Central Is Rolling

The Central is 6-1 overall and 2-0 in Trac play this year, and they look like the team to beat in the valley. The Grizzlies won their second game last week beating the Clovis Cougars 33-0 at Lamonica Stadium. Central left no room for error against the Cougars in this one.

The Grizzlies defense was the key to the 33-0 victory; they forced the Cougars to turnover the ball 2 times and held the Cougars to no points, shutting them out in this game. It was another big game for the senior linebacker Jacob Hollins who had 18 Total Tackles and 1 sack. Tre Walker, the other Senior Linebacker, had 12 total tackles and 2TFl. Junior Noah Gonzales and Tyrell Grayson had one interception.

The Grizzlies defense now has 21 sacks and 11 takeaways this season. But the Grizzlies defense wasn’t the only thing that was rolling; the Grizzlies offense lead the way with the Cougar’s defense. Junior QB Trent Tompkins had a solid game with 2 Touchdowns at 15-28 for 246 yards. Also, senior RB Jevon Bigelow had a big game on 16 carries for 146 yards and one TD. Sophomore Jeremiah Hunter had a good game on 3 catches for 79 yards and 1 TD. Senior Jacob Torrez had a great game – also on 7 catches for 71 yards and 1TD.

The Grizzlies will now shift their focus to Clovis North Broncos who are 2-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play. This game will be a close one going either way very quickly. The Broncos are not offensively good and central’s offense is just too much for the Broncos Defense.

The Grizzlies should come out strong with Broncos in this one. Will the Grizzlies move to 3-0 in TRAC play? Find Out Friday Night @7:00PM @Koligian Stadium.
