A BIG Week For Madera South

Let’s start with a BIG Stallion hello to you, our reader! Madera South, to me, is one of the best high schools there can be. Our campus is beautiful, our teachers/staff are nice, and our student section at sporting events are ONE OF A KIND!! If you are a student, Friday, October 20th we are having our GO PINK football game at 7:30 PM here at our Memorial Stadium. This is our chance to acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness, come out and support our Stallion football players and cheerleaders at their senior night vs. Bullard High School. Join the fun and get hyped with our Stallion Storm student section, if you are not a student please do not worry, but come in a hurry, to sit along with everyone in the bleachers to cheer our Stallions on! Friday, October 13th our football players faced Sanger High School and finished with a loss of 3-40. Our stallions pushed hard the entire game and hope to come back even stronger vs. Bullard High School Friday, October 20th. Good luck and have a terrific Senior Night Stallion Football and Cheer!
Girls Volleyball Competed in the Stockton Classic October 13th and 14th and did a fantastic job. They played ALHA and won 2-0, then faced Tioga and also won 2-0. Next they faced Los Banos and won 2-0, and lastly beat Chavez 2-0. In the , nd our volleyball girls received a record of 4-2 for the classic. Great job girls! Tuesday, October 17th Volleyball faced Sanger High School and finished with a loss of 2-3 sets. It was an incredible battle between both teams, the Stallions hope to carry their energy over to their home game and Senior Night vs. Edison High School Thursday, October 19th at 3:45/4:45/6:00. Varsity player and setter, Ruthali Castillo #10 says “We have been working on our serve revive and our offense, this way it looks better.” Next, our girls will be facing San Joaquin Memorial Tuesday, October 24th and MHS Thursday, October 26th. Good luck to our Seniors and all other Volleyball players!
Wednesday, October 18th or Water Polo teams faced Sanger High School. In spite of a tremendous effort, our Boys lost 9-14 Thursday, October 19th our Water polo teams will be facing Edison High School at 3:30/4:30/5:30/6:30. This will also be Senior Night, so good luck to all our Seniors and Players! Tuesday, October 24th our Boys and Girls will be competing against San Joaquin Memorial at their away game. Both teams are looking to play unified and have an amazing offense along with defense. Go kick some butt Stallions!
Our fantastic Cross Country team raced in the Roosevelt Roughrider Invitational Friday, October 13th and had great results. Frosh/Soph Girls received 3rd place and our Frosh/Soph Boys ranked 4th. Both Boys and Girls JV placed 1st, Girls Varsity finished 3rd while Boys finished 5th. Next, our Stallion Runners will be zooming in the Clovis North Twilight Meet at 5pm, Friday, October 20th. This unique race is amazing, it is one of the few night races our runners participate in. Good luck to Cross Country on their goal to achieve faster times and smarter races.
Girls Golf completed an awesome season! Each and every girl enjoyed the matches, the team meshed well, and they achieved many personal goals. We hope our Girl Golfers will come back stronger and ready for next year’s season.
Girls Tennis has also come to its end for the year, but this year’s team achieved many team goals while also forming tight friendships that will last throughout High School and hopefully many years to follow.
Our Stallions are intense but always work on defense, come out and support, no matter the event or sport. Anyone can come and join in on the fun!
