Despite a couple of miscues against Sierra, they commanded in what was a blowout from the start, dominating in the mountains 42-0.  Kerman had a dominant running game, with Christopher Acosta and Colton Smith having 3 combined touchdowns and 124 rushing yards.  Colton contributed on special teams too, returning a blocked punt by Matthew Limon to the house.  But Kerman’s biggest contributor to the cause was Sophmore Linebacker Tyler Wright Celaya.  He lead the defense with many stops on defense, racking up a season high in tackles (13).  Then he contributed on the offensive end, getting a carry on the goal line with a 1-yard touchdown run at Fullback.

However, Kerman has to shift to another gear this week, as they are playing for the North Sequoia League Championship and the potential Number four seed in the playoffs.  Their opponents for this week is the Liberty-Madera Hawks.  They will be the most equivalent team Kerman will have played all year.  Both teams have good running games, linemen, and defenses.  These teams even have the same record at 7-1.  The difference maker Kerman has is their passing game.  If their division one quarterback Sean Chambers can connect with his receiving core and keep the Hawks on their heels, Kerman would have the upper hand.

Kerman has even stepped up the practices this week, preparing for the loudest game this season, implementing a Truck horn(150 decibels) during their drives to get used to playing in an environment almost equivalent to an NFL environment(136 decibels being the record).  Also, expect Kerman to take some risks in this high stakes game.  Pag Meter does have the Lions as two point favorites against the Hawks, and if Pag Meter is right, Kerman could potentially be hosting a playoff game at home on November 10th.
