Sanger football had a bye last week, except for the freshman team who played and won at Sunnyside by a score of 28-18. The JV and varsity teams will return this Friday playing at Reedley. Next Friday, October 6th, the Apaches will play Bullard at Ratcliffe Stadium.

Varsity girls volleyball played Thursday the 21st and won 3 sets to one, led by Stephanie Herring. Dinuba won the second set to tie and then Sanger pushed through to win. They also participated in the Hard Driven Tournament at Clovis North on Friday and Saturday while Freshman and JV played in a tournament at Madera South. They played at Madera on Tuesday and versus San Joaquin Memorial this week. Junior Sarah Herring describes the varsity team as great communicators with a confident and energetic spirit about them. She elaborates, saying, “my favorite aspect about my team this year is the level of communication we have with each other. We know how each other plays, our different tendencies, and what would work best for the player and the team… it’s great to know and trust your teammates.” Although they are in the middle of a tough season, these girls play with so much heart and athleticism. Their next games are on the 3rd, home against Madera South, and on October 5th at Bullard.
Golf had their second CMAC Tournament on Thursday and placed second as a team. They played SJM at Sherwood on Tuesday the 26th and won the match. The girls next play San Joaquin Memorial on Tuesday.
Sanger girls tennis went to Atascadero last Friday and won the match. On Tuesday they were victorious while up against Madera. The tennis team traveled to San Joaquin Memorial on Thursday. Next week the team plays Madera South and Bullard.

Apache girls water polo won against San Joaquin Memorial on Thursday the 21st. JV was playing Edison and got the W. Sanger played Madera South on Tuesday and won that game as well, advancing their record to 13-3. This weekend the varsity team is participating in the Buchanan Invitational. Next week the girls will be playing Edison and Madera, both at home.
Boys water polo traveled to Monache and Bullard last week. The JV team went to the Clovis High Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Next week they will host Edison on Tuesday and Edison on Thursday.
Cross country ran in the Mt. Whitney Invitational last Saturday. This week on the 30th they will participate in the Brugg Invitational at Atascadero.
