The Timberwolves Are Rising

image1 (3).jpegMen’s Water Polo traveled to Clovis High last Thursday to take on the Cougars. In a very physical game, the Cougars came out on top 15-11. The loss brought the Timberwolves’ TRAC record to 1-5 and they desperately needed a win. The Golden Eagles of Clovis West traveled to Clovis East for another Rumble at the REC. Goals were at a minimum in this game. Back and forth the Timberwolves and the Eagles went. But it was the Clovis East Timberwolves who came out on top winning 8-7! For the first time in school history, the T-Wolves have taken down the mighty Eagles. The Timberwolves will take part in the Ocean View High School Tournament this weekend down in Huntington Beach.
Women’s Golf had a BIG week this week in their tournament. Last Thursday the girls had a head-to-head match with the Buchanan Bears. Every single one of the Timberwolves defeated the Bears in a clean sweep, 6-0. This is the first time in school history that Women’s Golf has defeated Buchanan. Wednesday, the girls shot a 200, the lowest in school history, and were only 3 strokes behind ranked Clovis West. Senior Morgan Polley led the way shooting a 34, which was first among individuals. The T-Wolves placed 2nd in the tournament. If they keep it up, they could give Clovis West a run for their money come time for TRAC championships.

Women’s Tennis held their Senior Night Tuesday against the Central Grizzlies. In an almost perfect send-off for the seniors, the Wolfpack defeated the Grizzlies 5-4 and ended their TRAC season with an overall record of 2-5.
Women’s Water Polo looked to get the ball rolling again after a loss to Clovis High last Thursday. They took on Clovis West Tuesday at Clovis East. The last time these two faced off it was an instant classic as the Wolfpack scored with just seconds left to defeat the Eagles for the first time in school history. But the Eagles came in with a chip on their shoulders. The Golden Eagles defeated the T-Wolves to even their season series at one apiece. The Lady Timberwolves will take on the Buchanan Bears next Tuesday.
Women’s Volleyball had a tough schedule this past week taking on the #1 and #2 teams in the valley. First, it was the #2 Buchanan Bears. The Timberwolves struggled against the Bears dropping 3 straight sets and bringing their TRAC record to 2-2. Tuesday, trying to get back on track, they traveled to Central. The #1 Grizzlies showed why they are #1. Sweeping the Timberwolves with ease. The now 2-3 Timberwolves will travel to Clovis High to take on the Cougars next Tuesday.
image3.pngFootball took on Clovis High last Friday in the “Battle for the Boot”. Lamonica was flooded with pink as both teams had their Pigskin for PINK game. The Timberwolves jumped out in the first quarter and ate up the clock. Taking almost 10 minutes on their opening drive. It worked out for Clovis East as the Wolfpack score first with an amazing one-handed catch by #33 Chandler Hamilton. With the score 7-0 Timberwolves at the end of the first quarter.The game plan seemed to be working by keeping the Cougar offense off the field. But Clovis High battled back and the Timberwolves and Cougars were tied at the half, 14-14. The Cougars came out in the second half in a hurry, scoring to make it 14-21. The Timberwolves received the ball and drove down the field eager to tie it back up. However, the Wolfpack fumbled the ball at the Clovis High 7 yard line. All momentum shifted to the Cougar sideline and they weren’t stopping. The Cougars ended up winning the game 14-28 and took Boot for another year. The Timberwolves will go back at it again this Friday as they take on the Clovis North Broncos at Lamonica. Kickoff is at 7:00.
