Dinuba’s Comeback Week
After being on a bye week, Dinuba football had one idea on their mind: To beat El Diamante. They lost to them last year and this year was going to be some revenge hopefully.

The series began by Junior Varsity team winning 12-3. The defense looked amazing, as they only allowed the field goal after a long defensive stand. The offense was a 2 headed running attack, with both RB/FB Josh Meave and RB/S Devon Mendoza both got a touchdown a piece.
Offensive Player of the week: RB Josh Meave, had a touchdown in 1st quarter to wake up offense
Defensive Player ofThe Week: MLB Ethan Espinosa. Had 8 tackles, kept offenses run game slow and made many key stops.
The varsity team came out pounding the ball down the field, as Luis Colunga capped off their first drive with a 3 yard rushing touchdown. El D then scored and it was tied up when Dinuba DE Josh Sanchez tipped and intercepted a ball, which later lead to 35 yard pass to WR Colton Martinez from QB Josh Magana. They then forced a turnover on downs and threw another pass to WR/S Brian Ortuno for 27-yard touchdown. They went into the half up 21-7, when they came back out though, El D started to unite their own score, as they ran in it to make it 21-13. Dinuba then got the ball and gave them a score back, with a 12-yard rushing touchdown by FB Lucas Tuttle to make it 27-13. After that score though, it went into the 4th quarter where it seemed Dinuba couldn’t do anything to stop El Diamante, as after two scoring drives they tied it up to go into overtime, 30-30.
El D got the ball to open it up, and Dinuba forced them to kick a field goal. With a ton of nerves on QB Josh Magana, he calmed himself and was able to rely on his run game to win the game, as FB Lucas Tuttle again ran for a score to win the game 33-30.After this win, I feel you can see the passion this team has to stay in and the defense has the motor to keep a team in a game. Watch out for this defense in the future!
Offensive Player of The Week: FB Lucas Tuttle, had a couple of big running touchdowns, one eventually winning them the game.
Defensive Player of The Week: DE Joshua Sanchez, 2 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception.

Dinuba will now go back home to face the Porterville Panthers, who have struggled this season and who Dinuba beat last season by 50 points+. They will play at Claud Hebert Field at 5:30 for JV and 7:30 for Varsity. Makes sure to go watch the DinubaEmperors and get to see the Green Mile with your own eyes. As past varsity players will tell you, it’s one of the best in the valley!!!!
