All things Madera South
Homecoming was a major success!! The parade, rally, and game were all very exciting with the Stallions showing tremendous school spirit and pride. All floats in the parade were both creative and amazing, ending with Class Float Winner: Junior Class of 2019 and Club Winners: Table Tennis, Art Club, and Fashion Club! The Homecoming Rally was a successful one, including a Teachers vs. Students Dance Battle, a Drum Solo, and an amazing student turnout. MSHS Football faced San Joaquin Memorial and finished with a loss of 6-62. But, #29 Mathew “Poptart” Manoz, is now the holder of the Kick Return Yards school record with a total of 306 yards! Next, our Stallion Football players will be facing Sanger High School at their away game Friday, October 13th at 7:30 PM.
Girls Tennis had their last season match October 10th vs. MHS. In spite of the loss, our tennis girls played fantastically! Every girl was competing, moving the ball around, and playing smart while still having fun! The team meshed very well together all season long growing only stronger bonds, our one senior Rosa… will be missed dearly and if all our girls come back next year the team will only grow stronger. As my first year playing Tennis, I could not have asked for a better group of girls and coaches to play with, they taught me very much and answered any questions that may have popped into my mind. I cannot wait to see what next season brings us and how we will finish this year! Our girls have achieved many goals this season and look forward to participating in the CMAC Championships Thursday, October 12th at MHS.
Girls Golf faced Edison High School Tuesday, October 10th and came out with an outstanding victory of 6-0! The girls are looking terrific together and hope to carry on the good attitudes and spirits to the CMAC 9 Hole Championships Thursday, October 12th and the CMAC CIF Qualifying 18 Hole Tourney Tuesday, October 17th. Good luck to our golfers!!
Water Polo Boys and Girls were scheduled to face Edison High School Wednesday, October 11th at Madera South, but due to bad air quality, the game has been rescheduled to Thursday, October 19th. Water polo Senior Night is coming up next, Wednesday, October 18th vs. Sanger High School at 3:30/4:30/5:30/6:30. Come out to support both Girls and Boys teams during their game and celebration of the Seniors on their special night.
Girls Volleyball faced MHS October 10th and finished with a loss of 0-3. The girls look forward to coming back stronger and unified at their game away against Bullard High School Thursday, October 12th. Following this game will be, Tuesday, October 17th with a home game vs. Edison High School at 3:45/4:45/6:00. Then Thursday, October 19th will be our Volleyball Girls’ spectacular Senior Night vs. Sanger High School at 3:45/4:45/6:00. Good Luck to our Girls on all their upcoming games.
Cross Country raced in the Clovis Invitational Saturday, October 7th. Although the team didn’t get the results they desired, both Boys and Girls teams have been pushing tremendously hard to come back faster and better for the Roughrider Invitational Friday, October 13th at Woodward Park. Good luck to all our Runners.
Madera South Security Guard, Vanessa Reyes allowed 8-year-old Violet Ramos to cut off and shave Mrs. Reyes’ hair Sunday, October 8th. Amazing, joyful, and energetic Violet is currently battling Stage 3 Liver Cancer and as a close family friend, Mrs. Reyes decided to donate her full head of hair to help this precious little girl have a beautiful wig of her own to use and wear whenever she pleases. Family and Friends all over are showing their support for Team Violet on her amazing battle every day in every way possible by t-shirts, shaving their heads to show they are with Violet, and much more. Thank you to Vanessa Reyes who has inspired many by doing this courageous act of kindness by helping Violet in her search of a wig made specifically for her, which she is also looking forward to dying blue and violet.
Have a Fantastic Friday!
