strikes of 44 (from Caden Ochoa) and 74 yards (from Cam Williams). Tahj also scored on a 8 yard TD run.

No 17 Garces Rams (3-6) (3-1) at No 18 Frontier Titans (7-2) (1-3)
Pag Meter line Garces-2
The SWYL game of the week. This is a big game for the division 2 playoff seedings.
The X factor is the Rams defense and can they slow down the Titans running game of Tye Johnson and J.J. Flores? Can the Titans slow down the red hot Isaiah Martin?
The Rams have played the much tougher schedule and should be the difference.
Pag Meter Prediction Garces 29 Frontier 27

Final Garces 17 Frontier 7

Rams, Isaiah Martin rushed for 88 yards and scored a TD. QB Joseph Campbell completed 7 of 22 passes for 132 yards and a score a TD. Titan running back Tye Johnson rushed for 126 yard and scored a TD.

No 5 Liberty Patriots (5-4) (4-0) at Centennial Golden Hawks (2-7) (1-3)
Pag Meter line Liberty -25
The Patriots are back healthy and playing Patriots football again. The Patriots need to be healthy to have a good playoff run with so many playing both ways. Good old high school football when you watch the Patriots. The Golden Hawks just never got it going and they are a team with some talent that hasn’t put it all together. Could they have a breakout game? You just know that the Patriots are looking to next week’s big game vs Bakersfield.
The X factor is the Golden Hawks defense and boy they are struggling.
Pag Meter Prediction Liberty 39 Centennial 14

Final Liberty 35 Centennial 0

Sammy Stewart rushed for 134 yards, Isaiah Hill threw for 202 yards and the defense held the G Hawks to 147 yards of offense.

TRAC
No 4 Buchanan Bears (7-2) (2-2) vs Clovis East T Wolves (0-9) (0-4) Pag Meter line Buchanan -39
Have the Bears found a passing game? We know they found their top receiver with Jack Wilkins who caught 9 passes for 198 yards and 2 TD’s in the win over Clovis 55-21. Running backs Trevor Ervin, Kendall Milton and the fantastic Bears offensive line will do their thing so for the Bears to make noise in the playoffs, they have to be able to throw the ball overhand. Will the Bears rotate QB’s with Ty Hall and Carson Bailey? Probably but in the history of football, that concept has never worked.
The T Wolves haven’t won a TRAC game since Oct 16, 2009 when they beat Clovis. 44 straight losses.
Pag Meter Prediction Buchanan 46 Clovis East 7

Final Buchanan 41 Clovis East 21

Bears QB Ty Hall threw three TD passes. Josh Huddleston caught 2 TD passes. Kendall Milton scored on a beautiful 80-yard TD run and Trevor Ervin scored 2 TD’s including a  63 yarder.

No 8 Clovis Cougars (6-3) (2-2) vs Clovis North Broncos (2-7) (1-3)
Pag Meter line Clovis -9
Very interesting game. The Cougars still hang in the Pag Meter Top 10 losing to No 1 and No 2 teams in the valley but clearly have lost the magic since QB Payton Mayer went down. The good news is Payton will start this week. The outstanding Cougars defense is getting shredded. What’s up with that? The Cougars came in with zero depth on both sides of the ball. Cole Roberts is done for the year with a broken Tibia. Look for Zack Anderson to be the main running back.
The Broncos come in with an offense REALLY struggling and it’s painful to watch and the defense banged up but back and healthy is team leader Noah Riley.
The X factor is the struggling Cougars defense vs a struggling Broncos offense.
Pag Meter Prediction Clovis 23 Clovis North 14

Final Clovis 42 Clovis North 28

The Cougars did what they had to do to get a W.

Reef Dove scored on a 12-yard TD run. Jonathan Johnson scored on a 3 yard TD run. Jason Hunt scored on a 2 yard TD run. The Cougars didn’t need the offense to score in the 2nd quarter. Grant Lake and Wade Hess picked off passes and took them back for TD’s, Matthew Sanchez returned a kickoff for an 89 yard TD. The Broncos Trenton Holloway scored 3 TD’s, 73 and 12 yard touchdown catches from DJ Frampton and also picked up a 77-yard fumble recovery for a TD. Jackson Schultz scored on a 9 yard TD run.

CENTRAL SEQUOIA
No 14 CVC Cavaliers (8-1) (3-1) at No 13 Dinuba Emperors (7-1) (4-0 CSL Champions
Pag Meter line Dinuba -11
The CSL league championship.
The Caves offense is so good and they will be playing against the best defense they will see by far all year. CVC will lead with QB JJ Lino and sophomore running back Jaalen Rening.
The X factor is the Cavaliers have to play the perfect game to beat the bigger and physical Emperors. It’s been a long time since CVC beat Dinuba.
Dinuba comes in after beating Kingsburg 27-24 but was looking to this game. Lucas Tuttle scored the game winning 2-yard TD in overtime. Dinuba is a much different team in front of the home folks.
Pag Meter Prediction Dinuba 41 CVC 30

Final Dinuba 27 CVC 22 ( The Emperors are the CSL Champions!)

Dinuba win the CSL after beating CVC. They win because they beat CVC head to head if there is a tie breaker. Pag Meter rule, if you only play somebody once then the head to head is a tie breaker.

Pag Meter line Strathmore-19

Both offenses are very good running the football.
The Hawks are led by the Roth boys with Kaleb (1,107 rushing yards/19 TD’s) and Wyatt (952 rushing yards/12 TD’s)
The Lions have plenty of weapons with QB Sean Chambers (1,008 rushing yards/11 TD’s), Chris Acosta (799 rushing yards, 7 TD’s), Colton Smith (405 rushing yards, 9 TD’s) and Isaac Velez (405 rushing yards/6 TD’s)

The Redcats haven’t won a big game yet this year against a good team and the Cowboys are good.
The X factor is the Redcats defense and can they slow down the power running game of Maggini, Fullback Jo Jo Piceno, RB’s Johnny Solorio, and Fernando Zarate?
