Aztecs & Eagles earn bounce back wins & WSL Play Begins this Week, Aztecs Host Dos Palos on Homecoming

Dos Palos seems to be in a nightmare that they can’t wake up from after the Kerman Lions had their way with the Broncos of DP last Friday night. After a DP Field Goal, Kerman took control the rest of the way with a prolific rushing attack and a defense that was relentless and not allowing Dos Palos to score a touchdown. Kerman sent a loud and clear message to their opponents with a 64-3 win and the losing streak for Dos Palos extends to four games. Dos Palos will travel to Mendota to open WSL Play this Friday.

Firebaugh looked like the team that beat Riverdale two weeks ago and not like the team that lost to Caruthers as they traveled to Parlier for their final non-league game. Firebaugh took control early on and never looked back as they flew by the Panthers of Parlier 41-7. Firebaugh will open WSL Play at home against winless Tigers in Tranquillity this Friday.
Mendota gave up 22 points in their loss to Immanuel on the 22nd. Mendota scored 22 points which was enough as the defense stepped up and allowed 12 points as Mendota got the momentum building win against Minarets 22-12. Mendota now sets their sights on hosting the Dos Palos Broncos on Homecoming looking to start WSL Play on the right foot this Friday.
Coalinga is looking for answers after traveling to Kingsburg and although they shut out the Vikings in the 2nd half, it wasn’t enough as Kingsburg scored 31 1st half points and they also shutout the Horned Toads of Coalinga the whole game. Coalinga’s losing streak continues after the 31-0 loss and will Open WSL Play on the road in Avenal this Friday.
Avenal was hopefully looking to end their losing streak on the road against undefeated Strathmore, but that would not be the case as they went on the road and the Spartans of Strathmore showed Avenal why they were undefeated after just like Farmersville did only giving up 8 points but Strathmore did much better and scored 69 points as Avenal’s losing streak will continue into WSL Play as they host the Horned Toads of Coalinga this Friday.
Tranquillity had the week off last week off and they came back home for the first time this season due to renovations at their stadium. The Tigers hosted the Cowboys of Riverdale and Riverdale came and stomped all over Tranquillity in their home opener 49-10 and will go back on the road to start WSL Play in Firebaugh.
