It’s Homecoming at Madera South!

Students dress up for homecoming week

It has arrived, HOMECOMING IS HERE!! This is a very intense week for the Stallion Storm. To start off the HOCO week, Beach Day was the dress up theme for Monday, who then threw the ball to Tuesday which was Jersey Day. Next, came Squad Day to gather up all the friends to show school spirit on Wednesday. Following, giving a blast to the past was Throwback Thursday. Lastly, for this week Friday, Oct. 6th is the day for Stallions to show incredible school spirit by bleeding black, purple, and gray or by wearing All Around The World costumes! Friday, October 6th is a very busy day for all Stallions! Starting off the day, the amazing Block S will be delivering Homecoming Flowers, then the HOCO Parade will be going all around, at lunch will be the unbelievable Homecoming Rally, and to finish the night will be the Homecoming Football game at 7:30 vs. San Joaquin Memorial.

 

Girls Golf did a fantastic job at their League Match vs Edison alongside 5 other schools placing 5th place while beating Edison High School by 8 strokes. MSHS Golfer Jaque shot a 68, Allison Porter shot a 60, Taylor shot a 55, and Leticia shot a 53! Great job to all the Girls Golf team members, way to ‘drive’ the ball! Next, the golfers will be playing in Sanger Thursday, October 5th. Then they will be playing away at Edison High School, Tuesday, October 10th.

MSHS Water Polo did a tremendous job while competing vs. MHS, Wednesday, October 4th. Boys Water Polo lost 7-9 but fought extremely hard and was able to stand their ground and work together as a team. Girls finished with a loss of 1-10 but gave the game their all and did not back down without a fight.

Cross Country raced in the Madera Invitational at Lions Town and Country Park Saturday, September 30th. The Boys Frosh/Soph, Girls JV, Boys JV, and Boys Varsity did amazing all coming in first place! Girls Varsity also ran incredible placing 2nd as a team! Next, the Cross Country team will be racing in the Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park, Saturday, October 7th. Good luck, pace yourself, and run hard XC!

Girls Volleyball faced Edison High School Thursday, September 28th and came out on top with a tremendous win of 3-1! The team bounced off of each other creating a one-track mindset! Tuesday, October 3rd, Girls Volleyball faced Sanger High School and finished with a loss of 1-3. Next, the team will be going head to head with San Joaquin Memorial at their home game Thursday, October 5th. Following this on Tuesday, October 10th our Madera South Volleyball Girls will be up against MHS at a home match at 3:45/4:45/6:00. Come out and support our girls!

Tuesday, October 3rd Girls Tennis faced Sanger High School at a home match, the team put up an amazing fight but unfortunately did not come out with a win. Our tennis girls are competing and holding their own against almost all their opponents, the team grows a closer bond each and every day and looks forward to finishing the season on a high and good note. Thursday, October 5th, the girls go vs. San Joaquin Memorial and then go to MHS for their last league match Tuesday, October 10th at 3:00 PM. Good Luck to Tennis! Go get those aces!
